pulled for review last year

Got pulled for review last year by indent protection unit, never got a clear answer why. What are my chanced of that happening this year? It took I weeks to get my refund last year.

I filed the 14th and last week when I called to check on my refund the woman told me I was under review. I know some say they were just trying to get people off the phone.

Since then I have gotten a DDD for 2/10 and can order both transcripts. Does this possibly mean I’m in the clear? Just wondering from anyone’s past experience?

You eventually get a letter
You have to call direct to get transcripts
You are told you need to ID verify by a rep

Many ways to find out.. It’s just a matter of if and when..

I was lucky called tricked rep into look at this years..
Said I need to ID verify and they were sending a letter

I haven’t had this happen to me surprisingly. Usually filed joint w/ spouse for years w/1 child. Then 14 yrs later we had another child, no delays. 2 tax seasons later another child, no delays and the next tax year another, no delays. Now we aren’t together so last year I filed HOH with 3 kids, no delays. This year I am filing same as last year and hoping for no delays. Its been 9 days and usually I do know a ddd by now, but being hopeful.

I know the horrors of needing to verify eic credits because my cousin went through it a few years ago. They did not get their refund until summer because of it. However, this was their fault. They had let their sister file their kids for some reason or another and I don’t think the sister legitimately cared for the kids. Having to prove things which are untrue isn’t an easy rhing to do. If I was asked to prove I have a right to claim my own kids I could have them what they needed by the end of their office hours…no problem. So, if things arevon the up and up or at least not complicated I bet the process isn’t as bad.

I was pulled last year and this year is the same..

I was pulled Saturday for EIC, I have seen a few ppl who have been pulled multiple times, and my tax advocate says he has a guy who has been put in review like 7 times in 10 years, so nobody is safe apparently. Nothing changed on our return and no one else has ever claimed our kids.

I was pulled 2 years ago to verify EIC. Delayed my refund until June. I am super nervous about taxes every year now. Last year mine went fine and had my refund in a matter of days. This year seems a lot slower and I am super nervous. Would be nice to know if you are exempt from being pulled if you have been pulled within so many years. However I am not sure that is the case.
