@Saraf – I just got off with the treasury – they had issues where all 2/10 deposits were kicked back – They are trying to get them re sent and we should have them by 2/13. She said to call back on Friday if not received. Hope that helps

I’m experiencing the same thing for the first time this year I was wondering if it was because of the new earned income checks that are going out on Feb 13th I also have a small amount of earned income. I filed and was accepted 1/25 -
Under my Michigan site it says received Jan 25th and it shows the forms but no other information as far as a dd date or anything. I did have a small earned income credit so I don’t know if that is why. Hoping someone has had a similar experience. Last year I did not have to wait and I had the earned income also

Filed on 1/29 was accepted 1/30 have ddd of 2/10. It also said my information wasn’t right when checked last week. I was told it just could mean my information hadn’t finished processing yet. I was able to check and see information today

The Michigan refund tracker locked me out yesterday with the correct information. I called the number that someone posted on here and it says they don’t have any record of my return yet. I was accepted 2/2

Hey Mike. I also went with TT and waiting for my state refund through CK. out of curiosity have you checked the Michigan state Treasurer site? I filed 1.20, Accepted 1.24. According to Michigan site the review was completed 1.30 DD 2.7. My TT refund tracker says N/A. Guess I won’t be getting the deposit early 😕 😞

My Michigan tax return was accepted 2/2/2023. I filed with TurboTax and linked my credit karma account, the credit karma refund tracker says my state refund was deposited. But there’s nothing in my account.

Accepted 1/25 Updated last night to Processed 1/31 and DD 2/8. From previous experience I’d normally get it 3 days earlier than the listed date but with my date being on a Wednesday I’m not sure. I’ll keep y’all posted

So Michigan Where’s my refund hasn’t updated and now 6 weeks after they had received my return I finally get a letter. They want me to ID verify. seriously.
Same name, address, phone number, email, social, etc for years and I did the ID verify with Federal return and it took 6 weeks?
I swear this isn’t to reduce fraud, but to buy time. Had I moved, changed something, not ID verify with Federal – maybe. But I’ve been filing with all the same info for almost a decade. sheesh

Well I got a little update about my “under review” refund. Expected completion date of May 9th. Yippee :-? Only about 8 weeks more. Unless that changes again. smh

I filed my taxes Feb. 9th. Got accepted for fed on Feb. 12th, state was Feb 15th. My status bar says “under review” with no check mark. Have not got anything in the mail. Called the number and they say estimated delivery date is JUNE 7th! JUNE!!!! WHYYYY?

And mine is under “random” review again. I don’t believe the random nonsense because mine is under review almost every year. It’s either you never get reviewed or it’s almost every year. Mine has no date and it’s never been quick. I usually don’t see an update until April.
Sending a question is useless because you always get a prewritten canned response that the computer randomly selects you.

Finally got an update DDD of 3/3 Filed 2/15 accepted 2/16.

Yesterday was first time I was able to actually view my status. Last night it told me I wasn’t getting a refund and everything was complete. Very confusing because I didn’t owe anything. Federal came through last week via deposit. Checked my Michigan return this morning and now it’s telling me DDD of 03/02. The system is just jacked this year. The new one is worse than the old. Just keep checking if your being told no refund.

Still no update for me :(, but it seems like every year MI says its site is having issues. Maybe they should fix that. It’s a little scary when they just tell you no record found over and over. Even the IRS shows when received.

For Michigan, I’ve had updates happen in the afternoon and early morning. Right now they are having system issues, so who knows when it will happen. I just check a couple times per day, morning and late afternoon. Hopefully they’ll get everything working properly and we’ll see more updates for people. Mine is still sitting at they received my return

I can finally log in but it doesn’t give me any info. It just states the day they received my return. At the top they have two statuses.. return received and it is checked and to the right return under review which is not checked.
I hate the new design. Besides not really having any info, the layout is horrible. You have to completely start over with the questions to view another year.
Whomever they paid to redesign this, it wasn’t worth it.

There is a glitch. If it says no refund please call the state of Michigan line and they will let you know your deposit date

It finally upload and stated my entire refund was taken for a debt on 2/22 even though I did owe they took that from my fed and it was less then a 1/4 of my state refund they took the whole thing. I’m hoping it’s a glitch.

Thanks @alwayswaiting for giving us the info. Michigan is slower than other states and it’s WMR website is even slower. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t need their refund. Especially after this past year. It’ll be nice to,catch up on some bills with the refund.

