I filed and was accepted on 1/29/20. No movement at all until this morning when WMR bars were gone and message changed to still being processed. I still have tax topic 152 and amount showing, and have received no letter from IRS. Anyone have this same thing happen and if so what could this mean?

-

Well, I’m going on three months now with no update. Bars disappeared and they may never return. “Your return is still processing”…. in Neptune.

Has anybody gotten they refund back ?
It will be 8 weeks since i idv on the ph ? And still noting -
April 18, 2020 at 1:20 pm #4416443
What does it mean when your as of date change
Apparently, it means your return has been opened/handled/looked at for some reason. For almost everyone, the “As of” date changed to 4/27 on 4/9, because that’s when the IRS was preparing the economic impact payments.

April 16, 2020 at 8:02 am #4411880Karen
Has anyone here gotten their refund aftet the 60 day review?. My review period ended on April 14, and now with the virus I am wondering if this 60 day period will be extended, I can’t even get ahold of anyone. This is so Frustrating. I have not even received a letter or anything and the website just states it is still being processed.
My concern is since the filing date was extended to July,is the review period extended as well.
Any insight would be helpful. -

-
April 9, 2020 at 11:51 pm #4400804Sds1988
@Matthew Cooper we had the same dates. Any updates for you??? Nothing for me 😩😩
-
April 8, 2020 at 1:37 pm #4400404DeeDeeLTL
@hopes7
I encourage you to read through the 60 day review thread. Many of us are or were stuck in processing with the same message you have. Some were required to ID Verify, others, like myself had issues with verifying wages, and some had Or have offsets and other things going on. Have you been able to access your transcripts by creating an account on the Irs website? If you have a hardship, you may qualify for a tax advocate.
-
April 8, 2020 at 1:31 pm #4400401@hopes7
I filed on 3/2 and was accepted. The bars have been dissapeared and status is still saying “tax return still being processed”. I cant get anyone on the phone. I have not received a letter from the irs or anything. its been a whole month now. Anybody having the same issue?
-
April 7, 2020 at 4:52 pm #4400177ProudFatherOF1
@kj your not going to fully process until you call and find out why your not processing. I was told they should be back open in the morning. I would definitely recommend calling at 6:57 so you can dial through the system to get a hold of someone. My transcripts updated w/new address last Friday so it’s some progress going on with them
-
April 7, 2020 at 4:22 pm #4400175Gigglezz
@kj in my situation I filed and got accepted on 02/19 then on 02/22 my bars disappeared and my status changed to “Your return is still being processed”
it ended up being ID Verify :(
on 03/13 I completed the ID Verify over the phone and was told i’d be put back into processing.
this helped my status change to “Your return is being processed” but I’ve had no further updates since then.
-
April 7, 2020 at 4:11 pm #4400172kj
i was accepted 3/20. bars went missing since a few days ago. i had filed with a new address. no access to transcripts with new address.
thinking this is an IDV or could it mean they are probably gonna process it the way it is after a few more weeks?>
please let me know. thanks!
-
April 7, 2020 at 10:37 am #4400105Shicks
I think though that normally they would hole the refund waiting for the info and no they’re saying they wont deny the refund. I’m assuming they wint hold it till july. I dont have eitc so I dont know. I have had a 570 hold for 3 weeks though and no other info so I’m hoping that gets unfrozen soon. I would think they’re going to release most unless something major is wrong. Idk
-
April 7, 2020 at 10:09 am #4400098
@shicks..the way I read that article and understood it was that they extended the deadline to july 15th for submitting info instead of having the deadline for april 15th. I think it’s just giving you more time to get info in. I don’t think they are necessarily postponing reviews. That was just my take on it.
-
April 7, 2020 at 4:04 am #4400061Broady
I filed mine on march 7th. At that time it was accepted and estimated return was 28th of march. Since then it still says processing with no date anymore. I got my state return 3 wks ago.. is anyone seeing returns at all? Or is that where they are really getting all the stimulus money from?
-
April 5, 2020 at 4:54 pm #4399807Shicks
I do see that the irs has implemented a people first initiative and they are still processing returns. For people with eitc they have postponed all income verification reviews till july..I dont knowing that’s for everyone ..and I dont know if that means they are releasing the funds ..I would think so. Does anyone know what that might mean for those of us with the 570 hold that dont know why?
-
April 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm #4399789Matthew Cooper
@gigglezz I think with all that’s going on it’s going to be a while before we see a tax update
-
April 4, 2020 at 12:59 pm #4399589Gigglezz
Any updates for those of us still holding on to some sort of hope?
Filed and accepted 02/19
Verified 03/13
Updated to is being processed 03/19Been stuck on that ever since 🤬
-
March 31, 2020 at 6:38 am #43985755Piece
Accepted 1/27
4464c 2/19
No changes in yrs…the problem is we filed too early and our income wasn’t verified as of yet from employers. They have until the 30th of Jan. to submit W2 to both parties. If you went off last pay stub and it wasn’t documented on the right form it raised a flag. Also most fruad returns are filed early so that’s where the random selection comes from. I normally file sometime in Feb. Never had this problem. -

@ Tisha11
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i8962.pdf hope this helps.
-
March 31, 2020 at 6:24 am #43985725Piece
570 basically is saying you possibly owe and/or a credit you claimed doesn’t apply so your refund maybe less than expected.
-
March 31, 2020 at 6:11 am #4398570Shicks
Nope my wmr just says it’s being processed and it tells me to use the app to see the status of my refund
-
March 30, 2020 at 10:24 pm #4398530
@Shicks, unfortunately the IRS isn’t communicating too much about what the 570 freeze might be for, if they don’t send correspondence. Do you see any tax topics on your WMR?

Can anybody help a form 8962 its difficult
-
March 30, 2020 at 10:12 pm #4398523Shicks
I know but once the 570 code showed I have nothing. No letter. No 971 code..nothing so I dont know what’s holding it up
-
March 30, 2020 at 9:54 pm #4398519
@Shicks, As I understand it, you wouldn’t have the 570 TC for the IDV. Something else is likely holding up processing of your return.
-
March 30, 2020 at 9:05 pm #4398510Shicks
Honestly I IDV on 3/10 and still nothing. I have a 570 code. No other codes
-
March 30, 2020 at 6:17 pm #4398468ProudFatherOF1
@tisha11 Correct I’m not sure what number you have to fax it in to but it should state it in your letter
-

@sds1989, usually, those of us with some substantially different circumstances (filing after not filing for a year or more, changing address, changing employers, filing status change, etc.) will receive a 5071C letter from the IRS. It has a control # that is necessary for the IDV process. It’s to prevent identity theft & tax fraud. It usually happens before they begin processing. If you’ve gotten a letter regarding wage verification, you’ve probably already gone beyond the IDV flag phase.
-
March 28, 2020 at 8:31 pm #4398095sds1989
How do y’all know if you have to do an IDV??? Cpo5 letter says not to do anything or call within the 60 days! It’s so frustrating!!!
-
March 28, 2020 at 8:21 pm #4398091
@tisha11, that’s over a week away! I wonder if it’s related to the recovery rebates. For those who are still waiting for their refund (no, I’m not one), the continued anxiety and waiting for yet another week seemingly shortens their lives!
As for me, I will welcome the rebate — it’s larger than my tax refund was!
-
March 28, 2020 at 7:41 pm #4398081
The irs opening up the phone lines starting 4/8.
-
March 28, 2020 at 3:50 pm #4398033ProudFatherOF1

-
March 28, 2020 at 3:38 pm #4398028
@ProudFatherOF1 my message has been stuck at is being processed from the get go. It has never said still being…I don’t think that means anything this year.

March 28, 2020 at 3:03 pm #4398006
@keiharts I got lucky the first time I called the IRS because the agent I spoke with told me they were missing one of my claimed earnings. Lurking on the forums here helped and honestly if it wasn’t for people like @thicks and @Gofigure I would have been lost. There is a strange camaraderie here. I get the anxiety part tho. I think we all go thru it. Stay strong. It’ll come thru.
-
March 28, 2020 at 2:53 pm #4398001keiharts
Why is that so many ppl are having to contact the irs to know that they need to send information for w2 verify?! I see so many received 60 day review, like myself, and only found they needed to fax in last pay check stub. How am I suppose to even get that answer or know if I need to take those measures when you call they tell you to wait the 60 days. This makes no sense at all. I honestly had to take a break from the forums for a while due to anxiety got so bad I couldn’t handle it.

