570/971 PEOPLE!!! UPDATE HERE!!!!!

Had a offset , they took it out of my refund and now says it is being reviewed. Cycle code 20220705 also. Anyone know what that means?

Not sure if relevant, but my wife changed jobs so there was a spike in our income. Every time I call the IRS hotline, they are so busy I can’t even get in the queue. Anyone else stuck in the same boat as me?

Did those that filed for the recovery rebate, was it included in the refund deposit or deposited separately? Looking on my transcript, it shows a refund amount less the 1800???

As of date oof 4/15 codes 971 and 570. Had to file recovery rebate after second stimulus was returned to irs. Anyone else going through this? Our tax prep guys only response was “I dont know why..” least to say we won’t be using him again. cycle of 20211205. WMR still states processing no bars no tax topic.

I finally got a DDD of 3-17-21

I had codes 570 and 971 with processing date of 3/22/21. Checked my transcript on 3/12/21 had codes updated 571 and 846. Checked WMR this morning.. My bars are back and it shows my ddd..

When I filed my taxes I had not received my 2nd stimulus low and behold the very same day I receive my stimulus is pending in my account later that night.. Needless to say the IRS adjusted my return.. I hope this helps.. Hang in there

I just received the 570 and 971 codes with dates 3/29 next to it. My refund dropped by 1800.00 and it shows my figures and their computer figures are different. I used turbo tax so how can this be? What does this mean? and of coarse on WMF it shows my refund is still processing.

Check your return on line 30. That is your stimulus. Make sure if you received both stimulus checks that line 30 is 0. Tax services are putting in the recovery rebate credit even if you said that you got it already. Saying you are trying to take stimulus twice. Happening to lots of people causing 10 week delays.

Anyone had any updates with codes 570 and 971

I have a 570 and 971 with a date of 3-22-21 on my transcript. I did have my baby in 2020 December so I claimed the credit on my taxes. I’m sure that’s the hold up. No letter received as of yet.

570/971 Date 3-15 I got custody of my kids back in May 2020 so I had to claim the stimulus on my taxes. Is that what is taking so long?

Got a 570/971 code with 3/22/21 date. After 2nd stimulus was 1st sent to an old bank account then sent back to the IRS I was told that I was to claim it on my return, of course I did. Low and behold I was sent a check in the mail after it was being processed. I don’t care that it’s being corrected I’m just concerned on how long it will take to do it.

I got a 570 for 3/8/21. I filed injured spouse with my return electronically on day 1. I also have a 150 set for the same date. I’m wondering if that’s the day the liability gets reviewed or applied. The first year I did injured spouse it took like 11 weeks and I received the full amount. Seems like it was faster in subsequent years. I always received the full amount. This is the first year I’m using my transcript instead of where’s my refund.

I have a code 570 date 3/8/2021 and a code 806 for 4/15/21. Hoping for an update but knowing nothing i do will change it so waiting game. Will update with any changes.

transcripts state 971 and 570 with date of 3/15/21. I sure how I dont have to wait for a letter to be sent out on or after 3/15. seems an awful waste of time.

I have the same issue. 570 & 971 with a date of 3/8 and $0 next to it & a processing date of 3/8. This is my first year ever using transcripts to see what’s going on. No letter yet.. But I made a really dumb $100 mistake in Their favor, so I’m going to try and call to see if there’s anything I can do.but I’m thinking we might be waiting awhile. At LEAST another week to get any kind of update. 😒

I mailed my 2019 forms on April 20, 2020. I just received several letters today requesting more information regarding my foster kids. For schedule EIC on line 14! The children are my grandchildren and foster children! So both titles qualify me for EIC so what is it that they want? DNA?

I filed 2018 (paper) and 2019 (Efile) together in the beginning of April. 2019 was accepted, but no refund. I waited forever and finally got a letter in the mail end of July (dated 05-18) stating that I needed to file my 2018 return. So I filled out the form and faxed and mailed another copy to them. Still nothing almost 2 months later.

