Where art thou’ 846??

Does the 846 code post based on cycle codes too? Or are our transcripts processed based on cycle codes and the 846 code can happen anytime? My transcripts updated overnight with an as of date of 2/21/22 and cycle code 20220505 with eic and ctc credit but no 846. Looks like I have to wait 2 more weeks for that path hold.

No. When you’re presented with the “please wait” screen. Let it sit there and it’ll automatically advance you to the next screen when available. It’s a queue system they have in place.

I personally received a 846 DD date that was 12 days prior to my as of date last year and years prior. But this is the first year I filed before path lifted. I was hoping we would all update over the weekend and see a dd for the date the path lifts. I have routinely received my refunds on Wednesdays for the past few years too.

@Tina oops that’s 2021 so that has nothing to do with this year’s refund. Probably last year’s refund. Look for one with 2022. My apologies don’t have my glasses on!

@artic.turtle you should get that DDD code by your as of date or your as of date will change to a later date. Just keep an eye on it. Prayers!

@artic.turtle I have the exact same as of date and cycle code as you, it seems it will process and provide a DDD by the as of date. So by 02/21/2022 you should have a DDD code with amount and date listed on your account transcript. I’ve always gotten my refund days before WMR bars update but the transcripts are timely. My only concern at this point is Feb 21 is President Day Holiday so I’m hoping it means they process us before the holiday and not after. Cheers!

Not sure why it would show March 1st. But most past messages state that the earliest would be mid to late February.

The date of 3/2021 was probably from the stimulus last year. You will get a 846 code with a 2022 date when your transcripts update for this tax season

ANYONE if our as of date is 02/21/2022 (President’sDay Holiday) does this mean we will process before the holiday or does that give IRS more time to process due to holiday???? Does anyone know the answer???

If your a path with transcripts showing consider yourself lucky. Chances are you’ll get your refund the week of the 15th or the following week

@Joyce98362 thanks for your answer ! Took me a while to find your reply!!! I have credit codes but no deposit code so waiting like the rest. Super concerned that the PATH message tax topic 152 says earliest deposit for PATHERS is March 1. I really hope I get it a week earlier by the grace of God somehow!

The as of date should be the same as your processing date. Mine is also 2/21/22.
It just means that they have until that date to either complete your return or change the date. I had it changing a bunch during last tax season. But this year so far is going pretty smooth. When you get a 846 code THAT is the day you will receive your return. Until then it’s just a waiting game.

I progressed from one bar on WMR to PATH message this morning. my blank transcripts online changed and filled in but no codes yet except 150. I did notice a few days before my transcript updated my star beside 2021 disappeared and N/A appeared where the blank transcript would be. Now I’m wondering if the as of date is the day the IRS will post your DDD or is it your DDD????

Exactly the same here and yes, we’re going to have to wait until after 2/15, but it’s better than not updating at all.
