Another interesting information for refund:
Anonymousfiled and accepted jan 30. hope this helps youll
Anonymouscalled was told amount of injured spouse refund but wasnt givin ddd.
IRS gave me refund amount over phone. wmr site never updated. agent said should receive refund in 3-4 weeks. called back was told still processing gave me amount and said 11 weeks would be april 14 . and i should get my refund on the week of april 14 .
AnonymousThanks for all the information on what WMR might say. I’ll just keep watching it to see if it ever changes.
AnonymousNeither of us we make too much money but my husband makes more that me so he is listed first
AnonymousLast year I filed as Head of Household and we got a good amount of money back. I also payed more taxes too.
Anonymous@pamela79 Well so far I have been filing as Head of Household. My husband has been in and out of jobs so I have been paying for all the living expenses. Are you head or your husband?
AnonymousThat’s funny we just changed ours to 14 deductions we have 4 kids plus we over paid I’ve $2000 last year it would have been a nice refund but they kept pretty much all of it even the child tax credits
AnonymousI will wait will you too! I am waiting for my refund. My husband has his refund offset. So we filed injured spouse with our return on 2/16. I know that it takes at least 8 weeks, but the waiting is hard. Last year It didn’t take so long, only 6 weeks. This time it seems like an eternity. I called the IRS and the first time was okay, but the second time the person was really rude. I am waiting for the transcripts now. We may just file separately after this… Not cool. I am, however, taking out the maximum deductions now out of my paycheck. I rather owe the IRS than wait for them to return my money. I mean thousands they owe me…
AnonymousStill no DD but I’m guessing since I have a TA it will be a paper check I’m upset that they took all the child tax credits and put it to my husbands debt I’m not going to waste my time filing injured Spode next year for the small amount we are getting back its not even enough to pay my cell bill lol hopefully the rest of you will get better news :)
good news for you and some hope for the rest of us thanks for the info @kris7
AnonymousI called the number and extension I posted after I got of work yesterday. 45 minute wait. The man helping me was very nice but I think he was new because he kept asking someone,” Is that right?” or “Where do I get that information?” . He was not in the injured spouse department but was able to see that they had my form and said it looks like it is in the final stages. So I guess this isn’t an injured spouse specific number. Sorry about that! He also said most injured spouse forms are taking about 8 weeks this year. Oh! I also looked at WMR today and it had changed BACK to the message from before(Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available) and the number and extension from yesterday are gone now.
AnonymousThe offset line have me the amount applied maybe try calling if they get there’s you should get yours soon?
AnonymousIsn’t the IRS great? It took me at least a week to get the real number I will see if I can find a different one
AnonymousBtw I have a TA once you get one they are the only ones you can talk to and it takes weeks for them to return calls I got mine about 2 weeks ago then I got a call last week to let me know they will call me on April 11th so if you can avoid getting one at this point I would its great to get one in the beginning when you file I saw people with a TA get their refunds in about 5 weeks did anyone try the number Kris posted and get thru? Make sure you ignore the promos if you are calling most numbers that is the only way to talk to a live person
AnonymousThat is the practicioner priority line. It is only for those holding a CAF number or POA.
AnonymousIf you wanted to get transcript information you can cal(866) 860-4259 they should be able to pull up your info to go thru it with you- i have not called this number it was given to me by someone elsel
AnonymousI don’t have the ability to talk to anyone there one I give them my social security number they won’t give me any information I have called the IRS about 10 times so I went thru my call log on my cell service and tried to post the number I thought it was
AnonymousI called the 1040 number to ask about the cycle date thing on my transcripts it didn’t have anything to do with my return I called the innocent spouse line on accident they gave me the injured spouse line # they said it was the 829-0922
@pamela79 thats not just for injured spouses its for everyone but I thought you said you called and talked to someone today? About the cycle dates? Nt saying youre fibbing but maybe it was the 8003043107 # and they just recently started putting the option for injured spouses to call the IRS at the 1040 # because they wanted us to stop calling them at the offset number.
AnonymousYea that was the number but call the one kris posted I remember the ext thing now I haven’t called since February
AnonymousYes kris is right I remember having to hit the ext
Thanks @kris7 hope you get good news :-)
AnonymousMy WMR status changed from the processed message, to the received message then today to: We are unable to give you information on your refund. Please wait 4 weeks until after filing to call for information about your refund. I filed the 25th of Feb electronically with the Injured Spouse attached. It then said, ” If you would like additional information about your refund please call 1-800-829-0582 and ask for extension 362. Not sure if this is helpful! I can’t call until after work but will let you know what I find out after that if the information is helpful
AnonymousI thought you had a number to reach the injured spouse department…???
AnonymousI just called it, I don’t know what you mean by refund line? I thought people wanted the number to check the status of their refund?
Didn’t work for me either? Should we choose option 1 instead of option 2?
AnonymousThat seems to just be the refund line?
AnonymousOk the number is 800-829-0922
So I called and one of the options said f you are calling about an injured spouse claim press 2, so I did, and then it said dept of treasury cannot answer questions concerning inj spouse claims and to call IRS at 18008291040.., which is the number I’ve been calling.. :( bummer…do you have another number @pamela79?