Stuck on 570 code and talked with advocate yesterday said they were sending to supervisor due to its been 2 weeks and haven’t heard from my actual assigned advocate. Fingers crossed something updates or something new. Been waiting over 60 days now with no updates and no other letters besides 4464c saying to do nothing.
-
March 26, 2020 at 6:47 pm #4397377Kay
Nothing yet. My bets are on this Saturday! Next day for major updates

-
March 25, 2020 at 11:48 pm #4397180
What’s with IRS reps telling taxpayers not to call for X period of time? What are they going to do if you do call? Not calling doesn’t speed anything up, so what are they going to do if you call, continue to resequence? It’s not like your refund is progressing, anyway! If I were in that boat, I’d definitely be applying for TAS and/or contacting my representative!
-
March 25, 2020 at 11:31 pm #4397168sds1989
@GoFigure They told me totally opposite! I called twice and spoke to two different people both told me it was chosen by random. The second person I talked to told me once I get my letter not to call again till after the 60 days.
-
March 25, 2020 at 10:55 pm #4397161Jimmiehawk85
I filed on the 01/27 got 2 letters telling me that they received my refund and they will contact me they need any further information and haven’t heard anything since and it still says being processed
-
March 25, 2020 at 10:03 pm #4397146GoFigure
@Cooper
Yes I received my CP05 letter couple of weeks ago. It was sent on 3/09. They made it clear it is not random..the review is more of something missing or not matching up. Later to find it is wage verification for a w2 they need paystub for so TA received it from me on Monday. O called yesterday to confirm receipt and he said yes he was sending finalization and request for immediate release of refund. We’ll see how that pans out, he said could 30 days or one week or two. -

@proudFatherOF1 filed and accepted 02/19 bars disappeared 02/22 ID verified on 03/13 😔 this is just ridiculous people are losing jobs and running out of money for basic necessities…. the irs should just release all payments and worry about audits and verifications after the fact
-
March 25, 2020 at 6:11 pm #4397090Matthew Cooper
@Gofigure did you get the Cp05 letter
-
March 25, 2020 at 4:47 pm #4397075

-
March 25, 2020 at 4:45 pm #4397074ProudFatherOF1
@tisha11 you filed a week after me so basically we should be the next batch. I had to IDV on 3/16. A friend of mine said his cousins had ID a week before me so I should update this week. I pray we all do. I might just stay on unemployment for awhile. I need to mentally get back in the process of paying someone taxes
-
March 25, 2020 at 3:36 pm #4397054

-
March 24, 2020 at 6:10 pm #4396800Rick
I filed/accepted 2/7, bars went away a few weeks later. I got a letter yesterday stating they need to confirm my income, so I have to submit my w-2 in mail. Great :D
-
March 24, 2020 at 6:04 pm #4396799GoFigure
CP05 is not a random review. It is because something is not matching up. Get ur last paystub from last year and get ready to submit.
-
March 24, 2020 at 4:04 pm #4396772Matthew Cooper
@sds1989 we in the same boat hopefully they deal with us sooner than later

@Titiarish Fields I filed 2/1 and called after the 21 days and that’s when they told me they were sending me a letter in the mail. I received the letter on 3/19. The letter doesn’t say much though. Just that it could take up to 60 days. Now it’s just a waiting game :/
-
March 23, 2020 at 5:35 pm #4396630

March 21, 2020 at 10:57 am #4396263Matthew Cooper
@shay the crazy thing is I called after 21 days but your 60 days doesn’t start till the date of the letter which isn’t fair because you have already been waiting on the letter
-
March 20, 2020 at 5:31 pm #4396105Ladypit5
I filed by mail 2/3, WMR showed received and being processed 2/27, WMR changed 3/4 Received and still being processed, a DDD will be provided when available, WMR changed 3/18 Received and Being Processed. 3/20 RECEIVED DD into my checking account and WMR STILL SHOWS RECEIVED AND BEING PROCESSED. I filed on 02/01. wmr bars changed to still processing. I received a cpo5 letter in the mail yesterday, but it just tells me not to do anything and wait the 60 days. Did this happen to anyone else?
-
March 20, 2020 at 6:01 am #4395853
Idv 3/2 online
3/4 wmr changed from still processing to being processed
3/20 transcripts finally updated with ddd for 3/25
Cycle code 20201205
No code 570
So it took about 2 weeks to process and getting paid on the 3rd week!
Thanks to everyone posting & for getting me through this. I hope this helps. -
March 20, 2020 at 5:30 am #4395848Shicks
I can finally see my transcript and it says code 570..so I guess I wait. Has anyone had this and they released the freeze without anything else needed?

I hope your right. I Idv. On the 3rd and still nothing! I called and they said. It’s only been a couple weeks. It takes 9..but I see all kinds of people get them I. A couple weeks. Fingers crossed!
-
March 19, 2020 at 4:17 pm #4395716
KeyK (@keyk), you can reasonably expect this Saturday to see your WMR update w/ a DDD of 3/25. Read the threads on IDVing to get a sense of other filers’ timetables.
I got my refund 13 days after IDVing. I would almost bet your wait will be 12 days.
-
March 19, 2020 at 3:57 pm #4395714
I filed on 2/16, accepted same day. Had 1 bar with TT 152, processing. A week later bar went away, as did TT 152 and status changed to “still processing.” I waited my 21 days and then called. Rep said I had to ID verify. A week later, letter in mail. Called and ID verified on 3/13. Today status updated from “still processing” to “processing”. Still no bars or date yet but I’m hopeful. Claimed HOH and filed 3 dependents with EIC.

Well o verified on 3_3 and I am still waiting. Hoping to update this weekend. Some people are saying 7 to 1e days.
-
March 17, 2020 at 9:08 pm #4394995Tys Girl
How long is the wait usually after you Id Verify?
Cause I id verify last Tuesday 03/10 And I checked Today and my bars are still gone ? I even verified on the ph . I filed on 02/13 accepted same day Bars dissapared a week later ! no Tax Topic. I really hope it updates this week but that will only be 3 weeks…I dont think it’s taking 9 weeks for most..I think they say that so we wont call..I feel like I’m being punished for no reason..everything is the same on my return as it is every year -
March 16, 2020 at 3:08 pm #4394636Roy
@Shicks I think I’m in the same boat with you still! I verified mines on 2/28 but it was around 3pm when I did it!! So hopefully me and you are on the same cycle.

March 16, 2020 at 2:56 pm #4394634Shicks
So I called today I IDV on 2/29 online but apparently since it was the weekend it didnt start processing till 3/3. All she said was it was processing and it could take up to 9 weeks. I asked if there were any other hold ups and she said all she can see is that its processing but if they need any other info they’ll send a letter..but as of now there is no flag o. My return. So I guess I wait..and hope its quick like alot of people who get it in like 2 weeks
-
March 16, 2020 at 10:45 am #4394414discobarbiephdsinglemama
I IDverified and passed 3/2. Just called and they said wait 9 weeks. Me and the kid may be zombies by then. She also said that even if I could get my transcripts, it won’t tell me anything. Has anyone IDverified on or around 3/2 and proven the phone people wrong with a DDD? Pray for me. I can’t do 9 weeks.
-
March 16, 2020 at 8:27 am #4394366Mimi
@Camie. I changed over in 3days. I know its only been a week. They are not consistant so Im having trouble pin pointing a trend in the process once we get past the IDV Successfully. I thought I would update 3/18. I have 2 depends. Claimed only eitc and ctc. Headhouse.
-
March 16, 2020 at 8:23 am #4394365Mimi
If I updated from “still being processed ” to ” it is being processed” on a Thursday should I expect sum to update this Thurs? I did it over the phone 3/9 her exact words were hold while I put you back in processing I held bout 4 mins and we were done. Smh
-
March 16, 2020 at 8:20 am #4394364Asia
Filed 2/4 accepted 2/6… everything disappeared 2/15… received a letter to IDverify.. called and verified 3/3…. only thing that changed was the “STILL being processed” now it says “ we received your return it is being processed…blah blah” only can see my refund amount to the left…
-
March 16, 2020 at 8:19 am #4394362Mimi
@cammie. Idk it was like that for me when trying to order the transcripts. It wouldnt recongnize this tear address that how I know that didnt process them.. but after I called 3/2 they asked me for my add in s way as if it didnt transmit.idk. But afterwards about 3 days I could get past the add using this tears add…idk whats going on

