Yes I got a letter saying I had to verify my identity!! It said to do it online or to call. But I already did it only 2 weeks prior to them sending this damn letter!! I’m so over it! I know they are supposed to give us some type of extra money for waiting so long but I’m still not happy! I have bills to pay! I called the irs on June 3rd the lady told me I had to vertió my identity, luckily I already had a account so I was able to do it while I was the phone with her, now I have to wait up to 9 weeks and check back the WMR in 2 weeks for an update. by the way my return was excepted on 2/24 😒 and here I am WAITING! I called Thursday and was told my refund was in the IVO department and it would take 45 days from May 17th to get a DDD.

That was a lie! I have updated with a DDD and my refund is more than I was expecting because of my new baby. My GMP updated before my WMR with a date of check being mailed May 14th.

One more thing the IRS representative guy who answered the 7th time I called told me everyday they have morning meeting cuz Some thing change on daily. Something about letters were going out then they weren’t something with weather people being displaced and mail not working right. I was transferred to Taxpayer Protection program agent. I think IRS reps who lied said no letter and I just had to wait 4processing backed up was lie. Almost 9weeks to here ID verfy is BS

My return was accepted 2/10 thru TurboTax. Lost all bars and tax topic on 3/1 and got your return is still beings processed message but all info on the left remained. I just received a letter from IRS 3/11 saying I forgot to add my for 8962 for marketplace insurance DUHHHH! I faxed everything to them same day and still no change. ARRGGHH.

And lastly, I’ve been researching on here and *think*, if your TT returns and amount disappears, your DD should be forthcoming soon. At least that’s what I’ve read about people with delayed refunds. Of course, I could be wrong, just my opinion, but it seems to be on par.

Final note: After 5 years of being a weekly (05), apparently this year I moved to 02.

My random situation, in case it helps anyone:

When I called IRS on 3/5, they were no help and basically gave the standard speech of “there are delays, wait up to 10 week”.
I called the TA on 3/10 and they said they couldn’t even help me. They said I had to wait until 3/26 and if I don’t see any changes, then call back and they can open a case. She did say I had a Code 100, which means that there is no “error” per se and to wait it out.

I asked for any new info any change on amount and I was told nothing was changed and if so I’ll receive notice in the mail. So what was there to be corrected?

Still have all info on left and and TT 152. Getting another letter in the mail from IRS today. Not sure what kind of good news they are sending my way now. Audit? I called and an ax advocate was able to take on my case. I have been stuck in limbo with a code 100 telling me to wait 3-4 days for weeks now. I am still in the beginning stages, but from what I was told, there was no effort to speed up any process as they work in batches and its not always first in, first out.

Yes the advocates aren’t taking any one with this “error code”. However if you have called the taxpayer advocate on 3/11 or prior and been written up (gave a transfer pin) they have to send you to an advocate. Basically it’s an internal error and you are waiting for someone to manually go in and release it. Usually 3/4 days. It with the mass amount of returns – up to 10 weeks.

If you called before they changed their rules – call back and push for an advocate.

The advocates changed their criteria and couldn’t help anyone who is in this ers department status. So I just read this….
The irs uses your area code to determine your local time. Download a wifi app and use the furthest area code. (Im on mtn which is 3hrs right now from est) so use an east coast number and I can start calling when irs in dc opens at 7am (4am for me) giving me 3 hrs extra to call.

When I first got on the line I was told that they are experiencing delays and that they are asking taxpayers to be patient that it could take an additional 10 weeks to process returns.

Got through in 5 minutes through the spanish line 800-829-0582, press 2 for spanish, then 625 as the ext. It may take a few tries just to get to the “welcome to the internal revenue service” rather than “thank you for calling” message. I ended up only getting told my refund is still being processed through the errors resolution department please allow 10 weeks and to call back 4/23 if you don’t hear or see anything.
Same old that a lot of people are getting.

@Kcushing – if your child’s father pays child support they blocked the second one in December from going to the mothers for child support, this $1400 one will be blocked as well. That could be cause of your delay for claiming it.

The lady at irs knew my update info from current return. Also, ordered both my account and return transcripts by mail (dont have access to the online ones). The IRS told me today I have error code 900 on my tax return and to allow 10 weeks to receive it. She stated she didn’t know WHAT error code 900 means and couldn’t tell me anything else regarding it. Anybody know what it is?
