The IRS started sending the letters to people who received the advance child tax credit payments and third Economic Impact Payments. The letters are meant to help you prepare your tax return.

The IRS stated information in the 6419 and 6475 letters will help to reduce errors and delays on your tax return. Child Tax Credit recipients should look for Letter 6419 that started going out from the IRS in late December. Economic Impact Payment recipients should look for Letter 6475 that also started going out in late December.

We talked more about these letters here IRS Letters 6419 and 6475.

The statement from the IRS about the letters can help answer a lot of questions you might have.

I have not received my Letter 6475 but when I was on Turbo Tax, it was trying to say that my husband and I should have received $5600 from the last stimulus payment. We did not receive that much. What exactly does that mean? I did not continue with my filing because I have not received that specific letter yet. Turbo Tax is saying that I am owed $5600. But that is not what I received. I am lost.
