WMR status bar disappeared

I have had one bar ever since being accepted on 1/17. I checked my status yesterday, 2/1, & my bars were gone along with my refund amount. Replaced with “your return is still being processed.” Along with TT 152

I don’t file EIC or ACTC

Has this happened to anyone else?

Finally, after filing on 2/6 getting 2 letter to be under review i finally updated last night to approved! Its been months and months of nothing to finally getting an advocate to faxing last pay check stub from last year! My employer did not report 26k worth of wages and was ass broke , after finding this site months ago i was pissed to say the least but the wait is finally over … Pos company i WORKED for

No one can tell me where my tax return is at all. The tax advocate customer care basically tried to talk me down from being upset but made me feel way worse telling me that I possibly might not get the earned income tax credit blah blah blah blah…. Let me say this if my full amount does not come through all hell will break loose. I don’t owe them nor anyone else and I damn sure should qualify with the money I’ve given each check. My wmr tool bar has been down for months. I filed feb 20th got accepted feb 23rd. Been place in review after f***** review I’m beyond angry. Then she proceeds to tell me I shouldn’t depend on the money I’m waiting for are you kidding me…. she’s literally the worse representation of the tax advocate service. Clearly I’m going through hardship of course I’m going to depend on money that’s mines to begin with…. At this point I don’t even want there help. I’m over the IRS I might have to go exempt…. because this just isn’t right….

edgar dont go exempt theyll end up fucking you over next year as well. you will get audited i had to pay back taxes last year so did my jobs forman good thing i didnt have it that long cause i only had to pay back 500 my former boss had to pay back 4000 cause he was exempt the whole year. you can only go exempt of your handicap. ive did my taxes in feb the third to be exact still waiting cause of last years mishaps or else i would of got it by now so take my advice and dont go exempt unless you wanna be paying back thousands at the end of the year. IRS isnt anything to play with you can hate them all you want but your not ever going to get over on them take my word for it.

Been watching this thread for almost 2 months. Never posted.
Here’s my story…..

Submitted taxes February 13th
Had one bar
Bar went missing on or around 3/1/19
Checked transcripts a day or two later and had 570 3/25/19
Also had 971 4/1/2019

I called the irs sometime around the 1st week of march and was told there was a hold because I had not filed for a previous year (I knew for a fact this was false) was transferred to that department and they confirmed that wasnt the issue.

Was then transferred to a lady who told me to just wait they were reviewing.
Called back a week later and got a guy who was nice enough to go through my return and identify that I made a mistake on the amount of taxes I paid (very small mathematical error) Error was in my favor.

However, he told me the only way to fix it was to file an amended return. I did not want to go this route because amended returns take even longer to process. I also did some research and found that the irs normally will adjust or correct small mathematical errors and that my return should be processed regardless of the error.

So I decided to try to get a tax advocate (it is now about mid/late march). I waited with hopes that something would change around 3/25/19 (the 570 date on transcript).
I called the tax advocate 800 # and was on hold for 4 hours + and never got through.
Called the local tax advocate number a few days later, no answer but I left a message.

April 1st comes along and I get CP05 letter 45 day review
A few days after that I get 4464c letter 60 day review
Still no response from tax advocate people even though I was supposed to get a call back in 24 hrs.

Lurking online and I found tax form 911 that could be faxed to tax advocate department. i fill it out and fax it. I believe this was on 4/5/19.

4/11/2019 still no word from advocate so I call back local advocate line and someone immediately picks up. The lady knew who I was when I stated my name (shows they got messages and fax). Anyways I tell the lady i have a hardship and she assigns me an advocate.

Advocate calls 4/15/19 and states that shes looked into my case and the only reason they are holding it is because of that small mathematical error (which I had never mentioned to anyone). She states that they shouldn’t be holding it for such a small error and that she had already asked them to release it. She said give it 3 weeks.

checked my transcripts on thursday 4/18/19 and had
571 code (hold reversed) and
846 4/23/19
Checked WMR today and there’s 2 bars w/ DD 4/23/19

We all have in our opinions in these tax season. Unfortunately none of us is qualified to handle our returns including the ppl handling them. F/A 1/31 and for every return is to each is own. If someone feel as though they want to rack up their tax bill at the end of the year let them, that isn’t none of my concern including yours. Let’s face it we all been waiting centuries for our refund that we’re due but God has the upper hand in every situation. Trust and believe he will provide and is always on time

edgar dont tell people to go exempt my foreman from my previous job went exempt and now owes 4000 dollers. If you wanna pay at the end of the year and not get anythingg back fine but exempt is only if your handicap or others i not to sure about. trust me i got audited last year for it didnt get to get my refund last year they considered fraud so dont mislead people man.
my advice is simple wait like the millions of us.

