      I owe state from last year but my state for this year is twice as much as I owe will they take it out of my state or federal

          They will take it out of whichever processes first.
          Last year I filed state after federal completed so they would take past due state out of federal, I didn’t want them to take from both then have to wait to receive overpaymemt..
