So finally after getting an advocate my latest estimated rerun date is 12/25. They said my W2 Withholding was wrong, which same has happened to others here…. so I just amended using turbo tax and they said my refund will only be half of what it is now, but at least I’ll finally get a move on it. My advocate suppose to call NOV 5th.. so I’ll fax over my amendment beforehand so once they call I can tell them to get started. Just make up an hardship excuse if you have to, since that’s only way they’ll get you an advocate.October 31, 2019 at 4:07 pm #4331731
Nate, i finally gave up today, after I contacted IRS for them to tell me abt a referral again, like you guys know the referral ain’t work the first time 5 months ago when no one contacted me…. and after all the excuses of when my return should be released. so guess what? I’m calling to get a tax advocate because this is utter BS, it’s fkn 2020 in 2 months. Been on exempt last 3 months and will stay that way. Won’t let them run off with my money again.October 31, 2019 at 3:05 pm #4331730
Still here 🤦🏾♂️October 31, 2019 at 7:32 am #4331729
Hi guys, I’ve been here since February and was just told by my local senators office that my tax advocate informed them that the irs has agreed to release my refund. My suggestion to anyone still having trouble is to get your senators involved. They couldn’t have been more helpful for me. Good luck every1October 30, 2019 at 4:21 pm #4331727
I’m still here just been periodically checking in, but still nothing for me at all, unfortunately. Said an update should’ve happened by mid October but nothing lol of course.October 30, 2019 at 6:25 am #4331726
I finally received my DDD and it’s for today! 🤗🤗🤗 Its been a long time coming! 😁 A coworker received her refund last Wednesday! I’m so excited. They offset my refund of almost $1800 but who cares! (I really did 😏). It’s finally here. The tax company screwed up alots when filing it for me so my direct deposit wasn’t entered into the system and I’ll have to go pick it up when they call me but I’m cool with it for now. Feels like a child expecting Santa. Good luck everyone who hasn’t received theirs yet.October 29, 2019 at 1:42 am #4331724
Still waiting on check 🤦🏾♂️October 25, 2019 at 3:02 pm #4331721
My review closed on a Friday and had a DDD that Saturday for the following Thursday but I also have a TA. I don’t know if that changes things.October 25, 2019 at 1:50 pm #4331720
@cynthia its been about 3 weeks for me and still nothing. Hasn’t even updated on wmrOctober 24, 2019 at 7:55 pm #4331719
After the IRS closes their review and approve an amount, how long does it take to receive your refund? The representative told me 4 to 8 weeks. 😕October 24, 2019 at 7:12 pm #4331718
Have not received our check yet!! Still waiting!
Has anyone received their check yet after direct deposit was rejected from the bank?
How long does it take??October 22, 2019 at 12:30 pm #4331711
So I just got a call from my TA. I faxed over to her the signed letter that accepts the changes to my refund about two weeks ago. She let me know that she just faxed it over to the IRS so it will take them at least 3 weeks to update the system after they receive it. I feel like it would of been quicker if I had sent it to the IRS directly. It was supposed to be closed by Nov 9, now she is saying my case will be resolved by Nov 20🤦♀️October 20, 2019 at 9:37 pm #4331708
nothing😡😤October 18, 2019 at 9:11 pm #4331707
They said I will be receiving a check in a few days thank godOctober 18, 2019 at 8:46 pm #4331706
Just checked my mail box and the check is in 🤪😀October 18, 2019 at 11:06 am #4331704
Did you guys get your check yet? I am in the same predicament. They original account was closed so TA requested a check as well. WRM say direct deposit, WMAR says adjusted. So I have not idea where or what is happening. My DD was the 10/9October 18, 2019 at 2:22 am #4331703
well still here. No update no call back from my TA. Been leaving voicemail after voicemail and no call back. I remember when I posted saying I had a good feeling about her HahhahahaOctober 17, 2019 at 6:36 pm #4331702
Still here and waiting. As of date changed to October 28th, that’s really the only change I’ve gotten. What happens if I don’t get this years return and next years tax season gets here?October 15, 2019 at 1:18 pm #4331700
Finally got a DDD for 10/17 but TA request check since the bank account we had set up for direct deposit has been closed. We actually have an offset for my husbands back child support but it says payment is being made on the 17th on the WMR. We are not doing the injured spouse form bc we’d be using some of the refund to pay it anyways so now I’m wondering when will we get it??October 15, 2019 at 12:35 pm #4331699
Got my DDD today … they audited me without notifying me .. was suppose to get 2700 but got back 913 … big f u for this wait but something is better than nothing … wishing all of you to get yours soonOctober 14, 2019 at 8:35 am #4331698
