Mine says your return has been reviewed. It will be approved within 10 business days. I filed 2/21. I got that message with blue bars on Thursday. 3/6 on the Colorado WMR.

@wade123 Where are you seeing that? I’m only able to check the state’s version of wmr so all I see are the bars. Or this on your tax prep site? If so, I haven’t seen anything like that there.

@ajeansres: Does your state revenue now have a missing state return? This is odd, overnight I updated on Colorado revenue to a message saying I need to file my 2024 return and where my return was there to view/amend it is no longer there. My return has just vanished. But when I check the tracker, it still says is received and being processed.

Yep, they say they mailed mine in 3/5. Nothing in mail today. So aggravating. Hope I update in WMR on Saturday morning. They were waiting to match my w2 up with employer info. IRS said yesterday my return is processed and reflects the w2 but i have a letter coming. She said to disregard it if/when I get refund. -

Finally progressed to the 4th bar with a message stating, “Your refund was issued on 3/5/2020 to the bank account on file. Your refund should be deposited within 3 business days.”
My return was accepted on 01/27/20, so hopefully, you should be seeing progress soon!

@GoFigure i filed both on 2/4 same thing feds said same matching on wages on 2 employers im hoping the same fed im on a bs 45 day hold obe rep told me it starts on 3/9 i called to get an advocate they said i cannot get an advocate b/c it should fix it self by 3/9 and if i dont get my $ by 3/9 to call back so i hope thats light a the end of the tunnel. im not sure what city you are in but down here in walsenburg its rough right now i really need both returns to make ends meet

I would assume after reviewing it and it updating to that on website, it should mean we should see full bars sometime this coming week. Their process is strange and does not make sense to me. -

Still freaking waiting. Filed on 2/7. 2nd bar, but account info when I log in says no return filed which last year meant they were working on it, but no such luck this year. Colorado has got to be one of the worst states for processing taxes!!

UPDATE: Finally progressed to the 3rd bar, “refund reviewed” with a notice saying, “Your refund for filing period 12/31/2019 has been reviewed. It should be approved within the next 10 business days.”
Still not sure if getting DD or Check but at least some progress! :)

I checked today and my state has been approved and sent. It says my refund was sent on 2/26 to the bank account on file. This is the fastest I have ever received it. I’m getting both federal and state on the same date

I did turbo tax and when I would go to the depth of revenue account I had I would get the same it wasn’t filed. That was up to last Thursday right before my future 2/22/2020 check mailed confirmation. Informed delivery has one item without a pic today but I think it’s prob a magazine. So still waiting on my check. -

@JB I think if you spoke to someone they are just reading a script can you access your info at all on the site? Mine didn’t pull up for days but I had the wrong refund amount entered. TurboTax shows the net amount of the refund which was after my donation to domestic violence prevention. I had to look at my actual return and LO and behold it was higher than what I see on the TurboTax dashboard. I thought something was wrong until I figured that out

I think for the last two years my refunds were mailed. Don’t know why but it happens.

Return was filed and accepted on 01/27/20. So far stuck on bar #2, “Return Received & Being Processed.” I got my federal refund via DD on 02/05/20, even with a missing W2 (was only like $100). So hoping will get getting state refund soon! Has been a paper check the last couple years even though I selected DD.

i’m having the same issue as everyone else! I filed a direct deposit on purpose because my lease was up and I knew i’d be moving. They decided to send me a paper check instead and mailed it out on 3/8…it’s 3/21. Has anyone else had their’s mailed out on March 8th and still not received it? I called the Revenue office AND the post office that delivers to my address and no one know’s anything.
I’m SO frustrated, My friend still lives at my old address so I’ve been annoying her daily asking if it’s there. I don’t get how you can file a DD and they just decide if you get that or not, seems less secure to me ugh.

My id verification information was received on Friday the same day I emailed it to them. Today I received an email (letter on its way), I passed the verification and should receive my refund in 4 weeks. My return is now showing on line again. I checked wmr it now say it has been reviewed and will be approved in 10 days.