Ya’ll are going to be waiting a long, long time. Most of us here have been waiting since late January early February so if your bars are just now disappearing I feel for you. The IRS is on a mission to fuk over as many hard working folks as possible this year. Clearly.

I encourage all of you to go to your HR dept and claim EXEMPT asap b/c they’re just going to keep doing it to you as long as you let them.

I’m exempt and I got a $200/mo raise per check. Wooot! fuk the IRS.

So talked to another rep and they said a letter had been sent the 21st of march. Called last week and requested a TA. TA called me yesterday. Supposedly one of my employers never verified employment with the IRS. So I had to fax my last check stub from December(not the W2) and they would get it to the IRS. After doing so I received my letter from the IRS stating that they needed to verify wages. And that I shouldn’t do anything because nothings wrong on my end. And I should receive my refund May 23…. Well the TA said I should receive my refund sometime this week. They are playing games and holding peoples money for long periods of times for little things that could be established as soon as they know whats going on. It shouldn’t take 60 days to send a person a letter for something you know about as soon as you get their paperwork. Long story short… I guess I will keep you posted on whether or not it was a good idea to get a TA.

Bar disappeared 3/16-“still being processed”.
Got a letter on 3/21 to file a new 8962 and send in with 1095-A.
Called to get clarification on what was filled out incorrectly, filled it out and mailed it on 3/22.

Of course, no updates as of yet. They said 6-8 weeks to receive/process corrected form. Can’t see 2018 return transcripts, but can see account transcripts and they have prior year info, no 2018 on file and an as of date next to penalty and interest lines 3/25/2018..

I’m just trying to be patient and see what hoop they throw up in front of me next after seeing what others have been going through.

I filed my taxes 3-3-19 they were accepted on the same day. It showed accepted until today 3-23-19 my 21st day will be tomorrow, this morning I checked it and the bar has disappeared and it says it’s being processed and a date will will appear when available? This has never happened before.

@Envyy – I’ve been waiting since 2/5. Some here have been waiting even longer. The IRS is basically fuking over as many folks as possible this year. Grade A BS if you ask me. Just file exempt so they can’t do this to you again next year. I already have. Just get your money up front in your paychecks so you don’t have worry about them doing whatever with it except give it back to you.

I’ve been on tax topic 152 with no bars since 3/15. Yesterday a rep told me everyone with eic has a 2 week extension on their wait and I would be getting my refund before 3/29 and to keep checking wmr. I’m not under review, no letters, and I wasn’t required to id verify.

This morning wmr says my refund information is incorrect as if it can’t find my refund file. This happened right before it updated and my bars disappeared with TT 153. So hopefully it’ll update tonight with a DDD! Fingers crossed 😁

I was told they randomly picked me to verify income and tax credits. I hit my 21st day on Feb 28, Also, they have 45 days from March 18th to issue my return. Hello… I am officially in a panic myself… I filed on Jan 31st, it was accepted the next day. I have EITC..
Here it is the 9tb of March, everyone around me has received their refunds, I called the tax preparer office numerous times, and nothing… I have checked on the wheres my refund site daily, only to see “still being processed “..
I have NEVER seen any bars indicating any progress….. no offsets either, as i have also called that number every day..
I’m finally told today there are many who have not received their refunds either that filed when i did, and a week later due to the prior government shutdown…
I’m starting to think I’m not getting a refund… i cant call the IRS.. all i get it a recording telling me to enter in my info electronically just like on the wheres my refund page.. no human to help!!

You should get your transcripts as they have information on your status. The same thing happened to me except they have not filed my taxes but sent me a letter needing more information and now it’s a 6-8 weeks wait since I sent them the info they needed.

Within 2 weeks of being accepted I received a message on WMR app saying take action. I called the irs just for them to tell me my refund is going into an additional review on the 25th of February and no action is needed right now. Well I deleted the app because they said something about waiting 45 days after the 25th to get an update ugh but I checked on the web today and it gave me a “ your refund is being processed” with no bars like at the beginning. I find it strange out of all my years of filing I’ve never had this happen!!!!

