i think if anyone is going to get an update it will show in the next few days. if anyone is still stuck on processing please let me know i am not the only one! lol just called again and they told me that nothing is wrong no letters being sent and I’m just still processing. she also told me they only update the site twice a week on MONDAYS and THURSDAYS. not saturdays apparently.. even though I’ve updated in previous years on saturdays. who freaking knows really. NJ sucks

also said if you claim the EITC you’ll always be asked for more info. which i know thats not true considering I’ve claimed that credit for the last 5 years and last year was the only year i had to send in more info to verify that.

    #4307250 Reply

Muhammad did you have checking for accuracy last year? If so, did you have to submit more info?

    #4307247 Reply

LF my sister is still on processing. No updates from me either.

LF thank you for the reassurance. I’ll be checking here for updates from ypu guys in the next few days for sure.

    #4306896 Reply

    LF(not logged in)

I’m pretty sure the site updates on thursdays and saturdays. so if anything i think you guys might get a DDD for next week, this Saturday at the earliest. hoping i do too considering I’ve never ever seen the checking for accuracy bar filled alone aside for when it showed it was approved as well.

i dont think we will have the send more info in again this year. i never seen an instance that that has happened 2 years in a row.

    #4306829 Reply

I think I did but I did not have to provide more info

    #4306807 Reply

Jennifer did you have “checking for accuracy” (last year? If so, did you need to provide more info?

    #4306784 Reply

Jennifer according to the rep I just spoke with it could go either way. Please update!

    #4306736 Reply

So if our status has said checking for accuracy for over a week, is there a chance we will get a DD tomorrow with our refund or will it have to change to approved and then give us a date? My return was accepted on 1/29.

LF – Just spoke with someone, very nice lady. In a nutshell, “checking for accuracy ” does not mean you will have to provide more info. You may but you may not. She also confirmed refunds go out after march 1st. Will be back to update when I know more. Super stressful.

@Janette 609-292-6400 i got that message the first time i called but i called back right after and it went through. just try again. once you talk to them keep me updated on what they say. can’t wait for this tax season to be over with.

    #4306635 Reply

What number did you call? I just got “due to high call volumes we’re unable to take your call”. Thank you for your response! I am praying I don’t have to go through this again, it was very stressful!

    #4306630 Reply

    LF(not logged in)

@janette honestly I’ve never seen my “checking for accuracy” bar filled in the past. it always went straight to approved from processing. last year i had to send in more info idk what the chances of that happening 2 years in a row is but i am PRAYING that doesn’t happen to me. i just called NJ customer service they said mine looks fine as of now , no letters or anything sent. i would call if your concerned and have them take a look.

    #4306601 Reply

    #4306437 Reply

Nj state refund – got held up for one year last year with “checking for accuracy”… (received my 2017 refund in January 2018) …now again I see I’ve been updated to “checking for accuracy”….assuming I will need to provide info again. Has anyone had to provide info two years in a row? Nothing has changed.

    #4305916 Reply

Mine shows checking accuracy which is the step before approved. Does this mean I should be in the March 1 batch?

    #4305693 Reply

    LF(not logged in)

NJ only starts distributing refunds starting March 1st. they are worse then federal. so lets hope were all in that first round.

    #4298529 Reply

Why is NJ so slow at releasing your state refund. Its been 4 weeks and its still on processing. I have never wated this long for my state return. Never.

    #4282395 Reply

A few days ago my status updated on the site. It says :::: We received your New Jersey state tax return and we are currently processing your request for a refund. We update this system twice a week so you can check for updates on the status of your refund request here. When we approve your refund, the approved check date will be available here…. So now we just wait :) lol

    #4265882 Reply

my info is now showing on NJs website. hoping for smooth sailing this year… fingers crossed no ID verify this time

    #4264126 Reply

Nicole, I had to very 2yrs ago. I didn’t have to last year and I’m hoping not this year. I was accepted about a week ago and the website just updated to say they are processing it today. I know they usually don’t start issuing refunds until after March 1st. I’m actually surprised to see the information showing so early for me. I usually don’t see my info online until the last week of February. 🤞🏾

    #4262337 Reply

I got a message from Turbo Tax saying my refund was accepted….but when I check the sate refund site it says they still dont have record….I filed on 01/24/19…I’m thinking by easter I will have it. Lol. Fingers crossed….last year I had to upload verification documents. Hopefully that does not happen again this year.