@Sara Thanks for the information regarding seeing your tax return on the site. I think the paper check thing is stupid too. If I used the same bank account for the last 10 years, how are you preventing fraud?? Sometimes they send me a paper check and sometimes they send it DD, smh.
You are right about them knowing everything. I made that mistake one year and didn’t file the paperwork from withdrawing from my 401k. Two years later they caught it, added penalties,late fees and interest!! So that $300 I wouldv’e owed turned into about $800. My good fried prepares taxes and she said that when you say “The IRS”, put it together (THEIRS) and they will get their money some way and some how.

@Sara to the other Sara, there is zero chance they won’t notice you didn’t file the 8962. I technically didn’t have marketplace at all and I didn’t file and didn’t get my refund for many months last year. CO knows everything. You should have figured that out when they told you they’re directly linked to any money you receive. It’s slightly creepy. But it’s the IRS you should fear because CO won’t process your return until it clears IRS. And yes, my refund was higher last year because of that 8962. It doesn’t matter. A missing form is a missing form, but if you owe them more, they will process at lightning speed.

If you can see your return on their website, they will issue your refund within 48 hours. It will show not received until then. Unfortunately, 90% of the time they issue a paper check “for security reasons”. I almost wish someone would steal every single paper check to prove how stupid that is. And its issued thru Wells Fargo, also my bank, and they put a 1 day hold on it because they couldn’t verify it. Their own check. A few years ago, it took me 3 months to get a $35 refund from them. I paid in over $800 and they considered that measley $35 “earned income credit”. Meanwhile, my childless co-workers got back hundreds and had their money in less than a week.

Filed and accepted on 1/22 I’ve had 2 bars since 1/26 on CO where’s my refund. When I log in to my account it says no return filed action needed, that just happened today. I called and was told it’s an error my return is processing and I should have my refund soon.

Update: yesterday I received a letter in the mail that said take action and that I had to enter a verification code. That was around 3 yesterday afternoon. This morning I have updated to the 3rd bar that says it has been processed and should be issued within the next 10 days! It’s progress so I’m happy.

The paper check has nothing to do with identity fraud or security. It’s because they loose interest with direct deposit. With paper check the money is able to sit in the States bank account much longer drawing interest. With direct deposit the money leaves the bank immediately. I’m beyond pissed I’m bringing my theory to a news outlet

@Sara It’s been like this for the past couple of years. Snail mail is definitely not more secure than direct deposit. Especially where I live. We’ve had our mailboxes broken into twice in the last year, so it’s certainly worrisome. Did it take forever for DoR to even recognise your return? For almost two weeks after filing, it kept saying my return hadn’t been filed or they couldn’t find it. I don’t know what’s going on with them.

@JBinSOCO I’ve called twice. They won’t give me any info until after the 28th. I had marketplace for 1 month and didn’t file the 8962. I’m hoping because it makes them owe me $30 they won’t catch it. Doubt I’m that lucky, but if I don’t have a date this weekend, I will call back and try the honest approach.

Same. I filed 2/2, accepted same day. Sat in not accepted until around the 14th. When I logged in, I could tell it had been received on the 2nd even though the wmr said not received. The day before it finished processing, I had a take action with red exclamation when I logged in and clicked 2017 return. Within a day, it was approved. Today, finally complete, received, was issued 2/23 allow 5-7 days for paper check to arrive. I have no idea why they think mail is more secure than direct deposit. My federal is still stuck in processing without bars.

Mine also updated to refund reviewed. And at the bottom of the page it said my carryover for 12/31/2017 has been approved. Check the bottom of the page in fine print. If it is in the 3rd bar it is approved. I just hope it only takes a day or 2 to send now.

I just looked at my Colorado Revenue online account. For this year’s, it says the amount of my refund which is new. On wmr Colorado, it updated today saying it is in review. Hoping to get my deposit soon!

@Scg2018… That is incorrect. I have both credits and received by deposit about 7:30pm yesterday, 2/12/18. The website stated my refund was sent to account provided on 2/13/18 but my credit union releases a day or two early. My bars stayed at the Reviewing for about a week and yesterday it updated with DDD. So EITC/ACTC are not holding for federal.

