I had the still processing last year for 2 weeks, then poof a ddd. Being process is exactly what it means and still being proess does too. Unless you get a bad code or the dreaded (take action) don’t worry about it, after 21 days from February 15,then get concerned. And I would not call till after 21 days because you could set yourself up to get red flagged for calling too much and even checking wmr site alot. Fraud, iam just suggesting it. Good luck

Audit is not triggered from owing something. It is triggered by under/un reported income, false deductions, unverified dependents, etc.

Manual review can take a few days, weeks, or months. I am not saying you will be audited just saying there is an increased likelihood.

Wow, this is what is happening to me too! How long does the manual review take? I’m sure I have my stuff in order, Not sure what it could be??? My first year using Schedule C.

                    lol np…so i assume u meant january.

If so, “being processed” means that the computers are processing it and running their algorithms. 9 out of 10 filers move to “approved” directly through the computer system. However, if the computer flags anything, it kicks it to a manual review status where an IRS employee has to further review it. This is where it will change to “still being processed”. If the manual review sees anything more that further raises red flags or if the red flag raised by the computer is egregious, your refund will be frozen and you will be subject to an IRS audit that can dig into returns for the last 7 years.
