Why is it that the IRS is saying PATHERS have to wait until next week to get their ddd when there are PATHERS who have received their money today and some have a ddd for the 22nd??

Let me really let you know what I’m talking about: I called the bank of which my tax preparer uses and believe it or not the rep told me the IRS sent them notification of my tax return was both accepted and approved on the 16th of January.. I had to ask the rep to repeat himself because I could not believe it. This means on the day I filed my return was approved. The only reason why the Irs had not released my funds was because I am a Pather..
And they have been waiting for my funds to be released. Now, from my understanding we were told the IRS wasn’t even accepting returns until the 28th of January. This clearly proves I was either part of the test batch or the IRS just does what they want to do. But no matter what my funds have just been sitting in limbo since the 16th of January… And I still can’t believe it. -

@Dj, that’s very logical explanation. Where did you get your information?

You will probably get your DDD on the 23rd oh, there’s a big update on the 23rd. If you don’t, don’t panic. There is a law in place that requires all returns that are received on or prior to January 28th (opening day) to be processed before Feb 27th.
The IRS is handling any of the returns that have been process so far in a random fashion. Although, all of them will be processed before the 27th, the order in which they are processed does not have an actual order. In previous years it was done on a first-come first-serve basis oh, and you only received a delay for offset and error problems.
During the shutdown you had a lot of temporary workers who are not trained properly on how to follow the order, so many returns were processed out of order, this is why you’re seeing people who filed prior to you and after you get approved while you’re still waiting.
Good Luck!

Standard/generic msg they are giving everyone to keep people from flooding the IRS line asking where their refund is.
I am scheduled to receive mine on 2/22 as well and my message also states do not call until after the 27th if our refunds aren’t deposited by that date. Meanwhile they’re telling everyone else that no one who claimed ACT or EIC will receive a refund until the 27th. I’m happy I’m getting mine don’t get me wrong but I do have family members who aren’t. They’re still waiting for a DDD, The sad thing is, we all filed at the same time on the same day yet myself and my niece were the only ones Approved on 2/16 with a DD of 2/22.
I haven’t been able to figure out why some of us were selected and given a direct deposit date and others weren’t. Either way, they’ll be getting their DD soon. Just after we gets ours.
