Filed 2/11, accepted 2/12. Moved out of Oregon back in October, so I had to file as a part year resident. As of today, I’m still waiting. Tracker has had me on step 2 for weeks. It’s frustrating.

Filed 1/25, accepted 1/29, refund zeroed out overnight. Per previous years – I expect DDD on Tuesday, 2/20.

Filed 1/28/2024, accepted 1/30/2024, filed thru TT-status on OR where’s my refund says processing.
-
Just got Oregon deposit about 30 minutes ago.
EITC PATH and all that good stuff.
Filed the 24th and accepted the 25th of Jan.
Forgot to add, payed fees up front and it went to my Credit Karma card. -
Just got my Oregon state refund today on chime. Filed 1/19 accepted 1/22 have eitc ODofR website still shows processing. No fees this year used HR block free file
-
Wingback43
Filed 1/25 with TaxAct. Accepted 1/29. DOR received the return, which is being processed (2 bars) on Oregon WMR.
-
and State went in this morning, expecting federal to be later today!
Filled 1/29 -
Kind of annoying this year, its going to just stay on that middle bar until its been deposited :P Same for everyone I am assuming?

Hey everyone! Happy tax season! Has anyone had their state return rejected because of a “Oregon Federal Tax Liability Hold – Oregon Form 40, 40N and 40P Federal tax liability subtraction requires a software update”?
-
Hey all. Welcome back to a new tax season. Just wondering if anyone else is having troubles with the WMR for OR? I filed with TT on 1/30 went to accepted by OR on 2/14, but every time I put in my information it says that there’s no record of my return. 😫 I’m hoping it’s just a glitch because of our state piggy backing off Fed. With the dates from PATH.

Accepted 2/18/2020 and amount has been green on my online account ever since until this morning 2/28/2020 it went black 0.00. Hopefully this means it will be deposited Monday! It still shows as processing but the black 0.00 means they’re issuing it soon!

My money deposited into my bank this morning.
-
@macaila did you have turbo tax deduct fees from your refund? If so it could go through them first and then your Turbo Card. I would check TPG and see if they received it.
-
MaCaila L.
So my state says my refund was sent but I checked my TurboTax debit card and it’s still empty. How long did it take for yours to go through??
-
Mine’s been zeroed out since yesterday morning. Not showing as sent yet And nothing pending with Turbo Card or TPG 😒 Wishful thinking for Monday
-
It is one day away from it being exactly a full month since it was accepted. Still not zeroed out.
I didn’t even file EITC/Child credits in Oregon or federal.
-
Sms18
Yep, they’re pending in our accounts for Monday lol.
-
Sms18
Really hope it deposits today. Could use it this weekend.

-
P905
@ej
Yes i do, i was hoping it would as well. -
Ej
@P905 Do you have a traditional bank account? Took 5 days for mine to deposit last year but the amount went to zeros on a Saturday so was hoping for sooner this year.
-
This is extremely frustrating. Mine was accepted on 1/22.
1/22.
Balance is still green.
🤬🤬🤬🤬
-
Him
Never mind, got my answer but can’t edit post.
-
Him
Does the kicker come separately from the regular refund?
-
P905
Mine zeroed out yesterday, nothing deposited yet.
-
Ej
How long is it taking to deposit? Mine zeroed our this morning?
-
Kyle b
Accepted 1/30 balance zeroed out this morning and I’m awaiting refund still
-
Nizz
Has anyone whose tax returns were accepted 2/1/20 received their refund yet??
-
wingback43
Zeroed out yesterday
Refund in the bank (USAA) today -
DSCA
By blacked out you mean just zero’s right as in 0.00? Mine changed to that today where as yesterday I had my refund in green. Hopefully we see it here soon if that’s the case.
-
smeldred
How long did it take to receive a direct deposit after the amount blacked out to zero balance?
-
Sms18
Finally, mine and my boyfriend’s finally zeroed out. I checked like 2 hours ago and it still showed our amounts in green, so it was sent recently.
Hopefully I get mine as fast as everyone else did this week lol. -
P905
Did anyone with a bank account receive their refund? Or only people with prepaid cards?
-
acidgirltogo
My Oregon’s WMR never said money sent, but yesterday my account went from my green amount to blacked out zeroes. Netspend. Just got my Oregon deposit 3:45 AM PST. <3 At least it’s something.
Now just waiting for Federal to make a move.
-
They really don’t tell you about this stuff in high school. I mean I’m mid-20s now, but losing sleep over taxes coming back later than you were counting on? Year after year being placed in manual reviews?
Ugh.
-
SarahJean
Got mine on my netspend card this morning. Was really surprised considering Liberty Tax didn’t file my return correctly and they had to adjust the entire thing. N ow I’m just impatiently waiting for my federal. Can’t access my transcript due to never having a credit card or loan. Fingers crossed that they at least filed that right.
-
Devery
My return was accepted on 1/22.
It’s been sitting at “Ontime-Processed” since 1/27.
No alerts or letters, just a portal.
And others are updating before me.I really need to learn to stop counting on my refunds in any way.
-
Sms18
Not gonna lie, a little frustrating when people who filed after me update before I do. :(
Not much of a big deal, but it just sucks when I’m constantly skipped lol. -
Torahsissy
So i checked today and -not what i expected- it says refund sent!!! Actual Yippees now!! Should see it sooner that i ever imagined after that manual review message Thank you all for your responses!!

Both myself and my boyfriend were selected for manual review because TurboTax miscalculated the kicker this year. Saying it’s just the kicker issue, and nothing else/they don’t need more information, does anyone know when we might expect to see our refund? Really hoping it’s not months out like a lot of people are saying here, we need this money to finish paying off the rest of our piece of crap car haha.
-
Sms18
Torahsissy, two years ago I got manual review. If you have an account on the revenue site, check the correspondences. You’ll get the letter regarding what info they will need there before you get it in the mail. I didn’t get my money until almost May, but only because they took so long to send the letter and I didn’t check the revenue site for it.
-
DSCA
@torahsissy
Last years return got flagged for manual review. I didn’t get the letter requesting w2’s until March 16. Filed 2/5/2019. I finally got it 9/6/2019 -
Torahsissy
I just checked and i got selected for manual processing Yippee lol…what can i expect now?
-
Devery
It’s been green since the 23rd I believe.
Also, your return not falling under the PATH act (if it doesn’t) might explain your change in status. All I can say is I’m a touch jealous lol
-
Jenna
Can’t remember the exact day and unfortunately don’t really have time to check right now, but it would have been at least close to your same time frame.
Not sure how long yours has been green, but mine has been green for at least a couple of weeks before zeroing out today. On where’s my refund it’s the message stating it’s processing and that if they don’t need more information I should see the refund in two weeks, that has been there at least close to two weeks already as well.
I am not part of the Path act. Just a super simple single filing.
-
Devery
@Jenna
I filed on the 17th and was accepted 22nd. Mine is still reading green, no notice of impending alerts/changes from Turbo or within Revenue Online. How do your filing/acceptance dates compare? Just curious. Also, did you file for one of the PATH Act specifics? -
Jenna
Mine went from green with the amount to black and zeroed out today.
I did my taxes quite early in Mid January, so hopefully that means they are already planning on depositing it.
I know in previous years once it’s zeroed out you typically get the refund shortly thereafter.
Only concern this year is that TurboTax somehow miscalculated the kicker and I apparently have an adjusted return based off that (the amount in green never did match what TurboTax said J would get) there was a letter in my account asking if I want to appeal and saying how
I don’t care to appeal, I simply hope that doesn’t delay the money I am counting on and the amount that was in green and is now zeroed out.
-
Devery
They probably saw it was processing on their personal Revenue Online account. For example, after logging in w/ my email and pass, it shows “Ontime-Processed” with the amount in green.
-
acidgirltogo
@TheMizz – Went to the Oregon Revenue Website and created an account. I see the same now. Woot! Makes me feel better.
-
acidgirltogo
TheMizz – Where did you see this? When I go to the refund checking part of the site it says to come back after the 15th.
-
TheMizz
Return processing… Filed January 20th. Amount is in green.
-
Jenna
See there’s not much activity here yet.
With the 15th and Oregon finally starting to release refunds quick approaching, I would expect that to change.
With the 15th falling on a weekend this year (Saturday) and the following Monday being Presidents day which is a banking holiday, the absolute earliest I would expect to see refunds would be Tuesday the 18th. From that point forward they should start slowly trickling in.
-

-
Reanna Sunford
I filed and was accepted Jan 27th, website has been showing that I’m being manually reviewed but no extra info has been requested. Any one else in the same boat?

oregon revenue says sent chatted with banner bank say they dont see anything being processed or scheduld called the automated number say my state was processed and should see in 5 to 7 days. is there a reason why my bank couldnt see it.we owe irs almost 500 and my taxes are almost 8 will i get all of my taxes or some?
-

when should i expect to see a deposit? -
Ashley
I called the Oregon Revenue Department earlier today and they said that mine had a direct deposit date for tomorrow which is down today the 26th so we shall see
-
Hillsnut
my status is showing “return processing” with a
” We’re processing your return. If we need additional information to finish processing your return, you’ll receive a letter from us. Otherwise, your refund should be issued in the next two weeks.”
how long does it usually take to zero out/ move to the next stage ? -
EJ
Hilary,
Same situation. Website says zero and no money in my account. Not sure what to think. Return says processing on the website also. Hope we both get some answers -
Hilary
No change since Friday when DOR balance zeroed out. Still nothing pending at my bank and DOR still says Return Processing.
Beginning to get really frustrated as my return was accepted on 2/3 and no manual review or additional information requested from me. -
EJ
@just me I filed on February 8th. I checked the status of my review multiple times but it said I was in manual review. I made an account on Friday to see what I could find out. Suddenly I’m not in manual review anymore. Says my refund should be issued in 2 weeks. It showed the amount in green. As of last night, the number is black and is zero. Hoping that means they sent it.
-
Just me
Anyone file 2/7/19 and get a OR refund yet?
-

Mines say sent and is on the last circle but I called and I still have a balance of 0 and there’s no pending deposit I don’t know what’s going on can anyone help or is anybody going through the same thing

TipTip. It will be Monday. Ours is pending in our account as of this morning, but it won’t be released until Monday. Super bummed seeing that money sitting there and we can’t even touch it, but it’s still there and I’m relieved.
Now if only the IRS would hurry up and work on federal as well. -
TipTip
I’m still waiting for my deposit. I bank with BECU and they don’t “have” a thing for pending deposits or something like that… so they post deposits as they get them. Perhaps I won’t get my money until Monday or Tuesday of next week ☹️

-

How many days did it take for the money to show in your bank account for those of you who went from a credit refund to $0? My WMR changed overnight and now shows $0 but at the same time the site still shows processing..
-

-
Sms18
Hillary, I wouldn’t consider our refunds delayed (other than the standard delay to the 15th) unless it’s been more than 2 weeks after the general hold ended. So, if come March you don’t have your money yet, then it would be delayed.
-
Hilary
Submitted initially on 1/30, via TurboTax. Rejected the next day with no explanation. Contacted DOR and was told there was an issue with TurboTax, not necessarily the actual return. Resubmitted on 2/2/19. Accepted on 2/3/19. No messages, except the standard “Your refund should be issued in two weeks”. Two weeks would have been Sunday. Monday was the holiday. I would have expected my refund today. But, the amount is still bracketed and still “processing”. No additional messages via DOR online about needing any additional information. If everybody’s refunds are going to be delayed for some reason, they should put a general notification on their website.
-
Nessi
I think state will require me to send my W2s again witch will delay my taxes till April…. bummer 😩
-
Jen
Rich,
I didn’t see any kicker info when I filed through TurboTax, I heard we will get one on the 2019 tax year. -
Rich
Mine was selected. Did anyone see any information about the kicker on their forms?
-
Sms18
Jen, last year my return was under manual review and I didn’t get my money until may. I’d filed with the child care credit and had to send in documentation. They will probably be sending you a letter of some sort whether it’s about a specific credit or just verification. Check your messages in the revenue site.
-
Jen
Is anyone still getting the Manual Peocessing screen ?
-
TipTip
I am still waiting too! Waiting on state and fed both! Good grief! My refunds must be in route to build the wall 😒
-
Jk
My amount disappeared Friday the 15th but says still processing
-
Jen
Mine still says Manual Processing with the refund amount in green and bracketed.
-
Big Tex
still nothing for me, checked this morning and still bracketed with the same message that it should be out in about 2 weeks
-
Tara
Has anyone received their Oregon tax refund yet? Thx
-
Big Tex
Submitted through turbo tax the day before federal filing opened up, and my refund amount is still bracketed on the DOR website :( hopefully it will come through in the next week or so
-
M. Kelly Dixon
So I just checked my account on the Oregon DOR website and it shows that I have a positive balance for my oregon state return that was accepted 2/3 hoping that means I’ll receive my return on the 15th when they start issuing them.
-
marcy e mcnally
I only filed my taxes for 2018 a week ago, but it occurred to me that in this day and age of everything being automated…it shouldn’t even take a single DAY to process peoples tax refunds, much less weeks. Either the state tax workers are lazy or the system needs to be amped up a little. Just sayin’.
-
ksbw
Do you have your own portal, and if so how do you get to it on their website?
-
Sms18
So, I want to give a little bit of info I was told when I called yesterday. Turns out, the holdup is due to the department of revenue not receiving income information from places of employment. Whether your employer slacked, it got mixed up, whatever, it makes it hard for them to verify. So they give a time limit on when they verify by employer before sending it out to us. Seeing as they generally don’t get a copy of our w2 when we file, only what we input ourselves, it makes sense.
Hopefully everyone else still waiting gets an update soon. -
Sms18
Finally an update! It shows it was processed and should get it within two weeks.
-
Sms18
Anyone who’s had to submit proof of childcare, how long did it take before you were given a final update?
-
Sms18
Well, I just submitted documents for proof of child care. Hopefully they’ll accept everything I spent days collecting between myself and the babysitter.
-
kmpts7
well they finally loaded a letter to my portal. apparently they think i didn’t include some tax credits for the federal tax liability. which is crazy since i used the numbers from my fed filing in order to do my oregon filing. so they are now reducing my refund by $80. seriously. all that payroll and crazy from the state to get $80-it cost more than that to calculate it. BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT IS WRONG! i looked at my fed return and i did use the number from there. but the reduced it anyways because they think i “qualify” for a larger deduction than claimed. just because i may have qualified doesn’t mean that i took it. ugh. whatever. hopefully i should get my smaller refund in the next few days. so stupid.
” We adjusted or denied the federal tax subtraction to the federal income tax after credits on your federal return. Your federal income tax after credits may have been decreased if you qualified for a larger federal standard deduction than you claimed. “
-
luis
my amount went to 0.00.and no longer under manual review…. finally after 11 weeks of waiting….:-/ ..
-
kmpts7
the state’s latest reply:
At this time I do not have an update for you regarding your 2017 tax return filed, no notices have been issued. If you do not receive a request for additional information or your refund after 12 weeks we may be able to send an update inquiry to our processing area on your behalf. Unfortunately at this time we do have to allow additional time for processing.
ugh. so stupid. they say to allow additional time, but do not say WHY.
-
kmpts7
sms18- ugh. that sucks. im glad i kept all my child care stuff. but still ridiculous that the feds deposited my refund within two weeks of filing and here we are MONTHS later trying to figure out what is going on stateside. ill scan all of my stuff tonight to have it ready to load via the portal. thank you so much for updating what you are going through. it really is helping me to be ready for the next steps! :)
nessi-right?! ive been filing since 14, (almost 30 years!) and have been doing “electronic” filing for about half that time. this is also the first time ive had any hold up.
-
Sms18
Just an update, they’re requiring proof of the child care credit. So, no good update for me just yet. Frustrating that the state isn’t satisfied with my filed return but the government is. My childrens sitter already filed and reported what I paid her, of course they have no issue taking the taxes owed from her without proof of childcare, but can’t go forward with my return without extensive proof. I can get it sent to them, but this is ridiculous.
-
Nessi
Kmpts7 I have to and in both of my w2s. I was shocked, they gave me some story like because i do my taxes online they needed me to send them. I’ve been doing my taxes since I was 17 and never was asked for them from the state revenue before. Idk I’m just glad they are on the way now. Good luck!!
-
Nessi
An my amount went to 0.00 like normal! It’s on its way!
-
Nessi
My portal updated no longer under manual review 🙌🏾🙌🏾
-
kmpts7
SMS18- so glad to hear you were able to actually get an update! we just moved into our new house, so I’ve updated via the portal our new address just in case. we didn’t have any 1099s. Only W-2s. I’d be surprised if they needed a copy of a W-2, but at this point who knows. Seems like they are really behind the times in comparison to other states. Please update once you receive your refund, I’d like to get an idea of how long it should take us. Thanks!
-
Sms18
Nessi, if you have a scanner and laptop/computer, you could scan the needed documents and submit through The portal. There’s an option to “submit documents”. It took me a minute to figure it out myself. I sent it in 2 days ago and they’ve received them already. Hoping it’ll update Monday or tuesday.
-
Nessi
@jessica143 I tried that they said follow the directions on the letter that said mail the documents. I mailed my w2s yesterday 🙏🏾🙏🏾
-
Sms18
Jessica143, its confusing for me because I never even saw my amount like every one else, I have no idea what to expect. Driving me crazy. I was able to submit my documents through the portal and hope it’s enough. Now just to wait for it to all go through without anymore issues!
-
jessica143
Everyone getting the letters for W2s and 1099s submit them online through the Revenue Online portal!!! They get reviewed in 2-3 days if that, you can track it to see if they have been processed and then you should see your amount zero out and then they issue your refund quickly. They actually owed me more money so I got a letter a few days after I submitted my documents saying they adjusted my refund. I got the letter online on 4/5 and it was dated for 4/11 and my refund was deposited on 4/10. Got my letter in the mail on 4/2
-
Sms18
FINALLY got a letter in the mail. I talked to someone on the phone, he did mention that these letters will not show up in the online portal. I’m very relieved it’s just my w2 and 1099r they want, it would’ve been a huge hassle gathering info for the child care credit, which I can provide, but still a hassle.
Hopefully I can get these documents submitted quickly and get a better update soon!! -
JeepDude
Worst-State-Ever!
I have lived in Oregon most of my life and have always had to pay extra each year, never a refund. I’m now retired and didn’t work much extra last year and finally get a refund of almost $200, mostly thanks to the kicker. I filed on Jan 28, and just received a letter today asking for w-2’s and 1099’s. WTF? 10 weeks after I file they want copies of documents they should already have? Do only people getting refunds get manual processing? Mexico is sounding better all the time. -
jessica143
My refund was sent this morning. It matches the date on the offset adjustment letter I received in my online portal last Thursday or Friday.
I highly encourage anyone getting letters and requests for additional information to submit them through the online portal. It is much faster than mailing anything back and it allows you to see when it’s been processed.
Good luck everyone!
-
Sms18
I’ve tried calling and they won’t tell me anything. I may give them a call again today.
-
jessica143
SMS18 – I would call them. The letter they sent about needing additional documentation never showed in my online portal. It just arrived in the mail.
I thought it was odd because they should have all W2 and 1099 info because it is sent to them electronically by the employers and other agencies that issue them. When I called Thursday I was told they did not get my 1099 from the agency that issued it and that’s why I got held up in review.
Might be worth a call to see.
-
Sms18
Jessica143, I have some hope.
That’s awesome you’re getting progress! I filed 1/29 and am still stuck at 0.00, never seeing my amount in green and manual review. Hoping I at least get a letter or something soon. -
jessica143
My Revenus Online portal updated this morning. I submitted the documents they requested from me electronically through the portal on Tuesday, they got processed in a day or two and I logged in this morning and my amount was $0.00 (green previously) and I had a letter stating my refund was more then H&R Block had said it was going to be.
Looked at the Where’s My Refund status bar and it no longer says manual review it just says processing and if a refund is due it should be issued in 2 weeks. I have 2 or the 3 blue balls on the status indicator filled so just waiting on them to actually send the refund now.
Filed 2-15 accepted 2-16 and have had a green amount now for almost a month. Finally got the letter on 4/3 and submitted requested documents (one 1099).
Hope everyone that is still here starts to see some progress too!
-
jessica143
Hey Everyone,
Quick update…I am in the same boat as Luis…I just received a letter today dated for 3/30/2018 requesting copies of W-2’s and 1099’s that show the taxes I paid to Oregon. Being as I only filed a tax return to get my kicker check benefit since I was a resident in 2015 and 2016, I only had a 1099-G with very little tax paid to Oregon from the Unemployment Department. I called to verify that this is all I had to send in along with the letter signed and sent back and the lady told me “yep that’s it”. There is no way to submit this online or fax it. I have to SNAIL mail this back. ONE FORM! Less than $300 in taxes paid to them and I can’t believe they don’t have access to to another state departments forms that were sent out. WHAT THE HELL!This is crazy. I filed almost 2 months ago and this is where it is currently at. Waiting on one form and I am not even a resident anymore. I have a feeling that others who have seen their amounts in green indefinitely will be getting this same letter.
Oh and they couldn’t even be bothered to post this on the Revenue Online portal so I could have seen it as soon as it was sent and acted on it faster.