-
March 15, 2020 at 6:34 pm #4394286
@mimi I did the same…ID verify on 03/09 over the phone and am also hoping to see movement too. Really hoping I don’t have to wait 9 freakin weeks.
Unfortunatly I cannot check my Transcripts online because the IRS website won’t recognize my last 8 digits of my CC. Right now I am stuck at ” Still being processed ” with the amount and filing type on the left hand side.
Hopefully I will see movement soon…Could really use the money right now =P
-
March 15, 2020 at 6:25 pm #4394273
@Shicks, calling to IDV is different from calling IRS. They’re different departments and have different numbers.
I’ve seen where people who IDV’ed online then got a DDD, but maybe it’s faster to do it by phone because the IVO rep releases the freeze while you’re on the phone and puts your return in for processing, but the computer checks the online IDVs only at certain intervals.
-
March 15, 2020 at 5:42 pm #4394217Shicks
Hmm I wonder if I call and check if I’ll get a movement any faster
-
March 15, 2020 at 5:08 pm #4394181Mimi
@ shicks
I believe thats why you havent seen any mlm movement yet. Ppl who verifird either in person or on on phone move faster with turn around times so far after idv between 6days to 2 weeks tops. All who successfully verified online are the ones stating nothings changing. I did it over the p hi one 3/9 so movement 3/12 Tomorrow it will be a week so I am anxious to see
-
March 15, 2020 at 4:43 pm #4394164ValerieOK
@shicks
As far as proving hardship, they told me I would have to fax in an eviction notice or proof that my utilities had been or were about to be disconnected. I’m sure there are other things that could qualify as a hardship, that’s just what I was told. Good luck!🍀🍀🍀
-
March 15, 2020 at 4:32 pm #4394161Shicks
I mean how do n.v u prove a hardship?
-
March 15, 2020 at 3:41 pm #4394111
Yes you have to have hardship for tax advocate I was given 60 days review after I called here left a voice mail she call me same day by the end of the day and after 5 days called back to tell me my dd is set for 18 March next day it was updated to 18 March (214) 413-6500 is the nunber

Good morning, I just spoke with a very helpful gentleman at the IRS. He stated that I am to receive a letter in a week or so regarding the health tax credit. I wish there was a way that the website could indicate different statuses, but I guess we are stretching our imaginations. Best wishes to everyone and I hope you all get some movement soon. Be blessed!

Still no update or letter at this point I have given up
-
March 13, 2020 at 7:22 am #4392950
@Mimi, it’s all good.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Actually, my IDV timeline was probably average. I got my DD 13 days afterward. I IDV’ed on a Thursday evening. If I’d had the opportunity to IDV 2 or 3 days sooner, I might have been able to get a DDD of 3/4. Now that would have been faster than most.
-
March 13, 2020 at 7:16 am #4392944Mimi
@thicks so for the typos when trying spell your name.
-
March 13, 2020 at 7:15 am #4392943Mimi
@ starks… I IDV 3/9 and an update happened for me as well… I been following Thickness.. Thighs process was fast compared to most after IDV . So I say that we may push through fast like thickness with an update tomorrow with a DDD for 3/18. I’ve given it to God!
-
March 13, 2020 at 12:00 am #4392817
@starks, after I IDV’ed, my WMR status changed from “waiting to be processed” (what “still being processed” should REALLY say) to “being processed,” after one week, and two days later it changed to 2 bars (Refund Approved) and a DDD of 3/11. However, I don’t have access to my transcripts, so I can’t answer that part of your question. (I would think you would have 570 & 971.)
-
March 12, 2020 at 11:07 pm #4392804starks

-
March 12, 2020 at 8:17 pm #4392757T2471
I’ve been on being processed for almost over 30days. I mean are they not meeting staffing requirements and if that’s the case tax payers shouldn’t feel the negative impacts of incompetent service.
-
March 12, 2020 at 8:16 pm #4392756T2471
There’s a pandemic going on with Corona and all the refunds need to be released. Congress needs to demand that they release now and do their 45 to 60days review later, because the burden is falling on the tax payers to meet basic necessities and the IRS is causing hardships.
-
March 12, 2020 at 3:58 pm #4392671Stephen
I have same problem “review” they say starts 16th but no letter yet

March 12, 2020 at 3:53 pm #4392669Jbne4200
@shicks mine finally changed too.. I IDV last Thursday and checked this morning and it finally changed from still processing to processing.. next step is getting a DDD there’s a mass update Saturday so I’m hoping were apart of it!! I filed on January 31st and sat on still processing for a month, good to see movement finally, can’t wait to see those orange bars back with a DDD hopefully 😁
-
March 12, 2020 at 3:01 pm #4392653Shicks
I IDV last saturday. Wmr changed to return is being processed..not sure if that means anything..I’m hoping my transcripts update tonight so this nightmare can be over. This is so stressful!
-
March 12, 2020 at 12:44 pm #4392584Jbne4200
@franz I IDV last week Thursday.. had nothing but still processing till today and it’s now showing its being processed, took exactly a week to get movement, I was stuck on still processing for a month.. next update should be a DDD hopefully
-
March 12, 2020 at 2:07 am #4392415
I filed on Jan 24th and state accepted my refund that sam e day but it is still processing. Federal gave me the tax topic 152 also and until Feb 25/26 it changed my status to “ Your tax return has been received and it is being processed” and it has been like that for weeks now.
A friend of mine filed almost 3 weeks ago and she received almost the same amount as me with credits and she already received her refund on the 4th of this month.
-
March 11, 2020 at 8:41 pm #4392349Deez nutz
8 days from id verify to actually getting return😎
-
March 11, 2020 at 5:39 pm #4391990
@Franz, I believe your return usually goes right into processing as soon as you IDV, but the WMR update comes only once per week. I did my IDV on Thursday, 2/27, but it wasn’t until a week later (3/5) that WMR updated from “…still being processed” to “…being processed.”
My guess is they finish the work on the master file for weekly updaters on Thursday. Plus, apparently once you IDV, you get resequenced, so it isn’t your turn until the following week.
-
March 11, 2020 at 4:39 am #4391991
@Franz, from IDV to DD was 13 days for me.
-
March 11, 2020 at 4:10 am #4391981Franz
Got my letter last week on Monday called weds verified checked wmr still says the same thing any idea how long it takes to change the status cause reading on here it seems as soon as people call and verify they get some sort of result quick when their deposit comes in it’s been a week now
-
March 9, 2020 at 4:58 pm #4391031Nikki
I called the irs to question the cycle code and the rep just gave me a bunch of what it probably means. How sad is that?!!!!!
-
March 9, 2020 at 11:12 am #4390924Shicks
So my wmr changed last week to “your refund has been received and it is being processed” this was after I I’d verified and the as if date on my transcript changed to 3/23..but they’re blank otherwise. No codes ..anyone have a clue what this means ..I was accepted on 1/28 with actc only
-
March 9, 2020 at 7:44 am #4390799
I checked wmr for the fun of it and now it says they can not provide me with any information about my return. I’m confused as to why it says this

I woke up this morning and had Approved status and refund is being sent by March 12th. Transcript has code 846. I legit didn’t expect my refund until like late April or May and even called a TA.
Even if it looks grim, don’t assume the worse guys. Til next year.
-
March 8, 2020 at 3:12 pm #4390604Melyssa
Everyone who frequents here knows I’ve been having a really tough time this year with my taxes. Filed Feb 4 and accepted same day. However, it had errors and didn’t get to processing department til Feb 13. I called a week later and she told me they were missing the w2 I reported so I had code 570. A week after that, I called and she told me a notice was issued (code 971) and that I was on review and it could take 45 days from March 16th.

Also my transcript shows N/A except for account transcript which has an as of date of February 24 2020. And it says no return filed it also says no return filed on wage transcript. What does the as of date on my account transcript mean ?? Just curious

Accepted 1/31 thru turbo tax. No Child credits no EIC . Went still processing tt 152 about 2 weeks later called irs they said no issues. Waited about a week called back lady told me that they didn’t even receive my return until 2/5. So I waited to after 21 days called back and lady told me that turbo tax did not transmit my taxes and it has to be corrected. Told me it would take 8 weeks so I should see a refund around end of month. Just doesn’t seem right

We filed 1/31 Though TT
Accepted 1/31
Filed with creditsWMR bars have been gone over 2 weeks, amount still shows in the left.
Called yesterday & they said under 45 day review starting March 9th.
But then said they were waiting to here back from my employer for verification?
Still no update online
Kinda losing hope on this year!
We’ve never had problems like this -
March 7, 2020 at 9:14 am #4390135
I just had this happen to me after the update this morning. I still have my info on the side. Should I call and see if I’m under review?
-
March 7, 2020 at 8:46 am #4390120
Just like the rest of you I was told I would be under a 60 day review that will start 3/9. They also told me that was the week my letter was going to be mailed (Cp05). However, I woke up this morning to a ddd of 3/11 and have revived no letter yet. God is working! Keep hope! They seem to be processing the returns much quicker than they are stating.
-
March 7, 2020 at 8:13 am #4390087Elizabeth
Hey everybody. I just wanted to let yall know that I called the irs at the beginning of this week and was told that I was under a 60 day review that wasnt even starting until 3/16. This morning I woke up and happened to just check wmr and had a ddd for 3/11. I filed with turbo tax in sc. Hope this puts some hope in someone.

