Has anyone ever received a surprised deposit without updates on wmr or transcrit

I was wondering if anyone has had any surprised deposits without any updates on wmr or transcripts first?

Every year so far, always receive my refund as a “surprise” my WMR has never updated through the entire process other than the one bar until AFTER I have already received my deposit! It is very frustrating to have a tool that you can’t rely on period..it works for some ppl but I noticed alot of us it never works. I filed 2/5, I haven’t had any movement so far at all and transcripts still N/A.

Unfortunately WMR is useless over your transcripts. I always suggest only looking at transcripts.

yes, back in 2015. The test batch, and I think it was the very first year of the new IRS Law. I had all the credits, MFJ…the works. I filed end of Jan, Had my refund Feb 4th. Nothing updated til 2 weeks after the fact. Never occurred again btw.

Also, what has been bugging me the most is the fact WMR says “we have received your return and it is being processed” but when I look at my 2021 transcript it says ” no record of return filed” So how can you process something you don’t have a record of? That’s what I am confused and bothered by

Every yr just about. Wouldn’t call it a surprise anymore after first time it didn’t update, I’m expecting a refund whether it updates or not. And for me it rarely does.

Last year I got my refund before wmr even updated. I don’t know about transcripts from last year

Last year, I received my refund on March 12th. Looking back at my transcript, my 846 date shows March 31st.

I have updated before my 846 showed and wmr hardly ever updates right so that’s a given. The 846 may been there just hadn’t updated to site for me to see. Not sure how that works.

Last year I updated the night before deposit

The transcript will show the 846 code before you get your deposit. Whether or not you see it is another story.