I filed January 29 and got accepted the same day! Then on March 9 I got a notice so I have code 570 and 971 not I check I have a update with code 290

I contacted my congressman and they pushed my records to a tax advocate, was told that the IRS is closed and that they are not processing paperwork. So if you were notified by mail to send in any corrections they are sitting unopen until the IRS goes back to the offices and starts opening mail.

My congressman said once they start processing Mail again then to email him back and they will send it back to the tax advocate for urgent processing. This was yesterday 5/13/20

I filed 02/21/20 but Code 150 – states file 04/20/20. I verified (can’t remember date, had t be early April)

Finally got ahold of the tax advocate line for Chicago! The machine wasn’t working the past few weeks. Hopefully they actually call back within 3 days!!!! Anyone have any advice on speaking with an advocate?

See this info I found today. Doesn’t sound like anyone doing a paper return will get their refund any time soon. I filed 1/27/20, received a letter on 3/30/20 saying a small change to my return and I would receive refund in 4-6 weeks. Still nothing but 6 weeks not up. Has anyone filed an amended return and about how long did it take to process??? I mailed it certified mail like 4 weeks ago and still haven’t recieved anything or when I log into check it doesnt say the recieved it. I have a tax advocate but she never returns my calls.
I had to fill out an amendment cause one of my kids social security numbers were entered wrong. So I already submitted the proof they asked me for so it should be solved fairly quickly right.

(Filed 2/14, got 570 on 3/23 and 971 CP05 letter sent 3/30 so wasn’t expecting to get it until at least end of May, if not in the fall.)

Yeah I read that as long as they don’t run in to any issues with your refund most 60 day notice people will get there refund the week after the 60 days is up… I still got two weeks tell I will see mine

Ridiculous this going on with IRS. Filed taxes 2/3/2020. I got 570 and 971. Nothing has updated holding for 2016 return. Sent return via certified mail they received 3/4/2020. No updates have a 766 and 971 as of 4/15. Need advocate and can’t even get one. Some one please help!

I read an article that said they are putting processing taxes on the back burner until the stimulus checks get figured out. I’m waiting on mine still. My 60 days was up this last week. The only thing that changed on mine was the as of date. I honestly don’t expect to get it for a couple more months.

Has anyone not been able to contact the tax advocate number? I’ve called both for Illinois and it hangs up before you can leave a message. If I press 0 for help it also hangs up. I filed 1/17 accepted 1/28. ID verified 2/18 and TUESDAY was 9 weeks.

I cal the irs last year about this the lady told me in May of this year i will get it….. My question is so how will i know when then sent it to me…… I dont see it on my Transcript.

@ashtondimmick, Mine didnt have bars but said “your return is still being processed” Tax Topic 152. It never changed until the tax advocate.got the IRS to release it. My as of date kept changing from March 9th to March 16th to April 13th to April 27th and Finally May 6th and it was deposited today. From what people are saying its better to see the words “its being proceesed” rather than “its still being processed”

Nevermind. My bars came back and confirmed what the tax advocate said. I have a DDD of April 17th! I guess the site was down earlier. Im not sure why you would be just getting a letter. If you have bars now, what does it say? I know pretty much everyone that got a letter had their bars disappear like me. Mine just came back and they disappeared around Feb 15th I think.

Anyone used the wheres my refund tool today? I got my 846 and the tax advocate says its gonna be deposited Friday but when I use wheres my refund it says my info is wrong. Maybe its because I used a tax advocate.

Are they even sending out letters still? If they put a hold on it (570) code why wait 2 weeks before sending me a letter? Shouldnt it go out immediately?

I got a call from a tax advocate (after emailing my Congressman) and they needed an amended return. They couldn’t tell me that two weeks ago? I sent it out yesterday Priority Mail. The advocate told me the dept doing amended returns isn’t working now, so she doesn’t know how the IRS plans to handle it. I’m so frustrated!

570 means a hold and 971 means you are going to receive a letter on April 27th. Then it may be 60 days from then. I got my letter on March 16th. I got a tax advocate and had to send in letters from my employers proving my wages. They just released it today! Apparently they are holding most refunds with EIC or child tax credits. I always get mine back in February! This has been ridiculous! Good luck on yours!