Angela P – not necessarily. I have no WMR codes so I called them yesterday b/c it was day 21 for me and the IRS lady said I was under review. She said no letters had been mailed, I have no codes, I’d just been flagged for whatever reason. My WMR still shows the same “still being processed” w/ no bars message. You should call them ASAP. I now have to wait 45 days AFTER 3/11.

I have tried calling but I can’t get through to a live person. I claimed eitc and actc so I’m not sure if that’s what’s causing the delay. If I was under review I would at least be able to see tax codes on my transcripts wouldn’t I? When I log online to view them the top two say N/A and the bottom two are blank.

If your bars disappeared and you only have the “still processing” message after 21 days, I strongly suggest calling the IRS to see wtf is up. Im pissed but absolutely nothing I can do about it. Thanks IRS!

Hey you guys,

Just thought I would give some hope. There is a difference between Account and Return transcripts. If you are able to view or order your Return transcript then your return was processed. The Account transcripts only provide all activities and codes. Words directly from the IRS. I was able to finally order my Return transcript Friday and updated Saturday with my DDD. Good luck guys. If you get a chance read thru some other forums and post. This has been a common occurence this tax season and for SOME it literally just meant for them it has not been processed. They waited a little while longer it cleared and updated with a DDD. For some they called and it could mean something but as many have said take it with a grain of salt. If you are still worried wait until after the 27th and call. Some people as I have read have been resequenced and given later deposit dates. For example:

I filed 1/18
Accepted 1/22
1 bar a few days later
Then went to PATH
Updated like many on 2/16 to ” We have receives your tax return and it is being processed”
Allllllllllllllllllllllll week long never updated until yesterday 2/23 until DDD of 2/27.

Many people again as you read thru forums have said next DDD will be 3/1 and I think some have said I think after that 3/4 or 3/5.

So dont get discouraged and give up!

It seems a bunch of resequencing has occured for many people.

Some filed later got faster refunds than some of us that filed earlier. As many have said its a waiting and guessing game! I have learned so much from this forum! Keep reading!

I was accepted 1/28 and my bars webt away 2/15 leaving only the topic 152 , my refund amount and the “Your tax return is still being processed and and a refund date will be provided when available.

I check my transcripts and it states “no return filed.” I did get an EIC credit for myself .

This is going to be lengthy but hopefully helps.
Filed Jan 28th and accepted. Tax topic 152 (which is good)
Feb 9th bar went missing, refund amount missing and TT 152 missing also. Said “processing”. Not “still processing”.
Feb 16th my tax refund amount came back, no bars and no TT 152.
Feb 23rd full bars back with DDD for the 27th.

From what I can gather is that most that filed end of Jan with CTC and/or EIC didn’t process as fast as the early Feb filers. I’m sure some slipped through though. It seems that this is updating every week for many and some update daily. If you can check transcripts, do so. I couldn’t and just sat with my thumb up my butt for a month. 😂🙄 If you update daily you may receive your DDD this week and have by end of week. If weekly, will update Sat morning and have the following week.
I am not an expert but this is just the jist from what I’ve read. I wish you all the best of luck. I know it’s stressful. I was under review last year and received mine early March. If you are under review, the code will be posted within two weeks of filing. Usually.

My bars disappeared and I filed on the 30th , Just like most on here my status did update today, Here’s some information I learned durinh this stressful week my cycle code is 05 so my accoung didn’t update daily only weekly every Thursday with information posted on WMR Saturday morning, however Friday after 8pm I was able to see my DDD on my transcript. Also I called the IRS on Wednesday because of the EIC wasn’t able to be applied until after the 15th then that’s when your 21 days start some peoples are moving fast but unfortunately its the system and you have to wait it out . This same thing happened to me last year and I still received my refund. I believe when your bars have disappeared it’s a good thing and it’s just waiting to update for a ddd. Attention people just got off the phone with a very helpful irs rep!To the ones that claimed any EIC by law they started proccesing those returns on FEB 15!!i had a message with reference code 9001 and he said that i does not affect the return so basically he said that the 21 days started on the 15th of February!!I been subjected to check my identity for 4 years in a row he said hopefully that is over with!!Based of new tax laws and the partial govt shutdown is going to be taking a little while but hopefully not that long!GOOD LUCK!