Oh my goodness, sometimes miracles do happen. I finally got a DDD for 10/17. I signed my agreed amount on 10/4. This is finally done, Almost 10 months later, I, my friends, and going to the bar to celebrate this weekend. Good luck everyone, you need it more than me at this point.October 11, 2019 at 4:10 pm #4331696
I’ve been following this post since I filed in Feb. Went through 2 ID verifications, recv’d a 60 day notice ltr, contacted the IRS twice with no real info given. I went online & printed a form 2 request a tax advocate & faxed it to my local office in NC. 2 wks later I recv’d a ltr from my assigned advocate, which told me what was wrong with my return. This all occurred in June. Did amendment & the IRS recv’d it 7/1/19. They didn’t like my amendment saying they needed info. So with my advocate she sent me everything I needed 2 put 2gether & fax 2 her. The whole process wasnt long on her part only the IRS dept my paperwork had 2 go to. So finally 2day she called to let me know my refund date is 10/17. I called turbo tax to let them know & their bank & was told they’ll rec’v the refund, take their pymt then send a paper chk since I had omitted a # from my acct. Its been a very long time coming with a lot of cussing ppl out & drinking. Everyone still waiting, hang in there.October 11, 2019 at 3:37 pm #4331695
I’m still here as well…waiting and waiting.October 11, 2019 at 12:23 pm #4331694
@mariafelix after i signed the reduced amount and sent it back i got my refund deposited into my account about 6wks later.October 11, 2019 at 10:39 am #4331693
I’ve been watching this post since January,I’m still waiting on mine said I should know something by October 16, we’ll see. Since I didn’t get it the other three dates I was given. But the last time I called he told me he don’t know why they are holding mine nothing was ever wrong with itOctober 11, 2019 at 10:07 am #4331690
Well Nate … looks like it’s gone be me and you 🤦🏽♂️October 10, 2019 at 11:10 am #4331687October 9, 2019 at 8:17 am #4331685
@maribfelix also WMR did not update until about 2-3 weeks.October 9, 2019 at 8:16 am #4331684
@maribfelix after i signed and turned in form 4549 to my tax advocate it took about 1-3 weeks for me to get my return. Filed in January been waiting a longgggg time!! Its coming hang in there!!!October 8, 2019 at 8:42 pm #4331682
GOT MY REFUND!!!! MY DD WAS FOR TOMORROW OCTOBER 9TH BUT IT CAME TODAY AROUND 6PM. I HAVE NETSPEND BTWOctober 8, 2019 at 4:47 pm #4331680
So to anyone who has signed the agreement letter with the new refund amount… how long has it taken you to actually get your money?October 7, 2019 at 12:38 pm #4331676
I got a call from my TA saying they are reducing my refund by about 50%. I am so confused!! She said they are sending a letter to explain why they are reducing it, and as soon as I sign a letter accepting it, they will release my fundsOctober 7, 2019 at 12:34 pm #4331675
@jerry if you can get the employer to write a letter stating you were employed that contains the amount made and the amount withheld, that helps. I had to do that. It took 2 weeks for the update and they finally decided to release mine.October 5, 2019 at 4:36 pm #4331672
Still here guys. My state senators office has been my middle man to the TA who is STILL requesting information action from me proving my income. I’ve provided a w2, 1 pay stub and 2 copies of 2 checks from last year. I also provided my monetary determination from unemployment when I filed for that in 2018. Waiting to see what happens. 7000 dollars I thought I’d have back in March. Now it’s almost time to file againOctober 5, 2019 at 4:25 pm #4331671
Hey y’all my journey is finally over…got a DD for 10/09…and an interest of $116 😊.October 5, 2019 at 1:41 pm #4331668
Hey all!!! I can’t believe it but I actually woke up to DDD today! My money should be credited to my account October 9th!!!!!!!! Hang in there!!!!!!!October 4, 2019 at 12:59 pm #4331665
After the IRS releases your funds, how long does it take to go in your account?October 3, 2019 at 8:21 pm #4331662
So my TA was supposed to call me Tuesday. I called and got her voicemail saying she is out of the office until the 10th. She started out really good then nothing…😤 I am so frustrated, I don’t know what to do. I wont give up though because it’s my own fuc kn money and I won’t let them keep it. God I hope this shitstorm doesn’t happen again next year… which is only3 months away😂😂October 1, 2019 at 10:30 am #4331656

I agree with Lisa .. no matter what .. if you haven’t heard anything by now you should be ok … hell we can technically sue them with the know your rights act if they decide they want to keep our taxes … I’m just waiting on it because come January 1st if I don’t have anything, best believe I will be getting a lawyer .. fuck a TA and a counselSeptember 28, 2019 at 8:04 pm #4331649
