I guess either way we will all find out tomorrow when half of us call the IRS. Unfortunately I can’t. So please post or comment here what you find out please.
Many thanks! -

The code 1541 is a generic internal code used by the IRS to identify returns that have been “Delayed”. There are different reasons accounting for the 1541 reference number; so not everyone’s reason will be the same. … IRS has an overflow of returns at this time and maybe behind schedule.Mar 13, 2018

I really believe after spending the day researching this and speaking with a long time tax accountant, that due to the volume of us that got this code , it’s generic, and we will be ok. That’s not to say that SOME of us will have an issue, but the bulk will be just fine.

redacted B: seems after the clusterf*ck that was last year, the good ole’ IRS has come up with some new ways of frustrating us! I’m thinking that this is just simply the sequel!

Strangest thing is. I got this code Friday night/Saturday morning. But my state refund is due to deposit tomorrow morning. I always thought if there was a problem with federal, they held your state refund also?? Am I wrong on that?

Since soooo many people have that code and seem to be early filers im guessing its there way of saying you got resent to the end of the line or are due to be processed after the 15th when they are supposed to shut down the goverment again.

Many folks think it’s just a generic code if we got the eic and child tax credits. I did. So they’ve been delayed until the 15th.

1541 just means there is a delay. I called the IRS with the same code yesterday. The very nice lady told me that it really only means delay. For EIC/CHILD credits.

1541 – Offset Overflow freeze set when offset storage within IDRS is not large enough to hold all generated transactions, or credit balance has been completely offset and two or more debit modules still exist