@thicks I just seen this after reading the other forum you replied too. I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my msgs. I have all that info in my phone and on TT documents so I should pass with flying colors. Thank you so much!!! I pray we all get our refunds ASAP
-
March 6, 2020 at 4:36 pm #4389759
@ProudFatherOF1, based on the text of the 5071C letter I got (and responded promptly to 8 days ago [2/27]), you need:
* control number from the top of the body of the letter;
* 2019 Tax return;
• A tax return from a prior year;
• Supporting documents (like W2s) included w/ the returns. They may also ask some personal information, like your mother’s maiden name and your father’s full name. There may be other options that I didn’t experience.
I didn’t have W2s for my prior return (because I’ve moved and my old W2s are not with me), but the rep just asked me what employer was listed on the W2, which I know. I had to tell what the income and withholding amounts were from my returns.
-
March 6, 2020 at 2:54 pm #4389709ProudFatherOF1
So I just got off with a rep and stated I needed ID verify. She stated a letter was mailed out so I’m guessing I’m waiting for that. Any idea what info they need to verify?
-
March 6, 2020 at 2:49 pm #4389707
@tev
That’s what they told me also so I guess we just wait unfortunately 🤬 -
March 6, 2020 at 2:48 pm #4389706
I requested for my transcripts by mail almost a week ago so hopefully I receive them tomorrow.
-
March 6, 2020 at 2:43 pm #4389702Tev
Still waiting as well…ugh so stressful. Finally was able to access transcripts online has processing date of 3/9 but some codes with dates of 4/15 so not quite sure. Was told i would be issued a review letter dated 3/16 and said would be 60 days from date on letter 😞
-
March 6, 2020 at 11:23 am #4389585Melyssa
Blah. I checked my transcripts today and i have code 971 now. I guess i knew it was coming since they told me it was under review -_-.. Im waiting for the TA to get back to me. They have up to 5 days to call.
-
March 6, 2020 at 9:52 am #4389527Jervon
I would just get a TA I was under review last year didn’t get my taxes til the end of May. I called irs twice and they told me different things both times they claim a letter is coming but never received one
-
March 6, 2020 at 9:34 am #4389505
Get access to your transcripts cause that’s how I found out today that my ddd is 3/11. WMR stil not updated and won’t update til tomorrow but I don’t trust that has much as my transcripts. I’m crossing my fingers for all that still have no news that you get an update tomorrow.
-
March 6, 2020 at 8:02 am #4389429
Just got off the phone with the irs and said that a letter will be sent out the 16th and I have to wait 60 days from that day. But last time I called I was told something different. So I feel like everybody is just being told something different by different people.
-
March 5, 2020 at 9:31 pm #4389289manny
filed 2/1 accepted the same day, filing with ceic and ctc. Haven’t heard anything from Irs but bars are gone and say still processing like everyone else. Should I call? I hope I don’t have a 60 day review!!
-
March 5, 2020 at 8:46 pm #4389288John
I filed 2/12. On 2/18, my bars all disappeared and I was left with the “still being processed” and Tax code 152. Once my 21st day hit(3/4), I called up the IRS because WMR had still not updated. Gentleman on the phone informed me that I had a DDD of 3/9 and that my refund was approved. WMR updated the next day, 21 bars complete, and now just waiting for my DDD of 3/9
Stay positive! And bug the hell outta’ them!

@ melyssa
I had a TA last year and got my refund at the end of April.
This year I got a TA as well and she said I should get my refund by the end of this month.I think it takes about 3 weeks to get your refund once you have gotten a TA to work on your case.
You are supposed to have a hardship but thankfully my TA never asked for any proof.

-
March 5, 2020 at 1:54 pm #4389157Melyssa
@ProudFather yes its 1-800-829-0582 ext 652. When they say to push 1 for english dont push anything. Just wait for extension option. Your wait shouldnt be longer than 15 min.
-
March 5, 2020 at 1:53 pm #4389153ProudFatherOF1
@Melyssa Do you have a number to speak to a real live person from the irs? My 21 days is up today?
-
March 5, 2020 at 1:44 pm #4389144Melyssa
I called them today and apparently im under review because they’re verifying my income. Which could take 45 days from the 16th but could take longer or sooner. Im on hold right now waiting to get a TA. This whole thing is beyond stupid.
-
March 4, 2020 at 6:47 pm #4388834Matthew Cooper
So I filed on the 2/04 bars disappeared 2/15 tax topic 152 and says still being processed. I called yesterday only for them to tell me they sent out a cp05 letter that I have yet to get. Idk what’s going on I have to wait an additional 60 days from the date of my latter
-
March 4, 2020 at 11:09 am #4388615Melyssa
@Kimberly call 1-800-829-0582 ext 652. Usually 7 to 10 min wait.

@kimberly
I was in the same boat no I for bars gone ..I called the irs a couple weeks ago and they said just wait a bit longer they were behing and nothing was wrong..the as of date on my transcript is 3/9 its mked back like 3 times. Then last saterday I got an ID verify letter so I verified on saturday and now I’m still waiting. If you call them they should tell u what’s going on -
March 4, 2020 at 7:27 am #4388493Kimberly
I filed and was accepted clear back on 1/23.
It has said processing for about 2 weeks now, without the progress bar, no change and I haven’t received any kind of communication indicating that there is an issue. I tried calling but it was just an automated line that told me the same thing the website tells me.
What is going on? What can I do? -
March 3, 2020 at 2:52 pm #4388104
I Somehow got a hold of Tax Advocate through a direct line she called me back within 30 minutes and found the issue and resolve that I will be getting my refund in two weeks
-
March 2, 2020 at 2:11 pm #4387411
Got theu to IRS and lady told me that my return did not transmit correctly thru Turbo tax and they are having to manually put it in. She said it was a glitch in the system with turbo tax. She said it is like mailing in my taxes. She said it usually takes 8 weeks from when I was accepted. So she told me to be looking for a refund end of marxh

We filed feb 2nd accepted the same day still no return . We were told no issues the first time we called .called again last week and now they said we should be receiving a cp05 notice in the mail sometime and said something about a March 16th date 🤷♀️. I think it’s bull that some people with earned income credit and the additional child tax credit got returns already but some people are still waiting and have no clue what’s going on
-
March 2, 2020 at 11:51 am #4387324
Accepted 1/31 nothing yet here!!! Transcript N/A lady at IRS told me last Thursday no issues. I have received no letters and I have no child credits nor EIC credits!! Tried calling IRS again today and can not get theu to many calls . Got a message saying call back tomorrow 😩. I have no idea what is going on but something is just wrong with all this delay this year
-
March 2, 2020 at 11:48 am #4387321Brandy
@Daiilyna we were told the same thing ..it’s basically they thoroughly check your return . I’m assuming because of the earned income and additional tax credit
-
March 2, 2020 at 9:00 am #4387193
I called the irs this morning and they told me that I would be receiving a CP05 letter, what is that?
-
March 2, 2020 at 8:27 am #4387186Shana
I filed on January 30. I still haven’t received anything.

February 29, 2020 at 10:03 am #4386258Sarah
E-filed and accepted 2/11/20. Bars went away, said still processing 2/20. Bars back this AM with a direct deposit date of 3/4/20. :)
-
February 29, 2020 at 7:41 am #4386152Squid
Submitted return 2/2, I had bars disappear near Valentine’s Day, got review letter the 20th and updated as of this morning have a ddd of 3/4.
-
February 29, 2020 at 5:25 am #4385980Troll75
I think that means it is actively being processed and a deposit is coming soon.
-
February 29, 2020 at 2:41 am #4386000Lovelygirl
@Erin I wouldve ask for them to resend the letter. it takes no more than 5 days to arrive. they sent yours on 2-20
-
February 29, 2020 at 1:21 am #4385988
Ive been without bars and stuck on still processing for about 3 weeks. Nothing else, no codes, and my transcripts for 2019 are blank! So I called today and finally got through. Was told to be expecting a 5017c letter they sent out on 2/20/20. Still waiting for it! Wish there was a way I could get this over with faster but I need the code in the letter to verify. Guess ill just keep myself busy and distracted with other things in the mean time.