Kmpts7, I’m not sure. This is my 4th year filing and every year I’ve gotten a refund and never had this issue. Only thing that makes sense is maybe the state is so broke they’re putting off refunds they can’t afford to pay out right away.
-
luis
got a letter today asking for a copy of w-2 .. and refund amount…
-
kmpts7
SMS18- I am in the same boat as you. Its super frustrating. I have not once seen the amount show up, it has always been zero. That being said the past two years I have paid money to OR, this is the first year we have gotten any refund since we moved here. Maybe since we have traditionally paid every year (my husband was putting the wrong withholding down on his W4) our file is flagged since this year they owe us money? I’ve actually emailed and called and gotten no where with the state. When I asked if they could explain why it was in manual review or what stage it was in on the review…I got the same pat answer “Some files take longer than others”. When I asked if there was anyone I could speak to or email-I was told no. There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with my file, but who knows at this point!
-
Sms18
It would be nice to see a positive update from someone who HAS NOT seen their amount even show up. I see everyone has at least seen their balance. I’m extremely discouraged guys. It’s been longer than 2 months now.
-
Kayla
Amount zeroed out 3/29. Deposit pending my account for 4/2.
-
Kayla
Checked mine this morning. Amount zeroed out finally. But still says manual review processing. Hopefully it will be deposited soon. Fingers crossed.
-
Nessi
Oh yes no letters/alerts
-
Nessi
I’m happy you got yours @jimmy503 that gives me hope lol my amount is still in green it looks like (xxx.xx)!! This is so irritating but I can wait thank God I didn’t really need it for anything….
File date 1/19 accepted the same day I’ve been seeing manual Review since then and my amount has always shown more than what hnr bock said I would get it’s never showed (0.00) in green .
-
luis
still green… no letter… file d 1/30
-
Kayla
Mines still green also, no info nor letters. Filed 2/2
-
jessica143
Amount still shows in green filed and accepted 2/16. Still says manual review but no letters
-
Jimmy503
Refund deposited today
-
Sms18
Jessica143, maybe, but it isn’t the first year this has happened. I’m going to look into that though.
-
jessica143
One of their employees just got caught uploading 36,000 personal files to their personal cloud so I’m wondering if that is creating any sort of hold up? Article said if you were affected you would get a notice in 7-10 days with an identity theft offer.
-
kencalrod
This is third straight year Oregon has flagged my tax return for manual review. I file every year in February and the first year I never received my refund until August. Last year it was June. Here is the funny thing, I have a pretty straightforward return and they have NEVER asked for additional paperwork and there has never been a mistake or error on my part.
-
Sms18
Has anyone else not even seen their amount yet? I see all of you have at least seen your amount shown in green. Mine never did. It’s been at 0.00 since day one??
-
Jimmy503
Yep same
-
luis
no updates yet… green amount for 7 weeks now…
-
jessica143
I still haven’t gotten anything but an amount listed in green. Filed and accepted by 2/16. Not even a resident this year but had to pay to file to get my kicker for living there previously. They are stalling with the kicker check money it seems like. My refund isn’t even that big so I’m not sure what the hold up is.
-
fedupwithODR
Has anyone received a tax return that was manually reviewed? It amazes me that not only can the department of revenue not provide answers, they are not being held to the same standards as Joe public. There are horror stories of returns taking 4-5 months in prior years and I personally would like to know what to prepare for. Next year I will adjust deductions to owe the state and when asked for a payment, I will tell them that there bill is under manual review and could you wait 12 business weeks before inquiring to payment whereabouts.
-
Sms18
This is a really bad year… people had this issue last year too, but it’s a first for me. I’m almost losing hope that I’ll ever see my money. Not happy with our state government!
-
Jimmy503
Another week and nothing. This is the worst year…
-
jessica143
Still same for me too. What does the green amount mean? I’ve had that for 2-3 weeks now. I know it’s good when it zeros out and pays you but if it’s still showing a green amount does that mean they’ve determined your credit and now it’s just sitting there waiting to be processed?
-
Kayla
I filed feb 2nd. Got federal return about 10 days later. Still waiting for states manual Review. Ugh. Amount still showing green.
-
Nessi
@sms18 I’ve been calling they say they see the same thing we see and they don’t have further information
-
Sms18
Still not a single update since shortly after filing.
We should start calling them for answers. This isn’t right. -
Jimmy503
Another week and nothing.. No letters refund amount still in green.
-
luis
same here.. still waiting…
-
Nessi
Still waiting
-
jessica143
I’m still waiting. Still has amount in green but still shows under manual review
-
Sms18
Not here Jimmy503. :(
-
Jimmy503
Anyone get any update?
-
Jimmy503
Another week pasted and no movement.. This is terrible. Anyone else call in recently?
-
Nessi
I’m still waiting for my state this is the longest I’ve ever had to wait. If they are doing them manually they need to hire a bigger team it should not take this long I did my taxes 1/21 I got my federal last week this is bull 🙄
-
luis
got my federal refund on the 16th.. still waiting for state refund..
-
Sms18
Same here Noah.
Jimmy503, last time I tried to call they just tell me they don’t see anything is wrong, every one processes differently, and it hasn’t been 12 weeks yet. They won’t tell me anything else. -
Jimmy503
Still waiting for amount not zeroed out. Got federal a week ago. No letters or messages on my correspondence section. Showing manual review. Anyone call and find out?
-
Noah
This feels like the longest wait ever!! I received my federal on the 22nd, just waiting on OR now.
Like most my status is showing processing, manual review. I am also showing $0.00, never had the amount..The one time I actually get money from OR ugh 😑
-
jessica143
Refund amount still showing in green as of today…turned green 6 days ago, but my status still says manual review. No letters issued. This seems like it’s taking a really long time.
-
Sms18
Nothing here for me. My amount still never changed from zero, still showing manual review, not even a letter or message on the website (I have an account). My boyfriend has his pending in his bank account and he filed around the 8th. This is ridiculous.
They won’t tell me anything. -
Jimmy503
Still nothing. My girlfriend filed and accept 2/1 dd 2/21. My amount is in green and has not zeroed out. No correspondence letters. However I believe there is a offset but that is not showing. Only thing that it’s showing is under review.
-
Martin
If you want to know if you have an offset or other pending letter, etc. I highly recommend you create an account on the Oregon Department of Rwvenue site here:
https://revenueonline.dor.oregon.gov/tap/_/It is a bit difficult to navigate, but if you examine the Unread Correspondence/Correspondence.
Well done!
-
Martin
Oregon
1) Filed 1/26 – Accepted 1/29
2) Manual Review indicates on Where’s my refund page after acceptance
3) Created Department of Revenue Account online 1/16
4) Read letter online on 2/19 via account correspondence link on Oregon Department of Revenue site that was dated 2/23 detailing offset (State OHSU balance & wife’s federal student loan)
5) Account showed $0.00 balance on 2/19
6) Refund minus offset direct deposited on 2/21Surprisingly quick, considering there were both state and federal offsets.
I am a happy camper.
-
Jessica
Well hmmmmm…. I never got a letter, but I sure have a feeling they look my refund. I have a school bill I’ve been paying on, but I never got a letter. There goes that money! Oh well, now my school bill is almost paid off at least!
-
Jenna
Got my direct deposit today. Day after my balance went to zero.
-
Jenna
@Jessica I believe they send you a letter if you have an offset.
-
Jenna
Wow 2-17 and just got it today. I don’t remember it taking that long typically once it goes down to zero (though could be mistaken on that) Hopefully it only took that long because of the weekend and President’s day. I say that mainly because mine as of today finally shows zero.
-
Amber
Got mine today. Account went to 0.00 on 2/17.
-
Jenna
The amount in green doesn’t necessarily mean much.
I filed and accepted on the first and since the second it’s been in green for me and once the 15th and the state hold on refunds passed, I honestly expected a deposit within days, yet still waiting. It has also said ontime-processed that entire time.
A more accurate gauge is when it goes down to a zero amount that is *usually* a good sign that a deposit will take place soon.
-
Jessica
How do you know if you had a state offset?
-
jessica143
Filed 2/15 and accepted same day. Went into manual review a few days later and when I checked my account this morning there were no updates but when I checked this evening my refund amount is now showing in green. Does this mean it will get sent soon? My refund status page still says manual review but on my account page it says OnTime – Processed under the Period Activity section.
-
Jessica
Ok! Woooo!!! Finally says refund approved and will receive my refund in 5-7 business days! Filed 2/1. My online account doesn’t show 0 yet, though. Getting there!!
-
KC25
Anyone have experience with having to send proof of daycare payments? And how long a refund took to receive after providing all documentation requested?
-
Sms18
Good luck everyone. Looks like my manual review is legitimate for whatever reason, still not a damn change on my account. I’m giving them a week to give me an update before I start really bugging them.
Anyone got a good email to contact them??? -
Amber
Still nothing here. Account went to 0.00 on Sat 2/17.
-
Jennifermany
Refund deposited around 1am , filed the 27th excepted the 29th.
-
Oregon refund hit at 3am on Bank of America no fees out of state.
-
Sms18
Well, I don’t know. I decided to call because I’ve never even seen my amount showing on my account, which strikes me as odd considering people who filed after me saw their amount pretty quick. The woman briefly said something about my account being “suspended”, she was confused because there were no letters sent out… put me on hold for a minute then picked back up giving me the basic “everyone processes differently, call back in a week if there’s nothing from us still.” Lady was very nice, but I’m tired of getting absolutely no information. Plus, I filed the 26th, why the heck is it taking so long for even my return amount to show? And why is my return suspended??
-
Amber
Filed 1/29, Accepted 1/29, was in manual review with total amount showing until 2/17 then amount went to 0.00 and says they’re processing my refund and I should receive it within 2 weeks.
-
Jessica
Filed and accepted 2/1, still says manual review and my balance is in green with ($xxx). One of these days….
-
Sms18
Lisa, do you see your amount on the revenue site yet? On your account?
-
Lisa
I filed and was accepted 2/7. Mine still says its under manual review….any thoughts?
-
Sms18
When did everyone file? Mine was accepted the 29th and I’m seriously envious of everyone seeing updates. I’ve been in manual review since I was accepted (filed the 26th) and have never even seen my amount show up, stuck on zero. I was told last week there are no issues but I don’t believe that anymore. I’ll be upset if my boyfriend gets his first, he just filed on the 8th.
-
Sms18
It’s just bogus they make us wait. It was already discovered that the PATH delay in federal returns was not effective this year, fraud is worse than ever. Makes NO sense to delay people’s money at this point. Ridiculous oregon has followed suit. While I’m not dead broke and will do just fine without my money right now, at least keep us up to date on what’s going on. Tired of seeing no movement whatsoever, when they want us to pay our taxes right away anytime we have any sort of income with no leniency.
-
Amber
Trinity, when did your balance go to 0.00?
-
I checked my taxes, and it still shows manual review. I created an account and logged in, it shows my balance as $700 (my refund according to tax act was $575, so there’s a difference of $125, so I assume Kicker??) I printed my Tax Act Oregon taxes and I didn’t have anything in the kicker fields so I bet that’s what got me kicked into Manual Review. Now the waiting game as to when they’ll deposit into my account.
-
Trinity
Got my state this morning :). Wooohooo there is hope!
-
Marcy
I have been waiting about a month as well. It is TRULY frustrating living in a tourist town and watching all these state workers (and other pencil pushers) coming here because it’s a three day weekend and acting all carefree when, as far as I’m concerned they need to be in their offices working on tax refunds.
It’s ridiculous frankly. Any other business and there would BE no holidays at ALL during whatever season it happened to be in. Why do they schedule some stupid meaningless holiday in the first place JUST after they start processing refunds on the FIFTEENTH ??? It’s clear they get their jollies by keeping people waiting. Well, maybe I’ll just take my sweet time responding to the jury duty notice I just got if they want to play waiting games. I’m beyond annoyed at this point.
-
I always get it within hours of Federal and since my DD is set for the 22nd for Federal, thats when state will come in.
Others getting it earlier probably didnt have credits. Oregon state was waiting until the 15th. :(
-
Sms18
Andrew, Oregon recognizes today as a Federal holiday, and the revenue is not open on weekends or federal holidays. They may have shown it’s sent, but it could take a couple days.
-
Sms18
Anyone know how to check for state offsets? Like a number/website to check?
Hoping for an update tomorrow. If not, I’m going to call and see what’s going on. People who filed before me are seeing some sort of an update, I’m seeing nothing. -
Andrewp
Well, i use netspend and they do deposits every day. Unless the state doesn’t send deposits on the weekend or holidays? That would be cool, I kinda already accepted it having been offset, so getting it would be a pleasant surprise.
-
Jenna
You have to keep in mind that we just had a weekend and today being President’s day is a banking holiday.
Wouldn’t automatically assume an offset quite yet.
-
Andrewp
Oregons wmr site has said refund sent since friday. Still no funds. I’m thinking my refund must have been offset. Anyone know how long it would take to get an offset notice in the mail?
-
Chart
Filed and accepted 2/2. Online it says manual review but when I go into my actual account it says return has been processed and I have a credit in the amount of my tax refund. I know they were holding till the 15 th but has anyone got a deposit yet or called and got any info?
-
Mike
I just checked my account, and the account balance has moved down to zero. Yesterday it showed my refund amount in green. If I remember correctly in prior years, I’ve gotten a deposit shortly after this happens. The tracker still shows me as processing. Never mentioned manual review. Here hoping!!!
-
Sms18
I checked the comments from last year guys. Plenty of people saw the same exact things we’re seeing including manual review and got their money around the 22nd. So rest assured, as long as you don’t see any alerts/letters on the revenue site and you don’t get any letters in the mail, we should be getting it soon! Worst case scenario we get a paper check, but the wait for that is like 2 business days. A lot of people didnt even get any updates until after they got their money. Oregon needs to upgrade their system!!!
-
Sms18
I filed on 1/26 and got accepted the 29th and I still haven’t updated past manual review and haven’t seen my amount on there at all. I don’t understand. Last year I got it on the 25th of February and filed january 25th. So I hope I see it around that time this year.
-
Jenna
Mine still hasn’t even gone down to zero. I filed fairly early (filed and accepted on 2-1) so was hopeful it would this weekend based on them supposedly processing in order received, but doesn’t look like it’s going to be.
Maybe on Monday.
-
Amber
I was in manual review up until yesterday, now my account shows 0.00 and that my return is being processed and i should receive it in 2 weeks.
-
michelle
Has anyone got their refund yet
-
Jenna
From my experience once it shows zero a deposit is imminent. Would be surprised if you don’t have one by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
Mine still hasn’t gone to a zero amount, hoping it does over the weekend.
-
Trinity
Balance was at 0 yesterday, was hoping for deposit today, but as of now nope 😣, literally ridiculous!!
-
Andrew
My refund has been selected for “manual processing.” This is the third year in a row.
I always file early and feel like this is the punishment for doing so. I don’t understand why this is the case but could be that much like everything, Oregon is just slow and takes their sweet ass time. My return was accepted on Jan. 29th. Hopefully the funds are deposited SOON. -
Sms18
Well I gave them a call just to make sure there were no issues. The nice woman checked and said that no letters have been mailed to me, which is a good sign, that some people are just still seeing manual review. They’re processing refunds today and people should start getting them between tomorrow and the end of the month. Refunds are sent in order they were received and processed, so earlier you filed, sooner you’ll get it.
-
Robyn
Mine doesn’t mention Mannual review anymore. It did for a week now it doesn’t. Just says I should have within 2 weeks.
I filed on 2/7/18. Accepted on 2/8/18. -
Sms18
I haven’t seen any changes on mine. It’s shown $0.00 This whole time, and still says ontime in progress, still manual review message. Wtf Oregon!
-
Trinity
Mine went to 0 this morning! YES!!!! Please let it deposit today or tomorrow, lol :)
-
Sms18
I’m still seeing manual review. :(
Huge bummer. Might call them today. -
Sms18
Michelle, based on previous years, that means they released your refund and now it’s up to your bank when it deposits.
-
Michelle
Lastnight on my account the balance showed was in green my refund amount was correct this morning it is showing balance due $0 does anyone know if this is normal
-
Sms18
I’m still seeing the manual review message. No letters, no messages in the inbox on the website. No changes at all. Hopefully I see an update tomorrow.
-
Please note: Much like last year, the department won’t be issuing personal income tax refunds until after February 15. This refund hold is part of the state’s tax fraud prevention activities, and will allow confirmation that the amounts claimed on returns matches what employers report on forms W-2 and 1099.
Thats new to me on their wheres my refund page, so im guessing like usual for me, the state refund will come within hours of federal =/ -
Jenna
As of today the message has changed and no longer mentions manual review. It instead talks about it being processed and says unless they need to contact you a refund should be issued within next two weeks.
-
I filed on 2-2 and went to check my refund status today with Oregon and I too have the manual review verbage. I know they got a new computer system last year, and it’s causing a TON of issues. I wonder if that’s not part of the issue this/last year? – I forgot to take my stupid kicker check rebate so I’m sure that’s part of my “problem”.
-
japakar
Filed 25th under Manual Review, if I remember right, just about everyone was getting the manual review tag last year as well.
-
Maxx Tomei-Mansour
If for some reason you believe there is documentation that you’d need to provide to resolve manual review, it’s not out of the question to give DOR a call and check. There is a section in the online portal as well that provides electronic versions of any letters that have been, or will be sent out to you. This might help clear up some of the confusion. Side note, hold times are around 6-14 minutes. :)
-
I wish it wasnt so vague when I check my status. Im in manual review…Ummm okay why? Id rather know if something is going wrong before it actually does. But is it true that refunds wont be issued until mid feb?
-
Sms18
Yep. No refunds until mid February. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Absolutely no reason for them to hold refunds. I’m sure they want anything owed to them right away though.
At the very least I want an accurate update on the website, not a vague, generic BS message that worries me. -
Trinity
Just received an e-mail response that they are not issuing refunds until the 15th of February :(
-
Trinity
Does anyone know what numbers to push when calling the number to check the status of your refund? I am just curious if it is different than what online says.
-
Sms18
I’m pretty sure it updates overnight, but yes. All I want to know is that everything is good and they won’t need anything extra from me. I just want to know it will go through without an issue, even if I don’t get the money for a couple weeks lol. So frustrating.
-
Trinity
Mine also says “Ontime-Processed”, but I have seen nothing $$ wise :(. I don’t understand any of this. Just wish it would hurry up already, or we could at least be told a time of day the updates take place because honestly even though I know its only once a day I check 50 + times a day because who knows when it updates so……
-
Sms18
Hmm, I filed mine the 26th and was accepted the 29th, I’ve been seeing “manual review, may take additional time” since it updated Tuesday morning. Really hoping it will move out of that message soon. I reported payments for childcare, so I’m hoping they don’t delay for that. But I haven’t seen any other messages or mail yet, who knows. Hopefully a positive update tomorrow.
-
Trinity
Haha, please excuse my “manuel” vs. “manual” spelling errors, lol. I’m tired and my daughter boyfriends name is Manuel, so I am also confused, lol.
-
Trinity
SMS18 yes, it originally showed Manuel review for 2 days. I didn’t know about creating a revenue account until I found this site so I created one when I saw it change from manuel to processing regularly. It has shown my refund amount in green since I created the account, and wmr has been out of manuel review for just about 9 days.
-
Cmk
I saw the “Manual Review” about 6-7 days ago. its been processing, standard 2 weeks message since then
-
Sms18
Trinity, when you say it’s showing in green, are you seeing it posted on the oregon revenue site already? And, did you ever see the “manual review” message?
-
Trinity
Mine has been two weeks since WMR has said they were processing and I will get within 2 weeks if no errors. I am still showing in green, and there are no letters or anything. Frustrating to say the least!
-
Sms18
Crystails, I believe it did that last year too. Not an automatic 12 week wait. I’m pretty sure it’s standard message for everyone as Oregon also waits until mid February to approve refunds and send them out. I wish they had a less confusing message for it.
-
Crystails
Is being manually processed an automatic 12 week delay?
-
Sms18
Does anyone know if Oregon is delaying refunds until the 15th again?
-
My state taxes were accepted on 30 Jan 2017. Today is the 28th of April and it is still being processed. I called the number listed on the ORS website since its been 12 weeks. The person I talked with after holding for 30 minutes wasn’t really helpful, said they would send some type of message to another department telling them to issue my refund or send me paperwork that they might still need from me and i should here from them in about 2 weeks. So they have had my taxes for 12 weeks and have not even looked at them, I got my Fed refund in 3 weeks
-
Is this site active, seems to be dead, commits not be moderated at all
-
this was week 12 since filing at the beginning of february. with my refund amount still in green parentheses and saying on time processed. it also had the manual review status on WMR.
I called yesterday, tuesday, to get an update. they agreed it had been 12 weeks. the rep said he would send a note to a tax processor and i should hear back within 7-10 days.
today, my refund is now zero’ed, still says on time processed and the WMR status now says “We’re processing your return. If we need additional information to finish processing your return, you’ll receive a letter from us. Otherwise, your refund should be issued in the next two weeks.”
-
Mallory
Is anyone else still waiting. I got an email from turbo tax stating my state refund was accepted on Feb 9th. Then I checked on the website and was under manual review. I just called today 6/19 and was told they are working on it and to check back in another week or two. I haven’t received any letters and the gal on the phone confirmed I haven’t been sent anything. When I log in the balance says $0.00 so I’m hoping that means they are sending me a refund based on some of the other comments.
-
Caitline
So, Filed and accepted Feb 1st. Part year resident since my family moved here for my husband’s job. Received my federal and nj state (which is notoriously slower than slow) beginning of last month.
Still no Oregon refund. No letters. No ID quiz. No W2’s requested. Nada. On my account says processed with the amount in green. Has said that for a month now. Measly $144 but it’s the principle of it. On wmr still states being manually processed. Ugghh. Anyone else in this situation have any insight?
-
Blake
That’s good news. I think i should be receiving something by Monday. That will be week 12. I uploaded my drivers license, W2, employee paystub with my ID badge, copy of insurance card with address, and the original letter. I don’t think they could possibly need anything else.
-
I got a letter last Monday asking for proof of W-2 and my 1099 which I copied and emailed over that same day, now today I logged on to my acct and it says refund is being processed and will be sent to bank within 2 weeks. Also it shows a $0 balance now. So finally after almost 10 weeks I’m getting somewhere. Instead of it saying “return being manually processed”
-
Blake
For those of you who received an identity test, how long did it take for you to receive your refund after you submitted the test? I received a letter yesterday asking for proof of address, drivers licence, and for a copy of my W2. Glad i finally received something from ODR. I think i’ll receive something back soon.
-
Blake
Oregon tax advocates only assist individuals who are having issues retrieving their federal income tax returns unfortunately. It was a good attempt. I flew in and out of state several times for work before moving to texas, also for work, so I had a lot to write off, my Oregon refund will be close to 7k. It paid off for me to go through all of my bank and CC statements and itemize all of my deductions. It will be 11 weeks on monday since i filed, I’m facing medical bills from an accident in January so i’ll be all over them if i don’t get it back by week 12.
-
Thank you for the help! I logged in and seen there was a letter (that hasn’t even been mailed out yet) asking for a copy of our W-2 so I attached it and sent it over, hopefully this will get things rolling… been over 9 weeks now!
-
Hi Melanie~
Totally understand your frustration! We’ve had to pay the last 2 years but this year was way different and they owe us. Possibly why we also were dinged for manual review but it’s hard to say. If you go to https://revenueonline.dor.oregon.gov you can make an online account. Thats where you can see the “green” as well as previous tax years ect. I hope this helps and good luck!
-
I filed on Jan 31st and ours has been in “manually processed” since,,, haven’t heard anything, no letters. I keep reading others posts that say their amount is “in the green” etc… I’m not sure what that means when I log on to the Oregon website for where’s my refund all it tells me is it’s being manually processed?!?!… in the past we have not had a refund with the state for several years (typically owe a little) but we bought a home in 2016 which resulted in a refund this year so, go figure the year they owe us we haven’t seen it. So annoying. I tried calling today since it’s been 9 weeks but the automated machine says they are extremely busy and to call back another time and hangs up!!!! So frustrating!!!
-
Yes, both State and Federal have to start paying interest after a certain time frame. Usually 45 days after April’s deadline. I’m not sure when they update. I’m thinking once a day at midnight but that’s just a guess. I called the collections department today because despite having a refund that will cover the small amount I owe I noticed they are charging ME interest. Nice play Oregon! The guy told me to give it a couple more weeks as he didn’t think it would take the whole 12 weeks to finish proccessing. He said they are working each manual review as first come, first serve. I’ll believe it when it happens. Let us know how the TA works out for you Blake, and good luck.
-
Blake
Also, does anyone know exactly when the website is updated? I know they only update refund status once a day, according to the website, but i don’t know when. I’m going to work with Oregon Tax Payer Advocates out of Portland. My taxes were accepted on 01/23 and federal paid like a week later. This is ridiculous. At this point they better be paying interest, we have to when we’re late.
-
Blake
So the state will actually pay interest? That’s a surprise.
-
Nothing here either Blake. At least yours is in green. Once the amount goes to zero it means they are done proccessing it and you should see a refund. Mine doesn’t show a balance at all. Just that I owe. Which I don’t. From research I see they have been doing this to people for years now. Some are not seeing a refund until Sept-Oct. Well after the 12 week mark and they have to pay interest. Short staffed and to many holidays I guess.
-
Blake
Still waiting on mine. Anyone still in the same boat? Account balance in green parenthesis, manual review.
-
Dig
From what I was just told when I called, sometimes when you file online there will be a discrepancy or something that the computer doesn’t like therefore it gets sent into manual processing. I’ve been waiting for 6 weeks and they say that they can’t really tell me anything except that it’s in manual processing and if I don’t hear anything in another 6 weeks to call back. I don’t have another 6 weeks. It’s rather frustrating. You figure if there is something wrong with your return or if they need more information that they would just verify who you are and tell you what they need so you can get it out of the way.
-
I finally contacted them about my refund today. I completed the ID quiz on March 9th, and I’ve been stuck in manual review since. When I called today, they said there was no record of me completing the quiz and I was directed to take it again by one person and another person said they found it and sent my file to the support team. See what happens now… Just in case you are in the same situation, call and make sure they received your quiz.
-
I filed electronically Jan 23rd. Taxes accepted same day no credits or anything, I received federal refund Feb 8th . My oregon state refund has been under manual review since being accepted. Ive called as well as email and always told still processing. Last week March 13th I recieved a id verification quiz, I successfully passed it same day. My refund still shows processing WTH!!!! i dont understand if irs starting accepting Jan 23rd but no release till Mid Feb what were they doing all that time ? They could have started doing these manual reviews instead it seems like they just started them . my bank allows access to pay 4 days sooner than most as soon as it it put in computer deposit scheduled i can get it, they dont even show anything pending THIS IS CRAZY
-
I filed electronically Jan 24th taxes accepted same day , I had no credits or anything . I received my Federal refund Feb 8th 2017. My Ore State refund has been in manual review since being accepted Jan 24th 2017. Ive called twice and have emailed every week on the status and told everytime Some returns get pulled for manual review theres nothing on your account if you receive a letter fill out and send back asap. Last week March 13th I received a id verification letter. I immediately completed the quiz successfully , My return still shows under manual review!!!! WTH . I dont understand if the IRS did not start issuing refunds until mid Feb but accepted them Jan 23rd couldnt they have worked on the return during that time so when the release date came around they could issue refunds without delay? several of my friends filed late Feb with credits they were under manual review as well but have gotten there refunds back already. MIne is to be direct deposited into account. My bank allows access 4 days sooner than normal bank does, it shows nothing pending WTH!!
-
Has anyone had to verify their identity? If so, how long did it take after verifying did you get your refund? I was accepted 2/4, got a letter on 3/9 to verify and have been in manual review.
-
I filed 2/17 and we’re still stuck on manual. No letters, ect. I’m wondering…how many of you have a prior debt with Oregon or even the IRS? I owe Oregon a small amount from last year that we haven’t paid off completely. They sent us to the IRS to intercept our refund from them. I’m wondering if they are playing a waiting game to see if the IRS will take it first. Our Oregon refund is more then enough to garnish and send us the rest of the refund. So rediculous. My friend filed 2/26 and had her check mailed and in her hands by 3/7. Not understanding this.
-
jj
still waiting as well. accepted returns 2/15. on revenue online correct refund listed with “on time- processed.” wheres my refund still states in manual review.
-
Blake
Also still in manual review. Accepted on 01/23. Really unhappy. I’ve contacted them multiple times. Still the same response. Not being audited, just taking longer to process. I didn’t even live in the state for an entire year.
-
jsandvold
…still in manual review…still waiting
-
TJ4061
I filed my state taxes on February 2, still nothing says its being processed manually a co-worker filed in January 3, she says she had direct deposit but received a paper check in the mail instead the end of February like the 24th Still waiting paper checks scare me with open mail boxes anyone can steal them!!!
-
I have the same info on time processed and amount in green in ( ), I have been calling everyday. No one can give any details.
-
jsandvold
Still shows $0.00 balance no refund and still in review. No alerts or letters. Filed 2/4 and accepted 2/5. Status says ON TIME – PROCESSING so it doesn’t even look like it’s been processed yet. This weekend will be 4 weeks so what gives? This is taking way too long and I’m guessing we would have already gotten a letter or something by now if there was an issue right?
-
Runnergirl
I submitted my taxes around the 3rd or 4th week in January. My status shows In Review. I logged into the site to get more info and it says balance with green parenthesis with the status of “On time – Processed”. What does this mean?
-
adam
Just check the status of my Oregon refund and it says it has been deposited into my account but when I checked my account it was not there. Also there wasn’t any pending transactions waiting to be cleared. Anyone else have this issue?
-
Deena
The last three years I have filed with TurboTax. This year I did my taxes on 2/21, electronically submitted and received notification within an hour or so that both state and federal returns were accepted . My state refund has always been in my bank within 4-5 days. In reading the posts on here it looks like refunds are coming way later this year?
-
AM88
@Rachie
DITTO!!! Went home on my lunch at 11am and nothing was there, as I was leaving at 1145, the mailman pulled up and it was there!!!!!! So, it was mailed out of Salem on Wednesday and I got it in Medford on Friday. Pretty quick!
-
Rachie
@AM88 Just checked my mail and the check was there so hopefully yours is close too!!
-
Blake
When i log in it says on-time/processed, but when I look on the where’s my refund page, it still says manual review/processing. What’s with the discrepancy?
-
AM88
Anybody that was forced to have a check sent via mail, instead of DD, did you get your check yet?
Still haven’t received mine? it just got sent out Wednesday, so I am going to give it until Monday/Tuesday before I start to panic. But I was just wondering?
USPS states that it should only take 2 business days from Salem. So I am hoping it will be here today!!
-
Jessica Pires
Yay!!! State came in! Whoop!!!
-
Blake
So my return says that it’s on time – processed online with a balance in parenthesis. Does that mean anything?
-
Jessica Pires
So why haven’t I seen my direct deposit yet?!?!?
-
Tyler
My direct deposit came through today… Basically mine still showed that I was still processing yesterday and then the money magically appeared. So good news to those that were worried… I think many will start getting theirs today
-
Jessica Pires
Oregon WMR says refund sent or check cashed… I don’t see anything in my account yet!! Anyone have this issue???
-
I filed and accepted back on the 23rd of January. Been in “Manuel Review” ever since. Haven’t received Federal refund yet, but should tomorrow.
My account shows in parentheses and in green a positive balance, and shows “on-time processed”. Because I’m moving, and my last name changed this year I called the dept. 29 minutes later, lol a nice young lady answered my call. She didn’t at first want to be very helpful, but was as I inquired as to why this is taking so long and what I need to provide to push this along. I have been reviewed many times over the years.Manuel review means just that. A human is touching it, but it doesn’t mean anything is wrong. She confirmed that there are no letters, or notices on my account, and that soon it should update! That sounds pretty hopeful! She also said that the first set of refunds just went out this week for those under “review”. Who knows if that’s fact or made up! Seems that they just put these people on the phone with letter actual knowledge!
So rest assured, it will update whenever they want!
-
I finally called the OR DOR today also and reached a very nice guy, but honestly he wouldn’t even pull up my return so I was little annoyed. He said that eventhough online it still shows that I am in manual review, that is just a placeholder for those with the credits (which we knew…) and as long as my revenue online account shows Ontime-Processed with no alerts or letters, that everything is fine and it is just in process. He thought that since I was accepted nearly a month ago, that it should be updated within the week but let’s just say that I don’t really have too much faith in his answers since he wouldn’t even look at my account. I asked about the issue of paper checks being mailed out instead of direct deposits and he tried to say that it is not a widespread issue and that it is happening because the system must not have been able to “communicate” with the bank for those affected. I rolled my eyes a bit! haha!
I guess I will just wait until next week and call again if nothing changes! Thanks everyone for keeping us all updated!
-
BudLane
BOOM! I just got my refund deposited to my account this morning. Filed 1/23, accepted same day, went trough manual review and back to normal! Good luck, fellas!
-
Blake
They only update the website once a day, does anyone know what time that is? I called and spoke with a representative who didn’t know what time they updated. Oregon accepted my return on 01/23, I have been paid for my federal return already, and as of today i’m showing the balance but still in manual review. She said there wasn’t a reason as to why I was in manual review still but it could take around 12 weeks from the date accepted. I told her that I’ve never had issues with my taxes, with the exception of me moving to taxes for work and claiming quite a bit in moving expenses, everything was on point with no variances from what my employer had reported. She said I shouldn’t worry about being audited or anything, just for some reason the computer didn’t pull my return so they had to do it manually. Hoping to see my return soon.
-
ltwpdx
I filed 2/4 accepted 2/5
-
Jessica Pires
An hour wait?! Wow!! When did you file???
-
ltwpdx
Jessica – after a hour wait on the phone – I found i have a Direct Deposit on 2/23, might wanna call them
-
Jessica Pires
Still a $0 balance, not even a pending deposit in my bank account. The wait continues…
-
AM88
@LJ
I am not sure why they are doing it.. To be completely honest, it sounds like some tactic or something to that effect.
However, the only response that I could get from the rep was that it was a “Systems Limitation”, he said he could see my DD info clearly on my return, but when asked what “Systems Limitation” means, he just kept repeating himself and couldn’t really explain it. Then he went and “talked to his supervisor” who further confirmed it was a “systems limitation” but again couldn’t explain what exactly that was or why it happened when my DD info was right in front of them.
When I had called earlier in the week, they said they were processing it, and that when it was done being processed that I would have a DDD. Then when my account switched back to 0.00, I called again and BOOM; paper check. So…
Idk if Oregon is doing something new to where any refund that is over $XXXX amount is sent paper check or what. I know that this is the biggest state refund I have ever had since this year I was able to claim my wife, her son, my son and our new daughter. So, in my mind, I justified it as something to do with that. It would be interesting to see if we all have something in common though, to determine why we specifically got opted out of DD.
-
By chance are they sending paper checks to further prevent fraud by making us take the checks to our banks? I
-
jsandvold
@AM88
Thanks! It looks like it still says Ontime – In Progress and the WMR still says Manual Review so I am guessing I haven’t even gotten to the part where they post my refund amount yet because when I go into Dec. 2016 it just says Balance $0.00 it doesn’t say Tax or Other. I don’t have any letters or alerts though so I am probably still getting through the system since it looks like I filed a few weeks after you guys did.
-
AM88
Anybody that has their account balance switched to 0.00, I would call the OR DOR IMMEDIATELY after. There have been A LOT of people this year that were supposed to get DD and had all of their DD info on their return and OR is STILL sending a Paper Check!!!! So, call and check, before you get your hopes up for a DD only to be shot down having to wait for a paper check..
I mean, I live down in Medford, and from Salem a priority mail letter only takes about 2 days (so I would have it by Friday/Sat at the latest), but still.. CALL FIRST. And only AFTER your balance switches to zero. When I called when my balance was still negative, they told me DD, but when I called after it switched they told me paper check!
@Cher
Today is a holiday, so you may not see anything.. But my guess is that you see some change either Tuesday, Wednesday for a DD or Paper check the following Wednesday.@Jill
Don’t worry, even if you move the letters are readable online. Whatever they send you in the mail, they scan and upload to Revenue Online before they send it. So, no matter what, you will get any correspondence that they send.@jsandvold
Got into your specific tax year on Revenue online. So log in, click “Manage Returns”, then click “December 2016” and then if you look down and it says:
Tax: (Amount)
Other: (Your Refund amount)
Credit: (Amount)Make sure your refund amount matches the “other” section AND if your account balance is at 0.00 then you have already been paid or are processing for payment. So just loot at that first and then give them a call. If nothing is there, then you haven’t been processed yet or your account balance is a negative amount, then you haven’t been processed yet.
@Jessica Pires & @ltwpdxMAKE SURE YOU CALL AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT SENDING A PAPER CHECK. I though FOR SURE I was getting a DD, but nope, Paper check for me.
-
I was accepted on 1/24 and mine still shows in “manual review” also. Ugh! My revenue online account still shows the amount owed to me in parenthesis in green, says “Ontime-Processed” and I have no alerts/messages sent. Still keeping my fingers crossed!
-
My federal return has now shown a DDD. My Oregon “account” shows that my 2016 return has “processed on time” my balance is in parenthesis and is in green. My status shows that I am “in manual review”. I called the dept last week to inquire about my account. The lady didn’t look up my account, but simply said that everyone’s account is stating that they are In manual review. I wouldn’t be concerned except that I am moving this next week and worried that any letter or check would get lost. My account doesn’t show any letters or any action needed on my end.
I see many people are getting their message removed that they are in manual review, but perhaps I really am in review. LOL, I swear, Oregon places me in review almost every year, you’d think by now they would see that I’m legit! LOL -
jsandvold
Anyone accepted 2/5 get out of manual review yet?
Mine still says processing on time in the Revenue Online area with no letters or amounts but the WMR section says I’m still under manual review.
Just looking for any updates or feedback.
Thanks!
-
ltwpdx
mine is now zero!! wooo! hoping for a DD this week
-
Jessica Pires
Ok, mine switched to 0 balance and processing on Thursday, still nothing in my bank account. Hoping next Tuesday/Wednesday? Am I being overly optimistic?? Did your oregon WMR update to refund processed??
-
Rachie
Well out of curiosity I called odr and was told mine too will be sent as a paper check next Wednesday :( all my direct deposit information was correct as well. Pretty disappointed, last year was a pain in my butt and I was hoping this year it would be easier, guess not lol
-
Sean
I called the ODR and they told me my DD date was the 21st!
-
RickyEugene
Hey guys, I just checked my bank account and I got my DD refund from the Oregon Revenue Department! So excited! I filed on Jan 26, got accepted the same day, was put on Manual Review, went back to normal and now I finally got it. I got my Federal refund yesterday, so I got lots of money to spend! Thanks for all the comments here, they were really helpful and good luck to everybody…..
-
AM88
Ya, I mean I am happy I am getting my refund but is it bullshit that we have to wait until next week for a PAPER CHECK and then wait some more for that paper check to get here. It is right there on my return, idk WHY they didn’t DD ANYBODYS money? it makes ZERO sense…
-
Nessi
I talk to a Rep today I told her my bal went from (xxxx) to 0.00 and she said that I was being issued a check on 2/22 and that salem mail gose to Portland first and then back to salem, also I should check the mail next Thursday or Friday. 😡 Idk why they didn’t direct deposit my money that upsets me.
-
AM88
annnddddd they are not DD mine either…… It is being mailed as a PAPER CHECK NEXT WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so livid. He said that there clearly is a DD on the return, but because of a “System Limitation” it is being mailed as a Paper Check. I asked what kind of system limitation and he couldn’t even tell me?!
-
AM88
@ Jessica Pires
Nope, nothing yet and mine has been at 0 since yesterday AM and out of “Manual Review” since Saturday.. They don’t open until 730AM though, so I am going to try and give them a call and see whats going on. I have a bad feeling they mailed mine in a check on Wednesday, even though I gave my DD info, like they did with other peoples. However, I could be wrong and they could’ve submitted DD’s this morning and itll be in my account tomorrow. We will see when I call.. Lol.
-
Jessica Pires
Alright!! Balance is 0 and no more manual review! Nothing pending in my account yet though! Anyone get theirs back yet?
-
AM88
@ ltwpdx
I do the SAME exact Walmart Money Card every single year and every single year I have gotten it at 2 or 4AM on whatever day after the day they send it… and I don’t think they just “Scheduled a DD” because why would my account balance be at 0 if it was just scheduled? it had to have already been paid and sent out…. but it isn’t in my bank and normally I have any DD before I wake up, although I think they can go on anytime but idk.. Maybe they deposited it today and only scheduled it yesterday and ill have it tomorrow??.. Idk.
-
jsandvold
Hey everyone…I created my Revenue Online account last week after I read this thread and it has been a great way to track what is going on. I have a few questions…maybe those that have gotten further in the process will know.
Filed 2/4 and was accepted in the morning of 2/5. My Federal was already processed and back to me and since we moved to Indiana this year I had a return from there as well. I had to verify my identity with them, did that last night as soon as I got the letter, and poof…had an DDD this morning of next Thursday.
However my Oregon return is still sitting in manual review. My main screen balance shows $0.00 and when I go into where it shows my 2016 return it says $0.00 and that it is Processing – On Time. That is what the message says. I have no letters and no alerts.
Am I just that far behind earlier filers or does this seem like a legit manual review? I have been reviewed before due to child care, etc. verification, but they always send me a letter.
Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice. Thanks!
-
ltwpdx
@AM88
:((
I still have a balance myself. hoping to see that change.
I’ve gotten deposits as late at 8am from my bank, so I hope you will get yours today!!
-
AM88
My account balance has been at 0.00 since yesterday morning but I still don’t have it in my account… Starting to worry…. Ugh
-
Happen to my parents as well with their deposit, they were told they put 1 number in account routing wrong and it would be coming in the mail. (it wasnt wrong on my parents records, so who knows)
No update for me yet!
-
…Update to previous message. Rep called me back and said they did see my checking account information but decided to mail me a check instead. No need to be concerned they said, This happens. Everybody watch out….Yours could be mailed as well :)
-
My status also changed to a 0 balance this morning. I messages the state and was informed they are sending me a check? I have been direct deposited every year…same account. I am not sure why I would be retrieving a check. Anybody else hear of this happening recently? I am not happy about it and am waiting to get a call back now from a rep.
-
AM88
@ Jessica Pires
Federal returns will be 2/22 for PATH Act affected returns.
-
Jessica Pires
I filed 1/30!! I know it can take awhile, especially this year! I’m really hoping it’ll be soon!! But I think we all are, right? Now the real question…. the federal return!!! When?!?!?
-
AM88
@ltwpdx
Actually, to be honest, since you were already taken off of Manual Review.. If your balance isn’t $0.00 today, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see it be updated to $0.00 on Friday night/Saturday morning, for a Monday deposit.
-
AM88
@ltwpdx
Ya, you definitely should. I believe they deposit M-W-F, so funds to be deposited Monday get released on the Saturday update, Wednesday funds get released Tuesday and Friday funds get released Thursday. So, if you log in Saturday, Tuesday or Thursday and your balance is $0.00, then you should have your funds by the next day (depending on your bank).
-
ltwpdx
Awesome. I was taken off manual a few days ago as well. Hoping to see something soon!
-
AM88
@ltwpdx
I filed 1/12 and Federal was accepted 1/19 and I think my state was accepted on opening day right at 8AM 1/23. I went straight into received and then 2 days after that on 1/25 I was already “Under Manual Review”.. This last Saturday is when I came off Manual Review, I checked last night at about 11PM and my balance still had my refund amount ($XXXX) and then when I logged in at 630AM this morning my balance was $0.00.
-
ltwpdx
when did you guys file? I am a 2/5
-
Rachie
@AM88 Awesome I need it lol! Thanks so much!
-
AM88
@ Rachie
Ya, it typically takes 24 hours from the time of release. So, it will either be in there later today (if they receive it) and, if not, first thing tomorrow morning at the latest. However, it is on the way! So, it is only a matter of time! I will let you know when mine gets deposited, but it will most likely be tomorrow.
I know right! Well, my fingers are crossed for you too and I hope you get it soon! Same for you @ Jessica Pires! It shouldn’t be much longer now! If it isn’t released tomorrow, I am guessing Monday or Wednesday at the latest!
-
Jessica Pires
Ugh…. bummer! Mine still says manual review and still shows the balance ($xxx). One of these days!!!!
-
Rachie
@AM88 so did your refund post to your bank account this morning? My balance is 0.00 now too so I was just wondering if you knew how long it took to show up at your bank, I’m broke haha!
-
@AM88 – Yay!!! So glad to finally see some movement – Thanks for keeping us updated! Nothing on mine yet, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed its soon!
-
AM88
@Cher !!!!!
-
AM88
BOOM!!!!
Just went on to “Revenue Online” and my current balance is $0.00.. Which means that my previous negative balance has been paid and they sent my refund out!!!!!!!!!! My WMR hasn’t updated but it has never updated until I already had my refund in my account!!!!!!!
-
Rachie
So did anyone get their money today? I filed really early and had hoped maybe it would have come but sadly, no money today lol
-
ltwpdx
OMG. Yes. I called earlier today and they told me the same thing.
-
Finally some good news! haha! Thanks for the update, @AM88!
-
AM88
I talked to an OR Rep today at the DOR and she said that they have been holding them up until today and that they are just starting to release them as of this morning. She said that they will be released in the order that they were received and, as long as I don’t have any letters on my account, that if I don’t have it by the end of next week at the latest, to call back. I then asked her if there was anyway I could get it this week still and she said that there is definitely a chance, it just depends on when I filed with them..
I didn’t ask what days they deposit on and now I feel like I should have! Lol.
-
Jessica Pires
I’m still under manual review and says “ontime/processed”. So now I just don’t know!!
-
ltwpdx
@AM88
Hope you are right. I am ontime-processed and they took me off manual review on Saturday as well!! Need that $$!!
-
AM88
@Jessica Pires
I believe so! I think they do only deposit MWF..
Last year, they took my “Under review” off on Saturday (same this year), then the next Weds (today), I woke up at 5am for work, had nothing in my account, then at 8am they deposited my State Refund and the ORWMR never updated until 2 days later. I am REALLY hoping they do it again this year..
I hope that they start deposits today, I mean, they have no reason not to? So, I pray I get it. lol. I just don’t see any reason for them to keep holding onto it, my state refunds have always been so quick..
-
Jessica Pires
Does Oregon only deposit on certain days of the week?? Isn’t it only MWF?
-
Jessica Pires
Never mind!! Just stating that I made an online account. I was hoping it had something to do with my refund! Booooo
-
Jessica Pires
As of yesterday, I noticed an unread letter in my oregon online account that shows the refund etc… it says “tax prof. Access notification”. Unfortunately I couldn’t open it on my phone, will have to check on my computer when I get home. Anyone know what this means?!?!?
-
AM88
@Sean
Ok, that means it is pending for release for deposit. It is completely processed and “Ontime” according to their schedule. I typically always get my state before my Federal and especially with the way federal is going this year, I think that will be true again. The state is pretty quick, they don’t have all of the hoops that federal does and the deposit goes straight from them to our accounts.
Also, last year I was “under manual review”, then I called in on a Friday or Saturday, the next business day (which was a Monday) after that it was out of manual review and then it was deposited that Wednesday. Same thing happened this year and I have been out of “Manual Review” since Monday.
So, I just have a feeling that it will be deposited tomorrow morning into my account. Just like previous years and I don’t think state will hold it past the 15th. They didn’t have to follow the Fed’s footsteps, they did it but they didn’t have to, and I also don’t think it will be held past the 15th. Especially because when I called, the lady specifically said, they will start “depositing funds on the 15th” and that they’ve “been processing this whole time”..
-
Sean
@AM88 it says “On Time-Processed”
-
AM88
@Jessica Pires
Yes, it is a good thing. It means that it is processed and just waiting, does your account balance say “($XXXX)”.. If so, the parenthesis means it is owed to you. It should say that if you click on this years return and on the home page under “Balance”. Now, once that balance on the home page goes to $0 and this years return still says “Ontime-Processed” with your refund amount. That means it has been paid out and your balance is back at $0.
-
Jessica Pires
Mine says “ontime-processed”. I’m assuming that’s a good thing?!
-
The posted this today: https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/avoid-the-rush-use-irsgov-for-quick-answers-to-questions
“Where’s My Refund?” Begins Updating Feb. 16 for EITC and ACTC Filers
By law, the IRS must hold Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit refunds until Feb. 15. Taxpayers will begin to see refunds claiming EITC/ACTC the week of Feb. 27. “Where’s My Refund?” will update for EITC/ACTC refunds beginning Feb. 16, with the vast majority updating by Feb. 18.The wording is different than it was prior… I am just hoping that they are being cautious with giving DDD’s.
-
AM88
-
AM88
Where did you read that WMR wouldn’t update until 2/16 and the first refunds wouldn’t be until 2/27?..
Everything on the IRS website still and has always stated the first ones will go out on 2/15, and that is when they will start releasing them, but that you MAY not get it until the 27th because of Presidents day, Weekends, and your banks policies..
-
This year I changed from a daily to a weekly updater so all along I’ve been thinking that I would wake up on 1/18 to a 1/22 DDD. I would LOVE to wake up this Wednesday and see a deposit, but I’m thinking that after reading the newest update, it won’t happen. Boooo! I am a bit confused by their most recent article as it says that WMR will start updating on 2/16 with DDD’s for week of 2/27, but their prior articles stated that refunds will start going out on the 15th. I guess we will see!
I’ve never had a bank that holds my refunds (although I did change to a different credit union this year, so I guess I don’t know what will happen this year…) but I’m hoping by next friday to have both Fed and State!
Keep us updated if you find out anything more, please! Have a great day!
-
AM88
Well, on the IRS.gov site, it says we wont see an update on WMR until a few days AFTER the 15th. However, I fell like that is just the wording they’re using and our bars will return with a DDD for early filers on the 15th, if not then during the big Friday update at the latest.
They also said on the IRS.gov site that they WILL start releasing refunds ON the 15th, so I feel like us early filers will have our money released this week and people who filed after 2/1 the following week.
Now, if you have a bank account that holds money, the IRS may release it this week, but you probably wont see it until the end of next week. The IRS will probably release it Weds/Thurs, it will go through the proper channels, then Monday is a holiday, your bank will hold it for 3-4 business days and you will see it at the end of next week/beginning of the week of the 27th.
However, if you have a pre-paid card, netspend, or your bank doesn’t hold the money, you will start seeing the money as early as Thurs/Fri or Tuesday, depending. That’s just my opinion on it, but I feel like that is what will happen.
As for state, I have ALWAYS gotten my state before my federal and there isn’t very many channels for that to go through. Goes straight from the state to our accounts. They have already said they will also start releasing refunds ON the 15th, so (especially with the “under review” removed) I feel like that will be in my account by Friday at the absolute latest and possibly Weds morning.
-
Hopefully (fingers crossed!) I am just a bit further down in the queue than you! lol! Trying to be “glass half full” about it! lol!
Whats your theory on federal returns? I’m hoping we see some movement this week on fed and state!
-
AM88
Hmmmm.. That is weird. I wonder why mine is no longer under manual review as mine was accepted on the 23rd?..
-
@AM88 – I filed on 1/23 and accepted early morning 1/24 for both federal and state.
-
AM88
What day were you accepted?
-
Oregon WMR still shows as “under manual review” for me today, but when I login to my Revenue Online account it shows as “Ontime-Processed” so hopefully that means something soon!
-
AM88
@sean
On the Revenue online, does it show yours as “in progress” or as “On Time-Processed”?.. Just curious.
-
Sean
So on the WMR it shows Under Manual Review. But if I create an account on Revenue Online it shows that it is in progress (not under manual review) and the refund amount. So check there before you assume its actually under review or being held.
-
AM88
Just something I noticed from last year…
Last year I was put on “Manual Review”, I called the IRS, was part of a Turbo Tax error, and got everything worked out. Well, that Saturday, they removed the “Under Review” verbiage and it went back to the standard message. Then I ended up getting my refund on Weds. 2/3, my WMR hadn’t updated to the 3rd bar until AFTER I already had the money in my account.
So, I am hoping this year is going the exact same. This year, just like last year, they removed the “Under Review” status and switched it back to standard verbiage on Saturday. So, I am hoping that Wednesday I will have my money in my account again, just like last year.
I just thought it was odd, it may be a coincidence, but it might not!
-
AM88
You are very welcome. As long as your full amount is there and no correspondence has been sent out then you should be good to go!
I was VERY surprised to see the manual review verbiage gone and to see:
1. Where’s My Refund
2. Where’s My Refund ResultsWhere’s My Refund Results
WHERE’S MY REFUND
Your return is currently being processed. Your refund or other information should be issued within three to four weeks unless your return is selected for further review.
-
Cher
@AM88 – thanks so much for the info, it is appreciated! I was able to also create a login and see my refund amount. I don’t see any alerts or letters sent out as of yet, so I’m hoping it will be sent out soon! My Oregon WMR didn’t update yet, it still shows “manual review” but I am keeping my fingers crossed!
-
AM88
And look at this.. Oregon WMR updated last night and I am no longer in “manual review”, I have the standard ” your return is processing” verbiage.
The lady said my refund will be released ON the 15th.. So I expect it no later than Friday. Which makes sense as to why I no longer have the manual review, I am no longer in “holding”, and ready to be sent. They could release as early as Monday and received on Wednesday. Either way, can’t wait to have my money this week!
-
AM88 is right i just signed up and it told me the same thing my refund was in green and said ontime processed i had no alerts on my account
-
AM88
So, I will post in here again. If you read my previous post, you will see in detail what I’m talking about. There has been so much back and forth on here, that I called OR department of revenue again, just to verify.
I spoke to a different agent, who again confirmed that ANYTHING you see on the WMR tool is NOT VALID. Because of THE PATH ACT and oregon following it, most everybody’s says “under manual review” because there return has been placed on hold. However, she reffered me to the REVENUE ONLINE site, where you’re able to log in and see any amounts due by you AND OWED TO YOU. It will also show any correspondence that was sent to you (i.e. I’d verification, etc.). So I created an account with them, logged on and my account balance is my refund amount in green (meaning it is owed to me) there are also no letter or any correspondence sent to me. Under my returns for every years, this year’s says my refund amount and it also shows it is “Ontime – Processed”.. So my refund has been approved, the money has been added to my account to be sent out and now it is just waiting 5 more days. They said they WILL start sending oregon refunds ON the 15th..
I am not here to lie to you or spread misinformation, I have 3 kids and am just trying to figure this all out. Just because we are “Under Manual Review” doesn’t mean we other actually are, it is just on hold until the15th.
If you create a Revenue Online account and log in, you will be able to see what refund amount you are getting, if you’ve been processed and if they’ve sent ANY letters to you about ANYTHING to do with your refund. So if you want to make sure everything is going smooth, log on to revenue online!! Can’t wait til the 15th!!