To everyone who filed 1040 and has not received your taxes, just be patient. If you haven’t received a letter saying refund denied then you are still processing. No news is good news and regardless of your situation the IRS has to release all unattended matters these months moving forward. October is your month.September 27, 2019 at 3:55 pm #4331646
I got audited but my audit Was for me having to prove I was head of household, proving my kids were mine and proving I took care of them and also that they lived with me. (had to send school records, medical records, rent receipts etc). My audit was finally JUST closed on september 24th. Now just waiting for updates on my refund. But my TA says I should receive it no later than the 2nd week of october. But im not holding my breath I’ll believe it when i see it……….. Good luck to youSeptember 27, 2019 at 2:54 pm #4331645
Here’s the story. My uncle lived with us in 2018 I was pregnant bed ridden and needed help with the kids. I got 5 he payed half rent and utilities bought groceries so he claimed my 3 kids he was audited we sent everything they needed had until the 23rd to review and accept or deny. On wmr website it said in a orange box take action up until the 21st now it says we have recieved your tax return it is being processed still dont know if they accepted or denied there is no tax offset on record. Dont know how long it will process anyone have good news if they were auditedSeptember 27, 2019 at 1:07 pm #4331644
I was supposed to get an update from my TA yesterday. Nothing yet. i will be calling her Monday and see if she has any good news for me😭😭September 27, 2019 at 10:37 am #4331643
WOW!! Hoping you receive good news soon!! The IRS is screwing everyone this year!! Makes me not want to file next year!! As for me the ONLY update I have gotten is that the IRS closed my examination on the 24th. Still waiting for any update on WMR or from my TA. He says I should have my refund NO LATER THAN THE 2ND WEEK IN OCTOBER. So! We shall see!!!! Praying for everyone this shit sucks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!September 27, 2019 at 8:30 am #4331642
TA Assigned 4/28
Examination began 6/16
I had to mail in copies of my w2s, copy of my divorce from over 3 years ago and documents showing that my child lived with me last year. I have always claimed my son so not sure why that would be an issue. Received a letter last week stating that they have disallowed my son and that I owe a balance of over $1,500. Called the IRS last week about this and they said that this is an error, and they will look into it, they also stated that my TA closed my case last Monday with me owing the IRS. Now I can’t seem to get a return call from the TA (He is usually good about returning my calls, however haven’t heard from him in over a week now). This is beyond frustrating. I have claimed my son for 10 years, nowhere in my court documents does it show that his father is entitled to claim him. He pays $37 a month in child support, so to let someone claim a credit that is more than triple what he actually pays yearly to support that child is beyond comprehension.September 25, 2019 at 3:54 pm #4331636
I’m still here since 01/28, have waited through 1 60day review 1 60day referral wait time. I didn’t bother to call and I got a notice mid August asking for my paystubs. my as of date updated to an august date and 420 code. got another letter in the mail last week stating that IRS had received my paper work and I should hear back until 12/20 with completion. similar to Nate’s except I have to wait until Christmas. so the wait continues. I don’t bother to check the website hopefully I will get my refund before I have to file again. I honestly think that when other get a TA they try and push their stuff in to get done quicker and it delays the rest of us waiting. So I will remain on the back burner. I have gone exempt this year and don’t care to file next year.September 24, 2019 at 1:17 pm #4331629
So here’s my story because i need to get it out!
I filed January 31.
Accepted two days later.
Come March 10 I still have no federal refund or update on WMR, but my state comes through!
Fast forward another month, I get a letter saying I’m in review and that I have nothing to do at this time.
Two weeks later, I get the audit package. It says I need to send in proof of my kids and income to verify the information in my return.
I call the 1040 #, they tell me i actually need to submit, rent payment records, utility bills, Evidence that I have my kids, evidence that they live with me, and evidence of my address. DAMN that’s a lof left out of the letter! Person also is supposed to refer me to a TA. three weeks pass
No word from the TA, I call the TA number and they have no evidence of the account. Now, with a week left to respond to the audit, I pay a CPA to help me out.