Hmmm idk it was just weird i dont know how to read them i wish i could upload a pic to see what it means cuz it says eic with date of 4/15 and then says 2008.93 i might just call and ask thanks tho -
February 28, 2020 at 11:38 pm #4385954
This is a joke still shows refund being processed when I call they said they are sending a letter dated March 2nd2019 wtf is going on this year
-
February 28, 2020 at 11:25 pm #4385946Gofigure
Some people get DDD while letters are sent… autogenerated letters and things tend to correct themselves at the same time letter is scheduled to go out
-
February 28, 2020 at 11:20 pm #4385943
@Romero32 if I had to guess.. It’s just closing out your taxes for the year since 4/15 is the last day for people to file taxes on time.. But I really don’t know anything about reading transcripts other than the 846 with a DDD lol.
-
February 28, 2020 at 11:10 pm #4385942Romero32
@jazzthee
I have no idea thats why im asking my transcript has a 2nd date in april for 2008.93 but dont know what it means it says earned income credit so idk -
February 28, 2020 at 11:07 pm #4385941
@Romero32 …Why would you be getting another deposit?? Lol
-
February 28, 2020 at 11:04 pm #4385939Romero32
Ok i have a question so i already got my refund but. When i got my transcript it has another date of 4/15/20 for earned income credit and then my deposit of 2/26/20 i already got my direct deposit but does it mean in april i should get anothet deposit???? Im confused…..
-
February 28, 2020 at 7:29 pm #4385817ProudFatherOF1
@Melyssa Nope I just pay rent and paid cash for my car w/last years refund
-
February 28, 2020 at 7:00 pm #4385801Melyssa
@ProudFather. You have no auto loans\student loans or a mortage?
-
February 28, 2020 at 6:44 pm #4385796ProudFatherOF1
@Melyssa That’s what I figured I must read your thread wrong. But they said they had my w-2s just call back after 21 days. I can’t order transcripts since I don’t have a credit card or loans so it’s just a waiting game at this point
-
February 28, 2020 at 6:16 pm #4385780Melyssa
@ProudFather Dont think so. They need proof that what you’re filing is legitimate before they send you anything.
-
February 28, 2020 at 6:02 pm #4385771ProudFatherOF1
@ Melyssa so you can still get your refund even tho the IRS have no record of your w2?
-
February 28, 2020 at 5:55 pm #4385762Melyssa
So because im a worrywort and think of every possible bad scenario, I called IRS again and she told me she didnt see a code 570 but that i could be getting it because the W2 that i filed, they have no record of and that delay could be IRS trying to access it. I called my previous employer and she told me she sent that stuff already. No idea why IRS doesnt have it.
-
February 28, 2020 at 4:18 pm #4385680Melyssa
K i reviewed my past transcripts and ended up getting code 846 despite all those codes i listed below so hopefully it’ll be the same this time. Only difference this time is i have code 570 which is more processing time but hopefully it’ll work out.
-
February 28, 2020 at 2:19 pm #4385584Melyssa
Theres no offset. And i dont owe them anything. I think theres a freeze or something.
-
February 28, 2020 at 2:04 pm #4385574ddddd
Tax Codes: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/6209-section-8a-2012.pdf
Your codes indicate there is an offset, I think. -
February 28, 2020 at 1:36 pm #4385560Melyssa
Well unfortunately i dont have that code.. I see codes 150, 806, 766, 768, 570 at the bottom and it all is side by side with my credits. Idk what it means.
-
February 28, 2020 at 1:25 pm #4385547
You are looking for:
846 Refund issued 03-04-2020
-
February 28, 2020 at 1:18 pm #4385540Melyssa
Also have cycle code 20200905..idk what that means
-
February 28, 2020 at 1:09 pm #4385534Melyssa
So my transcripts updated but im not sure how to read it so i called and he told me they need an additional 2 weeks for processing -_- I saw several codes and a March 16th date but idk what it all means. He said no letters were sent.
-
February 28, 2020 at 10:11 am #4385369Brandy
So I just talked to IRS …we are being issued a cp05 notice . Probably because we have earned income and additional tax credit .she said she has seen a lot of reviews being issued this year . So basically it could be 45 days from wherever the review is supposed to take place which I think she said somewhere around March 16 🤷♀️ So we could get our refund sometime in April or May I suppose
-
February 28, 2020 at 8:44 am #4385277Brandy

February 28, 2020 at 6:57 am #4385161
So I was accepted on 1/31 for tax topic 152 still processing a week and half ago and called Irs stated that they never got my taxes until 2/5. Called yesterday and lady said she saw no issues still processing. I have N/A on transcript. I have no child credits nor earned income credits. So just waiting. I have received no letter

Melissa!
I’m having the same problem as of Monday February 24 I called the irs and was told that I have to wait until Monday March 1 because it’s just showing Tax Topic 152 witch means processing on there end also. Has anything changed for you? Please help if you have any answers that can be of any help thanks
-
February 27, 2020 at 3:45 pm #4384770Melyssa
I read somewhere that when your return is sent to the errors department, after its corrected, the process starts over again and it’s back to processing. Im on my 14th day and my transcript still says “no return filed” this is exhausting to say the least.
-
February 27, 2020 at 3:43 pm #4384767Melyssa
I call a day later and speak to a lady that sounded like she’d rather be anywhere but where she was at. She told me they didnt receive my return until the 13th..I told her that i was accepted on the 4th so that made no sense. She said they recieved it on the 13th and that my 21 days had not come yet..
-
February 27, 2020 at 3:42 pm #4384764Melyssa
I filed Feb 4th and accepted the same day. Next week after, my bars disappear with a “still being processed” message and the amount disappeared. When it was 21 days, I called and spoke to a dude that told me my return was sent to errors department but it looked as if they had corrected the problem and that it’s still processing.

I called the tax advocate today and since mine are in the error processing center I have to wait for a letter! I am past the point of being frustrated. Mwr bars are still gone with still being processed and tax topic still showing.

-
February 27, 2020 at 11:49 am #4384574Ck
@Bre,
I filed 2/2, the IRS says it accepted same day but turbo tax says it accepted 2/4, so I don’t know. But, bars disappeared on the 21st. No update yet
-
February 27, 2020 at 11:28 am #4384552Angel
@Rana
We are in the exact same boat but I called this a.m & they said Im under 60 day review!! Same thing last year, got my check while WMR still said it was being processed! Its ridiculous if u ask me!!
-
February 27, 2020 at 11:26 am #4384548Rick
Been updating this thread twice a day, sounds like a lot of people are in the same situation. My status bars went away Monday morning, switched to ‘Still Processing’, seeing the 152, still seeing the estimated return.
I guess I’ll just have to be patient and not call (as I’ll get the same answer as everyone else lol). Does anyone know what an actual red flag is at this point? Would it be the estimated refund disappearing/changing? a new code?
-
February 27, 2020 at 11:22 am #4384542Ns0513
Mine still says the same thing, still no update. I’m going o be requesting a tax advocate today. Still nothing in the mail and no codes added. They literally just keep saying to wait and it’s being processed. This is ridiculous.
-
February 27, 2020 at 9:09 am #4384380Bre
Filed in Feb 3rd accepted Feb 4 got a letter Feb 14 about accuracy bars disappeared Feb 23 no update and wmr still has refund amount and tt152 requested transcrips by mail..i guess I’m waiting like everybody else anybody else with this
-
February 27, 2020 at 7:49 am #4384301

Thanks crazy I still have being processed with no tax code just says we have received ur taxes and it is being processed with the amount I’m suppose to get back
-
February 27, 2020 at 6:58 am #4384227
Does anyone know when they will do another update again? Is it Saturday? Still processing with TT 152 this morning I have no credits just deductions. Transcript is showing nothing for 2019. As of yesterday IRS lady said just processing and she could not find any issues. Just a little confused bc she said they did not receive my return until 2/5 but turbo tax said I was accepted on 1/31. So According to her my 21 days was just yesterday. So just a little frustrated

Filed & accepted on 2/5 w/ both credits. Had bars & “being processed” until last week. Then bars gone and STILL being processed & TT152. Called today, system wasn’t showing much info, just that mine is still being processed. Asked about being reviewed, no just still processing. CSR mentioned she’s noticed ALOT more returns w/ credits are being reviewed this year. Hope this helps…good luck everyone!

You have to make an account on the it’s website. You will need a car loan number or credit card to verify your identity.

Very similar story here. Filed 1/29, accepted 1/30. Status bars disappeared 2/15. Eventually accessed my transcripts and saw code 570 with a date of 3/9. I called the irs and was told the 570 was a hold to verify my education credit, and to keep an eye on my bank account on 3/26 and 3/27 and if not but then, the following week. This all just makes me a little weary. Do I have any reason not to believe the gentleman I spoke with? Anyone else get a similar reply?

@ak151987
I believe that they are severely understaffed and instead of starting with the people who filed first, they just assigned a bunch of random tax returns to their agents, so that’s why it’s so messed up. They’re not processing them in order. My mother in law filed an entire week after me and hers were updated and approved last Saturday 2/22 and her deposit hit today. -

@Julie I’m waiting for a TA to call me within the hour. I don’t have any codes other than a 152 tax topic. So we shall see what they say…
-
February 26, 2020 at 8:02 pm #4383347
I just got over the phone from a tax advocate She told me since I had a eTIC and even though I filed in January they started looking at my return after 18 Februart Does anyone here know if that’s true
-
February 26, 2020 at 5:55 pm #4383049Julie

She said I should have my refund by the end of March, hopefully sooner
You should get a TA to see if there’s something on your end you need to do/ send.

