Just got a letter from the IRS

Well got a letter from the irs today… it was just letting me know that I setup online access on the IRS website and that if it wasnt me then to contact them

I believe mine said kentucky. Did you order transcripts by mail? one could be that

You should know tomorrow when wmr updates since you cant view your transcripts.Good luck to you!

@Brian, I believe mine said kentucky. @Jaime, I updated to take action last year on 2/18, never got the path message last year.. Was stuck on 1 bar the whole time

I updated to the being processed message this morning but am unable to view transcripts so am just impatiently hanging out till I can check tomorrow morning to see if I update further. Was also wondering when you updated to the take action message last year was it coming out of path or going into update for ddd? Thanks for the update by the way!

I guess I have two letters waiting at home for my father taxes. I just signed him up for online transcript viewing on the 7th. So I’m debating if one of the letters is that and if the other is the “sorry we are running late” letter some people are talking about on here since he filed/accepted 1/28 and 1/29 respectively.

Where do these two letter originate from so I can tell if that might be what they are so I have no surprises this evening?

@Jaime. No ID verify for me this year. Got code 846 on transcripts with ddd 2/22. Odd because this year I have new employment, new address, new filing status and a new dependent and dont need to so im happy. Who knows why they choose to do it, seems random to me.

I check them daily online, and nothing yet. Tomorrow would be a good time to check as transcripts will update then.. ill post here to let you know

So lance? Have you been able to check your transcript yet? Any word on the dreaded have to ID verify again this year?

That is exactly what happened to me last year. I ended up calling before the letter was received by me, getting the info from the person I spoke with and faxed the form needed to the number she gave and that helped speed things along. Still did not see my refund until March 18th I believe it was, but still not the 6-8 weeks they said it would be either.

@lance, yes I had both as well as an education credit. This issue, which I am starting to see a trend in stems from marketplace health care credits. I had marketplace insurance for 2 months out of the year and received some sort of credit for it. They need to verify amounts. Apparently I have a $20 difference that I will need to repay.

There have been several reports on the turbo tax forums about yt? Really f-ing things up in regards to insurance. It prompted me did you have insurance all year? Everyone in our family did, but 2 of us had marketplace insurance for 2 months. TurboTax never asked if any of that insurance was through the marketplace, therefore never asked for form 1095A.

I would suggest that those who are seeing similar messages and also had marketplace insurance, check to make sure your 1095a is attached.

I got a letter from the irs today. Filed and accepted 1/19 through tt. No movement until last week, went from one bar and tt 152 to nothing and a generic we’re still processing and a date will be available blah blah blah. Got a letter today requesting forms 1095a and 8962

Yep hoping theres no issues this year and we all receive a ddd by atleast this saturday, the thing about path is you just dont know whats going on until the path hold is removed, because the transcripts dont seem to update with the bad codes either until the path hold is over.

You scared me! Lol! I noticed we both got pulled for id verify last year and am hoping you can keep me in the loop if you get pulled again this year. I can’t set up to view transcripts online but was able to order both via snail mail which I haven’t received yet. Who knows if they will come filled out or blank? I’m hoping they do have info on them. Also was weekly prior to this year but updated to path on Tuesday I believe which was very odd.
