Ok, hear me out. For years, Turbo Tax hasn’t gotten been marketing the “get your return 5 days early” if you pay them an extra amount of money, about $30 I believe. HOWEVER, they know that if you choose to pay your TT fees with you refund, the money is going to go to SBTG first and then be sent to you, which means there’s no chance you’re getting your refund early.

Now, if TT knows your refund will have to go through extra steps before it gets to you meaning you won’t get it early, why even give customers paying with their return the option to receive their refund early. This feels like deceptive marketing and intentional fraud. If this happens year after year and thousands, if not millions of people are paying this extra $30 to get their refund early, yet the don’t, how is TT able to continue this practice????

Maybe there’s a piece I’m missing, but I feel as though this has to stop and the people who truly need their return early, are the ones most likely paying their fees with their return, taking advantage of people in need by “guaranteeing” they’ll get their refund early.

Seems like the real problems are all the trad banks whi homd that shit to the last minute. Ive got BofA and that money comes only on the day the file indicates. Every year I swear I gonna have it sent elsewhere, but alas, I dont want to upset the flow. Got DDD 60 hours after filing so I can wait till next week in return for not upsetting the flow

@colson425 as to your point, again read the fine print. You ask how can you get it early if the irs hasn’t sent it? They partner with a bank who covers the return. Once the irs approves the return and they verify that, theyre able to create a temporary loan. Swear people dont know how to read anymore smh.

Read the fine print, its 1-5 days early and if you dont get it at least 1 day early the fee is waived and the money isnt taken. Stop complaining.

Yes I agree just said this today. How can you get it 5 days early when IRS has not sent it yet. I don’t deal with them anymore
