Hey there, this is my first time posting here so I hope this is all alright. I totally understand that most of this is guess work and that no one can really give me any guarantees or solid answers but I am just looking for as much info as possible. To be honest, I’m sort of dealing with some pressing financial troubles that are causing me a lot of anxiety so I’ve been eating up the info here hoping to hear something that can soothe my concerns.

So, we filed 01/27, claiming an earned income tax credit and an additional child tax credit. State and federal were “accepted” same day. On Saturday, 02/01, my WMR updated to the PATH message with no bars and no refund amount shown. Based on what I had been reading here, this led me to assume that I am most likely a weekly. My memory is foggy but I believe last year we were weekly as well, because we seemed to follow the updates that others were posting about. I’ve never been able to figure out how to view transcripts so I don’t have any info on that front. Nothing has changed on my WMR at this point- I checked Saturday morning just in case although I knew that didn’t really make sense with the whole PATH system. I’m hearing a lot of different things about what people are seeing on their transcripts and what people are expecting for deposit dates so I’m just looking for some input on that, I guess. Last year we got our refund on Friday the 22nd of February. I’ve seen some PATHers hoping for a DD of 01/18, if this were possible it would be pretty life saving, does anyone think it is? Thanks for any info!

Last year the government shutdown gave us a later date which my deposit was on the 27 but in 2018 my deposit was the 22nd of February IAM a larger also this year I filed January 13 was accepted days later . On my transcript it’s says processing date of February 10th. So I assume when they lift the hold mines will be sunt to by bank with the deposit by the 20

So the bottom line is that they hold the refunds until the 15th, period. You don’t get them earlier if you’re path and anyone who says otherwise is lying. That being said, they start releasing them first business day after the 14th. So some will receive on the 18th. Most will receive later that week.

And Ole Boy… I know everyone likes to hate on the PATH Act… But the PATH Act is necessary and contains a lot more than just refund related legislation. Trump would never and should never touch it. And not to get too political, but canceling student debt? How about canceling the hundreds of useless majors they now offer in universities to leech off of government grants and loan companies, and stick to only offering degrees that, idk have actual value and will make actual money, instead of gender and women’s studies,

Just an FYI: There are different roads on the path. Less complicated filers could likely see a ddd/dd sooner. Less complicated (“simple”) meaning, 1 credit. I have ALL of them. Therefore my dd is always at the very end of the month. Not to mention I added an elderly dependent this yr and moved. Lol. Ahhh, but it’s a lovely path.

                Ole boy

Well im sorry butnI dont believe that any real pather has recieved a deposit date yet a definetly not a deposit.
I will never belive anybody who claims to have recieved a DD that is a pather until it happens to me and im not holding my breath on that one unless trsmp can sign an order to over ride the path act to sway voters back his way if he could even do something like that i might even vote.
Nut then you have EWarren saying she will forgive student loan debt and thats huge so.. IDK
Sorry but bottom lune is somebody lied to you. They dont own that bridge they are trying to sell you either.

I filed super early last year and was even accepted before “opening day”. However, due to the tax overhaul last year I was “recycled” and didn’t get my refund until 3/13. From what I was told that was very common last year.

I filed on 2/10 this year and was accepted the same day. I’m stuck on TT152 with one bar. I don’t expect to update to the PATH message. I’m hoping for a DDD this Saturday, but will most likely see one next Saturday. Here’s hoping.

Thanks for the answers everyone! I’ll try to just be patient- luckily we’ve been given just a bit more time on those financial obligations so as long as deposits at least hit by the end of the month we should be okay. I appreciate all of the info!

As a pather I understand your frustrations I’m riding in that same sinking boat. We used HRB this year and there site has changed as of yesterday with a DDD of Feb 17th, so YES it is possible for some to get there deposit. Also I have received my refund several times before WMR updated with a DDD. Give those negative feelings and anxiety to the Most High and ride on faith because we have done our part!

I need help!. My Transcript says that I have a cycle code of 20200405, and a processing date of yesterday (2/10/2020). I do not have a DDD, and I am stuck on a path message on WMR. Is someone in this same situation as I am? Or Is there at least someone in a similar situation that has a DDD or an inkling of a DDD?

For the transcripts, if you really want to get a look at them…
Go to irs.gov, click on the “get transcripts” or “get tax record”
                                  then click on “get online”
You will have to have several pieces of information, one of the following: Student loan account number, mortgage account number, car loan account number, last 8 digits of credit card, you MUST HAVE one of those items, the person creating the account must also have a cell phone in their name to verify ID and every time you log in you will have to be able to access that phone because they will send you a verification code.
Once in, it will ask why you want them, I always choose other, then, click on the tax year you want to look at for whichever transcript you want. I believe the account transcript is the easiest to read, the others give a lot of information, but not necessarily the cycle dates and as of dates you would be looking for. Good luck

PATH returns aren’t even being released until 2/15. IRS states first deposits will be 2/22.

Don’t count on a deposit before that date. If you get it – great but don’t get your hopes up. I know how hard it is waiting because you have financial obligations that are really stressful. You’re just causing yourself more stress by placing so much energy on an earlier date.

                                    Try to be optimistic.

I filed 02/01 accepted 02/01. i file both credits every year and i have never updated to the path message. This year on WMR i have 1 bar with a tax topic of 152 and i have been like that for a week. I believe we will have an update between Wed-Sat with DDD but like the previous message said i have had my refund before WMR even updated actually it did not update until after my direct deposit was made. I believe early filers 01/27-02/08 who are pathers are the first batch of refunds to be issued hopefully no later than 02/26

I am also a weekly, which generally means that you will see an update to WMR on Saturday. I will caution you to rely too heavily on WMR updating, most of the time I have my refund in my account before WMR updates. With the 15th being on a Saturday, followed immediately by a Federal and banking holiday, while it is possible that you could get your refund by the 18th, it’s not likely. Last year our transcripts said our refund was sent on the 18th, but we didn’t actually get it until the 27th. I think the majority of early filers will see their deposit start to drop on the 21st and the so on. The wait is almost over, hang in there.

                                          Hello,

Well the lift is the 15th, certainly within their capacity. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Last year, I never updated to PATH. Had tax topic 152. The money was in my account before the app updated me. I ultimately stopped checking and simply checked in on my Chase account. When it was there – 2/28. It was seeya IRS2GO app.

                                          All the best ..