Anyone with an 898 – refund applied to non-IRS debt? I had my refund repo’d for a default student loan (currently fighting), fine, but now I have a 290 code for $0 with 4/27 as a date? what does this mean?

There is also a code 290 before my 846 code. It says tax assessed 0.00. It says May 4th.

My as of date went from 3/9 to 4/20 and then a day later it went back to 3/9. This is ridiculous. This is my first time experiencing this and i did my taxes the same as last year.

I have not gotten a notice yet. And my transcript hasn’t updated at all, aside from “as of date” going to 4/27. Tried calling IRS, but no live assistance available. I am at my wits end, dealt with this last year too (didn’t get our refund last year until August) and nothing has changed from last year to this year.

Got accepted Feb 4th. Then bars disappeared and got 570 then eventually 971. Got my cp05 letter March 18th that said do nothing. IRS said they were verifying my wages and just wait. I got a tax advocate 3 weeks ago. I had to get letters from both employers proving income and employment. The tax advocate called yesterday and said I should know something next week. My as of date changed this week to April 13th so I am hoping for an update this weekend!

Has anyone here NOT received a letter or an update on their transcripts saying they’re receiving a letter? I filed 2/10, accepted 2/10, my 570 code has a date of 3/16, has never updated to say I’ve been sent a letter. Just same thing every day – code 570. I don’t know what to do. I called the IRS 3 weeks ago and the lady said she had no idea why I have the code, assuming it’s a 60 day review and there was nothing more she could do.

Our letter is dated 3/16. We haven’t updated for 6 weeks since we got the 971 code. Our CP05 says to do nothing as well.

I finally received my CP05 letter today (dated 3/30) stating I didn’t need to do anything but under 60 day review.

Got Letter on 4/4- Notice Sent was supposed to be 4/6…. Letter said to do nothing.

How long will I have to wait to get 846? I see people don’t have to wait the full 60 days for review.

So is this going to affect the stimulus payment also I wonder? Got laid off and still no unemployment. I don’t have people I can ask for help. Sorry not trying to complain here. Not eating for a few days makes me cranky apparently. Lol. Hope it works out for everyone.

Additional action pending and notice sent. But next to notice sent it has April 13th. So they haven’t sent a notice yet? This is ridiculous. Especially with what’s going on. You think they wouldn’t hold people’s money.

Done with TT. Everyone I know that used TT is getting reviewed. I need money so badly right now. This is beyond frustrating.

According to TT, lots of us are being reviewed over the health insurance issue. After you verify you had it, you have to wait again. I’ll never use them again.

We filed 2/14 and it was accepted but not yet approved for about 2 weeks. Then the bar disappeared and we got the same “still processing, a refund date will be provided when available” message. Checked the transcript a few days ago and 806/766 say refund date is 4/15 but our previous years say that, too, and we got them way earlier.

971 on 3/30 (has said that for a few days).
So now we wait to see if they mail us a letter tomorrow saying why we are on hold.

I have a 971 code with date 4/6 on it, which was added on Friday the 20th. Yet my “as of” is still the 16th and date next to my cycle code is still 3/30. It’ll be almost TWO MONTHS before I even get a letter? WTH

The IRS is still processing and issuing returns. They are not taking phone calls though.

Just looked at the IRS web site they have closed all there taxpayer assistance centers and everything..

So I’m taking it this means is that are under review will probably have to wait longer..

I have this EXACT thing. Same codes, same dates. I’ve been searching but not sure how to figure what all of it means.

So I called the IRS yesterday I was literally on hold for a rep for an hour and half. But I asked her why I still haven’t recieved my refund and it’s been a long while with 570 code. Well I asked for a tax advocate and she had asked me my reasoning. She was able to get the paper work started and someone is gonna call me in 5 days. So how long after getting a tax advocate can my refund be approved??

I was told I was under review I spoke with the IRS 4 times. They were very pleasant, I was told a letter was mailed that I never received. I contacted a tax advocate last week and received a 846 code on my transcript today for 3/25. Hang in there guys, stay on them though.