Yes it would be nice! At least we all have each other, or we would never find out anything! So the number you gave is also the number to find out if you have an offset, so it makes sense that we would be able to call them to see what f any progress is being made i think?. I’m going to try it! I’ll report back what I find out.. Thanks @pamela79 :-)
Anonymous@whatthebleep wouldn’t it be nice if they trained everyone together ang gave them all the same info? Lol I think the number is 800-304-3107 but I wrote it down I will find where I wrote it and update it if its wrong I got the number when I called the 1040 number one time and they said because it was injured spouse one it leaves their department they can’t see updates on it I will go try to find it quick if someone calls before I find it just let everyone know if that’s right ty
AnonymousI would love to call the IS line if you have it? Thank you!!!
@pamela79 would you mind sharing the injured spouse phone number you are referring to with all of us please?
Thanks @pamela79..thats weird, I actually just got off the phone with an IRS supervisor and he said that the information that was Taken from the IRS website, that I referred to above, was correct, but that these dates are for IRS use only. He also said that direct deposits are cycling a little slower than mailed returns this year as well, but he couldn’t explain why? Thanks for the info though, I’m sure they have lots of stories circulating out there! :-) good luck!
Anonymous@mamatiger4 have you been calling the injured spouse line or just the regular # I learned they don’t know anything at that number but when I called the injured spouse line they knew everything in order to get a hardship to get a TA you have to have a bill with shut off notice or eviction or foreclosure notice unless you need to have something else done at the hospital and they won’t see you until it’s paid
@whatthebleep I just called and they said it is from the date of the new tax season they said it counts from January 1st I gave them my cycle date and he told me that it means they received my return on February 4th I explained what you said and he told me someone gave you the wrong info hopefully that will help with your return?@Moneybound13 people have been seeing this change in WMR a few days before DD
AnonymousMy status changed from the good old “your return is still being processed, a refund date has not been determined” or whatever, to “We have received your tax return and it is being processed.”
Does that seem like it is back tracking? That was what the first update I got said when I filed and return accepted 2/2… then it said the still being processed and now the latest received/processing.
anyone else experience this?April 2, 2013 at 11:17 am in reply to: IRS LTR 4883C, Potential Identify Theft in Original Processing #17889Anonymousi just did it and in the website after i completed it said i will processed so i dont know when to check. should i check it tomorrow.
AnonymousTIPS FOR TAX SEASON:
• Select someone trustworthy to prepare your tax return and only file paper returns.
• File taxes early in the tax season to reduce the window of time a thief could file using your SSN.
• When/IF filing electronically, only submit forms through a secure internet connection.
• When filing by mail, go to the post office directly to mail the envelope.
• The IRS will never communicate with you via email or phone. Do not respond to any email message that looks like it is from the IRS.
• Never give out your personal information over the phone to anyone claiming to be from the IRS.
• Keep your computer’s spyware and firewall up to date.We hope your 2013 tax returns come out favorably for you. Stay vigilant! You should initiate contact with the IRS by going to their website and calling the phone numbers listed on their website. Do not take calls from someone claiming to be from the IRS.
http://www.keepmyid.org/blog/@mamatiger4 I wonder if they would consider your hospital bill as a hardship? Maybe you could talk to a tax advocate and let them know about the unexplained delays. They should at least give you some more info besides the call next week bull they have been feeding you, especially since you’ve been waiting this long.
@pamela79 I’m sorry your 20130602 translates to march 11 not feb 11 I was looking at the wrong month when I started counting
AnonymousI am sooo frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Here is what I know…
1/26 IRS accepted return, injured spouse (all income mine, debt spouses), and Education credits.
2/21 finally processed return
3/11 Called, told to wait until 6 weeks from 1/26
3/21 Called, told to wait 8 weeks from 1/26
3/28 Called, told to wait until after 4/2 to call
4/2 Called, told no info until after 5/9Any suggestions at this point? I have a huge medical expense that I need to pay out of pocket and waiting until Mid-May will cause an issue for my family.
Thanks!06 is 6 weeks from the start of tax season, jan 30th. I made a comment to @atozmom about the WMR change you are referring to hope that helps.
AnonymousOk so they don’t count the first week of the year? My transcripts show that date the IRS told me they received my return 2/4/2014 ? Why is 06 feb 11th? Any way my question was about why my status changed I just saw a lot of people talking about if there cycle date incorrectly looking for answers
Sorry @pamela79 someone gave you bad info on cycle dates..here’s some more info to help you better understand..also your date 20130602 translates to feb 11, 2013. The 02 isn’t the 2nd day of the week it is Monday just like 01 isn’t the first day of the week it means friday. Hope this clears things up for you :) and thank you for sharing about your status!
3.30.123.4.9 (01-01-2013)
IMF Daily ProcessingIMF processing will be daily except on weekends. Some transactions post to IMF on a daily basis as opposed to during the weekly cycle.
