IRS chief: Blame rotten customer service and data hacks on Obamacare.
“As I said two years ago, at the continued level of underfunding, the things that were going to suffer were going to be enforcement, taxpayer service, and ultimately … information technology,” Koskinen said. More than eight million phone calls to the agency’s customer service line went unanswered in the last filing season. Koskinen added that the agency hasn’t fully funded customer service for the last “three or four years,” and that about $900 million had been pulled from cybersecurity.
-The IRS is throwing a tantrum because their budget was cut. Trying to stick it to the little guy because the powers that be might have received smaller bonuses or perhaps had fewer vacation days last year. Lived in DC for many years, and let me tell you – the bubble of spoiled and entitled government workers is not to be believed. They are completely out of touch with what it is actually like out here in the real world, where we don’t get every other Monday off and cannot pull flex work weeks and don’t get all federal holidays as extra down time. Oh, and I would also like to add – that these IRS employees are EXEMPT from Obamacare. They get primo insurance through Blue Shield. So while they want to whine and complain that Obamacare has made their jobs harder, they should try having to buy an overpriced ACA insurance policy with a sky high deductible that is virtually useless.
Do not let the IRS treat you like are some peasant looking for a handout. Billions of dollars are spent to fund a CUSTOMER SERVICE department at the IRS. There are people who are paid to answer calls. The entire lives of IRS workers are supported by the government dole and they are in no position to disrespect callers. We simply want to know the status of a a bit of money that makes a HUGE impact in the lives of everyday working and struggling citizens.
Government “work” is not like the work that you and I know. If you and I don’t do our jobs, we get FIRED. When you work for the government and don’t perform, you get PROMOTED or shifted to another department.