I just updated!!!! Ddd march 25th!!! Was on 570 code for weeks….filed jan 27th….filed injured spouse and taxes for 2018 amd 2017…….my 2019 and 2018 updated to ddd just now with beautiful 846 code!!!!! Hipe this gives some people hope! Its been 7 1/2 weeks on an injured spouse claim and i had a little offset from the military bit it wasnt much. Best of luck everyone

We both received a CP05 that says that they are holding our refund until they finish reviewing our tax return. It’s bull.

Got my letter bout my transcripts with the 571 code dated with 03/16/20 how long will it take for the 846 code to show up?

Hubby @ I both got a Cp05 letter today. We efiled was accepted 1/30. WMR has stayed on “processing” topic 152. What I don’t understand I called this morning cause nothing has changed. The IRS rep informs me I was getting a letter for review. What doesn’t make sense is I’ve been filing the exact same way for over 5yrs. Now why this nonsense??

My husband’s and I both got a CP05 today startng that our taxes are under review.

I submitted my taxes on Feb 14.
Logged onto where’s my refund to check the status and within 2 weeks the bar disappeared and I get a message saying my refund has been received, and is still processing.

Called the IRS today and was told that I should be receiving a letter by March 30. And that it could be held for another 60 days. Geez. Just wondering if anyone has any updates on their returns.

Last year I might not have been surprised since I worked two jobs and finished my degree while filing jointly and with a child. But this year…one job, one w2. I’ve been using turbo tax for years and it’s only this year it’s taken this long. Any insight would be helpful

I received the notice on Monday which just states my return is still under review…. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your cycle number ends in 05 then they update your status once a week and that’s usually on Saturdays! But if you cycle number is any other number 1-4 then its updated daily after 630am. I know its confusing and frustrating but I read an article today that there is literally more people taxes on hold this year then ever.

Well this is soooooo annoying….
I got a letter on 3/2/20 saying code 570 and a 60 day review for income verification and tax withholding. I had called the IRS they said not to call back till my 60 days which is april 27th.
Today I requested my transcripts online and saw the code 570 with date 3/23/2020 is this when my 60 day starts? I’m so confused and I have a cycle number of 20201005 what does that mean. I’m anxiously awaiting my money. I’m a mother of 4 and struggling.

Just got of the phone with the IRS, I have the exact codes and cycle of 20200805 was told they will be mailing out a letter on the 16 and that they are not needing any info from me as of now. Oh and my 60 days of being under review will begin when they mail out the letter bummer but nothing for me to do but wait

I had a 971 code with an issue date of 3/16. I haven’t received a notice, but this past Saturday my transcripts uploaded with a 571 and 846 with a pending deposit for tomorrow 3/11. I’ll update tomorrow if my funds are available.

No update yet! Since tomorrow is the 9th maybe I’ll have an update?? What’s the IRS number? The number I called the other day.. I couldn’t ever get a hold of a person.

Fyi everyone that has the 570, 971 code and it hasnt been resolved yet. If you called and they told you that everything’s fine that they dont need anything right now and that its on a 60 day review and youll be receiving a letter. It doesnt mean its going to take 60 days, its just the amount of time they give themselves to resolve it. It could be much less time.

Called IRS last week told was under review but nothing was wrong and I will receive notice.

My transcript cycle code 20200605. I also have a 570 with processing date of 2/24/2020. I received a 60 day review letter dates 2/13/2020. As of today still no updat no nothing. Has anyone ever had this happen and how long should this process take. Called the IRS yesterday and the guy was so nice stated my wages reported on my W2 didn’t match what IRS had. What should I do. He also put a referral for me a TA.

So I just spoke to an IRS rep trying to get some info on my 570 code that says 3/2 beside it. Can’t give me any info. All she could say is that my review started on 2/19 which is when my letter 4464c was issued and after 60 days from that, I can contact them again. Total crap. I used Turbo tax. I see that a lot of people used them that are having trouble. I will not use them again. My cycle code is 20200705 and my 570 is 3/2. Super frustrating.

