Does anyone else get a letter or have a letter coming in the mail today?

Never have we had a delay in the past.

Anyone know what could be going on? My mail comes late in the day and the waiting making me crazy!

@Danny Ringgold lmao, I can assure you getting an ID verify isn’t the persons fault who getting verified. It’s people stealing identities that’s the real pos causing people like many on here having to wait an unnecessary 9+weeks for their refund.

OMG all it was is a letter saying someone accessed my acct online and checking if it was me!! Ofcourse it was me looking for my refund lol!!

The letter I received today was just about the second stimulus. My 21 days is up on Saturday and I’ve seen no movement on WMR beyond 1 bar and no update to transcripts. This is taking forever!

@EricaKane it’s pretty cool, they take pictures of your mail as they scan it and email it to you every morning. It also lets you know when you have a package coming.

@Frustrated ID Verify, is verifying your identity. I’m assuming if anything changes on your tax return year to year, they automatically assume someone stole your identity and you have to prove it was you who filed.

Update: our mail showed up right as I submitted that comment, it’s the infamous form 5071C! ID VERIFY!!!!! This is such bull. It’s the THIRD year we’ve had to do this. Our TA said back in January that everything on our end looks good and we should have no issues this year.

My informed delivery showed us getting one too. We have “no tax return on file” according to transcripts so there’s no telling what it’s about. I’ve heard that they are sending out letters in reference to the stimulus. Our stimulus was based on 2018’s return since 2019 hasn’t been processed yet, but now that it has been, they gave us the difference between the two

Me! But I called a couple days ago and the agent stated they sent one on 2/22 telling me I have a 60 day review… it just showed up on informed delivery this morning.
