I NEVER RECEIVED THE LETTER THAT THEY CLAIMED THEY MAILED ME STATING THEY NEEDED FURTHER INFORMATION. I HAVE SEEN POSTS ON HERE AS TO WHAT I WILL NEED. BUT I DON’T HAVE A COVER SHEET. AM I BETTER OFF REFILING AN AMENDED RETURN?

What pops up when you go to check your refund?
My suggestion to you would be to call the Tax Payer Protection Program. Tell the rep you were told to call them after speaking to a rep at that IRS number where no one really helps you.
These people will look at your return and tell you if it’s an ID Verify you need to do or if it is something else. This is what they did for me. I did actually speak to a rep and was told to call this number and they were extremely helpful.