@alwayswaiting definitely should be soon. I do know from past years I normally get the update from Michigan on Sundays. Because I checked last night and there was an error that wasn’t the “Match Not Found” one, so I figured my information was being uploaded to my account. When I checked when I woke up the update was there as I suspected it would be from previous years of Sunday updates.

Been through ID check and everything with the horrid state of Michigan . Got partial refund after 3 party garnishment – got the notice – midland funding for a debt owed over 15 years ago- I can fight it or like I’ve just done – I file bankruptcy – faxed form to treasury and they are releasing my funds $1500 today after getting notice.

I filed through turbo tax. Federal refund as applied to offset. My state taxes says issued 3/2.
My question is: Will my state refund still go through santa Barbara bank or will it go straight to my bank account.
I think that the fees (fed and state) always come out of the federal taxes only…so I’m wondering how it will work in this case.

I’d consider calling. It’s been longer than the 14 days they say to wait after your return has been accepted.

Has anyone had an offset with Michigan before I owed $200 or so from last year. I am hoping it’s just that as we do have a student loan with the Guaranty agency but we have Just spoke with them last week and have arrangements. Non of the offset has an offset in either me or my wife’s number. The Michigan WMR shows just part or all of the refund Was offset with no numbers or anything yet. Anyone have thoughts?

The yellow screen means you’re in the system and that your return is there.
I would keep checking – they updated mine twice yesterday. Looks like they did with others too.
You haven’t gotten anything to ID Verify on your Fed return? I read that Michigan and other states with high fraud are doing ID Verify PINS thru the Fed system.

I went back to the WMR and mine has updated again to a DDD of 2/28 too.
I bet they have so many HHC’s pulled that they can’t hold an entire refund to get it straightened out.

We should all call Monday. So far it seems to be a TT problem.

TT would not submit my efile until 2/6 because of the HHC – I opted not to take the credit but it still wouldn’t send my return.
They should refund the amount of the refund. The HHC is separate and is sent to the utility company.
We should be able to amend our return to no 1040CR7.
Or if they need to review it – our refund should be DD’d and they can figure out the HHC.

Mine finally updated.
Pending review 5/29
It was pulled by the computer system for manual review because of the 1040CR7 – the Home Heating Credit that TT would not allow me to efile until the 6th. I wanted to file without it.
The rest is processed and good. The HHC isn’t paid to the taxpayer – it’s sent to the utility company.
The page says don’t call until after 5/29…. Uuummmm. – Nope. I’ll be calling Monday.
Anyone else pending – is it the 1040CR7 ?

Have you checked your bank or card to see if it’s already been deposited?
The WMR should be updated for you – it’s been over 14 days. Even if it doesn’t have the DDD – it should at least show it’s there and being processed.
Did you have the Home Heating Credit? I know those were being held until the 6th because of the form.

I efiled on the 18th. No status yet on whether it has been accepted or rejected. Just at a standstill. When I look it up on WMR I get the generic yellow screen, but it also says (at the top), “We have no record of your return.”

Hey guys i just wanted to put this out there!! I filed my state 2-3 excepted 2-4 and everytime i would put in my information to log in it kept telling me i was putting in the wrong info well guess what it was deposited into my account lastnight and the state website still hasent even updated!! So what im saying is just because the website isnt moving along doesnt mean anything keep checking your bank account!!

My daughter was getting that message and tried 2020 instead of 2019. She got the yellow screen but that’s what I get too.

State of MI is so damn slow when it comes to providing information. I am so used it by now. Just give it two weeks from the date you’re accepted and info will post.
I filed on 2/2, accepted on 2/4. Their site updated this morning, but it wasn’t showing any info. The infographic they have was just blank. Just checked 5 minutes ago and it’s fully updated. DDD of 2/24. I always end up getting it the Friday before the DDD. So about 3 weeks total, just like every year.
Federal is a breeze. Accepted on the 3rd, and a refund in my bank a week later.

Accepted 1/30, got an update 2/7 for a DDD 2/14. For most cases ive seen on here it takes a week plus a day or two to get a DDD but some people dont have that experience. But that was roughly how long it took the people accepted before me as well

Same here. I filed on the 6th/accepted on the 8th.
I used TT and had them finished on the 2nd but couldn’t file until the 6th because it had to wait for the HHC form.
My Fed was accepted 2/6 within minutes. I have CTC & EIC so that doesn’t. Even process until the 15th.
As with the past 4 years I’ll probably get my MI refund a week before my Fed. If my return doesn’t have any issues it’ll probably be deposited next week.

