I wasnt working for a bit this year and got behind on child support. I had notification this would be offset, which is understandable. Will it hold up my refund? Anyone had this happen? I am 05 cycle, was hoping to get refund tomorrow. SBTPG still unfunded. Thanks for your help.

Any update?? Just file and was accepted the first….now waiting on approval how long from when you filed did it take ti recieve the remaining part if your return??

My husband has this happen last year. It only affected refund by about a week longer…maybe less. However….since the state and federal refunds got processed on the same day ironically…each took the child support debt so they got double paid. It took freaking 2 months for child support to send back the overpayment to the government who then had to reprocess the refund and send it back out to us.
That was a sh!t show. Thankfully this year had no owed debts so refund got processed fast.