Update:
After 11 weeks my fiancés wmr finally changed back to 3-4 week processing with a $0 balance when he logs in. Hoping the deposit will hit soon. It looks like it was manually reviewed because he put $0 for the kicker so they needed a whole 3 months to change it to $18 lmao. Can’t believe it has takin this long just to adjust his refund by less than $20. Hope everyone receives their refund soon. -
Tana Rowland
I was put on manual review after I filed and then they needed an identity quiz so I did that the same day and now they’re sending me a letter about needing more info on my disabled son even tho that has nothing to fucking do with my Oregon refund! I only got Oregon refund for day care expenses. This is bullshit! I only get my taxes until the fucking summer!! Another 12 weeks after I turn in the paperwork. I can’t believe this! Can someone help me please? Should I get a lawyer?? Who should I tell this too? I’m NOT GETTING MY MONEY UNTIL SUMMER AND I FILED FEB 1st! GOT MY FEDERAL A WEEK LATER! PLEASE HELP
-
Tana
EVERYBODY I had to do the identy quiz and they waited 13 weeks to send me the letter saying j needed to do it. I did it the same day just to wait 3 weeks to be sent a letter saying I need to prove my son is disabled. This is bullshit! I just sent them what they asked for so now I have to wait 12 more weeks for MY MONEY! I pay Oregon on time every two weeks I pay MY TAXES ON TIME EVERY TWO WEEKS! When it’s time to give me my refund they want to wait UNTIL THE END OF SUMMER TO MAYBE GIVE IT TO ME OR ANOTHER FUCKING LETTER. LOVE PAYING MY TAXES TO BE TREATED LIKE SHIT. GOVERMENT GAGSTERS. I just GIVE UP! I don’t expect to ever get my money.
-
Tana
Michelle,
I had to do a identity quiz and after I did they they waited three whole weeks to send me a letter about my disabled son and needing proof even though it didn’t affect my Oregon refund at all! So I called again and I won’t be getting my money until the fucking SUMMER! Sorry for my language but I’ve never in my life heard of someone waiting until the END OF SUMMER FOR THEIR REFUND! OREGON TAKES THEIR MONEY OUT OF MY CHECKS EVERY TWO WEEKS ON TIME LIKE CLOCK WORK BUT WHEN ITS TIME TO SEND ME MY MESELY 900 DOLLARS I HVE TO WAIT UNTIL SUMMER! THATS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN AND ITS INSANSE TO ME. GLAD I PAY MY TAXES JUST TO BE SCREWED OVER BY OREGON. -
Krystal Graham
So thankful for this website! I was freaking out a bit when I saw that my return was “Under Review” especially since we are getting a refund. I will just wait until February 15th and see what happens. :)
-
Scott Oggero
Sure is funny when you owe them money they want it right now but when they owe us money they can put a hold on it
-
Sean
Manual review too. I filed on the 26th, still under manual review. Like others have said, I also think the “Manual Review” is just a way to hold refunds from processing early (since they are holding them till the 15th). Has anyone not gotten it? or is no longer under Manual Review?
-
Angel White
If you read farther down in this thread, this is alluded to, but here are the facts: Oregon went a step further than the PATH act and decided to hold ALL refunds until the 15th of February. Here is an article about it: http://nwnewsnetwork.org/post/early-tax-refund-seekers-oregon-will-have-wait-until-february-15…so, Oregonians will not have tax returns from the State until after that date. I do believe they put everyone into the ‘manual review’ until that time because they don’t know how else to ‘stop’ processing until they are released. I find this SO frustrating…there has to be a better way…
-
Derrique Stuckey
I’m hearing that for the first year ever, Oregon is instituting the federal PATH Act, which is just placing everything under ‘manual review’ until after the 15th, but because the verbiage was screwed up in the system, it’s just showing ‘manual review’, instead of being in ‘PATH Act hold’. The first problem with this explanation is, the IRS is already kicking out federal returns. I got mine late last month, as well as many, many other folks who even fall into special categories when dealing with refund credits. Secondly, Oregon did this last year, as well. If this was truly a verbiage ‘glitch’, then an entire year went by without them fixing it. It took nearly six months for me to get my return last year, and I was almost to the point of lawfully receiving interest. Lastly, I don’t fall into any special credits categories, but I’m also flagged for ‘manual review’. Two year ago, I heard that the Oregon Department of Revenue erroneously issued millions of dollars in refunds to fraudulent filers. After that happened, it seems they kind of freaked out and just started flagging nearly every filer. “PATH Act”, or not, there’s no reason that you should have to wait that long for returns, especially when you were one of the first ones in the state to file. I’ve heard many explanations and excuses from the Oregon DOR, but none of them add up.