For what it’s worth, Michigan didn’t release the forms for claiming the home heating credit until Feb 6th. So even if you technically filed before then, the state didn’t start accepting any with that credit until the 6th. I wish that the tax preparers would just say that instead of some BS that they “pushed it through”. It was the same last year too, and my return only took 2 weeks from the day the state accepted them. They could be backed up, but it’s more likely that they have just started processing ours a few days ago.
I filed my MI return on the 6th and was accepted on the 8th this year. I’m hoping it’s the same for the rest of you guys!

I called and the Rep said that she can see that I was accepted on 1/29 and I’m currently being processed but processing can take up to 16 weeks. I said I thought it was 2 weeks. She said nope it’s up to 16. Anyone heard of this?

If anyone is using H&R Block online diy they are starting to update state returns for those who are still pending. You will get a message saying your return was rejected by your state but the state never received it to reject it, it’s the h&r glitch.. Once you receive this message you can go back on there and resubmit your state. Hope this helps.

@Lisa double check with HR Block about the correct date that your State was accepted because Michigan didn’t start accepting tax returns until 1/27. Also if you have home heating credit the form wasn’t available until I believe Today 02/06. So that may be why your not in the system yet.

No problem! @Felicia And exactly Kim form isn’t available till Feb 6th so if using turbo tax they will save your state info until the form becomes available for filing on the 6th then allow you to file your state orr you can delete home heating credit and submit the rest right now but yeah basically if you have it on there nothing will be pushed through before feb 6th

Yeah @felicia home heating credit won’t be available till feb 6th so i just deleted it from my mi tax on turbo tax under delete forms and was able to file was only 8$ for me so not waiting on that to file

Just chiming in to say that every year for the last six or so years, I have gotten my MI refund about 2 weeks after I filed, and always before the website even said they had my return. I don’t go by the WMR on there any more.

We filed in February, got a letter to send in ID/W2s in March to verify identity and pending review estimated completion date 4/16. It took about 3 weeks to finally be uploaded into the system. It’s been stuck at that since and still says estimated completion 4/16. When I called 6/25 the woman I spoke to said she would send an inquiry to that department because they’ve passed the 60 day timeline, but it could take 30 days for them to respond. Finally today my correspondence page says “completed”, but on the main page it still says pending review estimated completion date 4/16. What the heck?! I’m hoping it will show tomorrow that they are sending the refund. We have been “randomly selected” every single year for ID verification and it always takes forever, but this year has been by far the worst. :(

I had to verify my my identity for MI state return. It’s taken a very long time. I kept getting the same answer, after 8 weeks they finally checked internally. Today when I checked the status my refund says completed but under the transaction where the DDD is usaully at theres nothing there. It’s all blank. Above it, it says no record found.

I’m pretty sure most people have their money but I was a “lucky” manual review. Says could be July???! But my pending review March 24th date FINALLY says completed. But the page that shows status of my letter sent to them, my ID and w2 copies, still says processing. I’m lost. What does completed but no date mean? There’s nothing, nothing saying I owe, nothing at all. Anyone who might be in the same situation or might know wtf is going on, please???

Rob- you will probably get a letter to IS verify.. they told me on the phone at first I didn’t need to and three weeks later got a letter… Hope this helps!

Nicole, i had the same thing. Mine says pending with est completion of 3/10. Says my letter was received on 3/4 but when I sent a question they told me the dept that handles it didn’t receive it until 3/11 and to wait 45 days from then. It’s all BS, there is no reason their lazy asses can’t just hit a cpl buttons and finish it. Just a reason for them to keep it as long as possible for interest. Still no change on mine. Will post when it does.

Filed 02/04/2019. Accepted 02/07/2019. Pending Review until 03/14/2019. Received ID verification in the mail 03/13/2019. Completed via telephone. 48 hours later showed completed. I now have a Refund Status of issued. Showing a DDD of 03/27/2019. I will keep you guys posted.

Filed 1/24, accepted 2/1, and since then the Treasury site has said “pending review” with estimated completion of 5/24 — that’s 4 whole months after filing… I don’t owe anything to the state, no garnishments pending, etc., so what’s the deal? I received a ID verify letter too. No reason why I would get one, nothings changed. Go online and can’t do it, so I call and can’t do it. Ended up having to send in all my info through the mail. Now I wait. Such BS! My thought is that they are doing this to a lot of people this year as an excuse to hold our refunds and bank off the interest. Not like they will fix the roads with that money. More overpaid workers for less work. Rant over!!!