I spoke to someone this morning at the IRS and he says they will not put a freeze on a refund for opening a online acct with them. The person I spoke to was very nasty

I have the 570 and 971 notice issued 3/9/20, but I have not received any notices yet from IRS. I am hoping that the freeze is due to income matching, and the 971 is for logging in to the IRS portal. However, very frustrated that it did no update this morning. And, I guess I am weekly also since my cycle code is 20200705. Hopefully we all get some good news this week!

@quita1987 if your cycle number ends in 05 you are reviewed weekly on Thursday. So after Thursday you may know more. 570 is a code to freeze things on your account. If you had to amend they might be waiting on income verification meaning you filed before your employer sent your income (they don’t have to legally until 1/31)
my cycle # is 05 too so we have to wait until Thursday for an update.

Update finally got my 846.

570 code was due to a credit we did not qualify for without documenation

971 code they sent us a letter to let us know what steps to take to get the credit.

Call the tax advocate hotline they will tell you EXACTLY what the 570 code is for.

A 570 is not necessarily a “review” as people are saying. It’s a freeze for something they are waiting on. Mine is a hold til my w2 matches with employer info (I believe I filed before employer info was entered)..so got resequenced. It’ll be a review if things don’t match up by April 15

I received a letter after opening an account about two weeks ago, then I checked my transcript and had a 971 code with “notice issued “but I do not know if the two are related, all I know is I only had the 570 “additional account action “ when I first viewed them. The 971 wasn’t there. The date next to it is 3/9/20.

Val I got a letter for opening an online account also but I never had the 971 code in my transcript. I had the 570 then went to being issued a week later.

I just checked my mail and I received a notice from the IRS about opening an online acct. The letter is dated 2/28. I’m not sure if this is in regards to the code 971 that’s on my transcripts and has been for over a week. I’m hoping this will clear things up but I havent gotten any updates on wmr or my transcripts

Did it say notice issues beside 971 yesterday when you checked? I called IRS until someone could give me accrual intelligent info! I had a rep read me my actual letter after a previous employee told me I didn’t have one.

@Becky, I have the same accepted date and update as you. My taxes were filed on turbo tax and were the same as previous years Except that we filed for an educational credit for tuition for our Son. Its only a mere $350 credit. If we have to through this for a small credit, then we wont file it next year. RIDICULOUS!

I kept calling until I got a straight answer! Was told it is either because of income, tax credit, business credit, or income with holdings. That’s it. Said I should receive notice by 3/16, call back 60 days after that.

I was worried because I didn’t get the 971 code for a letter being issued like others did. So I was left with no information. But my transcript updated last night and I had no 971 code. I guess the 971 code was for if they found something and issued a letter? I wish you all the best

I had 570 on my transcript with date 3/09/20 as of this morning I have a 971 with date 3/16/20. I called and spoke with a lady and she told me that on there end there is no record of a letter sent out or going to be sent out and she did not know why there was a 971 on there. Told me to wait till the date posted on transcript to call back and to just keep checking WMR.

570/971 code…I am a pather btw..called a number and spoke to a very nice lady who tells me my employer hasn’t submitted my income yet….will get a letter…could take 45-60 days…honestly seems like a generic answer…idk…we shall see.

Same problem. 971 code today on transcripts when I looked. IRS has no answers. Wish I knew what was going on. Filed through TurboTax.

Ayla!!! I read your post and was all nervous because I had the 570 hold code but not 971 code for a letter being issued. But after I read your comment I looked at my transcript and I got the 846 code for issued too! Good luck everyone I thought the 570 code would be an issue because I never got it previously any year. My transcripts updated with a 971 dated 03-16-20 but still shows a processing date is 03-09-2020 my return was accepted on 01-28-2020. I’m so anxious and aggravated, Anyone update with something other than 971?.