AM88
UPDATE FOR EVERYBODY!!
So, I guess what is happening is: As most of us know, Oregon is following suite with the Federal Government and the PATH Act. Which means that NO refunds, that include EIC, Working Families, Child Tax Credit or Child Care Credit, will be issued until after Feb. 15th. Now, because of this and because of the refunds being “Held”, it puts all of the returns (with one of those credits) in a special queue. Now, that queue hasn’t been used in previous years and this is their first time processing returns under the PATH Act, however, they didn’t add an actual “PATH Act Verbiage” for their WMR tool.
So, what happens is when your return goes into that queue, it doesn’t register on their WMR as “PATH ACT”, it registers the “Under Manual Review” verbiage and so that is what we are all seeing. Nothing is wrong with our returns, besides being held under the PATH Act, they are just in a separate queue than the “Normal” returns that were filed without any of the above mentioned credits. -
i think its just a computer glitch everyone i know is getting the same thing manual review
-
I submitted my Oregon Tax on January 30, I am claiming a ACTC and I just went into manual review as well.
Called Oregon State Revenue but they are very vague why I went into review. I suspect it’s because they are holding returns untill Feb 15. Thoughts?
-
the only credit i had was the eic credit i didn’t have the other credits
-
AM88
@ Tha Big Sexy
Did you happen to have the Working Families Credit, Child Tax, or Child Care credit??.. Mine still says Manual Review and on the 2nd bar, nothing has changed. Just wondering, since yours changed and doesn’t say manual review, if you have claimed any of those?
-
i went in to manual review last Monday the 23 of jan on wheres my refund i checked today and now it says my refund is processing and allow 3-4 weeks to get it the manual review is gone now GOOD
-
Thanks for the info! I just found this on the Oregon.gov site
http://www.oregon.gov/newsroom/Pages/NewsDetail.aspx?newsid=1509
So… Maybe us “early filers” went “manual review” because they can’t release our refunds until after the 15th? I sure hope it is just that! Fingers crossed!
-
Luna
Looks like oregon is delaying till Feb 15th just like federal…
http://nwnewsnetwork.org/post/early-tax-refund-seekers-oregon-will-have-wait-until-february-15
-
AM88
Yes, not glad to see it is happening, but glad its not just me… I don’t think this will have much of an effect on anything or hold up anything.
It looks like that is just that standard message for most people or potentially a glitch. Last year, the exact same thing happened. I logged on to the website the day after it was accepted and it said “under manual review”, so I gave them a call and they said they didn’t see anything wrong with my return. A couple days after that it was approved and I had it in my bank. Last year, I actually got it in my bank account before the WMR tool updated to the 3rd bar.
-
Kirk-japakar
Took 2 days to show up in the system and once it did, manual review. Dont think that matters or will delay anything though. But who knows :)
-
Stacey
My Oregon refund is under manual review again… I claimed child care. That can be the only reason it is in review. I took it upon myself to submit all my child care canceled checks and my W2s online already. Maybe this year it won’t take the 5 months to process like last year.
-
I filed on 1/23/17, accepted 1/24/17. I just checked the status on the State of Oregon refund site and it shows that I am under manual review. I’ve never seen this message before! What is going on?! lol!
-
filed my taxes jan 4 got accepted fed on the 12 and state of Oregon on the of jan 23 2017 checked today the 24 know im under Manuel review wtf
-
Carma Strong
This state continues to be an utter disappointment to me. First I was asked by the State of Oregon to take on 2 children who cannot watch themselves while I’m working. Then paid cash to the caretaker but because I’ve got no reciepts I have to pay this greedy state instead of getting a refund. Thanks Oregon a real piece of work.
-
-
Mcrt88
So, I filed my Oregon State Taxes on 1/12 and was Accepted 1/23. I filed HOH, Child Tax, EIC, Etc. but immediately after it was accepted, I logged on to the Oregon WMF tool and it already said “Under Manual Review” on bottom.
Is anybody else’s like this? I don’t see why it would go straight to Manual Review?! Ugh..
-
Bob
It’s January 3rd, 2017 and I have yet to receive my $120.00 state return.
https://revenueonline.dor.oregon.gov/tap/_/#1 says “Your return is currently being processed. Your refund or other information should be issued within three to four weeks unless your return is selected for further review.”
I’d like my return plus interest. What can I do?
-
GrandmaDragon
Married filing jointly, mailed it in for Oregon refund in March. Certified mail was delivered March 23. From then until now (May 15) it still says, “we have not received.” Nothing about manual review, no request for information, nothing. I signed up for a web account on the website and when I check my information it says balance due is 0. It better be, we are getting a nice refund. I have been using Turbo Tax for years and this has never happened before. We normally file the state first for the refund we will use to pay the feds but this year it didn’t work out like it should, we had to withdraw from retirement.
Calling on the phone always results in a recording telling me call volume is too high, try later, and then it hangs up on me. Very frustrating.
-
jaybake32
I mailed mine in on 4/15. WMR says “We haven’t received a return that matches the entered information.” Anyone else experiencing this – ie, you mailed it in but WMR says they have received nothing??
-
what now
just fyi, my deposit hit my account today.
One day after switching from “your return is being processed, please allow 3-4 weeks….” -
what now
question for anyone still checking this page out.
Oreogn WMR has changed to“Your return is currently being processed. Your refund or other information should be issued within three to four weeks unless your return is selected for further review.”
A while back I created a profile on the oregon WMR site. It was showing my account as -$704 (refund amount).
Now when I log into my profile, it says $0. Does that mean that they decided to take my money and they won’t be issuing me a refund?
Or does that mean they no longer owe me because they are processing the payment and will be sending my refund to me?Thanks in advance.
-
ridiculous
wtf is going on here?
Files Jan. 26, so we’re at 14 weeks.
Any chance I can get my money from these lames?
I can’t possibly imagine what could be taking this long? -
Kristy
I filed my return on January 28th and still nothing. Status in WMR said 12 weeks for manual review. I called a few weeks ago and they sent out a letter requesting more information on my child care expenses, however they sent the letter to an address I haven’t live at in over 3 years. My current/correct address is ON my return so not sure why they sent it there, not only that but they didn’t send the letter until March 16th. I gave them all my information and was told last week (I’ve been calling a couple of times a week now) that I should expect to see it no later than the end of April. I called today and am now being told that once they receive the requested information it’s ANOTHER 12 weeks from that date. Total crap. It seems different people will give you different information.
-
David
Well i did mine around 01/20/2016 and here we are now . . . not 10. . . not 12. . . BUT 14 WEEKS and STILL manual review. I did get the verification quiz and did it right away and STILL nothing. They don’t answer the phone or respond to e-mail either. We are literally about to complete an entire third of the year and they are STILL trying to figure things out. . . of course for our benefit though I’m sure.
-
Michelle
Anyone that filed before Feb 15th still waiting? I noticed that the average time for manual review is around 80 days as long as they don’t need any more info… It seems like ppl that had to do an identity verification quiz got there refunds way faster then those of us that didn’t actually need any info sent… I received an email saying my refund is in the final stages of processing what ever that BS means.
-
cwm
I mailed my state taxes in mid-March. WMR says they haven’t received anything. Shouldn’t it at least say “processing” if they have received my tax return? How long should I wait before resending the docs (maybe online next time!)
-
J.
Well at least I’m not alone. I just looked to see if anyone else was experiencing this delay and low and behold. I filed January 23rd. I contacted the department to see what the hold up is all about and was told it’s just random. Also, nothing else I needed to do. So here I am, April 24th and still waiting…
-
BukMan
Am I hallucinating or is origins website down now? Is it being overwhelmed with people demanding their money? Whats going on? It’s been 14 weeks for me so far
-
DJ
Well as promised I am here to let you know….my refund was deposited into my bank today. So, I wish everyone the best of luck.
-
DJ
Well, my return status changed on 4-19 from manual review to “Your return is currently being processed. Your refund or other information should be issued within three to four weeks unless your return is selected for further review.” And the negative balance that showed on my Revenue Online account went to zero.
What does that mean? Well, here is what I was told by the Revenue Department. “We have finished your manual review and when your balance changed to zero, it means that we will be sending your return or other information to you within 3-4 weeks.”
On a side note, the lady I spoke with said she did not see any reason my return should be delayed any further.
I don’t see why it was delayed in the first place. I never did receive a letter from them or anything.
Will post again when I get my return.
Tax return filed and accepted on 1-31-16
-
Chris
I finally got mine filed jan 30 good luck to wveryone
-
Michelle
Tana,
Sound like the fastest way would be to make an account with Oregon revenue that way you can view the letter and submit needed information online instead of through the mail. If you do it online the information is usually reviewed within 10 days. Best of luck. -
Tana Rowland
Michelle,
i called for the second time last week and instead of her saying they were sending my money this time she said “there’s a letter going out on Monday they are requesting more information on your disabled child” she said AFTER I GIVE THEM THE INFO THEN ILL GET MY MONEY 12 WEEKS AFTER THEY GET THE INFO. This is insane! What should I do? -
Chris
Mine just changed from 12 week Manuel review to being processed 3-4 weeks what does that mean
-
Michelle
Tana,
What kind of information are they making you send in about your son?Update: 9 weeks and still nothing. They have not requested any information or identity quiz. At this point I feel like they might have misplaced my fiancés return. Yesterday I emailed Oregon Revenue and the senator to express how wrong this whole situation is. There should be no reason for his Oregon refund to take so long. He filed part year residence for Oregon and South Carolina. He received his South Carolina refund back in a week same with his federal. You would think that if there was something that needed to be reviewed the federal IRS and South Carolina would have stated so.
It’s funny because tax season is over and they expect everyone to have paid their taxes or at least set up a payment plan but it’s okay that they haven’t refunded our money yet.
-
Tana Rowland
I filed my taxes on February 1st and received my federal a week later. Oregon put me under manual review and eight weeks later sent me a letter about an identity quiz, I did it the same day. It is now April 15th and I was told last week I’ll have my refund. Now they’re making me send info about my son and it’ll take another 12 weeks! I won’t get my refund until summer! I worked so hard all year just to be treated like this for my own money! Please help me!!!
-
Zeke
I sent a letter and link to this site to Oregon senators and reps. A week later, my refund was deposited to my account.
-
MakeItStop
I agree Ken. Im tired of coughing up the cash for them to play with and sit on. Im about 12 weeks now and still waiting. All my personal friends are in review and are at 12 weeks and waiting. Their friends and family are in review and are at 12 weeks and waiting . . . online message boards like this one are showing everyone still at 12 weeks and waiting. I think they plan on holding onto all of it as long as possible (at least 12 weeks) before they let go of it. Its all automated for fucks sake anyway. Nobody is sitting there manually going over each and every tax return. That would take 50 years
-
Ken
Im in the same position as most of you. Did my taxes thru H&R like I do every year and got put into this manual review BS. Heres what ive done and I would advise all of you to do the same. Change your filing status at your work so that you get less money taken out of your check for taxes. Then at the end of the year you will owe them a little bit. Take all the way up to April 15th, and then if you owe them a small amount file an extension to even make it longer until you have to send them their money. I will bet you that if every one did this the BS would stop immediately.
-
Michelle
Still nothing… Haven’t even received an identity verification quiz… Wmr still says manual review… Getting ridiculous…
-
Cameron
I filed my taxes in early february (maybe even late january) and I have a “manual review” on my taxes. still haven’t received my refund
-
Bab’s
I got my Money today! After 12 weeks of waiting! About time
-
manualreview
Mine still says the same dang thing
Happy for you, hopefully I get there soon. -
Bab’s
So I checked the status today and my Oregon no longer says maul review . After almost 12 weeks it now says state is processing. It also says 3 to to 4 weeks for refund or for something to be sent in mail with more information. My question is. Is this a normal thing for the website to say. Or is there something going on? Will I get my money or not? Again it’s my money and I want it NOW!!!!!
-
manualreview
has anybody that filed through turbo tax got their refund?
not that I expect anybody that has received their refund to be checking this, but…filed and accepted 1/26.
this is getting dumb.
-
Kindra
If you have not called them yet do it. They sent a letter for identity verification that I never got I had to have them send the duplicate, did my verification and I am out of review back to 3-4 weeks.
-
Why isn’t this all over the news?? I have been in manual review since January 20th and have been told several times by email and phone that is can take up to 12 weeks or longer. How is this legal? Why is it that the State can take so long to process a refund? There are hundreds of people in manual review and nothing is happening. It’s infuriating!!
-
Laura
Welp I’ve been waiting since 1/20, I completed the online identity quiz over 2 weeks ago which was ridiculous. Still nothing. So I called today, waited an hour to speak to a nasty shrill woman who told me that I did not do the quiz. We went rounds on that. She said she can request that another letter be sent, as I need some arbitrary letter number. Then I can redo the pointless identity quiz. Near the end I just started laughing and I asked her to just tell me what the state’s problem really is, delay tactics? Broken machines? Not enough employees? She became very angry and told me that this is a careful system of checks and balances. She hung up as I laughed even harder. So who knows if I’ll get the letter or if this identity quiz will do the trick. Just stupid. Stupid stupid stupid
-