Last year, I had an offset and it took a couple of extra days to process. I actually got my refund before I got the letter telling me about the offset.
But, that was last year. This year is crazy. I’ve never waited this long for my state refund.

Also extremely upset because I called day before and was told no letter had been generated. Yet receive a letter following day. If a letter hadn’t even been generated how the hell did it show up less than 24 hours later? So effing bothered. Can I retake test and try a padt address?

Online won’t allow me to verify because I cannot get anything to post in the ssn box. So I call. All my info was correct. Was unable to verify and told to send all these documents. ONLY possibility is I used my home address assuming that’s what I needed. Did I need a past address as the operator said address “most likely to be associated” with consumer credit report?

I had to ID verify last year. The online system would not take my info, even though it was all correct. I mailed everything overnight. Took 2 weeks after they signed for delivery to get into the system. Then it updated about a month later. I hope this helps.

So I filed early, got accepted the 25–basically went to processed on 2/1.
So yes, 26 GD days ago, my return entered their system and Today just now, 26 fucking days later I get a letter to confirm my ID. No rhyme or reason why my return that was in as early as they could be sat there at the fucking treasury for 3 fucking weeks waiting for a fuckign ID verify letter to generate.
I have never been victim of ID theft, the most infuriating thing about it, is since I worked at the treasury for a hot minute on their collections web site, chances are I know the people in the discovery dept that sat on it. Either way its bullshit.
Sorry for my salty language, but I’m pretty fucking mad.

The phone system for the state says updays daily Monday – Friday but doesn’t say the time and others have reported seeing changes on Saturday.
Tanya – same exact story pending til 3/10 then completed then pending again until 5/21. Contacted the Treasury and they said even though it showed completed it is not finalized until you see a DDD. Otherwise they can choose to review it again. And they said if you don’t see it updated within 45 days of 5/21 contact them again. CRAZY!
I think they are holding up refunds for people that didn’t vote for Gretchen lol. Small sample but 3 people I know voted for her and already have their refunds. 2 others and myself didn’t vote for her and we all say pending (although one just got a DDD finally). Of course I am kidding….maybe lol.

Got netspend DD. Recieved email stating there was a pending transaction that I needed to call to verify information on the 19th. Called and verified, person said it would post the 22nd (today), still nothing. This is for federal. Log onto IRS, says its recieved but processing. Michigan state still says the same thing, check back after 14 days of approval, was approved feb. 3.

I’ve noticed this year that (in my experience) State returns seem to have processed faster than past years. Mine as accepted on the 29th, exactly 7 days later it updated on the MI wmr to give me a DD Of 2/12. My bf Filed 2/12 & again 7 days later wmr updated to give DD Of 2/26. Two week total turnaround time for both of us. In the past I always had to wait the full 2 weeks after it was accepted to get an update on wmr & usually get my Federal before me State. I’m good with 2 weeks😁👍🏻

Mine had a date of 3/6. Today it updated to completed. I checked later and it said I had an offset. I called Michigan account receivables and they explained that if I paid the debt my taxes would be released. It was only 107. So I paid it. I asked a question via the wmr site and they said that it would take 30-60 days to verify the payment. Wtf?? Why would it take that long? Anyone else have an offset before? If so, how long did it take to get your money?

I updated to DDD of 2/22/19 from pending review 3/10/19. But the amount is different (more) and only one refund which makes me think no home heating credit was given…I dunno.

The michigan treasury income tax division is one of the most dysfunctional systems in the country. For example, go to the Michigan WMR page and look at their info announcement.
We are working to correct the problem and apologize for the inconvenience. for updates.
The fact that got published to the production side of their system, and hasn’t been changed yet should be a good sign of the nature of that department and the people that work therein.

Never had state pending before. Federal has only showed path one time I believe every other time I check it has said it is being processed. Hoping that will move forward after today being the 15th. I wasn’t under review but after reading some of the comments it looks to be an error that flags some efiled forms where one of the credits is used.
Considering the software – each tax service has their own – there may be a code error from one of the versions that wasn’t updated or patched. That error would cause the state’s system to kick it out.
They probably figured out what the problem is and they’re manually overriding returns with that error.
The stat system automatically assigns a date of/by for reviews. They are being done now. Probably have DDD’s fairly quickly if there are no other issues.