I bought a Tesla Model 3. They told me that the form filed for the EV tax credit is why my bars went away. I have no bars it says still being processed with TT 152 (doesn’t apply to me) but it’s still showing. The rep gave my no clarification other than that form is the reason my return is delayed. She said there wasn’t an error of any kind because they would send a letter for more information. She said it is simply being looked at. I would advise filing ASAP because you’re refund could take longer than most other folks if claiming this credit. So this is awesome. I’m in debt with bills due and I’m waiting to get my money back from the IRS who’s telling me to just wait with zero time frame. I’m not stoked

I just got off the phone with IRS finally got a live person…I’m in Penna and what I was told by this lady who sounded a bit frustrated (likely from numerous calls) that anyone with earned credits taxes are being held until refits verifications are done. She also said by the 27th of February those of use with those credits should either have an update or a ddd…now I didnt want to get into the whole “some with those credits recieved their returns already” bcuz she was so animated about the 27th…This is some real bullshit and I am so frustrated rite about now with this process. Last year I filed exactly the same way as this year and didnt have this problem. Not once did she use the fact that the government was shutdown for an excuse…what the blank is going on!!!!

So, I have delved into this “bars have disappeared” further and from what I can tell it is happening for a lot of ppl ! While it appears that for some it may mean further review, for others it seem like it is due to back log. I notice that on other threads in this forum, people actually are writing that several days after their bars disappear, they get a DDD. I have no bars with the “see topic 152 regarding your tax situation” which is due to child tax credits and EIC , I was myself a little nervous when this happen to me, however, after seeing it happening to so many others, I believe this is going to straighten itself out. I am hoping that we all get some sort of update this Sat the 23rd! I have seen a lot of people saying we should update on that day, all we can do is wait. If anyone has any info to share, maybe it would help to ease all of our anxieties, as this tax year is soooo crazy!

From my understanding it is due to your taxes being pulled. This can be to fix an error themselves, sending you a letter looking for more information, or in my case to examine a form further.

I filed a form for my Electric Vehicle purchase which gives me a $7,500 tax credit. This is not normal for most people.

I just got off the phone with the IRS and they explained that the information is simply being verified. Nothing I can do on my end because they did not send me any letter in the mail as of yet.

This is ridiculous. It’s my money. Give it to me. I’ve got bills to pay.

All zero’s like it wasn’t even touched.

I’m thinking that the bars and standard TT152 messages we were all receiving were just holding placards. With the shut down, our returns sat in a holding pattern since they were so far behind and they’re just now getting to them.

Aggravating to say the least, but there does seem to be some movement happening with others. Giving them until this Saturday since I’m a weekly and if nothing, I’ll join others en masse in calling them.

My taxes were filed on 01/21 and accepted on 01/22. The WMR progress bar disappeared along with 152 code on the 16th of this month (Feb) and was replaced with the ‘being processed’ message. No other info or codes, besides my personal info to the left and my ‘expected’ refund amount. I seem to remember from previous years at least having a DDD to go off of by now or something. Yeah it happened to me as well, and it happened to me about 3 years ago. It means the return is being reviewed and possibly amended by the IRS number crunchers. Mine then and now was due to dependents not having insurance for more than the allowable 2 concurrent months. I have no clue why yours may be needing to be reviewed. That’s info only you would be able to speculate on. Worst case scenario is your refund could be delayed 6 weeks from when you were accepted. Stinks

The PATH message was on WMR for a while. After that message disappeared, I’m now receiving a message stating your refund is being processed. I filed January 10th with my tax preparer. My tax transcript shows my refund was processed February 11. Does that mean that my tax preparer sent my return in later than I filed? I don’t have any status bars on WMR

Filed 1/30 Accepted 1/31 (according to HR block email. I called today and was told I was actually accepted in their system on 2/4. They did not see a direct deposit date yet but said there was no problem with my return. I too changed from one bar this morning to the “still being processed..”

Tip… Tell them you need to change your address so they have to look at your file. If you ask for the status of the refund they are provided scripted rebuttals to read to get us off the phone.

@leenie, so that has happened to a lot of us, apparently it is all part of the process or a lag in the wmr site. Seems like that is what is happening for most of us right before a ddd gets issued. I was told by the irs unless there is a message on wmr to call with a code not to worry. Not sure if that will help just the info I have been given and from what I am seeing on this forum.