I get what manual review means and I get that there is a “New system” in place. 1st of all. . . I would like to know why it is so time consuming. . . after all WE did all the work and most of us used a guaranteed flawless system like turbo tax or perhaps another tax prep service that specializes in getting taxes done accurately. There really is NOTHING to review. . . NOTHING. Even if they just wanted to look at it, they could literally skim through one tax return in less than 10 min. 2nd. . . the new system? What about it? Is it causing problems? They don’t know how to use it? WHAT? They had ALL YEAR to figure it out but they are going to act like they don’t know whats going on. Heres an idea. . . don’t utilize the new system until you have your SH** together first. . . . then launch the new system. I literally was one of the first people to process my taxes back around Jan 10th or so. Everything was fine. . it went through. . . . MANUAL REVIEW just like every FU***** year. First it was 10 weeks NOW its AT LEAST 12 WEEKS OR MORE???? For what? There are only about 4 million people in Oregon. Thats like one major city population for the entire state. Taxes are an entirely automated process once we file them. . . WHAT THE F ARE THEY DOING THAT TAKES SO LONG? I did the stupid ID verification quiz that asked 5 of the dumbest questions which wanted the same stupid info that is on my tax return every damn year. How the hell does me verifying this information have anything to do with anything? And still. .. they haven’t accomplished the task.
-
not America anymore
Manual review is because Oregon went to a new system and because government now controls your health care. They must now verify that you are a good citizen and obeying all their new regulations. The feds put all the burden on the states to do this so the delays will come. Been to the DMV? Welcome to your new tax, healthcare, are you up to date on all your bills and many more regulations to come. 2017 brings even more Obama care health taxes that most Americans are clues about. Good Luck