Pending review and to complete 3/6 in the morning but now it changed to completed with no date/transaction info. It says to check back in 2business day for another update. I’m glad it’s not in pending review and i didnt have to do anything but this waiting game ugh!!!

My pending review for 3-6 just updated to completed no DD date. Last year it updated on the 26th with completed and no date. I got my refund the 3-1 without it ever updating to a Direct deposit date.

Second year in a row trying these prepaid cards. Last year greendot didn’t give me my federal till the deposit date so I switched to bluebird this year and nothing early yet when it says two days early.

My bank usually shows pending deposits later in the evening the night before it posts but last year my State refund just magically appeared in the middle of the day & the state wmr hadn’t even given me a DDD yet. There is nothing pending on mine at the moment.
Every year seems to be different though. Last year I had a review & the year before I had to verify my identity so both were held up much longer. I’m grateful not to have a long delay this year but my impatience is like waiting for water to boil lol -
I just called and asked why my state return says under review, they informed me that they are reducing my refund because I had the wrong amount I paid to my property taxes. I paid a penalty for paying them late and I included the full amount I paid. I didn’t know I couldn’t do that.
So I’m sharing just to say you could ask a question on why it’s saying pending review. Mine has 3/6 as the completion date.

I have the same DDD. Does your online banking show pending deposits?
Mine does – my refund isn’t pending yet – it usually shows a pending deposit the day before it posts. If it does – you should see it tomorrow or the next day. Funds are usually available the next day.

From what I have seen, the only people that are receiving their refund before their ddd are those who are having it applied to a prepaid or emerald card… I have a ddd Of 2/15 & It has not yet posted to my checking account 😒. I for one sure would have appreciated an earlier DD this week, the company I work for changed payroll providers & went to bi weekly-the first one being deposited 2/15… of course🙄 Friday can’t get here soon enough 🤑

I filed on 1/28/19 with Credit Karma. My federal was accepted within hours. My Michigan return wasn’t accepted until 2/7/19. Has anyone else experienced this? From what I’ve been reading, everyone else was accepted within a day or two. I wonder if it has something to do with Credit Karma. I claimed the Homestead Credit, but I’ve done that every year for the past 6 at least.

Just logged into check on Michigan refund status. Submitted via TT 2/3, accepted wee early morning hours of 2/4, have 2/19 deposit date next week! Yay! I’m sure it would of been Monday if it weren’t for it being President’s Day that day.

I’m a pather my did my taxes on 1/17 and got accepted for federal 1/22 and state 2/1 I went into H&R Block and my state was issued yesterday but since I did the emerald advance at Christmas time they took my state refund to repay for that smh and I called my card and they said they see my federal refund but I won’t get it for 5-7 business days and then I called the irs and the guy said since I’m a pather that I had to wait the full 21 days from the 29th before they could tell me anything so I’m a little confused

My son in law received his dd today received a letter yesterday saying his was reviewed and homestead form filled out improperly so they adjusted it, it was one dollar difference. He filed 1/25 accepted same day using turbo tax. -

We haven’t recieved any letters or anything yet. Waiting on PATH as well, I read this morning either way if the government shuts down people will still get refunds so as for now still a waiting game…ugh!

@Pam I just called and got pretty much the same response. No letter sent yet and I guess there is Alot of fraud going on so they are pulling more returns to check you are who you say you are. Who knows!! Its irritating and she said my 3/6 date is just the date I should receive correspondence by from them if they need more info. It can take 8 weeks after that😭

Also I saw someone comment and say that the reason they are getting pulled is because of the heating credit which is incorrect. I have the heating Credit in mine was pulled my boyfriend does not in his was pulled we both filed through TurboTax the same day just hours apart. This is my first year ever being reviewed in my lifetime this is his third year in review it all started three years ago when he filed an amended return and the state didn’t give him his refund until almost a year later then the second year they owed him more and then send him a letter saying they don’t. Then he called and they said unless he wants to pay them let it be

Mine just started showing up today. I have a very small garnishment for an unemployment overpayment years ago so mine says offset. Not sure if I’ll get a check in the mail or what for the balance (probably) but today is the first day I’ve been able to access my status.
Lots of people with verifications this year! What a pain. I had that last year and it was a simple online identity quiz and mine was processed before the March something estimated date they provided.