I really find this “under review – wait 60 days” crap to be a lie, particularly as it pertains to people being told nothing is wrong with their returns and for just having topic 152 (which literally just means you are getting a return – that’s it). The IRS doesn’t have the staffing to do this many reviews. I think this is a canned response they’re just giving people so that they stop calling to be honest.
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:39 pm #4382703Ck
My husband does not have a topic 152, but I do. And we filed joint
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:39 pm #4382701Julie
@ jazzthe
So my TA just called and said the hold on my refund is because they haven’t received the W-2 from my employer ( same thing that they said last year). So she gave me the fax to send her a proof of employment letter from my employer and my last paystub for 2019.
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:32 pm #4382673
Yup! I guess we all will be waiting til April for some bogus review. 🙄
-
February 26, 2020 at 3:05 pm #4382589
Topic 152 absolutely means your being reviewed in some capacity if you dont receive your refund within the allotted 21 days theres a problem in my case it was verifying my wages so 60 day wait letter in the mail as of feb.26 2020 hope this helps☹😡
-
February 26, 2020 at 2:35 pm #4382509Rana
My bars disappeared around February 14th, and now it says my return is being processed and it gives me my amount I am getting back on the side. But, I do not have any codes and my return was accepted on January 28th. Should I wait and check again on Saturday?
-
February 26, 2020 at 2:03 pm #4382419
Filed on 1/30, bars disappeared after 2 weeks, no updates. I just called and was told I’m under review for “accuracy of information” and I’ll get a letter in the mail “blah blah blah” wtf does that even mean. I file the exact same way every year, what’s the issue this year???
-

February 26, 2020 at 12:15 pm #4382083ddddd
We all want smaller government until it’s time for the government to work for us. It sucks that you don’t have your refund right now, but take solace in that they will eventually pay you. Look through previous years. Same things have happened, by April the number of commentators goes way down to a few people. Be patient. I was hoping for an update today, still being processed and no tax topic, still have my amount. ID verified 2/14.
-
February 26, 2020 at 12:10 pm #4382066
Errors may not be in your return, but in the outdated IRS computer technology. You may not be under review. IRS is down 20% in their workforce and they cannot possibly meet the 21-day refund expectation. And instead of them telling you they don’t have enough manpower to process all the returns in timely fashion, they’ll tell you that you are under 60-day review so that you don’t bother with phone calls. And you may or may not see some confusing notices in the mail.

There are so many people being told they’re under review. That cant be right..they dont have the staff for that..the amount of people on this site is a tiny percentage of people filing..and they only review like 1% or something ..when I called they said nothing is wrong just wait. Did they just say that to get me off the phone…if I call back will they say ur under review just dont call back for 45 days. It’s so feustrating
-
February 26, 2020 at 12:04 pm #4382031Julie
@jazzthe
No I have not tried calling, do you know the phone number? All I know is code 570 means a hold on your refund. The code 570 is on my transcript.

February 26, 2020 at 11:49 am #4381978Jeanette
My fiances taxes still say they are being processed. He filed and was accepted on 1/27. We have not had an update in weeks. We are pathers. He can not pull transcripts because it won’t except any of his info for loans. Has anyone else experienced this?

21 days did not start till February 18 th. 15th a Saturday, 17 th. holiday. After 21 days I would call. Just a suggestion. If you call and too many times just like checking wmr website, you can set yourself up to be red flagged, fraud which leads to reviews. Iam just suggesting. Good luck everybody.

-
February 26, 2020 at 11:40 am #4381941JazzThee
@themona777 Julie, have you called the offset line to see if you owe any government agencies money? The 570 is additional liability or credit hold… Is the 570 showing on your WMR or on your transcripts? Where the hell is our letter from these jokers? It doesn’t take a week to get a piece of mail….
-
February 26, 2020 at 11:38 am #4381932Isabella
I filed and accepted on 2/4, EIC and ACTC.
I noticed last week that my WMR bars were gone. Monday 2/24 was my 21 days. I have the tax code 152 on WMR. I tried to pull up my transcripts but was locked out for “incorrect” information.
I am currently on hold to talk to an IRS rep. Will update what I am told. Estimated wait currently is 15 – 30 minutes. -
February 26, 2020 at 11:31 am #4381910actionjackson
This is too much of a coincidence that all the phone calls sound the same! I called this morning and they told me the same thing about being under review and expecting a letter. I never had this happen before!!
-
February 26, 2020 at 11:30 am #4381906Julie
I have code 570 with a date of 02/24 and also code 971 with a date of 03/02.
I was just told I’m under review. Nothing to do on my end at this time.
-
February 26, 2020 at 11:30 am #4381904Lee83
I just got off the phone with this very nice lady at the irs . I’m being reviewed !!!!!
45 days from 3/9 . Why are so many of us being reviewed?
I wonder if it’s just a lie and they just holding us til the last min. Something isn’t right .
Such a pain!!!!!!!! -
February 26, 2020 at 11:10 am #4381820Ann
I was told that mine is under review and I won’t know anything until they contact me by mail. I have to wait 45 days starting the 9th so essentially 60 days.
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:59 am #4381783
Omg @ JazzThee I was told the same thing letter mailed out on feb 20 and I haven’t received anything but my tax transcripts. I called IRS this morning they said my return is under review And I can’t do anything but wait I got code 570 too but no code after that
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:57 am #4381773Allie
Called for another update. My taxes have been sent to the error processing center. But the lady I spoke with can’t figure out what the problem is. As I didn’t have insurance through the market place but I had it through my employer. She apologized for not being able to help me but said I just have to wait for them to contact me via snail mail for more information or they would fix it themselves. Officially over it this year.
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:53 am #4381758Julie
That’s what I was told but I would like for them to review my account and see if there’s any missing info they need from me since the IRS isn’t saying much.
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:43 am #4381731Lovelygrl
No updated for weeks here. 45 day review no letter..
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:43 am #4381727JazzThee
A Tax Advocate isn’t going to be able to help you unless there’s something actually wrong with your return and since it’s just under review, they’re not going to be able to speed the process up (from what I was told by a TA).
-
February 26, 2020 at 10:38 am #4381708Julie
I was just told I’m under review and I will receive a letter in the mail. They said to call back if I haven’t received my refund by April 15.
I’m requesting a TA.

@angel
I’m going to be calling today and seeing what they say. This is beyond ridiculous. There is no reason why this many people should be having the same issue. I believe they are giving out false information, I’m just not sure which info is false and which is true. Are we just waiting for updates? Or are they really being held for review? -
February 26, 2020 at 10:10 am #4381578JazzThee
How many people have been told by the IRS that a cp05 letter was mailed out on the 20th and haven’t received it? This is beyond crazy with how many people are under review…
-

February 26, 2020 at 8:30 am #4381187Ns0513
That’s the confusing thing. Some people who have the same status are calling and being told that there is nothing wrong and to just wait for the update and others are being told it’s under review. This year is a total mess.
-
February 26, 2020 at 8:23 am #4381163
My bars were showing refund is being processed and I just got over the phone from irs they are reviewing my return and I should be getting a letter so I’m short being processed and still being processed it’s the same thing I guess

Yeah I was also told there was supposed to be an update today and still nothing. Mine is still stating “Your refund has been received and it is being processed.” All the info on the left hand side still shows. I’m going to call and see what they say.

February 26, 2020 at 5:20 am #4380433
My taxes were accepted on 1/29. Our tax return was very simple. Wmr bars gone around the 15th with “still being processed” and TT152.
I called yesterday and the woman I spoke to said there appears to be zero issues with my refund, but it’s being held for review and can take up 60 more days to process if they find anything wrong?
She said a letter was mailed to us on the 20th explaining why our refund is being held. I guess I’ll wait and see what that says whenever it arrives.
-
February 25, 2020 at 8:47 pm #4378852Brandy

Call IRS ASAP if your 21 days is coming up and you haven’t updated on WMR. I had that message and my return is being reviewed for 60 days.. Had I not called them, I would of never knew because the alleged letter they sent on the 20th, I’ve yet to receive. 18008290582 ext 652, they’re still open.

