Filed 1/26. Recieved 2/12. 2/26 then lost bars. 3/7 still no bars. 3/15 called IRS. They said my refund amount was changed and being held for review. She asked me about the recovery rebate and told me that it was fraudulent to claim it if someone else had already gotten it for my kids. Wth? H&R told me to claim them since they were in my care all of 2020. I know others that got it in the same situation, so maybe there is hope for us.
I am in the same boat. Ex claimed my kids in 2019, got both stimulus checks and I never sae a dime. Hell, he’s not paying child support either and I had the kids all of 2019 and 2020. So he’s living it up while we struggle to make ends meet. Now I have to wait and see if my 2020 return will be processed before this third stimulus so he doesn’t get to screw us anymore.
In a similar boat. My ex claimed my kids in 2019 because I was finishing college and not working so of course he got the stimulus for them despite the fact I have full custody and they live with me all year. I couldn’t get him to pay child support and so never expected he would share the stimulus either. So now here I am waiting for my return to be processed for 2020 so that he doesn’t get to take even more money away from my kids with the third stimulus.