This is what happens when we have incompetent government leaders and workers. These lazy people are what I call empty suits. They only go to work to collect their paychecks, nothing more. No pride, incentive for perfection, no drive in life. Just waiting to collect ther Pers when they retire at 50 then double dip to take jobs away from the society. We need to find these managers and call them out. They need to be held accountable.
-
DJ
This is beyond asinine. I filed my return on January 31st 2016, they accepted it the same day and here I am still waiting over 8 weeks later. I have received no letter from them, no message on Oregon Revenue online and everytime I call it’s the same old story.
I think it’s bull crap that we pay our taxes like we’re supposed to and then they hold on to our money because they can’t pay it back! We’re the ones that are suffering for their ignorance. They don’t give a crap that some of us need the money back now, not tomorrow, not next week, not 10 weeks from now. One of the times I called them, they ask me a whole bunch of questions to verify who I was, so they have all the information they freaking need, yet I still have not heard Jack crap from them!
Last year my return went into manual review as well, but it did not take this long. I still had it back within 4 weeks. I feel that they need to get their thumbs out of their ass, clean their belly button window and get this crap on the road so we can have our money back that we rightfully deserve!
Thanks for letting me vent here! At least I know I’m not the only one going through this, there’s a lot of us in the same boat rowing the same way….up the creek without paddles!

This long audit of everyone seams to Show the real Oregon Revenue department. That is unorganized, over funded, and behind in technology. Does everyone remember the Oracle Health Insurance??? Oregonians paid millions Dollars to get affordable medical insurance. Well they are suing Oregon and Oregon is suing them. Well this new system seems to be exactly the same. We pay out and we have to sue the state for our own money back.
I have been sending the same return for 35 years. Not 1 change. I was accepted 1/21/2016 and have heard nothing. From now on I am sending my return in the same way I have been in the past on a piece of paper. I seems to be the only thing the state really knows.

All,
Email your Oregon Elected Officials… Enough is Enough… This has made me so upset the last 8 weeks

It has now been 10 weeks since I filed my taxes. I did the identity quiz almost two weeks ago, and now I’m being told now that I passed now I have to wait even longer because now they have to varify that I actually did pay child care last year. They have had 10 weeks already this is beyond ASSININE! IT’S MY $$$$$ and I want it NOW!!!!
-
Tiff
I got my refund today after over 2mos of waiting. For those of you who are still waiting I’m hoping you guys get your $ soon.
-
Tiff
My refund was deposited today, it only took over 2mos! I’m hoping that those of you that are still waiting will get yours soon.

My mom filed her state electronically back at the beginning of Feb. and she has had me check on her refund status. It has went from 10 weeks to 12 weeks or longer. manual processing. It’s a very simple return. We think there is something definitely fishy here. Like maybe they didnt have the funds to refund everyone and they have just been stalling. Kind of like when the Federal government borrowed from The Social Security fund.
-
Michelle
So my fiancé still hasn’t received anything. He filed 2/15 and was accepted the same day. It sat in processing for 2 weeks before they kicked it into manual review. He hasn’t received any letters and there is a credit on his Oregon revenue account. Wmr still say 12 weeks. Spoke with a rep and they said it doesn’t look like he is going to receive any letters and that hopefully it will complete manual review before The end of March. I just don’t understand what is taking so long. I almost wish he would get a ID quiz so I knew they are at least looking at it.
-
Still waiting
I filed my return on 1-31-16, it was accepted the day. On 2-10-16 it went into manual review. To this day, it still sits in manual review with a change from 10 weeks waiting time to 12 weeks or longer from the day I filed.
I have contacted them on the three different occasions, with pretty much the same response. “A return can go onto manual review for many different reasons. It does not mean that something is wrong with your return, we are just bring careful and we have a new system this year”
Do you think they care that we need the money that is rightfully ours? NO! Do you think they are really going to pay interest? NO!
So, here I am going on 8 weeks, no letter, no messages on their revenue online, nothing.
My daughter filed the day before I did and she has received her refund already.