I discovered that I incorrectly input an answer into “Amount paid for HMO/INSURANCE premiums” TurboTax doesn’t explain (other than by clicking the link to find out!) that they mean AFTER tax dollars.
I made a new TT account, reinput all of my info and came out with a $16 difference for putting in the wrong information when I filed. I suggest anyone to do this and see what happens, unless you have other reason to believe they would review you.
I have also filed for Chapter 13 in December, have not yet had a plan confirmation hearing. But my Federal ddd is 2/13 so I don’t think bankruptcy has anything to do with the review.
I was going to be offset for a debt owed to a creditor – but I had a garnishment release sent so they’re not taking it. So maybe they have to verify that? I have no idea. But where’s my money?!

I didn’t even think it’d update on Saturday , but maybe it’s considered Friday night’s processing batch. Girl, yes weather , phone troubles, and on top of that they’re processing is as slow as mollasses.

Long post alert for pending review experience –
For this year I was accepted on 1/30 and updated Friday to a DDD of 2/15. For folks who are pending review, I’ll share my experience from the 2017 tax year.
I filed my return in July, because I had to resolve some other things first. Keep in mind, July isn’t a super busy time of year so you’d think the process would have went fairly quick. It didn’t. I just received the refund on 11/30.
10 days after I filed it switched to pending review. I called and called to see why. No one would ever tell me anything except wait. A month letter I received a letter for identity verification with a code. I tried to do it online, but the online system wouldn’t take my address so I had to mail in the documents. It took them a month to process those. Mid-September I was told processing was complete and I’d receive a DDD within 24 hours. I never received it. Called back to find out why and was then told they had denied my homestead credit, because my total household resources were less than the total rent. I appealed that. I submitted all of those docs on 10/15. I finally received a DDD of 11/30.
Hopefully you guys who are pending review will only have to do identity verification or Only require a simple review with no extra steps, because the SOM’s processing times are super slow and each review is done separately, if multiple things are causes of concern. Good luck!

MI state tax accepted 1/30. Nothing on WMR. Daughter’s accepted 2/1 already completed with DDD 2/13. I called the treasury and it says the info I entered does not match the system. WTH? Now what? TT has no info other than it was accepted. HELP!!!

Mine says I have an offset, which I had no clue about. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the letter stating the amount, and how long it takes to get the rest of the refund, if it’s not the whole amount?

There’s a new message on their website that pops ups before you enter your information:
“Due to the recent weather closures for state of Michigan offices, the Michigan Department of Treasury is in the process of issuing receipt acknowledgments for e-filed income tax returns. It is anticipated that this process will be caught up within the next 5 business days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Mine still doesn’t show any record of even being received yet, but it usually doesn’t. I got a confirmation that it was accepted on 2/1, but nothing on the website confirming it or showing the status and same thing over the phone. I guess it’s only been five days so I’m not going to stress it. Last year I got the pending review thing and had to verify my identity through a quiz but got my refund in March.

State usually takes a day or two but refunds quickly. Last year I had my refund DD’d BEFORE they updated that it had been accepted. State of Michigan is all over the place during tax season. Never expect one year to be like the previous year.

I used H&R Block on line, free e-file both fed and state. Fed accepted immediately, state rejected immediately and said to mail, which I did Jan.28,2018. State has no record of my taxes, post office says nothing came back as undeliverable. I’m sick of trying to resolve this. I was told to resend it but all i have is the copy that states in big letters COPY, do not file. I think 2 months has been quite long enough and I believe there’s a problem with Michigan Dept of Treasury as I’ve read other complaints on line. I also feel H&R Block false advertized their product and knew they were not going to e- file state returns. I have used H&R tax people and paid a lot so this year decided to use the on line site. Big mistake. Not to mention, who has my mailed tax return? Someone wanting my personal info?

Was selected for review. Had moved out of state so I did not receive the identity verification quiz paper in the mail and when I called the lady I spoke with said that it would not forward to new address. She updated my address and had a new letter sent out but told me I would no longer be able to ID verify with the quiz, I would have to send in copies on DL and W2’s. 2 days later I ended up getting the ID verify quiz paper but it wouldnt let me complete it. I sent in the required papers and they were received on March 12 and entered into their system on March 16, I was told it could be uptown 45 days from that date. Called again in the morning on March 23 and as told it was in the final stages of review/being processed and expect unto 30 days. Called yesterday morning (March 26) and was told that review/processing was complete but no deposit date was yet showing. Called this morning (March 27) and was given a date of 4/2 (next monday) that refund would be sent to my bank. This entire time WMR online and automated thru phone says pending review est. completion 03/07/2018. Rep told me that their WMR online and phone are not working properly. If you need to call and speak to someone call (517) 636-4486 and use extension 3 and then extension 3 again. It will get you to a live representative who will verify your info from return and give you info! Good luck to all still waiting!

