Will 5071c letter affect stimulus check?

I received the 5071c verify id letter and verified 10 days ago. There is still no update on wmr, no tt, no bar, transcripts N/A. Does anyone know if this will affect the next stimulus check? I received the first two with no problem but now I am worried about this. Does anyone know?

I am replying to my own post as I would like to ask a question. Has anyone who received the 5071c letter this year and verified online received your $$ yet or do you have a ddd showing on transcripts? Are you able to see your transcripts? Thank you.

@ohiomomx3 Thank you for your reply. Wow, you had to wait a long time to get your refund. They sure can take right away it but not when it comes time to give it back. Luckily, I did file in 2019. They still have not processed my 2020. I will keep this post updated. Thanks again.

I had to verify last year did it in mar because of the covid shut down and I didn’t receive my refund until Dec. And because my return was not done processing I didn’t not receive my stimulus until then also but It was also my first year filing so I didn’t have a prior year return they couldn’t go by that but as long as you filed a return last year they will go off that but if you didn’t you will have to wait for your 2020 return to get processed before you will receive the stimulus

@thicks I’m hoping they process my 2020 return soon. I closed my bank account that I had my 2019 refund going to so I ended up getting my 2nd stimulus on February 11 via check. I then filed my 2020 return on 2/12. Now I’m stuck in the “error” department and praying everything gets resolved asap. Such a nightmare.

The IRS will probably finish processing your return and send your refund before the next stimulus. But if they don’t, they’ll use your 2019 return.