This is my daughter’s first time filing she still has the “still processing date will be available etc… we called today and they said because it’s her first time filing it’s gonna take an additional 2 weeks on top of the first 3 weeks for her to receive her refund does this BS even sound real???
-
February 25, 2020 at 1:34 pm #4377145RefundPls
@Yasharahla
Exact same situation for me. We filed 2/3. Yesterday was 21 days so i called irs. Spoke with a really nice lady. She said she saw nothing that would hold up our refund past next week and that it looks like its just a matter of waiting a few more days for the EITC to be applied. And to keep checking wmr for a date. So I’m hoping for a date this week. No later than Saturday I hope. -
February 25, 2020 at 11:09 am #4376613actionjackson

I called IRS this morning they told me mine was a mathematical problem that my tax preparer made a error on and it was delayed because of that and will be released by march 9th no later than the 16th or can be sooner like next week I would still get a letter explaining why but my taxes are fine. I am all smiles!!! Thank you Jesus nothing serious!!!

Check the TPG site!
Checked mine this morning. Cash should be hitting tonight but everything has been sent out.
The IRS site doesn’t update on time & believe they have sent your money and if you got an exact DDD it’ll come. If you got by March 2 , or March 3, you’ll be it no later than Saturday.
IRS next update will be Wednesday for the next batch of people that filed & accepted 2/3.How this helps.

My transcript as of date changed to march 9…I dont know if she told the truth but I would think if I was under review theyd have told me -

Wow I’m so frustrated. Filed and accepted 1/27, lost bars and went to “being processed” on 2/16 and nothing has changed since then. I’m thinking about calling to see what’s going on but guessing I’m most likely under review.

-
February 25, 2020 at 12:32 am #4375180Bugsy
Everybody that is claiming dependents get the path and topic 152. After that it should say being processed or still being processed. if it says Being processed it means they are just waiting on a DD date, if it says still being processed then they found a minor problem and sent it to a department that could hopefully make the correction themselves and if they can’t then it will say something else. But being processed is good news. Hope this helps some that are stressing out
-
February 24, 2020 at 11:52 pm #4375122Anitra
Same here. I filed and accepted on Jan. 31. When I checked it was showing one bar until last week now it says still being processed and refer to tax topic # 152. Fingers crossed. Hoping I see something soon.
-
February 24, 2020 at 11:33 pm #4375093Allie
My bars disappeared 2/22. Says your tax return is still being processed and a refund date will be provided when ready. So I just went ahead and called today and they said everything looks fine. It’s not flagged for review and to check again Wednesday 2/26 with the next big update.
-
February 24, 2020 at 11:23 pm #4375070
I got my transcript in the mail how can I tell if everything is ok with it online I have no bars just says refund processing with the refund amount and filling status

-

Hey. Anyone get a 5071C letter and bars still gone? How long after verification does it take for the return to be DD?
-
February 24, 2020 at 8:06 pm #4374496Ebominaj
Mine does not or was not saying still being processed… The last time I was actually able to log into IRS2Go app I had 2 bars and it said my return had been approved and I will receive them by 2/26/2020 and when I call the 800 number it still says my DDD is 2/26/2020 and that it’s still approved… So I’m confused as to why I can’t log in now there is no tax topic 152 on it and never was could I possibly be getting my return tonight?
-
February 24, 2020 at 7:46 pm #4374436Chris
Filed/Accepted 1/28
Had 1 bar and tt152 up until the 15th then no bars and “still being processed” message. Called the IRS on the 18th (21st day) and they said a small amount of my refund was applied to a debt owed from a 2015 return and its under review to check for anymore errors. 4 days later (22nd) I got approved with a DDD for 2/26. So having no bars and “still being processed” message definitely means your return was flagged and its being manually reviewed -
February 24, 2020 at 7:35 pm #4374391Ebominaj
My wmr changed to approved 2/22/2020 got DDD of 2/26/2020 checked today around 2am now wmr says they cannot give me any information on my taxes and when I try to log into IRS2Go app it says my information is incorrect and to try again… Why would it be saying that after I’ve already got approved and a DDD?
-
February 24, 2020 at 7:04 pm #4374295Dublin
Hey guys. So my bars disappeared 2/23. The same thing happened to me last year. I ended up getting my senator involved and didnt get my tax return until November. I called the IRS and was told that this years refund is ‘under review’ this is the same way it all started last year and I cannot believe I am here again :/
-
February 24, 2020 at 5:56 pm #4374056Ns0513
It makes no sense that they are reviewing so many random people. Feels like they’re just saying that so people won’t call back

I filed 1/27 got accepted the same day , had the PATH message up until 2/16 it disappeared along with my bars, I haven’t received nothing in the mail and no updates so I decided to call and was told I am under review and not to call back until 60 days after I received the letter.

Pretty upset. Fiancé E-filed and did everything correctly. As of today Feb. 24th she still doesn’t have a DDD. We got a letter in the mail today stating she is under review for one of the following (can’t remember exactly.) we just had a baby so is it because of that? Should we be worried we have too wait 2 more months for the review to go through?? WMR is showing no bars and it’s “still being processed” with tax topic 152 still showing. What do we do?
-
February 24, 2020 at 2:08 pm #4373264Brittney
@kc
Just called and got the same thing. On top of that it was just put in the review pile today but notice was sent February 20th. -

Does anyone know how soon you can get a TA?
-
February 24, 2020 at 10:17 am #4372379Ns0513
There’s also been several sites that have stated if it says “being processed” it means they’re in the process of setting up a deposit date, but if it says “still being processed” it means there was an issue and they sent it over to another department to see if it can be fixed. Most times if there is an issue the message on WMR would reflect information letting you know it was under review.
-
February 24, 2020 at 10:12 am #4372349Ns0513
@khico there was someone on here who said they had the same thing happen and then they checked WMR again and it showed it had been approved and their refund would be deposited by next week.
-
February 24, 2020 at 10:10 am #4372343
my return was accepted on 1/26 and my one bar disappeared on 2/16. I have been on “preceding return” with no bars or codes ever since. I called the irs this morning and they told me I am “under review” and my letter will be here March 9th. From that date, I am to wait an additional 60 days for my return. This has never happened to me before. Anybody else?
-
February 24, 2020 at 10:06 am #4372333Ns0513
I filed 1/29 and got accepted the same day and mine hasn’t updated either. My mother in law filed 2/5 and hers showed approved on 2/22. The whole system is messed up.
-
February 24, 2020 at 10:04 am #4372328Sarah
Really freaking out, everyone else who filed after me got a DDD of 2/26.
I e filed on 1/14
Accepted 1/27
Bars gone 2/17 or so
And it’s now saying still being processed, a refund date will be given when available.
What is this crap. I’ve filed the same for 4 years, never had an issue and got my refund every year on the 21st or 22nd. -
February 24, 2020 at 10:04 am #4372326Tee j
So my niece topic 152 has disappeared. She contacted the IRS and they told her they had to make corrections. I did her taxes and it was straight forward just W-2 and dependents and no other deductions. They told my sister the same thing but no one at IRS can see what corrections were made. Neither one received a letter. I find that hard to believe. They told her it would be 6 weeks before she receives her refund.

PATH Message
DDD showed on 2/21(DDD of 2/26)But I’m nervous because I check now and the app and where’s my refund website says it can’t find my information. Like I entered something wrong when I know I didn’t.
Anyone else experiencing this???

-
February 24, 2020 at 8:14 am #4371909Ns0513
Mine says “your taxes have been received and are being processed” there is no tax topic for mine either. When I use WMR it displays the info on the left, amount and how I filed, but it has not updated. I submitted my taxes on 1/29 and they were accepted the same day. Only had the bar for a few days before it disappeared and it hasn’t updated since.
-
February 24, 2020 at 7:51 am #4371815RefundedNow
I got a DDD of 2/26 WMR updated this past weekend and my transcript had updated Friday. This season is blessed as last year took them a 365 days on a audit. This year was nice and smooth 👍🏼
-
February 24, 2020 at 7:50 am #4371809
@tx2020 did yours say processing with no tax topic?
-
February 24, 2020 at 7:47 am #4371796
I still have it as refund processing no tax topic just says refund processing with the refund amount and filing status as head of house hold no idea what that means
-
February 24, 2020 at 6:56 am #4371684Tx2020
My bars disappeared also but refund amount still showed. After mass updated 2.22 I got the bars back with approved and a Ddd March 2. Which is what the email I got from hr block had said after I was accepted. Also I have a tt about an offset which I knew about so im guessing that’s what caused my review. Hope this helps. Good luck!

-
February 23, 2020 at 5:10 pm #4370281
How long after you got your refund approved notice did it actually take before it appeared in your bank? It says to be sent by the 26th but I’m curious if it could show up before that
-
February 23, 2020 at 2:33 pm #4370004Melyssa
@Scott. Did have topic 152 when your bars disappeared?
-
February 23, 2020 at 11:55 am #4369803Scott
I had my bars disappear for about 10 days. Then I received a letter saying I needed to verify my identity. The letter said after verifying that my return could take 9 weeks. 3 days later, the site shows approved and I should have money next week.
-
February 23, 2020 at 9:00 am #4369621Ava
Filed 1/17
Accepted 1/21
Bars gone 2/10 with still processing message

I filed on 01/27, got accepted the same day. WMR had bars saying “accepted” until this passed week. The bars have been gone for about a week, says “We have received your tax return and it is being processed”, no TT152 and no DDD date. I got my state return direct deposited yesterday, nothing on the Federal yet, Filed EITC and CTC.

