Is anyone else having trouble registering on the IRS transcript online account? After a full 24 hrs after being basically blocked, I still can’t register. It’s still telling me to wait 24hrs and it’s my third attempt. i don’t know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah I spent a good portion of the day talking to the online services help desk. When you can’t logon there’s an article on the website that explains that you can call the online services help desk and ask them to authenticate you but it’s a long process that involves tax assistance office, calling back and getting something mailed. I just asked for my 2017 transcripts to be faxed and when they said it wasn’t ready I figured I’m not done processing. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. I’m just going that route until they get it together.

@Kyle things may have changed this year. But I was going off years past. I was never able to order return until they were done processing. Yet I was able to order account at any point and it would come blank. Furthermore, I have ordered mine on the phone and through mail days prior to them showing up online last year.
So again, I am not saying your wrong because I do feel as though there is a glitch. However, saying you can return both transcripts and they would show up blank in the past is incorrect. Just read and of the forums from prior years, the golden ticket was when you were actually able to order your return transcripts.

Im also still locked out, been well over 72 hours, even though it states come back and try again in 24 hours..

Ordering your return my mail or phone does nothing. They will come blank. I was able to order before I even filed. Your return is not processed until you can view them online.

They use experian, and experian mask out all but the last 4 numbers on most account, go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com…get all 3 copies of your report, look on your experian report, and check for the account you used to verify with IRS, and see how they have it set up, then log back in and put it in using the way the experian has your account recorded, I have a auto loan and they are only using my last 4 instead of the whole account number, I too have to wait 24 hours

Something is definitely (different) this year. You can order your transcripts before you even file your taxes. 3 of my neighbors & myself all tried this and it said it would arrive in 5-7 days. Right after my aunt filed before she was accepted she was able to order her 2017 transcripts the same day. They will all probably come blank but it’s crazy all the same.

@(StephS)momneedsrefund I agree. I’m so irritated with the system. Maybe I should call and ask them to reset my account or something.

@DavidNYC I was able to order both my account/return over the phone the day after I filed. I’m sure they’ll be blank though. I think the IRS is doing a couple of things differently this year.

@Cantwait I think something is up with the site. I can’t even register. I got as far as sending verification email and it pretty much froze on continue. Not sure what’s going on. I’m going to try again tonight.

So I have a bit of a unique situation. I can’t view my transcripts online for this year, they aren’t available. However I can order both Account/Return by mail AND the phone. Is this an error that anyone else is having OR could it actually mean my return is done?

Worked for me, though I was only able to order by mail and not view online because it kept saying they wouldn’t verify my credit card or auto loan
