You have GOT to be kidding me!!!

So, I got one of those lovely ID verification letters yesterday. First of all, you have had my return since the beginning of JANUARY, and it was accepted early, so WHY am I getting a letter dated for 2/15?!?!?!

But, I called this morning, and this chick tells me one of my answers is wrong. All she asked was my info, my moms first and maiden name and my dads name. And she had me go all the way back to 2014 returns. I know my info and my parents info is right, and I gave her what my return said.

So now, I have to go to the fricking tax office in Detroit, because that is the closest one to my house, and they can’t get me an appt until MARCH. Seriously. WHY???? I NEED this money. FML.

The same almost exact same thing happened to me. I too am now going to have to go to Downtown Detroit to verify my ID. The only thing I think it could be is that I changed my address on my ID but gave her my mom’s address which is the one on my return. That is the only possible answer of the questions asked that could be wrong and the 1st available app was 2/27. FML too!!

Called it’s this morning was told I have a ddd of 2/23 but I am having part of my eitc held for review cause they have a question about 2015. Said I have to wait 30 days for a letter to come through the mail. wtf I have been claiming my kids since birth and they are 14 and 18. Both still in school. I am beyond stressed. I don’t know what I could have done wrong.