Today my refund status went from manual review 12 wks to the regular “processing”. It did take about a week for the status to change from when I verified my ID online though. When I log into my account on the ORS website I see the refund amount too, so I’m praying that it goes through soon because quite frankly… This has been a nightmare to deal with.
-
Laura Jensen
Oh, I have created an ODR account, but I can’t get into it. The site rejects my sign in, even though I use the same sign in for everything, nor will the site re-send me a new password or username. I have requested that the site re-send my password/username at least 5 times, nothing.
-
Laura Jensen
Again, still, nothing. I completed the identity ‘quiz’ on Saturday, initially approved 1/20. My WMR continues to say in process, could take 12 weeks or more. No further information provided, no movement. My refund is very simple and very straightforward, no offset no childcare etc. I’ve given up, calling is pointless.
-
manualreview
Thanks for updating.
Anybody that got switched to the 12 week update been refunded?
-
So-and-So
Refund received this morning. Three business days after ID verification completed.
-
So-and-So
Actually, my wife and I got married this year so the kicker increased. The adjustment was based on our combined single returns from 2014. Still haven’t seen it though.
-
Tiff
Can you elaborate? Adjustment to your kicker as in you’re owe more $ or was it reduced?
-
So-and-So
Update: Did ID verification. Received letter about offset/adjustment for kicker. Says balance zero in my account and full proposed refund. Not been deposited yet. Any ideas? Letter sent 3/21.
-
manualreview
Same here Yvonne. Switched from 10 weeks to 12 weeks sometime last week. Haven’t got anything in the mail. Hoping to get the refund soon.
-
Yvonne
Filed February 7th accepted same day federal came back fast I’ve been in manual review for a long time went from 10 weeks now to 12 weeks. I haven’t received a letter nothing my return is simple nothing new and not much coming back but pisses me off I paid a lot into the state, something smells fishy.
-
Michelle
I have noticed that anyone that has an offset or had there refund amount change got there refund processed quicker. My fiance’s still says manual review and doesn’t have any letters stating they need more info. I filed two weeks after him and mine was processed and offset in 12 days even after it went into manual review.
-
Tiff
When you filed your tax return you should have been given the amt you were due back from the kicker. Did you verify if the amt deposited matches the kicker? Otherwise you might have had an offset where the rest was paid towards an outstanding debt.
But as for myself.. I’m still stuck in manual review despite passing the ID verification I did last week. So frustrating that the ORS doesn’t appear to know what the hell they are doing, ugh! I’ve been tempted to call again but the high chances of being stuck on hold just to be told they have no idea why my refund is under review tells me I shouldn’t bother. So I guess I’ll patiently wait for a resolution, if ever.
-
Jill
I got a partial refund – looking further into it I guess they only deposited the kicker but not the rest of my refund? Has this happened to anyone else? When I check the where’s my refund site it just says that my refund has been deposited, but nothing indicating it was only the kicker. So frustrating!
-
Mine was accepted on 2/7 and went into manual review instantly with the 10 week wait. Today it says 12 weeks? Wtf? Has anyone else had it change like that? I used tt efile and fed came back in a week. It’s all the same as last year’s and I have never had a problem before. This sucks, I totally count on that. It’s only 1072 I’ve gotten bigger refunds quicker previous years :(
-
Laura Jensen
I filed a straightforward simple return with Turbo Tax. I was accepted by both State and Federal on January 21. I just received a letter of request for identity verification. I completed the ridiculous steps, no further information available at all. Maybe I will receive my refund? Maybe next week? Maybe never?
-
manualreview
I created an account no oregon dept of rev. site. Where do I look to see if I have an offset?
I created an account but don’t see anything like that. My refund says ontime processed. WMR changed today to say “some manual reviews take 12 weeks”
hopefully I get an update or something soon. -
Hope
Update: got my refund today.
-
Michelle
Jeff,
It’s amazing to me that they are quick to manually review the returns that are being offset but others are still waiting for no good reason. It also amazes me that I have spoken with 3 people with Oregon revenue and no one was “at Liberty” to tell me this. No I’m going to have to wait even longer for an appeal to go through. -
Jeff
Michelle,
I just did the same thing. I apparently owed some money for a hospital bill and they took my whole refund… Well at least I know now that I will not be getting a refund -
Hope
In Manual Review as well. Got the letter yesterday as most of you did for ID Verification, but I’m a little worried because after filling the verification it said they could request more information, and I know that’s been a possibility with my return from the beginning as I claimed daycare. However, after finishing the ID Verification my WMR went from “Manual Review” to the regular 3-4 week processing….will update if mine come in soon, but I highly doubt it. Filed and accepted 2/23
-
Michelle
So I went ahead and made an account with the Oregon revenue online. Found out they offset my refund to an agency that I do not owe any money to. My fiance wmr still says in manual review but when you log in it says it’s been on time processed. I am so confused on why this is happening. It funny how mine was manually reviewed in 11 days since they offset it but it’s been 4 weeks and my fiance’s hasn’t budged. I’m really thinking its time to call some lawyers.
-
Jeff
I am in the same boat, Michelle. Went from manual to 3-4 weeks on March 11th. Still no refund. I had a standard return submitted in early February that went to manual review within a week. I will keep you updated on my end.
-
Michelle
From what I have heard once you complete the identity quiz it should start processing within 48 hours and then it’s then it’s the regular wait time. It’s a little ridiculous people have to wait 8 weeks for a letter to verify identity.
-
Tiff
I finally got a letter in the mail today to verify my ID… It took them almost 8 weeks to send me a letter, I’m so pissed to say the least. No major changes for the past several years, so no reasons really to be put under manual review. Was it 45+ days where I’m owe interest? Better!
-
Yvonne
I filed February 7th received my federal 7 days later and Oregons been in manual review nothing different so it must be the kicker and Oregon sucks sorry but they take and take and never give.
-
BMG
I efiled Jan.21 oregon excepted the 22nd went into manual review 3 weeks later just got a letter in mail today asking me to do the identity quiz wonder how long it’ll take now another 10 weeks
-
Michelle
Does anyone have an Update????
I don’t really have an update. Fiancé s wmr still says its in manual review. He efiled with h&r February 15th. I efiled through the states free website February 28th and it was kicked into manual review immediately. March 12 it changed back to the regular 3-4 week processing message and has not changed since. I still have not received a deposit. I spoke with someone on the phone today again and they said they can’t tell me when it’s going to be done processing and as for other manual reviews she cannot elaborate on why it’s taking so long. I just don’t understand what they are processing… Isn’t the manual review supposed to take care of all that work… Has anyone gotten their refund back yet? -
Michelle
My fiancé claimed head of household with 2 dependent and a kicker and his is still sitting in manual review. (Filed through h&r block). I filed through the states free efile as single with one dependent. I also claimed $0 on my kicker even though I was due $157 back. Everyone that I know that didn’t claim a kicker has already gotten their refund so I’m guessing that’s why mine didn’t take that long to manually review.
-
Tiff
Michelle,
What was your filing status & did you claim any dependents? I’m still waiting for my refund that has been sitting in manual review since late January. But I don’t know when the ORS make their deposits..
-
Michelle
So checked wmr and my fiancés still says manual review but mine changed back to the 3-4 well message. Still haven’t received a deposit.. Crossing my fingers… Anyone else have an update. And does anyone know what day Oregon does refund deposits?
-
Michelle
So my Fiances State was accepted 2/15 where is sat there for a week before changing to manual review. Still no update and he hasn’t received any information as to why. He claimed head of household with 2 dep. I submitted my Oregon state 2/28 and it was accepted the same day. The very next day it was kicked into manual review. I called to see why it was automatically sent to review and all they could tell me is that the system is sending almost anyone who claimed a child or head of household into manual review and that as long as there are no errors I should expects to see my refund within a few weeks. They did state however that if they need to change or verify anything that refunds could take more than 10 weeks!

Update:
Filed and accepted 1/21/2016 with Hr Block. Oregon refund $1301 went into Manual Review 2/25/2016 saying wait ten weeks. This morning 3/9/2016 went to processing wait 3-4 weeks.
Impatiently waiting………………..

Update ….went from manual review back to processing this morning. My son did the same yesterday. Both filed feb 16 TT.
Will post if updates. -
LOL
LMFAO. Manual review. Allow at least 10 weeks. I wonder if someone owes if they can give the same courtesy f#*king to the state? I’m guessing not. Bout ready to get a hold of my attorney. When will you Oregonians learn to stop voting these Libtards into office
-

I used Turbo Tax and my state return is in manual review. Federal return took about a week. It’s been over a month and haven’t received anything in the mail or on the phone. My return is $400, filed single, one job, & no dependents.
-
Kiley Vargas
I filed mine on January 12th and both state and federal were accepted the following afternoon. I got the federal return back by January 29th but I am STILL waiting on my state return. The odd thing is the “Where’s my refund” website for Oregon says they have yet to get a return with my info….
-
So-and-So
Yesterday, my return status on the DOR website said, “manual review”. This morning, 3/5/16 the status says, “ontime processed”. I filed jointly with my wife through Turbo Tax and opted to receive my refund on the NetSpend Visa. I received the card yesterday and had to add my spouse to the account in order to allow the deposit of the refund from the state. I haven’t received the funds yet, but I’ll update this post when I do.

I’m currently working over in Afghanistan right now for the United States, and am a combat veteran registered with disability in the United States. I spent more than 340 days in Afghanistan this last year (2015), and due to that I was able to claim a much lower rate of taxation. I’m ENTITLED LEGALLY to a pretty large return this year, because instead of doing the extra paperwork, I over-payed taxes all year to the state of Oregon because I knew I’d get it back. I really don’t ask for much, but this is unacceptable. I my return was submitted/accepted on January 26th this year, and has been under “manual review” since two days after that. I’ve consulted with my two tax agents, as well as two very knowledgable tax attorneys, and have been informed I’ve got the right to a interest balance accrued by them sitting on my refund. The more residents that do this, the more hope we have of ODR getting their act together. There is nothing fishy about my return, I’ve gone as far as to CALL ODR, sit on hold for 45 minutes, and volunteer to resend all of my tax information for the year to possibly add some clarity to any possible questions they may have, and was told “that won’t do anything.” This is absolutely unacceptable. I’m working on closing on a house with my newly-engaged fiance, and we’ve done all the work together while I’ve been overseas in Afghanistan. For THIS to be the problem and ultimate deciding factor if we can get this house…is really upsetting.

I filed on Feb 9th 2016, got my Federal return on the 25th, but my Oregon return is under manual review. I filed thru an agent and he says it may take up to 10 weeks under manual review.
now I’m just waiting.
-
Alastor
Filed 2/29 could see it as Manual Review on 3/1 and 3/2, but today it just says processing and to give it 3/4 weeks. Maybe I’ll get the refund in a week or so like others that are not in review – anything is better than 10 weeks.
-
Cloud
I filed head of household, no day care expenses. I am also under manual review.
-

My return just went into manual review for the third year in a row. The first year, I emailed them and told them I expected them to pay interest on my return and they paid it within a week after that. Last year, they waited until the very last day before they would have to pay interest to send my refund. This year, I emailed them and told them I would be consulting with a tax attorney as it seems they have repeatedly targeted me for no apparent reason. I’ve increased my allowances on my W4 so that I will owe money next year – I’m tired of the State sitting on money they have no legal right to year after year. Total incompetence in government.

This is the first year I’ve been put under manual review & it sucks! I’m suppose to get a little over 1k back but who knows when they’ll get to reviewing it. I filed & was accepted on 1/21, it went into manual review shortly after… So a little over a month now & no notices in the mail to date.
-
Beejou
I’m not disagreeing with you, gitsy, but my son earned less than 2k and is a first time filer (no kicker). His refund is 74$ and he was put in review 2 days after he filed.

Update 3/1:
I just got off the phone with ODR. The gal I spoke to said they’re having an issue with the checks and balances this year due to the kicker refund. Said usually it’s less than 10% of population that gets reviewed but due to the kicker (and IMO, their 2.1m mistake a few years back), something like 70% of filers are getting reviewed. It’s just to make sure the kicker amount is correct.
-
LJ
gee i won the oregon bs lotto for manual review, and apparently it requires 70 days to double check h&r blocks work. i literally had two w2s for paper work, i file single, no dependents, no write offs… it’s scary that a return that straight forward can confuse the unreachable oregon “tax masters,” my refund of $156 shouldn’t be out of the states ability to cover. especially given that they had “extra money” floating around to use towards kicker checks. if they are going to hold our refunds 2 months longer than they should i want the real reasons why, and i want to know exactly what the review process entails.
-
loreanna
Filed with Jackson hewitt Jan 26. Relieved federal. Oregon says today under manual review. Are they so incompetent that they need to do this, or are they broke and waiting for funds? Sounds like they were greedy and ran out of money. Super angry right now!
-
Paul
Ok the state owes me $320 it was a really simple return. I am single only have 1 job. Filed on 2/7, got my federal refund a week later. I check the states refund website and I got “manual review” may take 10 weeks. This is the first time a manual review has happened and there is nothing wrong with the return, used TurboTax to file.
When you try calling them you can’t get a real person cause their telephone system just disconnects you after saying they have a high volume of calls and to try again later, but this happens every time.
-
Tim
Yet another return in manual review. Filed Jan 30 and it was “processing” for a few weeks. Checked it today (Feb 29) and, violà-it’s in manual review. Refund is for under $300 and filed through TurboTax… So frustrating dealing with this.
-
gitsy
Mine was instantly put into manual review (10 weeks), soon as the state received it. I filed through TurboTax, 2/26. TT customer care says there’s no reason for Oregon to have any delays – and apparently you can’t get anyone on the phone at the state on the weekends.
This is happening to so many people, does anyone have any good news? Anyone receive the “manual review” and get their Oregon refund already?
-
joe
All my relatives are under manual review ….whats going on..
-
Aria
Ours goes into manual review every year. First time, we were owed $626 back, and the next year $104. Another year, about $4k, and this year, about $3k. Once you’ve tossed into manual, expect it to happen every year. It sucks. We consider getting our state refund to be a pleasant surprise at this point. The state is too broke to pay what’s owed, and won’t look to other ways to get revenue.
-
Alice
I received my federal return weeks ago, I am a single mom with one dependent, for some reason I owed state taxes, I have NEVER owed state before. My boyfriend is a single we make within a 300 difference of each other annually and he received back double what I did and his state returns are under manual review. Both our were filed and accepted same day Feb 1. I’m beyond confused and frustrated
-
Cyndi Harris
I find it interesting that my son apparently owed money to a state agency and we both filed on the same day.. He already received notice his money was confiscated for the debt but my refund is in “manual” mode!! Seems they take their time refunding….
-
Stacy
Hi, mine too went into Manual review this morning.. and said to allow up to 10 weeks. Please let me know if any of your find out what is going on! Both my fed and state got accepted on 1/30. And i already got my fed..
-
Kye
We filed our return with H&R block on February 2nd. Both state and federal were accepted on the 2nd. My federal refund processed in 10 days. We recieved our Federal return on the 12th. I have checked my state refund status every day, and todat it says It is under manual review just like most of your returns. We have never had any problems recieving our refund in the past and we had health insurance all year. I have tried calling and the automated system hangs up on me. Doesn’t even put me on hold. I emailed the Department of Revenue requesting information in the form of a human voice instead of waiting forever for them to send me some letter or not, who knows… loads of bullshit if you ask me.
-
Debbie
I filed on Jan 26th, and it’s still under manual review. It’s really ticking me off, they are eager to take it but not give whats rightfully mine back. I filed with Turbo Tax too, I wonder how long before I get my refund. And I put for direct deposit, so it’s faster. NOT…
:( -

Filed 2/16…no changes from the last 10 years and checked this morning and return status changed to manual review this am. Last night it was still processing with 3-4 week message. My son, who filed 2/22 and is a teenager with a simple return and a 74 dollar refund was also put in manual review this morning. I received my fed refund on the 24th. Both filed thru TT.
I think they must have some major computer problems as it seems a lot of people went into review this am. -
Laura
Has anyone found a way to connect with a supervisor or any one else that might be able to help or at least be honest about what is really going on and when we will really see our refunds?
-
Laura
ugggggh. So I called yesterday (see other post) waited and waited only to be told nothing was wrong, no review, no answers as to why it was taking so long. I have received no letters or calls or anything. I have a straight forward simple situation. TODAY. MANUAL REVIEW. Says to wait 10 weeks from acceptance (1/20) It must be some bullshit to buy time. So corrupt.
-
Resa Hadley
Filed with HR Block….Accepted 1/21/2016 federal and state…..Received Federal 2/10/2016 and still waiting on Oregon state….I have been at 2 bars for 4 weeks…Called and they said everything was fine on 2/23/2016….2 days later MANUAL REVIEW!! No offsets, no new changes from previous years, only $900…Why am I being punished??????????
-

Filed through TurboTax online Jan 31st. Received my Federal before the expected date. Oregon has put me in manual review. I’ve got nothing in the mail saying they need more info and I can’t get a hold of anyone just an automated service. Nothing different from last year filing wise. Super frustrated.
-
Laura
I just spent an hour on hold with ODR, when I finally got through the nice man told me that he doesn’t know why I haven’t received my refund. I filed/was accepted on 1/20, with a basic, simple tax refund/situation. I received my federal refund weeks ago. I am not under review. He said I am still processing, but also said refunds are issued typically in 15 working days for situations like mine, but you can expect up to 4 months extra if you have a review. He had no other information, no answers. It has been 25 working days. It was a waste of time.
-

My Taxes were transmitted on Feb 2nd 2016 and I got the Federal refund already(it’s Feb 24th as I type). My Oregon refund is “being manually reviewed”. Been filling with TaxCut/H&R Block tax software for more than 10 years and this is the 1st time this has happened.
-
heiyuanai
Mine was accepted on Feb 1st, still under manual review, no letter. Called and got no information whatsoever, was told to just wait…
-
TCT
I also had my return accepted January 22nd. The refund site shows step two and three to four weeks to receive refund. Well, it is over four weeks. I called Friday and was told the refund could take four to six weeks. I am not in manual review. I thimk they must have a major computer snafu. One would think the state would be up front about any software issues after the screwup with Cover Oregon. I also know that they issued an update to tax software programs in early February. I wonder if folks who filed before then got stuck in some limbo land and the state has to manually process the returns submitted before the final update when to tax software vendors. Something is not right.
-
Danielle
Filed and accepted my OR state return on 2/8 and no update as of yet, website still says please wait 3-4 weeks.

Nothing here as of today 02/20/2016. Accepted on 01/25/2016. It doesn’t say manual review on my wmr oregon. Still waiting…..
-
Susan
We filed using Turbo Tax as well. It was accepted both Federal and Oregon State on Jan.30th, We got our Federal Refunds weeks ago. Still waiting on State. My BFF filed hers with H&R Block on the same day and she got her State refund last week. I also did my son’s on Turbo Tax and he is still waiting for state as well. We itemized he did not. Neither had child care of any kind, but we both had insurance through work, not the one through website. My BFF has healthcare.gov insurance and got some kind of credit for it. Ours still says step 2, being processed may take 3 or 4 weeks unless selected for manual review. HOW DO WE KNOW IF IT WAS selected for manual review? Nothing mailed home about anything either. So tomorrow marks the 3 week mark.
-
Laura
I filed through turbo tax, accepted on 1/19, have received federal refund on 2/5. I have not heard anything, no mail, nothing. The WMR says it is in process. I don’t know if it is of any use to call, as it just depends on how grumpy the person is that you talk to. My refund is really simple, less than 600$, straight forward.
-
LAURA
My state return has been processing since it was accepted on January 25th with no update what so ever. No manual review notice no nothing. I have called and they wont give me any information at all. My state return has never ever taken so long. I filed with turbo tax and I have child care credit but I do every year.. this is very frustrating. I created an account of the ODR website so that I could see if there was any more information regarding what could be going on… my return status there says “on time processed” does any one know what that means? Thank you

Filed on the 21st. Accepted on 23rd (probably the 25th). Still says processing on OR-WMR. Got FED 10 days ago. It is strange how others with similar dates got theirs quicker. My return from OR is <$500.
-

Filed 1/18, Accepted 1/19; WMR OR still says it’s processing as of 2/11.

My brother filed 1/19 and was accepted 1/19 and got his refund 1/25. We filed 1/22 and still two bars… I guess the waiting continues! We did get a federal ddd today though! Yay!

I filed my taxes on 1/18 and they were accepted by Oregon on 1/19. They have been sitting in manual review since. I used Turbo Tax to file. I haven’t received anything from the state requesting any information. I am not even getting that much back, I am filing head of household, and did claim childcare. A couple of my co-workers filed last week and already received their refunds. Hopefully this is cleared up soon for everyone.
-

My Oregon refund is under manual review status as well done with hrblock online… My return was pretty simple small business three dependants and no childcare was accepted on 2/2 we will see
-
Kim
My fiancé filed about 10 days ago and it went to manual review after status bar sat for a day or so at “accepted”… I filed 2 days ago and mine went almost directly into manual review. I itemize deductions so that may be why mine is held up but my fiancé has a simple return. If it’s actually an issue with the computer system they should put that info on their website. This is so frustrating.

