People with offsets or whose ever had one!!?

Okay so I found out about an offset when my state refund was taken. The remaining amount was FAR less than my federal refund. I should still get thousands back after the reduction. My wmr says my money was sent on the 22nd, still havent gotten anything but I’m not the only one. I know offsets don’t delay refunds. I checked my WMR this morning and it says my refund was sent to pay off an obligation blah blah..and that my adjusted refund is $0.00.?????? Makes no sense. Spoke to my tax preparer and she says that happens sometimes and it could change and then I’ll get my remainder later. Anyone ever experienced that before?

The balance of your refund, $3,763.97, is scheduled to be sent to your bank by March 1, 2018. If your refund is not credited to your account by March 6, 2018, check with your bank to find out if it has been received.
Please wait until March 6, 2018 before you contact us again as we are unable to take any further action until then.

Yeah I’ve called. Never says I have any debts or offsets. Probably because I don’t. WMR is completely unreliable this year. Even if I did have one, the remaining amount should’ve been sent to me by now. My Ddd was two, almost 3 days ago. Something else is going on.

I had an offset last year due to a debt incurred when I was previously unemployed. it came out my federal. I called the federal offset line and was informed of the exact amount. I got my remaining refund on time with no issues.

perhaps call the federal offset number. WMR seems to have gone to crap this year.

Thanks for that. Idk why I’m experiencing such a delay. I’ve spoke to a few people and now I’m hearing that I shouldn’t even have an offset! There is no offset, the people I thought would take from my refund don’t have the power to do so. It’s the state so they only took the state. Now I’m really confused lol. The treasury call center also says I don’t have any debts. This is madness.

Yes I have this happen a few years ago I was in the military and had a military credit card when I left the military like a fool I maxed out the credit card and when I left I never paid in the back since it was associated with the military and therefore the federal government they took it to collections their collections department had the power to offset my federal tax return and took it from that I got the remainder of my federal tax refund and a letter from the US treasury stating why I was missing part of my federal tax refund not much of a delay on the tax refund there was definitely an offset I deserved it and the bill was paid all is well