I filed 2/3 accepted 2/4 was pending review 3/11 never received anything in the mail started calling after 3/11 first rep said they sent a letter but my apt number was left off she updated it and sent another. Never received it called back a nice lady told me everything that I needed to mail in because she wasn’t sure if or when I’d get my letter. I sent everything in the same day. Just checked online and they updated my completion date to 4/1 so hopefully that means that they received it and expect to send my money out ASAP.

@Kk I had that happen a few years ago. I got a letter and did an online quiz. It didn’t take until June to receive. If I remember correctly I got my refund back in late April. It was just a random review is what I was told. The letter will have the website and code on it If it is the same letter I got

I checked this morning and had a pending review msg with an estimated completion date of March 2nd. Since it’s after the 2nd I called the number provided at bottom and the automated system gave me a date of June 2nd instead. Logged back into the website and the date changed to 06/02 on there as well. Has this happened to anyone else after calling. It’s odd. My family did make less this year, qualified for EIC second time in a row and did qualify for home heating credit for 1st time ever this year. I’ve never been in review before so my nerves are at an all time high.

My state was accepted 2/1/18 and on website nothing has shown. I contacted treasury via the website they said “Pending Review.” So I called the number and hit 3, then 3 to talk to a real person. She told me website has been not working properly all tax season and that my direct deposit is coming 3/2/18!
So if you need information, call the customer service number and talk to them before checking online. -
For those that had a pending review on your state tax: I filed & got accepted on 1/31 I had a pending review with a estimated completion date of 5/28… I checked my treasury account and its now completed with a DDD of march 1st so check your accounts

I just called the Dept of Treasury as well because my return was accepted on January 29th and it’s telling me online to wait at least 14 days (which it has been) or the information doesn’t match. Whatever that error message is that everyone is getting. Anyways… I was told that mine was selected for manual review and it could take up to 16 weeks. I honestly think they’re just saying that so we won’t call back and bog down their phone lines.
I just mailed in my 2014 and 2015 returns too. 2015 was mailed beginning of January this year and my 2014 was mailed like a week ago and she confirmed that they have both of them, but because they’re prior year returns, they usually don’t get processed until the end of the year?! I didn’t question it because I know it won’t be that long but they’re prior years and I’m not super pressed for the money. But my point is that if they already have a hand-written return that was mailed a week ago from Grand Rapids to Lansing into their system, they’re keeping up this year and refunds without problems shouldn’t take too long.

@DazedandConfused I would say yes you should be processed if you received Home heating credit. Would definitely call in a.m to double check that you are done processing also to make sure a review or audit is not holding up your refund. Goodluck

My state was accepted on the 30th. The Michigan WMR is still at the generic 14 day message. I got a letter from the Michigan Department of Treasury today. I freaked out for a few minutes. It’s my home heating credit (energy draft).
Wth Michigan!! If the wmr doesn’t update tomorrow morning I will call. But this has to mean my state refund is processed…right? -

Update: WMR on Michigan updated this morning with DDD of 2/16. Can’t remember if I got mine early last year but my 2016 says 2/9 and that’s when I actually got it. So, Friday! At least I have a date now and not just waiting. Keep in mind for next year: WMR updates on Saturdays for Michigan!

I had actually filed first on 1/26 with TT and initially I was rejected for last years AGI being a number off and I refiled 1/29 after finding papers from last years return and was accepted 1/31 which I checked everyday up until yesterday and the MI wmr site said no info available on my return. Then yesterday around 2pm it showed finally and had status as completed with the DDD of 2/14.. My last name starts with B.
today my sister in law who filed a day after me checked and as well and finally showed hers as a DDD of 2/15

I filed my myself and my daughter’s return on 1-29-18 and both were accepted on 1-31-18. I checked today, her return was completed with a issue date of 2-13-18; however, there’s no record of mine. Her last name starts with an A and mine starts with a K. I did my return first.

Maybe alphabetical… My last name starts with a W and last year it updated at like 7pm but I filed 1/26 and accepted 1/31 but nothing yet today.