We get the docs in by the end of june
mid july i call the examiner to check if they have my case documents. Nothing.
A few days later I get a 4549 saying that my refund has been reduced to ZERO dollars. (by thousands of dollars)
I call the examiner, wait 3 hours. Finally get a really helpful guy who explains everything to me and gives me his best estimate for a time table. I should get an actual 4549 around september 1, the first 4549 was a computer generated dud. Nobody had examined my file yet!
So, I wait. Letter arrives the 6th of september. This actually showed I was due more money! So I accepted the letter, faxed and mailed my response.
Currently there has been no update, but tracking on my letter says it arrived 9/15.
no update on WMR, no word from the IRS. Hopefully I’ll have a return soon!
This is all a garbage fire and my first bad experience with taxes. I had banked on getting the nice refund and decided to work part time and try to finish my remaining year of college. I’ve been stretched thin, but thankfully family has helped me out. They want me to get that education! Overall, the IRS really sucks and needs an overhaul. I never knew just how awful they could treat us, those who pay their wages!September 23, 2019 at 6:52 pm #4331626
Spoke with my TA on Friday and she faxed over some letter the IRS was meant to send to me dated the 27th of September. Anyways after doing my amendment in June turns out I couldn’t claim the American Education Credit anymore since I have already for the past 4 years. Anyways had to agree to the deduction of $1000 and she says it’d take them about one week to close the account and the system should update with 2 weeks after that. So I should be getting something in about 2-3 weeks but she’ll call back on the 18th if nothing has happened.September 23, 2019 at 5:46 pm #4331625
I also want to suggest that anyone who doesn’t have a tax advocate perhaps maybe you should try to get 1… I can say that mines has been some what helpful….September 23, 2019 at 5:45 pm #4331624
Hey all! I hope everyone is receiving good news from the IRS about their refund!! Just here to give a little update.. So I called my Tax advocate today and he said WORST CASE SENARIO is that I will have my refund no later than the 2nd week in October!!! Totally awesome right? So.. let’s see if its true!! I will be back to update if I receive a refund.
PRAYERS TO EVERYONE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR REFUND!!!!!!!! I KNOW ITS HARD!!!!!September 23, 2019 at 1:46 pm #4331622
My TA has been good so far. She has called me twice to keep me updated. She said the irs had a week to respond to their request of either approving the refund or to specify what more they need to get it approved. So we’ll see next week what they say. Talking to her has been great. She has been giving me really detailed information, which has put my mind at ease. Although she did say that the whole process would take about three-4 weeks.September 22, 2019 at 9:53 am #4331616
I couldnt imagine I have 4 kids as well. This just makes life hard especially becauee they can give two craps. Praying for you!September 22, 2019 at 9:34 am #4331614
Oh yeah lets not mention me and my 4 kids have to be out this house by September 30th!!!!!!!!! I really hate IRS ……….. Prayers that my refund comes sometime in October…..
@missy93September 22, 2019 at 9:33 am #4331612
I’m going to try and fax my NEW eviction notice tomorrow to my TA to see if that will get them push it faster but I doubt it. Pray for me guys!!!!!September 22, 2019 at 7:43 am #4331611
Have a similar story here as well. Just kept running circles around me. I even called sometimes and was told different information within one day. They could never keep their stories straight. My mom told me they held a lot of return to make our countries deficit looka better for the quarter. Seems like she was right since now they are all seeming to finally come through.September 22, 2019 at 5:27 am #4331610
I got an update a DDD on 9/21 for 9/25 and wanted to share my testimony:
Filed via TurboTax online 1/8
iD Verify Letter 2/19
iD Verified 2/21 online
Called IRS to confirm iD verification 2/23…had to re-verify on the phone
Called to follow up once a week…every week.
On 3/11 I amended my return after finding out the company i worked for had been sold mid-2018 and the name was changed on my w2.
IRS confirmed on telephone it was received 3/18
Waited he remainder of my 9weeks fro iD verification….IRS advised me on telephone that another 6 weeks was required to update amended return.
Called to follow up once a week…until 6 weeks was up
IRS advised that “for some reason” my original return was never processed…sent a “referral”.
At this point I cant even keep up with dates.
Continued calling once a week.
