I read that they might be lower this year but didn’t expect such a drastic change. Anyone else see such a drastic difference without any change in circumstances? Y’all now why?
I have 3 kids that we claim

Last year it was bumped because of the Rescue Plan. This year it’s back to normal.

It’s no one here’s fault it works the way it does. And none of us would be here if we didn’t need the money, but it does stand to reason: more people, more money.
Anyway, I looked back at my return and noticed our CTC is lower than usual. The EITC is higher though, maybe just because of slight change in income.

@Howard idk about everyone else but most of my money goes to my kids and it’s not our fault that that’s how the government does it! If your bitter ass has a problem talk to your local congressman. it’s not a luxury when you have multiple mouths to feed. If you can’t afford or have a problem with how much u pay for rent move to a different state dumb ass!!! Stop crying take that shit some where else!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡. RESPECTFULLY!!!!!

You don’t pay more in taxes, you just don’t get the same credits because no one depends on you. And you’re whining about 1800 dollar rent for a one bedroom and comparing yourself to families, what do you think they’re spending for the space to house multiples? A lot more than you. You are spending less.

I pay more taxes while yall get a hand out because you had kids please make it make sense… The money people get most of the time don’t even get spent on kids… In northern Virginia near DC a one bedroom is $1800 a month so how am I spending less

Howard, single people spend less and contribute to the economy less. You only buy for yourself and generally do very little in the way of keeping things moving. You’re jealous because what, you need a few more bar nights out? The sales tax alone on goods for my kids alone could probably buy that. We have all the same expenses as you, and way more. All money put in.
Get over it.

That’s ridiculous I wish single people was afforded the luxury of getting large refunds for no reason

We claim three kids and ours was the same. More even. Not sure why you’d get less or what the deal with the CTC is exactly.