Filed on 02/02/2020 for the last 4 days I had TT152 and no bars at all, just “still” being processed. Yesterday my expected amount finally showed up on the left side of the page, this morning finally got my bars back and a ddd. Went about 4-5 days with no bars and no movement at all. From my research I “THINK” when your bars are gone it’s because a human is going through your return to approve or fix it.
-
February 22, 2020 at 9:41 am #4368048Jenny
Filed and accepted on 1/30. On 2/21 (yesterday) Status bar disappeared and status changed to still being processed tt 152 on WMR. Checked WMR this morning and status bars are back. Says my refund has been approved with a DDD of 2/26 so the still processing status doesn’t always mean you have something to worry about. Good luck everyone!

-
February 22, 2020 at 5:18 am #4367509Ella
Filed via TurboTax 1/22
Accepted 1/23
Status bar showing “Accepted” until 2/15. After 2/15 Status bar disappeared and had Tax info explanation 152 explaining PATH hold.
Checked daily and still nothing. On 2/19 the 152 tax info. disappeared and I’ve got the “being processed” msg.
I checked today and status bar is back and I’m approved and getting DD 2/26!

Hi everybody… so I was accepted on the Jan 27th had 1 bar until February 16,… now saying refund is being processed with no 152 code… But I also received a letter in the mail saying the same thing… it says if I filed a return I don’t have to do anything I’m ok, but this process can “possibly take 60 days” … have anyone else received a letter like this?? should I be worried??

Filed mine electronically 1/29, checked the mail today no letters. I used credit karma tax, been doing so for years now. Just see the same old message received and is still being processed. Using the same bank and so on. My return is as simple as they come nothing that should take extra time. Read they are usually sent out on mondays, Idk about that. My friend filed on the 21st got his within the first week February.

What’s happening on the 22nd? I saw some people said that war will update on Saturday…..why Saturday?
-
February 20, 2020 at 6:23 pm #4362900Oz
I had the status still being processed last year and it was not so good for me. I have found if you are having anything come out of your taxes like a federal debt it usually takes longer. This year it still is telling me being processed so i am hopeful it gives me a DDD Friday. I love and hate this time of year.
-
February 20, 2020 at 2:49 pm #4362439Tee
Where’s my refund should update on the 22nd and everybody should start seeing dates so don’t be worried about the site error it’s just something going on with it cause everybody is seeing the same thing no bars, return is or still processing, topic 152, no topic 152, bars, no bars, refund amount, no refund amount it’s happening to alot of people so just sit back and wait the site will be updating soon and dates will be up and visible soon also

I had the bar disappearing issue. But called turbo tax and karened my way to a manager. She said that it disappeared meant that it would probably be deposited tomorrow. Normally people get it within 72 hours.
On a side note Colorado decided to just randomly ignore my direct deposit info and mail a check. Ugh thanks guys. *giant eyeroll* -

A few people I know has the message “We have received your refund and it is being processed” With no T152 topic, Has received a letter Stating there under manual review or more information is needed. I dont know whats going on this year but I can tell you they are not playing this year. So please do not call the IRS or inquire about your returns because they will flag them and I know from experience. But keep your head up and stay patient, hopefully their just behind.
-
February 20, 2020 at 2:46 am #4361318Bugsy
I found a site that says lookout for the wording, “being processed” and “still being processed” mean 2 different things. Being processed means they are just waiting on a deposit date whether your daily or weekly and still being processed means they sent it over to see if it could be fixed by another department for whatever error they found on it
-
February 19, 2020 at 10:10 pm #4360616Carlos Otero Miranda
Same thing happened to me.
Tax topic 152
And no bars -
February 19, 2020 at 7:14 pm #4360236Felisha Gartley
My bars are gone and have been since the 15th. No TT152 anymore but refund amount is still on the side. I am a PATHer. Filed early as well. Should I be worried?!
-
February 19, 2020 at 5:56 pm #4360102Travis Macasaet
Tax Topic 152 means you’re getting a tax refund. … The IRS has given guidelines this year that 90% of tax filers should receive their refund within 21 days of filing. The IRS works weekends during tax season, so it’s 21 days, not “business days”. If you want a good estimate, check out our tax refund calendar for 2020

-
February 19, 2020 at 2:59 pm #4359695
@SESSY
Did you have insurance through the marketplace at all last year? If so, did you file a 1095-a?
I’m following the exact pattern as you and I think that’s my problem. I didn’t get my form or email reminder until 2 WEEKS after I filed and TurboTax made no reference to needing it. Was my first year on the ACA so I was clueless. TurboTax really dropped the ball.
-
February 19, 2020 at 2:43 pm #4359654SESSY
Filed on 1/28/20, refund was accepted the same day. On 2/17/20 orange status bar disappeared and message read – Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.
I have no code in the box, it does show my refund amount. I’m pretty sure I should of had my DD as off now. Not sure what the issue is as I’ve never had this problem before! -
February 19, 2020 at 1:17 pm #4359484Taxed to the max
@Yaze
I have the exact same thing. Thats good. It means you’re done. No code = no problems. Anyone getting incorrect info has an offset coming. And anyone claiming eitc that still has topic 152 has a verification letter coming. It should’ve disappeared when PATH got lifted. You’re a just waiting to get a deposit date now. Thats it.

On 2/14/20 orange status bar disappeared and message read “We have received your tax return and it is being processed” There is no topic code just the short message. Anyone get this same message? I see a lot of people with the same message but none with this message…what does it mean?

I filed 1/28 and was accepted the same day. Bars disappeared until today 2/19/20 and show refund approved. My direct deposit date is 2/20/20. I checked my transcript before this morning and it had the code 846 refund issued 2/20/20. Strange year for wmr but I I found my transcript to be more reliable than wmr.

I had the still processing last year for 2 and a half weeks then ddd, I was a pather. In the next week you will get ddd, irs is behind again like last year. After 10 days of return if you don’t get a bad code or take action, you should be good. And p.s. don’t call the irs till after 21 days are up you can red flag yourself and checking wmr page too many times also , fraud. Just suggesting. Good luck everybody.

Filed early and accepted ( do not remember exact date)
1/27 received letter they need 1095a along with form 8962
2/4 Faxed forms
2/7 bars disappeared with “still being processed” and tax topic 152
2/15 “Still being processed” but tax topic 152 disappeared.I am also a PATHer, EIC and ACTC
I have never received the path message.I am in “wait and see” mode right now. I do not think so many people would update the same and have issues at the same time. But, that’s just my opinion. Who knows the reasoning but since there is a website dedicated to all this I would say there is no rhyme or reason to any of it. Each case is different.
How many people want to bet people that work at the IRS read this everyday and Laugh there A$$es off LMAO

Ditto here. Another 1/29 filer- woke up this morning with no bars and “still being processed”. Still have refund amount but no topic code.
Odd this seems to be happening to so many people who filed on the same day.
The no TT code has me a bit worried though. I haven’t gotten a letter and none is on the way (checked through Informed Delivery).

@Chris I read on IRS.gov that it is not necessary for you to provide that information with your return, however the IRS has to wait for your employer or the center for Medicaid services to send those forms to them.

@Heidi You might be right, my employer did offer me health coverage. I think I did get some forms in the mail about it last week, I didn’t file that with my return and the IRS might want that form

There is a massive thread on this topic already. You have this because the IRS cannot guarantee your refund in 21 days. Could be for a number of reasons, more than likely it will update with a DDD, but some are receiving letters from the IRS requesting some information, and some are under a manual review process. No one here knows exactly what gets flagged or if it is random.

I recieved the same amount of refund on side bars gone on wmr changed from being processed to still being processed, with tax topic 152. I heard that if you have forms 1095B or 1095C that maybe why we are getting that message

Same here. Same everything. 1/29, no path message, and today changed to “still processing”.

I have exactly the same. I filed and was accepted 1/27 TT. Had processing 1 bar until 2/14 when it went to no bars TT152 and still being processed.

Same here, filed/accepted 1/28, had one bar and tt152 up until the night of the 15th, bars are gone, says “still being processed” with tt152 and refund amount on the side.
Its either we’re approaching our 21 days and they won’t be done processing in time or its getting ready to update with a DDD. Last case scenario is the computer flagged it and it’s under manual review. I haven’t gotten a letter either
