Everyone Dealing with ID Protection Issues.. Post it!

No change to Wmr
Can’t obtain Transctripts message saying unavailable..

2/4 called Irs
Order Transcript
Based on ID Issues they need more info
Ask if it affected this years
Yes they are mailing me a letter
I can call or go online to verify my ID
I do both
They say 6-8 because of this..

This is the third year
I even called before filing to get Ip pin because this keeps occurring
I don’t know how to get one but it’s the only way I’ve seen to stop this from happening every year.

Upon filing I have them my electronic pin and ID number.. Everything to prove myself up front.. Didn’t help.

So anyone going through this?

Would like my refund, like everyone else..

I am beyond mad!

My sister received an ID Verify 2 days ago in the mail..
She proceeded to go online and answer questions yesterday!
Today she had a DDD 2/10
She filed 1/30
She got her letter 2/4

While I still haven’t gotten my letter and I filed 1/26
I verified 2/4
Online and by Phone

I’m not sure how I got on the list either..

I tried to contact an advocate today and they said I have to wait the 21 days..

I just love how they congratulate us for a mistake on there end.. Good job you past our test.. We weren’t sure you were you.. Until you answer the question.. because all of our other procedures are b/s and pointless..
Why should I put my ID number or electronic pin.. apparently they don’t prove you are you..

I’m defiantly calling Monday to make sure everything went through..

Same here. Last year I had to get an advocate to help from this identity crap thing. It took 2 weeks for me last year. This year I thought all was good I filed the 18th and accepted the 19th. I purposely filed opening day because of intuitions taking forever again and BAM on the 30th or so lost bars AND tax topic!!!

So I did the whole id verify online even tho it says don’t do it unless you’ve been instructed to. Well I did it and it said “Congratulations. It could take up to 6 weeks more” (not exactly word for word there) So I also put in for an advocate today. No call back yet. It still freaks me out every year this happens.

But for me I still don’t know how I got on that damn list. I never had any identity issues that I am aware of. I can tell you every time I log in to check my status or transcripts I want to throw my phone against the wall. It pisses me off to no end. I sware I’m never going to work again just so I don’t have to file taxes and go through this crazy s$@!

I for one couldn’t order transcripts online or by phone
It would say unavailable fill out form 43 something
I had issues last year and before
Hoped it wouldn’t happen again
Called to try and get info on current year..
Had to do this by ordering transcripts for prior year because the agent wouldn’t check
Then she looked and saw past problems which I knew about
Then I was like dang how will that affect his years
She then checked and said Id verify they were going to issue a letter
Which I haven’t received yet..

When nothing was moving I knew this issues would be the problem..

I really hope it does hurry and doesn’t take the 6 weeks + quoted.. Because this is on there end.. I just got put on a list, I don’t know how.. And I can’t get off that list..

How did you know that you had to verify you ID. Did you get a tax code?

Same happened to me. Called last week just to make sure I didn’t have to verify,called today and was told to call the tax protection hotline verified online instead and it told me to allow an additional 6 weeks for processing. Extremely frustrated!

Im having the same issues.
After I thought it was solved I call back just to make sure. The second rep tells me the review WAS closed after I verified this morning but now there are codes hinting to identification problems.

On hold for almost an hour with the taxpayer protection hotline AGAIN. Just a bug headache.

That’s good..I couldn’t get an advocate because it’s not been 21 days.. I had to get one last year and I hope things work better than that.. Getting info from anyone is ridiculous.. I’m lucky I found out now and not on the 21st day..

I didn’t get a new pin either.. I used my same old electronic filing pin.. They have never given me an IP pin, which is just for this situation.. I’m going to do whatever I need to try and get one for next year though.. It’s driving me crazy, reoccurring, when they made a solution.

Kit0kat2009 of you call to get a new pin it will hold it up Everytime.
That’s what happened to me the 1st year I had a pin.
They mail me a letter every Janiary with a new PIN number. Save this letter or it will cause delays

Same thing is happening to me had to verify twice, got an advocate and she thinks im all good now she resent it for processing she said i should have it by the 19th