Filed 26th accepted 31st still no update hoping for deposit by Monday I also noticed I received deposit 4 days before DDD in previous years with prepaid card. Got deposit 2/2/17 my DDD was 2/6/17 last year

I hope they update in real time as the returns are approved. I looked on the site and it does say at the bottom that they update daily, it does not say “once daily”. Guess I’ll just keep checking through out the day. Thankfully they don’t cut you off after checking a certain number of times daily like the federal WMR 😂

Last year I filed 1/27, accepted 1/30 and had my money deposited on 2/10 which was a Friday. This year I filed 1/26, accepted 1/31 and still getting the generic “wait 14 days…” message. Does anyone know if Michigan makes deposits every day or if it’s just certain days? My WMR updated last year in the evening like 6pm or 7pm the night before my money was deposited.

No, it says right on the WMR that it updates once a day. But, like I said, it had never updated for me and my money just showed up in my account. So I don’t really pay attention to it. Mine was accepted but the WMR says they are still waiting for info.

I don’t remember if it was last tax season or the one before that but my account wasn’t updating so I decided to call and see what was going on & the person told me everything is updated on their end and gave me my DDD… So maybe its the same this year accounts just not updating I have a hard time believing they don’t have my return after 8 days especially a efiled return

I heard they start updating daily at 9am and they update throughout the day. So start checking at 9am I guess.

Just checked mine, big fat nothing. But like I said earlier, last year it showed up without ever updating in the MI WMR. My guess, based on past years, is that we see a lot of 2/14 DDDs. Tomorrow would be even nicer, but I didn’t see anything pending in my account either.

I think a lot of us will see a update tomorrow atleast I hope ….:) its has always been about a week or so after i file when my state account updates .. Today makes 7 days since my state has been accepted so I’m hoping for a DDD tomorrow ….. Filed the 31 accepted the 31 when I try to access on the mi website it says it cant match my information, I checked everything is accurate with what it shows on my return. Seems like they are having issues they need to fix it so people can actually get access to their information.

The mi tefund tracking says .. “please allow 14 days before checking the status of your return”I’ve almost always gotten it back within 10 days in the past.
But have received nothing and the tracking won’t tell me anything, not even if it’s being processed. -
Hi Everyone! Just called Michigan. Filed 2/2, accepted 2/3, no status update yet.
She said it is “under review” because a lot of returns this year are under review because of fraud, said they would mail a letter if necessary but this doesn’t mean there is an issue.
Also said that there are several known issues with the WMR for Michigan State taxes. They are apparently working to resolve but she said there is not consistent data on the website as of right now.

Does anyone know how long it actually take to get your refund with an offset? Michigan website says allow up to 18 weeks, but that sounds absurd since federal doesn’t delay at all with offsets it seems.

My fiancé got his return a month or so ago. Mine has been delayed and FINALLY finished processing and has a DD date of 7/21. They have held my money for SIX MONTHS now. Fucking unreal.

It’s been my experience that once it’s to the garnishment stage, you’re screwed. That sucks, I’ve been there.

Just wanted to say that I have gotten my MI taxes back already on 1/27/17. I filed on 1/10, and was accepted on 1/13. I was never able to see any updates on the state WMR, it was just in my account one day.

Accepted January 19 sent in ID and w2 which was received March 30 but, not scanned into their system until April 11. I was given an expected completion date of September 1. I have called several times and given different answers every time. The automated system has an expected completion date of December 5, One woman agreed it had been tok long but told me to call back September 26 and she would push it through. I called that day and the woman that time said there was nothing that she could do and I have to wait 24 weeks from the date my ID and w2 was scanned [tomorrow, October 11]. It has now been almost a full 9 months and I have nothing.

Michigan, what a mess! Filed late January, got Federal back the first week of February. Michigan needed identity info, did that. Now the return shows proccessed/complete and it had a direct deposit date of 3/1. On 3/1 that changed to 3/2. On 3/2 that changed to 3/3. This morning it says 3/4! What the heck??

Got our letters yesterday. Have to send in copies of our W2’s AND Driver’s Licences for verification and then wait another 12+ freaking weeks (“they’ll be processed in the order they’re received”) to process. What the shit was the point of filling in my DL info if I have to do it again anyway? Really unhappy with the way MI is doing things this year. I’ve had my federal return almost a month now.

I assumed I would have to go online for a identity screening , but the letter says they want a copy of my drivers license and copy of any applicable to my return: W2s , 1099’s,SSA-1099,or K-1’s .