Called IRS Monday and was told I was selected for a random 45 day review that started 2/20 and that I would receive a letter if they needed more info. Have not received a letter. Signed up to access online transcripts earlier this evening and had 570 3/9/20. Transcripts updated about 15 minutes ago with 971 3/16/20. Idk what’s going on, but I’m hoping they’re just behind and o receive dd or ddd soon.

Oh and by the way that date by 570 means nothing to the irs they may have posted that 570 2weeks before that date call the irs ask for a 911 but 1st get to the root of the problem than don’t stop until you are satisfied. Call congress call ta call irs bug the hell out of them . I will update with more.

570 code is related to different situations. Wages child credits and so much more. I got code 570 due to social security administration has 1 w2 on file. I faxed all my w2 to social security and called congress faxed them my paper work you can be your own tax advocate be persistent polite and research

I got hit with a 570 and 971 code. finally able to talk to someone and it was a freeze due to not filing 2014 taxes (oops). so i pulled transcripts from online, and completed them, of course they have to be mailed as they no longer except efile then, but i expect that when my new processing date hits of 03/09/20 that they will at-least be able to see the return. then we shall see. I estimate no earlier then 03/27 refund on 2019 taxes

Just was told this morning 570 is a review and I have to wait 60 days and that the IRS sent out a letter stating that there is nothing I can do but wait which the letter I have not received yet. The processing date beside the 570 code is when they start reviewing I guess

I was told by someone at the IRS last night that the code 971 is a notice issued and the date you see will be the date that the notice will go out. I was also told that the 570 is a freeze for review and it could take 45-60 after the date of notice to receive anything. I’m so frustrated with this

Called the offset number I have nothing on my account, contacted IRS and they just told me to wait it our with no direction of what it could be.

I have 570 code and no code after that but the 570 code says processing date of March 2, 2020 ..anybody got an update from 570 code yet? And I cannot get in touch with IRS at all.. My transcripts code are 150,806,766, 768, and of course last 570.

Noting new, why….why me… how does this happen? Also this is the reason I don’t play the lottery.

I have the TC 570 on my transcripts as well. Hoping it resolves itself. Got the notice dated 2/14 and received my letter early this week. I dont have TC 971 on my transcript. I have read alot of comments from others that have dealt with this year or last year and its mixed reviews. On the WMR forums alot of people are stating their 570 code resolved itself. Hopefully that will be the same for all of is. I’m claiming it. I will keep you guys updated!

I’m on a 45-day review also I filed 1/31 around 5 ish in the afternoon and got accepted then went straight into review as of 2-1. They told me that no letters been sent out but I’m in review for income verification the system randomly pick me but I’m self-employed so how they are going to do that I don’t know and told me that I should get my refund or know something by the middle of March

Called IRS today and was told a letter was sent out 2/13 for ID verification. I’ve yet to receive the letter so hopefully tomorrow.

I haven’t filed taxes since 2015 tax season so I guess that’s why I’m being told to verify?? 🤷🏽‍♀️

@MisBowling I got everything you have exactly all same numbers I got me a advocate on Wednesday IRS already sees the hardship on their end told me to give it a week or two 😔

After getting my refund last year in aug I was really nervous I had a 570 then it went to 424 then months went by so be hopeful. Get an advocate sooner rather then later after your 60 days I say 60 bcuz they always give u the generic message . Contact your local office to get an advocate

I have the 570 code on 2019 and 971 code on 2018 transcript with 03/02/2020 next to it.. I have received five 4464c letters all dates the same day.. I don’t know what’s going on

So last year same thing happened to me ..code 570 then the following week 971 .. Had to get an advocate to help with wage and id verification.. Didnt get refund untill 3/22
So this year i filed on 3/2/20.. Didnt update till last night with the same damn code .570 additional account pending. 150, and 768 .. Cycle code changed to 20200805 as of date changed to 3/9 …i didnt get 971 notice issued but im guessing by next week .. Then i will gwt an advocate

I have both codes and nothing has changed for the last 12 years. Same job same dependants. I’m not understanding what is going on. I have contact a tax advocate but no call back as of yet. Anyone know what to do to make them move fast.

I only have the code 570 and I can’t figure out in what direction it will go 😩