Hi guys! I was waiting for my fellow Coloradans to start posting. I can give you my experience from being a native in CO. I have not received DD in 4 years, they always send a check. They are very slow at sending money (60) days in years past. They also asked me to send in an energy bill 2 years ago and basically a spouse paper stating when I was divorced. At the time never been married. It is very frustrating the way co handles returns. I wish you all better luck than I’ve had!

For those who don’t know already, I just read on the Colorado Revenue website that they’re sending paper checks this year to combat fraud. They did say ‘some’, so maybe not everyone will get a check. Here it is verbatim:
“The Department is converting some tax refunds to a paper check that were requested to be delivered by direct deposit. Making this change is intended to prevent criminals from easily divert fraudulently filed refunds to their own accounts. A letter will come with the refund that was converted to paper check. The letter contains a phone number taxpayers can call. The number is just for those taxpayers who have not filed an income tax return yet or who are not expecting a refund — to report the unexpected refund to the Department. I have been checking the revenue online tool and it kept saying my return has no been received yet. So I just called and waited to get someone for about 10 minutes and was told they received my return on the 27th and are waiting on Federal to approve my EIC and then it’ll be released. So for those of you who are waiting on Federal and have EIC credits this is the hold up with state. So I’m assuming that by the 15th everything should start process

On the CO WMR page it doesnt even show my tac return has been accepted. I got an email from turbo tax a week ago saying they accepted it.

Exactly the same here. I have a small return as I did a contract job for 2 months there. but Tax Act said it was accepted 1/30 but the WMR says not received. Makes me wonder if Colorado even uses and updates their own WMR.

@amanda I haven’t heard anything about paper checks. TurboTax says Colorado accepted my return on 01/30, but the CO state WMR shows no info found.

We got an email saying our return was accepted on 2/15, but when I try to check the status it says “return not received or not yet processed”. Seems like it should at least say something by now.

My status has3 bars. But instead of approved it says refund adjusted. Anyone ever had that happen or know what it means?

Filed and accepted 2/4. Went to 2 bars 2/9, then both bars disappeared 2/17, still no bars as of today. I have read this is common for a few days prior to all bars returning with a DDD though, so hopefully that is the case!

@jebub- I spoke with co state on Thursday and they told me they won’t start processing returns till the first week of February, but on Friday morning I woke up to a second bar so I think they have already started. Hopefully they come soon. Can’t say for federal they are taking there sweet time!!!

We filed 2/11We called Monday 3/7 after seeing the refund has been approved message for over 5 days… Turns out they are mailing a check but they didn’t know when it would be mailed out. Taxes refunds are a joke.

I submitted my taxes on 1/28/14 via HRB. It was accepted according to HRB, but nothing on the webpage. Today (2/10/14) I get this:
Your refund has been processed but a refund has not yet issued. Processing of the return may take another 4-6 weeks. You should log into Revenue Online for further information on the status of your return and refund.
:( That really sucks.

It appears that due to a spike in fraudulent returns submitted to State revenue services, some states have been taking added measures to ensure a return is not fraudulent. this is slowing the entire system down, and it also appears that many Colorado returns that were issued electronically (probably HR Block, and software like TurboTax), will be receiving refunds via check instead of via direct deposit as originally requested by the tax payer.
So look out in the mail for yours! I know I submitted my taxes and had them accepted on the 1st of february, by the 2nd of february they had already given some of my return to one of their collections departments, and I still don’t have the remainder of my refund yet! It was awesome how they were able to pay themselves within 3 days, but to then send me what I’m owed, they can’t seem to figure out how to do that over a month later.

Just checked again and the verbiage is still the same with the addition of “but can be delayed longer”. What is going on? This is extremely frustrating . We can be penalized by the government for delays in payment but it unfortunately does not work vice a versa.

I received the exact same message. My return was accepted on 01/27/2014 and I have been looking at that message for two weeks now. I even logged in to Revenue Online to see if I could get more information but it lists the exact same thing. What is going on? I know people that filed a paper return for Colorado and they already received a refund!!