I called the Oregon Dept of Revenue last week and they told me that they didn’t know why I was under manual review and to give it 30 days to call back and after somebody got around to looking at it. Well, I looked on TurboTax and it turned out that they had an Error specifically for Oregon state returns when filing Head of Household, I am pretty sure I was part of this error (not 100% though). I called TurboTax, they said they would notify the state to correct it. I called the IRS back and let them know that TurboTax had this Error and the man I spoke to was super nice and said he would notate it on my account.
Long story short, I checked my Oregon WMR on Friday 1/30 at night and the “Under Review” notice, that was on there, had been removed and replaced with the standard “Your return is being processed”.. So HOPEFULLY I will have my refund very shortly.P.S. My fiancée filed her return and her WMR didn’t update until the day after she had already received her funds as well..
-
Filed 22nd, just got Oregon refund this morning, 29th. My WMR stayed at 2 bars, I never had review message. So, Oregon WMR did not update for me before sending deposit, last night it said processing, this morning I got the money. Good luck everyone :)

my State WMR is now at 3 bars, so itll update, after you have the money. -

My Oregon State taxes were under manual review. I just checked this morning and it said that this:
Your return is currently being processed. Your refund or other information should be issued within three to four weeks unless your return is selected for further review.
So that is progress. They have never sent me anything and I have no idea why it was in manual review, but at least they have finished their “manual review” or so it seems.
Have a great day everyone.

I called and checked on my status this morning.. Im still processing (no manual or anything). The guy I spoke with was super nice and told me that the delays and manual status are alto more this year because they put in a new computer system on December 1st. He said it has been causing problems with refund issue dates and put alot more people into manual review.
The systems decides when it goes out (and updates)He said they are trying to work on the system to make it more efficient but at this point its a waiting game for everyone.
This is the spiel I got. Maybe he was bullcrapping me but I figured I should share .
Good luck everyone. -

Manual review here. Filed using HRblock.com
Nothing really changed from previous years, never had manual review before
-
Filed 1/22 at like 2 minutes past midnight. Still at 2 bars, no manual review. I did use Turbo Tax.
Edit
mine said manual review then top of page changed to say were doing what federal does, so wait till 15th then after that it just changed to being processed and 2 bubbles (bars) on Oregon WMR. -

To MCRT……I am under manual review from Oregon and used Turbo Tax as well. I wonder if any others under manual review used Turbo Tax…..???

So my fiancée filed her taxes the same day as me, right after me actually, on 1/19 at around 4PM. We used TurboTax.. Her WMR tracker has changed as things happen, but she has never gone into “Manual Review” like I have. Last night the WMR still said it was “Processing” her return, but when she went to her bank account (to check to see if our Netflix was paid) she saw a pending deposit for her return from the State of Oregon. This morning WMR is updated and funds are available… I am still sitting in “manual review”…
Her return was almost identical to mine!! Same daycare provider, same everything, she claimed her son.. The only difference is, this year, my son was a “qualifying child” but not a dependent because it is his mother’s year to claim him. That is literally the only difference in mine and my fiancée’s return. Apparently, I was told by TurboTax that they have had some issues and problems with their software this year when it comes to returns in the State of Oregon. Which is most likely why I was put on “Manual Review”..
Did all of you who are under “Manual Review” use TurboTax as well? If not what did you use? Did you have Dependents? Child Care? Just wondering..

I submitted my federal and state taxes on 1-9-16 and Federal was accepted 1-11-16 and Oregon State accepted on 1-13-16. My Oregon taxes are under review or being manually reviewed, but I guess that others are too. Fingers crossed!!! Please keep updating.

Wow… That is at least 6 people I know and 4 online that I have seen been put under “Manual Review”… When I called and talked to somebody he said to call back in 30 days… FML.

I was accepted both state and fed on the 11th. Checked this morning and my oregon return is under manual review. Not sure why that would be we have claimed the same kids and jobs for the past 6 years. This sucks.

I wanted to let anyone interested know, I filed on 1/18. Both state and federal were accepted 1/19. Oregon has had two bars since 1/20. It still says it today, 1/23. I checked my bank account this morning and the money was in my account! It only took 4 days since accepted.
I have had the “manual review” show up the last few years and it was because I had to prove, with bank statements and receipts, that I actually paid daycare costs. This year I only claimed 900 in daycare whereas the other years it was over 2000, so I don’t know if that made a difference or not. It took only around 2 weeks after I sent the proof to receive my refund those times. Good luck everyone!

Hello.. Well, I filed my state and federal taxes on 1/19 with TT and today I went to check my state refund for Oregon and it currently is on the 2nd bar, but underneath that it says that I am under “Manual Review”.. UGH! I don’t know why I would be under manual review, as I never have been. This is the first year I am not able to claim my son because of a recent court order and OF COURSE something would go wrong. I don’t know if it is under review because I don’t have a dependent but I still claimed the daycare that I paid for him or what it is but I am frustrated about the whole situation to say the least. Has anybody else been put under review? Is it just me? I am hoping it is just an error on the site or it is happening to a bunch of people and is something small like an “extra look” that I won’t have to go through a long ordeal for..

Does Oregon even care that all this blogging and complaining about their legally due refunds are being ignored using a necessary manual filing review as an excuse to not give people back their entitled money? Funny that millions of pissed off people doesn’t even get them motivated.

Same goes here – filed in early February, still waiting for my $323.
This is absurd. SOME of us plebeians rely on these chunks of change that the government wouldn’t notice either way!
-
ORLV
Filed in April, still waiting in August. Whatever is going on with them is ridiculous.

I am in the same Manual Review group..been 4 months..I believe we all need to contact our representatives and go to the media..something is very wrong

Oregon, pull your head out and give us our money back. This is ridiculous!!!

I too am “under manual review” and never have had this before in Oregon. I wish The Oregonian or a news channel would get to the bottom of this!
-

Filed in early Feb, have been under review since, and its a little over $200. I am ready to tell OR IRS to just keep my money if they do not mess with me.

I filed on Feb 11. Received my federal refund very promptly. The state owes me a $345 refund and I have not heard a single word. It’s just “Under manual review”. As someone else mentioned, the website keeps changing its time estimate from “8-10 weeks” to “10-12 weeks” and finally to “12 weeks or more”. This is insane! I would hope at some point legal action could be taken against the state for just deciding to keep people’s money. I’d better get interest in addition to the refund amount when they finally decide to pay me.
The one thing this has taught is to adjust my withholdings. I will not over pay the state a single penny next year.

My fiance filled my taxes online her self and I got my federal back in 2 weeks (filed on Feb 4th) state took a couple weeks to show they received it. It said I was under manual reveiw (10weeks) a few days later said 12 weeks. I thought it was because it was my first time filing in this state. Had a rough year and I’m homeless at the moment and it’s only $136 return but that is like a grand when your homeless and really counting on that. Should of stayed in Indiana …
-
Tm
Posting an update for all… Filed Jan 29, accepted Jan 31-still no refund 70+ days later. Went into manual review pretty early on. First said wait 4 weeks, then said up to 10 weeks, now it says 12 or more…
-
jon
Mailed mine on February 8th. Took them about 3 weeks to even acknowledge they had my return. A couple of weeks later it’s flagged for manual review. 65 days now and counting!
Last year, I mailed it in the same time and had a similar refund. Had direct deposit in 10 days.
-
Kathryn
I just filed my state taxes around March 28th and got the same “Manual Review” message you all have been getting. My question is has anyone who filed in January, February or early March received any refund yet?
-
Ken
Been 8 weeks still no response and still shows In manual review. Wrote my local congressman and got no response there either. So tired of this BS. Im going to give it a few more days and then im going to change my filing status at work so that I have the least taxes taken out of my check. I will get my refund that way. May take a few months but I will get it .
-
Sara
I feel your frustration we are in the same boat. We also filed on the 19th of January and are still waiting and under manual review. I read that 30% of people that filed then are under review because of a new system that detects errors and fraud better. It’s so frustrating as we really need the money we were counting on.
-

I think I may know what is going on. Maybe. In January on the news I had heard that two people in Georgia were arrested for stealing millions from Oregon tax returns. I’m starting to wonder if mine was one of them and they have to process a return after a file review, or because of the automated returns fraud, it is now their policy to review the returns. My return is only 604$. When I sent it in via TT; it said my refund was accepted. Something shady going on.

I did my taxes on 25 Jan 16 on the wheres my refund it said that it should take 4-6 weeks but usually se it within 21 days I was like alright. then the day of the 6th week I got put in manual review so I called and was like it took 6 weeks for the computer to put me in manual review and can take up to 10 weeks “ODD” and they didn’t have an answer so I wait till 24 Mar which is roughly 8 Weeks and call again but this time when I check it said 12 weeks or longer but if you look online it says oregons returns are on time what are we on wizard time. I am irritated because I do not have to actually pay taxes being that im mil but why not its like a forced savings account for me never again will they be able to use my money.
-
Rachel
Both fed and state were filed tt, fed came in about a week later and state said manual review right away. It said wait 10 weeks for processing. Well I checked today and now it says 12 weeks! Wtf Oregon?!? It’s only 1,072.00 nothing weird, same small amount of child care and same provider. This is crappy, I count on that every year to catch up and this year is a big hassel! Just pay us all back our money, not that hard!

Remember one thing, guys:
Per LAW, after 45 days, Oregon state must start paying you interest on your refunds. I have almost $3,100 in returns that are owed to me. The longer the department drags their feet, the richer I become. The ball is literally in their court.

I did my taxes electronically on 2-14-2016. I received my federal refund right away. When I dint get my state shortly after I looked it up on the Oregon tax refund website and it said I was in manual review and it would take at least 10 weeks. I went to H&R Block which did my taxes and they said its been happening to a lot of people this year and it could take as long as a year to get my refund. This really ticks me off considering I have a lot of taxes taken out of my check so that I always get a refund. I sent a email to the state off of their website but haven’t received a response yet. I really don’t expect too. All their doing is holding on to MY money as long as they can. Well I have the cure for that. Im going to change my status on my deductions at work so that I get the minimum taken out of my check for taxes and then at the end of the year I will owe them. Then when I do my taxes I will file for a extension and wait till the last possible moment before I send them in. I bet if everyone did this the bullcrap would stop.

I filed a simple cut and dry return with a refund of $353.00. I e-filed, and just like above went into Manual Review. I finally called the Oregon Department of revenue and demanded a reason, I got the run around, all the usual excuses, “there are many reasons it goes into revue,” “Until the files is finished being reviewed we don’t know the reason,” So I challenged that it is an over-payment, and that the Oregon department of revenue has no right to hang on to funds that do not belong to them. Then I reiterated the question, “why is the refund under review?” “why haven’t I received a letter asking for anything additional” What is the department of revenue doing with MY money?” All this in a calm diplomatic tone. The Operator then said exactly these words. “I have to end this call at this time” and hung up. Real shady.

I filed both my Federal and my state FEB 4th through H & R Block. I got my Federal back in about 7-10 days. I am in the service and have filed the same way for the past 13 years with Oregon, while waits have generally been a week or two longer then Federal I have never been placed in manual review before. This is absolutely unacceptable….. I plan to write them in the next 48 hours and express my disdain for this garbage. I also plan to follow suite as another commented earlier and write my Oregon Senator requesting an investigation into the Oregon Internal Revenue Service.

Live in WA but work in OR, filed my federal & state returns via Jackson Hewlett on 2/3. Fed return arrived super fast (took about a week) but still waiting on the state return. Checked the status online and discovered that the state return is “under manual review”. This is a first; no notice from Oregon, no changes, no issues with prior returns and the amount is just over 1K. I’m scratching my head on this one… I don’t understand why or how this happened.

I’m a legal resident of Oregon, but I’ve been in the military for 17 years now. I’m single, no kids, and I get everything back that I pay into Oregon, each year. It’s very cut and dry, and it never changes. This year, I’ve also been flagged for “manual review”, of which I’m not buying (literally). Something is wrong here, and the state department has some explaining to do. The department is acting like they’re completely broke and have no revenue to issue. I’ve seen other states do this when they mismanage their residents’ money and are then forced to sit on their refunds for as long as possible, in hopes of accruing additional interest. If I’m not mistaken, that’s why I PAY taxes, in the first place. If they can’t get it right the first time, then I will stop doing them this favor in the future; I am not required to pay, in the first place. If they’re not going to give my money back, then they will stop receiving it. I’ve given them two weeks to come clean, and then I’m sending a letter to Sen. Ron Wyden, asking for an internal investigation into the department. Like I said, this is the first time this has happened to me in 17 years. Something definitely smells here, and it reeks of tax fraud.

I used H & R to file my state taxes and now I’ve been placed in manual review . I find it very interesting how so many people have their Texas placed in manual review makes one wonder what’s going on ???

I e-filed through my sister as I do every year. Washington resident, working in Oregon. Return was filed almost a month ago now and the status was changed to manual processing followed by a change back to regular then today went back into manual. definitely strange that all of us are having problems.

I too am under manual review. .. this article best explains what is going on…several things including enhanced fraud protection..
After reading this and talking to a co worker about it today, apparently last year there was a big flux of fraudsters using electronic filing with social security number generators creating a huge amount of loss and fraud against the state.
My status now tells me it could be up to 10 weeks from filling to receive my refund. …because of the manual review.
I also used TT and requested DD of funds.
Hope this helps. -

I got manual review today too 2-25, I hope it is not going to be drama. maybe it goes through that step before payment? anyone know?

Filed 2/16…no changes from last year and checked this morning and return status changed to manual review this am. Last night it was still processing with 3-4 week message. My son, who filed 2/22 and is a teenager with a simple return and a 74 dollar refund was also put in manual review this morning. I received my fed refund on the 24th. Both filed thru TT.

I am also in the same boat. I have called ODR and spoke to a wonderful person. She informed that ODR has a new computer system this year and there is at least 50 reasons for the computer to send a return to manual review. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with who you filed through. I did not use TT or ODR website. Most of the time when returns go into manual review, it’s because the computer system either just updated or was in the middle of an update when our lucky returns got caught in the system. This is the third year my return has met this demise. It’s very frustrating.

We too are under “manual review” . It’s not like we are getting a big sum of money. $272, to be exact. Seems like a delay tactic to me. We have a very basic tax return. We did use Turbo Tax though. Guess I will have some extra Christmas money this year! ????

efiled via TT on 01/29. I’ve received my Federal Refund. But I’m in the same boat as all of you. I filed Head of Household, as I have every year since I had my son. I also filed my son as my dependent and claimed childcare expenses. I haven’t received any correspondence for ODR. I know that I owe the state for an Unemployment overpayment from a while back, but it’s barely a fraction of my return. I feel like there are too many people in this boat for it to be an “at random”. I feel like the guy who called TT directly and discovered some kind of error, is on to something…
My boyfriend filed on 2/2 (I think) through H&R Block and received both his state and federal on 02/15. He doesn’t have any dependents or anything to claim, really. So, it could be the TurboTax system. It could be anything. It’s definitely frustrating though.
-

I am under manual review and I don’t even have head of household or anything. Just regular, standard deduction, nothing fancy. I used the freefile for the state of Oregon just like I did last year. My guess is that it is their system or just random.

My boyfriend and I filed our Oregon returns within minutes of each other on 1/21/16. His was almost $2,000. Mine was accepted right away as was his. Mine had a status on Oregon’s site within 24 hours. My refund was a little over $900 and direct deposited on 1/29/16. His did not update for a week, at which point it was under manual review. It is now 2/17/16, and it still shows under manual review and no updates or letters have been sent. Then on 2/3/16, his daughter filed her own return for $106, and that one was put in manual review as well. It makes no sense, as to why manual review was chosen. He’s calling today to see what is going on or if they need information to process his request. It has now been 27 days, once it hits 45 days he is going to start charging the interest. RIDICULOUS!

i am under manual review when i called and talked them today very nice and helpful she said it was for the working family credit (paying child care) and if they needed additonal information they would mail me a letter

I also got put under manual review, and it’s my 3rd year filing, with the same employer, and NO changes. I think it’s just totally random :(

I am under manual review too, for whatever reason, never have been before. Oregon was accepted on 1-13-16. Seems as though alot of people are under “manual review”.

Ditto! I have tried calling and calling, I finally got through and then waited on hold for an hour but when the guy answered he kind of gave me the run around. Then told me that it didn’t pass the initial scan through the computer for whatever reason, or was pulled randomly for review, and that I have to wait until somebody physically looks at it. Once they do, they could either sign off on it right there, or they may require further information. Depending on what happens will determine how long it will take.. So I said “Ok. There isn’t much different with mine? Should I call back in a couple days?” and his response was “Well, you can call back anytime you’d like, but I would give it at least 30 days before you call back in. To give somebody time to look at it.”…. I was pretty pissed off at that point. To say the least.

I am under manual review. First time, usually my state is super fast. I have not changed anything from last year. I have had the same job and addy for 4 tax seasons. I don’t understand why if anyone I would get chosen. I have tried calling all day but keep getting a phone company message that all circuits are busy.
