Because you keep typing and so desperately want to be right. Just read your paperwork.
And I have repeatedly told you in a nice way you all are getting b.s. They are only sending out paper checks to people who recieved thier REFUND IN THE FORM OF A PAPER CHECK. That does not apply to people who had thier refund DD to a Serve card. So go back and look at your paperwork. The method they used to is called trunking. Once it is done the accounts are closed.
I know what it said and I have been helping JH customers all week. But there is NO One at the IRS to authorize the “flip” so you are more than likely getting a paper check UNLESS they can go in an override the system to take the new info.

Same with being locked out. If info is input incorrectly to many times the system locks out but can be overridden by a Contact Rep if they were at work. They have been furloughed due to Corvid. Before the stimulus went out. Luckily they are trying to have the reps work from home, but have to make sure they can acess the system without security breaches.
No I understand what you are saying, but I am telling why ppl who have entered DD info into the portal are still getting paper checks. I am also telling you how the process works. There is no little man sitting at the IRS that can physically change that info. Why the IRS did that I don’t know. In a normal course the system can be overridden if it is caugjt before the deposit or check is qued, but in this case it wasn’t and no one was there to “flip” tje new DD info.
Go back and look at your 1040, there is no DD info on it. I am simply trying to help as a friend suggested I come on to this thread since most people are not getting any help and frankly JH has closed most of the stores and kiosk. Additionally, the IRS contact reps have been furloughed for 3 weeks so they can’t help you either. Good luck!
My guess is that it was easier to generate the checks instead of shuttimg the whole system down to overwrite the program. So would you have preferred to get your check in August vs the end of April?
I already anwsered that in the post about the refund system. The IRS and the Treasury didn’t override the system to stop it from automatically creating paper checks, which is what normally happens when a DD is rejected. In a normal course the system does not allow information to be changed and a paper check is created
Fees should not preclude a deposit, unless the account was closed.
If you filed with JH it went to Republic Bank. Since you are not a “standard”account holder they are going to tell you it did not, because the accounts were JH account and you are not an authorized user in theory. So they cannot go and look up the reject list for you.

Put in whatever info is on your 1040 if your 2019 was processed.
Chexks take longer to send out that is why ppl with checks got thier stimulus. They temp acounts were still open. Not all be a few.
No JH dropped the ball they didnt request that the accounts be opened at Republic Bank. They had time to do it.
Because they are using the refund system. So in a normal course if your tax refund DD account was closed or incorrect it would bounce back and a paper check would automatically be issued once they received the funds back at the Treasury. JH never reopened the accounts.
Truat me even JH employees who filed at work are having the same issues.
Even if most people were able to get thier DD info changed. You will probably get a paper check mailed out on 4/24. The system should be updating soon.

I am teliing you why you all will be receving paper checks, Republic Bank closed the accounts set up by JH, the accounts used to pay your fees and refund. Those accounts closed after you and JH were paid. The Treasury sent the checks to those accounts they had on file. And they bounced back.
You signed the paperwork allowing JH to file your taxes you agreed to have a temp acount setup at REPUBLIC bank. Go read your paperwork. It does not matter if you got an advance or not. I have helped a few people this week who filed at JH.
Also I see that someone says they heard the IRS doesn’t dd to prepaid cards, they do. That woman who stated she was a former IRS analyst was not telling the truth. I am a former IRS contact reps and tax preparer/case manager. Serve, Blue Bird, Rush, Netspend are all prepaid debit cards. Green Dot as well. Non-prepaid cards are issued with a bank acount (Chime) is an online bank supported by a physical bank.
Also about a week ago people who requested paper checks and paid thier fees up front,recieved thier stimulus b/c the temp accounts were still open.
Serve is not to blame here. If you all go back and look at the paperwork you received after you filed you will see that you agreed to have a temp account set up at Republic Bank and Trust. Then go look at the DD info on your tax return, there will be none. Once your tax refund was released, it went to RB who paid you and JH, then the account closed. Your stimulus was rejected due to that reason.
