So, on my tax return it gives a different routing number and account number than my actual account since I had fees taken out of my refund.
Taxslayer wont give me a straight answers, says to call IRS, who says they’re closed. And it’s impossible to talk to an actual person at SBTPG. Anyone know how we’re getting our stimulus checks if you’re in the same boat where the direct deposit info listed on your return
forwards to SBTPG? -

SO, If I had fees taken out, but my return says my regular account info, I should see my stimulus direct deposited?

The IRS is required to mail a written notice to taxpayers no later than 15 days after distributing an Economic Impact Payment. This notice to the taxpayer will indicate the payment amount, whether the payment was mailed or direct deposited, and a phone number to call if the taxpayer did not receive the payment. The payment should be received before any communication from the IRS is received by mail.

Also, first round of around 50 million deposits are set to go out today.

The IRS will issue direct deposits to taxpayers that received a direct deposit.
An IRS-issued check will be mailed to taxpayers that received a check printed from their tax professional’s office or a debit card issued through Santa Barbara TPG.
Direct from SBTPG homepage. As long as your money was not issued on a SBTPG card you will receive a direct deposit. The IRS has your information.

Where are people getting this information about IRS not having their DD information? I called turbo tax and they told me that IRS did indeed have my DD information. I also checked my tax return and my DD was there. The only difference is that I had the adreement to let green dot process my refund to take the fees out (attached to return). The stimulus payment is not a tax return so that agreement is void in this situation.

I read that you’ll be able to update your information on the IRS website portal soon as it’s up and running

I wander If ppl wanted to get the stimulus deposited on thier turbo card you probally could put your routing info in the portal when they get it going I guess because it’s a reloadable card you can keep using. Might would work

The IRS is supposed to be sending mail to recipients BEFORE sending the economic impact payment, so I’m guessing that’s when they’ll provide information about updating DD account info.

My tax return has my regular banking direct deposit info…however I went thru TurboTax and am having fees taken out of refund in which I suppose they intervene the direct deposit when refund is released (I signed off allowing that when I requested fees to be taken from my refund). But, they are taking the fees out of my bank on the 3rd April because I don’t have my refund yet. Either way, they should have the portal up and running soon to out in bank info.

@rhood711, I’ve read (in several places) that those who got direct deposit for their refund will get DD for the economic impact payment (I guess they’re calling it that now, instead of “recovery rebate” or “stimulus check”) UNLESS they took an anticipation loan, paid for tax preparation fees out of their refund, or split their refund among multiple accounts. They would get a check in the mail in those cases. HOWEVER, the IRS is preparing a web portal for people to provide their bank info.

The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?
In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail….. -