Note:
In January 2012 with CADE 2 Transition State 1 implementation, IMF began processing and posting all Individual Taxpayer submissions and transactions and remain the system of record.
IMF Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:
01 = Friday
02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = Thursday
This date is the equivalent of the Cycle Date in IDRS and reflects the date the transaction is posted by IMF. See Exhibit 3.30.123-2, Enterprise Computing Center-MTB Posting Cycle Calendar.
Example:
IMF daily transactions directed to daily accounts input in the campus on Monday, August 12, 2013 will have a posting cycle of 20133302.http://www.irs.gov/irm/part3/irm_03-030-123r.html
AnonymousBtw your cycle date is the date the IRS accepted your return I filled mine on turbo tax 1/30 within 2 hours I got an email that it was accepted however the IRS didn’t put it in their system unt 2/4 and they didn’t accept returns until 1/30 so even if you filed 1/15 trey didn’t get it until 1/30 so back to what I was saying my cycle date is 20130602 that means they received my taxes on the 6th week of the year on the 2nd day of the week 2013 it has nothing to do with when it will be processed also you should have a process date of April 15 2013 because that is when the tax season closes though you could still wait till may or June to see your money I don’t mean to burst bubbles but be prepared just in case ;)
AnonymousI filed injured spouse my status changed Friday it dropped a refund date will be provided when available not it just says its been received and is being processed does that mean there is a problem?
Thank you @wkc7877 that is really helpful I haven’t heard of anyone receiving a letter like that. Awesome news thanks again!
AnonymousI just thought I would let others know our experience. We filed our taxes electronically and they were accepted February 2nd. When we found that the return was being held for another debt, my husband filed an injured spouse form and it was mailed around the 13th of February. We received our check in the mail today (April 1, 2013) for the full amount of our refund. This morning, WMR still said that our return was being processed. We never received a date on WMR, but we did receive letters from the IRS in the mail at the end of last week that said we would be receiving the full amount of our return sometime in the next few weeks.
Hope this information helps someone.
Hi @atozmom what I’ve been hearing is that the part on WMR that says ,” a refund date will be provided when available” that is in italics, disappears a few days before DD but some don’t see any changes..so it’s hard to tell, hope that helps :) good luck!
AnonymousI’ve been lurking for weeks and I finally got a ddd scheduled for 4/3 and no later than 4/8. My return was accepted 1/28, I received transcripts a week ago. I hope everyone gets theirs soon as well.
AnonymousI’m here to wait it out too. Accepted 02/28. WMR updated to “take action” on 03/05 and then changed to tell me about the offset on 03/07. Mailed IS form on 03/11. My question is, will WMR actually change again when they process my form so I’ll be able to tell something has been done? This is our first year filing IS. Thanks for any information!
Thanks for what you do, keeping sanity amongst the masses and all, glad your kids ok too, with all that mess at UCF. Now..Go get some rest!
Thanks whatthebleep! I worked hard to get all the latest site glitches fixed. Thanks for your support and patience! Only skipped 1 night of sleep this week so far, thanks for the coffee :)
I’m glad our forum is back :) I donated $5 to see if I could bribe somebody into fixing it :) just kidding.. but I did donate $5 because I know they needed some coffee , personal life+ running a website for angry IRS victims= lots of coffee :) so anybody get any news on their refunds yet? I’m crossing my fingers!
brokenglassesI filed on 01/31/2013, still nothing. Boo!

Anonymousnope
AnonymousI cannot view responses =(
$bound13I’ll wait! Mine was accepted 2/2 and still says processing. Got transcripts 2 weeks ago that had a date of 4/15 so we’ll see!
I filled IS also on 2/1 every time i called irs which was once a week i was told to wait my 11 weeks to call back finally today i called again and a very nice rep told me that my return was accepted on 2/1 and my IS form started processing as of 2/7 so almost 7 weeks this week, he also told me that it usually takes only 8 weeks to process so they should be done this week or next week after the IS form was done i should be put back to the DDD processing system which should take less than 10 days, total time frame before i get my refund would be about 2-3 weeks from now, i was so happy to hear that considering 2nd time i called i was also told i wouldn’t be done till lastweek of april…hope this help you out and good luck
sands21No luck yet
BethanyI am in the same boat! We filed electronically on Feb. 17th & it was a accepted on the same day. When I check WMF, there is no status bar & all it has said for 3 weeks is that it is being processed. I have never waited this long before & I am so frustrated, the stress is overwhelming. We are at a point financially where we don’t know what we are going to do. Can somebody who are having the same issues & has actually received an answer please tell me what in the world is going on? I’m at the end of my rope! Thank you!
kariI am still waiting as well. A little frustrated!
MizuSeireiMy husband and I filed injured spouse, but it was in error. He thought that because he was my spouse and that he is a disabled veteran (injured) that he was supposed to file that form. This was our first year filing on our own and we paper filed. It’s crazy because now we are waiting 11+ weeks and we really shouldn’t have to. I have asked many tax experts and they cant help. This is a burden.
