When entering my W2 I got the message your employer held too much social security tax from your wages and get a new W-2. My question is do I have to do that? What if I don’t care about the extra $80 held from my social security? Can I just file it the way it is or do I have to get it corrected W2??

No. You don’t. Just proceed the way it is. The company I worked 20 years for always took out too much and I got that same message every year. I just went on without correcting it. It just means you paid in more than you should have but jt’ll reflect on your yearly SSA statement. No biggie.
