So at what point does the IRS owe us interest

Seriously, When they say nothing is wrong with your return and to just wait,while they sit on the money and collect interest. When do they owe us interest? If they were actually held to it, you’d think they would have more concern in getting people their money

It is longer than 45 days until they pay you interest. I know because they had to pay me and it didn’t start until after the middle of July.

After the middle of July and it is less than a half of a percent. Unlike when you owe them, after April 15th deadline you owe penalties and interest and the interset is a lot more than a half of a percent.