    #4255523 Reply

anyone get accepted for NJ yet? i got accepted a few days ago. & the state wait begins…

    #4252966 Reply

Been almost 4 months since i filed.
My return has been in pending status.
Today I checked the statud and the website says that there is no record of my return. I called the automated system and im getting the same message that i always get . Says that it was received but to give them more time.

    #4252622 Reply

Last year I had to do an ID verification for NJ. I found out from calling in before I even got the letter. The same day I found out I uploaded everything I needed on the website. I filed end of January last year and got my NJ return back the last week of March. (NJ only starts processing anything March 1) so it was pretty quick for me.

Now my real question is, do you think because I had to upload those documents last year , it will happen again this year? I sure hope not..

    #4251407 Reply

I filed my nj state taxes through the mail october 8th, 2018.
Received a notice asking for more information on november 20th and sent the documents through their website on November 27th.
Status on the nj website still says “checking for accuracy” as of 1-11-2018 but there isn’t any record on “wheres my refund”.
For anyone who received those notices asking for more info how long did it take to receive your refund after sending the documents?

    #4249514 Reply

RICHARD I filed in January and I also am still waiting check once a month and it’s been stuck on checking for accuracy. They currently owe me over 6 years of returns every year they fail to pay me.

    #4249434 Reply

Where is my refund it’s been almost 10 months and still checking for accuracy, this is ridiculous, in less than 4 months I have to file again and still waiting for 2017 and 2017.

    #4247655 Reply

I eFiled with HR Block on 4/13/18. I received my Federal in less than 2 weeks. It’s been nearly 2 months and NJ still shows “Processing.” Really???? Last year, it took less than a month. The only thing different between the two years is that one was for 2016 and the other was for 2017.

    #4247164 Reply

HOLY SH–!!!!! I finally got an approval. I filed 1/29/18 &it was showing processing since 3/19/18. I will get my refund on 5/31/18. So it only took 4 months and hundreds of phone calls. HAPPY IT’S OVER!!!!!

Hey everyone. I finally got a direct deposit date for 5/29/2018. I dont remember the exact date I uploaded birth certificates and social security cards for my family but it was the last week of March 2018. I called yesterday to check for an update. The lady I spoke to said my refund had been approved and that I should be seeing an update really soon. I woke up this morning with a deposit date. So the refunds are coming they just like making us wait

    #4247047 Reply

Filed 2.17.18 and says processing. Where is it.

    #4247031 Reply

For God’s sake people! My return was E-Filed on April 10, 2018, I then hand carried to Camden my 1099 and W-2’s on 4/26/2018, as requested.. Enough is enough! Again on 5/11/2018 I delivered both again, myself on 05/11/2018. Please what the hell is taking so freaking long to “review for accuracy” on this Senior citizen’s return. Please process my REFUND ASAP, as you are withholding my money. How would you like it if the tables were turned. Poor customer service. Advice: If you don’t like your job, quit!

    #4246059 Reply

    Hey Ashley

Lets keep our fingers crossed i think its updating now since its acting weird.

    #4246056 Reply

Still checking for accuracy for me. Was told update will be Thursday. Don’t know what time though? Supposedly I was approved yesterday and to check back next week. They tell so many lies, it’s ridiculous. At this point it can whenever I give up!!!

    #4246055 Reply

I checked at 6:18 this morning now the website is saying

We currently have no information for the Social Security number and refund amount you entered at this time.

    This may be because:

You entered your social security number incorrectly or you filed your New Jersey state tax return with your spouse and your spouse’s social security number was entered first on the return. Try again entering your spouse’s social security number.

We have’t processed your New Jersey state tax return yet. If it has been less than 8 weeks and you filed electronically or less than 12 weeks and you mailed us a paper copy of your New Jersey state tax return, check back again. Once we have begun processing your return, an update will be available for you here on our refund inquiry system.

I am not sure if its being updating or whats going on now so i will just have to wait and see.
