They took 300$ from my refund for 1200$ advance. It’s not free so expect some of your money to be missing when it drops.

@Yarget how did you get refunded. They made me upgrade to deluxe package even though I was significantly below the free filing income level. Called after I filed and was told they dont refund the fees. Maybe I should call again? But before or after I get my refund?

That does suck, sorry. We must watch out for bloodsuckers. I filed (in office), JH, last yr. They had 3 advance loan options. 1 or all (memory isn’t serving me), were interest free. I do remember the one I chose was 100% interest free. When I received my refund, the exact amount advanced was all that was missing. Seems deceptive practice on TT part. I’d file a complaint. I used them, yet took no advance. Last year I paid filing fees (JH has some of the highest), and loan. I hated seeing the minus in my refund. This yr, self prepared, no hidden costs/fees. Full amount in my hand. I paid a measly $40 to have state included w TT efile.

Good luck, file a complaint! I’ve heard of how they hide fees, or hide free versions (not transparent). They tried it w me, but failed. I was refunded $90 bucks.

So sorry to hear that! How long did it take for you to receive your deposit?
