EIC refund review

I filed my return January 29th. WMR still shows “processing”. No tax topic or anything. Just shows last for of SS and my refund amount. I called last week and was told I was under review and to wait 45 days but also that EIC refunds would start processing Feb 27th. Of course today I see no change on WMR. Called again just now and told my review was basically a generic review to make sure “everything checked out with my return”. He said no letter has been sent out as of yet and that is doesn’t necessarily take 45 days. Has anyone under review ever gotten there refund before the 45 days? This is so frustrating and has never taken this long. I feel like I’m never going to get it!

After we got a tip on here that everybody that filed early online with eitc/actc and ones that didn’t have the credits are being held up in review by the irs. In fact the reason early filers are being held up is because of the new tax updates that hr block, turbo tax, etc… system did not upload the new software in time for the refunds to be released properly. Indeed this is the case my wife just called hr block and asked what did the file date 2/24 mean because we filed and it was accepted on 1/29 and the worker didnt know why but the supervisor said their software didnt take in time and they had to let the irs know and the irs has had to manually enter everyones return and that was our date. If you log in to your hr block account it will be able to tell you when you go to the history when it was accepted but what file date actually was and ours was 2/24 that the irs has actually processed our return after having it for a month. THE IRS is covering for the companies not having their software updated on time. Thats the reason the IRS is saying everyone is under review with no letters being sent out.

I’m in the same boat as you. Called last week and was told I’m under review. I was told that the 152 topic meant it was going to be delayed another week. Here I am stil no change. I was accepted on the 31st. Have been processing ever since.
