Hopefully the review don’t take long! Happened to us 7 years ago and took us until June before they released it and had no reason for holding it so long.

I had this happen to me a few yrs ago. . Here is a link that explains it well; y-tax-return-being-reviewed. Now, my suggestions, if you are in need of your return, get a tax advicate and they will expedite the return and you will not have to wait for the 30 day window, let alone the 180 day window. The advocare will let IRD know you need your money, for example, rent is behond and you need it to acoid eviction.