One week I called and was advised my entire return was on hold, but nobody knew why. I flipped out and hung up.
Called the following week, and found out my account had been transferred to a TA.
(we are into july now)
TA called to say i needed to do nothing and she would follow up at the end of the month.
TA calls on July 22 to apologize. Return was assigned but the return isnt being accepted due to “system error”. She (TA) says she’ll call back on 8/29
TA calls back on 8/29 (I dont answer, because i’m fed up) to notify everything was updated, but it will take another 4-6 weeks to process amended return.
I continue checking WMR, but have stopped calling IRS since I got the TA
Nothing has updated in 3 weeks since i heard (via voicemail) from the TA on 8/29.
On 09/21 i finally got a DDD for 09/25.
So, that’s my story… good luck to everyone else.September 22, 2019 at 4:20 am #4331607
I wish I did. This is the first year I have ever needed one. I am suprised they arent abke to get it sooner with you habing an eviction notice. I really hooe they resolve your issue soon. I would just stay on their asses. If you have kids twll them they will be honeless before those 8 weeks are up.September 21, 2019 at 10:57 pm #4331605
I have a TA. That’s how I’ve been faxing all my paper work too! I was put in for a hard ship around July 15th. Was told to fax the IRS more documents and I did and my TA and the IRS received my documents on July 22nd. 1 of the papers I sent in was an EVICTION notice. After that, on September 11th my TA told me that the IRS will be sending me an examination paper explaining the deductions to my refund. ( which they only deducted 1,150 ) My TA told me that after I sign it agreeing to the changes, that it will take them 2-3 weeks just to ADJUST my refund. Than yesterday I get a letter in the mail stating that I am due a refund
within 8 weeks!!!! Any ideas to get my TA to try to make it shorter?September 21, 2019 at 12:19 pm #4331603
So… called on the 18th my birthday. The irs told me 9 weeks before my refund was set to be approved… but i had a urge to check my wmr today and i have update on my wheres my refund!!!! It has been approved will be mailed by 27th. Now to wait and start watching the mail like a hawk. Praying it comes soon and praying for those of u still waiting for updates. God answers prayers. We just need to remember his timing is best, no matter how stubborn and impatient we are. Hes got this!September 21, 2019 at 12:01 pm #4331600
I highly suggest getting a TA. Call the IRS and talk to a person and ask them if they put in a referral for a TA for you. Make something up. Like your car broke down and you cant get to work. They will definitely help you move the process along faster.September 21, 2019 at 3:41 am #4331599
Does anyone not have a TA OR AMENDED TAXES?September 20, 2019 at 9:53 pm #4331595
So.. i just got a letter from the IRS after signing and agreeing to the adjustments to my refund… That i should my money within 8 weeks. We shall see. But Lord knows I’m hoping it comes way sooner than that. 8 weeks from now is freaking NOVEMBER wtf!!!!
@missy93 lucky you!!!September 20, 2019 at 12:13 pm #4331593
I was shocked honestly. Didnt think we would get our return til we got our next one. I filed an amended return as well. But they said they cant process that til my original was done because it was already in examination. I am only getting what I was original suppose to. My amended showed i should be getting another 2,000. My advocate wasnt sure when id get it though. But at least we are getting something. Dont give up though. Believe me there were a few times I wanted to. But I couldnt. We needed this money bad.
Stay on their butts for your money!!!September 20, 2019 at 11:14 am #4331592
@Missy Lucky you. I’m meant to hear from mine today. We’d see if they do call. Been here since February smh. Amended the return and everything and still nothingSeptember 20, 2019 at 10:52 am #4331591

IRS letter: Dear Mr Nate, we received your response dated 8/23/19. We should review your response by 11/21/19 and contact you again if we need additional information.
SMDH….THESE FOLKS I TELL YA!!! IT’S BOUT TO BE ANOTHER DAMN TAX SEASON!!September 18, 2019 at 8:30 pm #4331580
They told me they have 6 weeks to notify me or give me a deposit date.
I got a tax advocate should hear from them by Monday. Not holding my breathe for this return at all.
Although I hope your right.September 18, 2019 at 8:20 pm #4331577September 18, 2019 at 8:19 pm #4331574September 18, 2019 at 8:15 pm #4331571
I do have adjustments. I messed up a number on our AGI and so now I am here waiting and waiting. But i bet if I owed money they would of had that fixed the first time I called. Such a joke.September 18, 2019 at 8:09 pm #4331570
