OK, so my return was submitted on 1/19 and the status has not changed since. The WMR tracker said “Your return is still being processed.” Since today is day 21, I was able to call the IRS and find out what’s going on. The first lady I spoke to said that my return had been transferred to Taxpayer Protection and she gave me a number to call. I called that number and the gentleman confirmed that my return was being analyzed for Identity Fraud. I had to provide my SSN, DOB, Amount of Refund, and answer 5 multiple choice questions to verify my identity. The gentleman then told me that my return would be processed and that it may be up to 9 weeks before my refund is released. 9 WEEKS?!?!? I asked him how accurate that timeline was and he said that in most cases it should only be a couple of weeks. OK, fine… whatever. My biggest problem is that I had to wait 21 days just to find out the status of my return and answer their trivia questions. It would have been helpful if the IRS would have told me when they sent my return to Taxpayer Protection, and maybe I’d have my DDD by now. Let’s hope my refund is processed within two weeks now.

Good luck to everyone who’s had to endure the same treatment!

Well I just called the irs earlier. Filed 1/13 accepted 1/14. No bars, no return transcripts tt152 since 1/30!! Yep, I’m under review they need to verify employment/tax withholding/ss taxes. Such BS!! I called and got an advocate right away and even with their help it will be at least 6weeks……I feel like crying

Same issue, I never received an error code on WMR though.
My bars went missing 1/29 or 1/30 saying they were still processing,
a DDD date would be available soon,
                  Tax Topic 152
Called today (21st day) was told to cal 1-800 #
                  went through questions
                  put back in to processing
told to wait 9 weeks for refund before calling back
I am so angry at the IRS reps, I have called 3 times since my bars went missing to see why, every rep until this morning said everything looked good , no issues. on 2/8 rep said WMR was having a glitch and I should see my refund in the next 48hrs, crazy that they will lie to you just to lie. I now have an active case with a Tax Advocate to speed up my return. I recommend everyone get one with this Id issue, 9 weeks after the first 21 days is over ridiculous.
HAS ANYONE RECEIVED THEIR REFUND AFTER VERIFYING ID????????