So glad to find this thread because I was freaking out. Filed on 1/30 and was accepted the same day. Saw the bar on WMR afew days later, saying accepted.. a few days ago the bars disappeared and I have the same message everyone else has. I know a few people that filed the same day as me or before and they have DDD of 2/22. I am trying to look at my transcript now, since I see that some people have said to look at the processing date on the bottom. We all count on this money and it would be helpful to at least know everything is ok. I moved to another state last year and had w2s from both states, this resulted in one of my state returns being delayed until June but my federal return was fine.. hoping it has nothing to do with the me having this issue the previous year..? I sure hope we are close! I am kind of in the same boat. I filed 1/24 and was accepted same day (surprisingly). I was able to check the status on WMR on 1/25. At that time I had the bars with “we have received your return and it is being processed” message along with TT152.
Last Tuesday, I lost all bars & TT152 and it was replaced with the message that it was “still” being processed, and a refund date will be provided when available…. My info is still showing on the left but I do not have TT152 anymore. I hav erad that some ppl still have the tax topic so there are so many different kinds of messages being put out there. I also don’t have any codes which I am taking as a good thing!
It is extremely frustrating though. I could not get thru today when i called because they are so overwhelmed with phone calls so that tells me this is happening to ALOT of people…
I really wish they would find a better way to do this!! This process is so antiquated.
I just hope we are all close to a DDD (like this week would be nice)

I agree. Some people have commented saying that half of us are lying about our DDD, like seriously? What do we gain from lying. I just believe the frustration is setting in as the wait continues and people are quick to pop off at the mouth. Someone also wrote how they can’t believe how we get all of our info from this site. I know how you feel…. it was just last Friday that I was ready to pull my hair out because I was stuck on the Path msg for weeks only to see it change to “still processing” but the same thing happened to my sister and a day or two later she received a DDD. So I waited a little while longer and there it was for me, a DDD for 2/22. One thing is for certain, whoever hasn’t received a DDD…. it’s coming. I bet my money on this week. my bars have been gone since the beginning of feb. I filed around 1/30. Mine usually updates on saturday. (according to someone else they post the update friday and it is displayed on saturdays) or something like that.
Did you check saturday at all or did you just check on monday? I’m guessing you might be a weekend updater like myself meaning that you probably will not see a refund until next week. (TOTAL NON PROFESSIONAL GUESS)

Same thing happened to me. They accepted my return, then I was stuck on the Path message for almost two weeks. Then it went back to “we have received your return and it is still being processed”
They next day WMR updated giving me a DDD of 2/22.

Well the site is back up. Only update for me is that my refund amount finally came back on wmr site but still processing msg hasn’t changed. I think they are actively working on mine because my transcripts still show no return filed and all 0s but…even that just updated with a process date of march 4th. I have been audited before in 2012 and the wmr bar didn’t disappear it stayed on one bar along with audit codes I received a letter from the irs the following day. My guess is if it’s been close to your 21 days and you do not have any codes or a letter from the irs you should receive your refund! Once you are flagged they notify you immediately. You may even get the letter in the mail before the codes show up on wmr

Where’s My Refund isn’t working for me either. I’ve been trying to check it because the app doesn’t give as much information. I have a similar situation where I filed on 2/2 and it was accepted the same day. I had bars until the 16th then it switched to “still processing”.

I was accepted on 1/25 my bars disappeared on 2/12 along with my dollar amount to the left and a message stating your refund is being processed and a refund date will be provided when available/ Saturday night my dollar amount came back but my tt152 was gone with a message just stating your return is being processed the refund date being provided was gone. Apparently its happening to alot of us and from what I am reading on here it seems to be part of the process. Some that it has happened to have gotten a ddd. I think we just need to be patient. If you were accepted on the 28th your 21 days is tomorrow and if you call the irs they will be able to look into it for you but they would not before the 21 days. But they also state due to those 2 credits most refunds would not go out until 2/27 and most pathers would see an update on 2/23. Hope that helps

People people!! Still being processing no necessary means a problem with your return, being processed either but let me say something else, either one can lead to a review, for my personal experience I got both In the past and both always lead me to a refund day at the end..
If you get an error code like 1541 or 9001 can be for sure a review, also when your return say it may take longer to or delay it can be a review too..

Friday morning my bars disappeared along with the tax topic. I texted a friend of mines and she had the same. I filed and was accepted 1/31 , she filed a week before I did so we’re both still in the 21 days. Hers updated overnight last night and her was approved, mines still says being processed and bars are missing and no TT like before. I’m hoping that it’s just something in the middle before it’s approved. I’ve never had bars disappear before and to someone personally who had the same thing gives me some hope it’s just part of the progress.

Last year I filed in January and after the 21 days, I got the message that it was STILL processing. I called a few times and it said it was under review and I would receive a letter. Never got one. I was told I had to wait 45 days, once that day was up had to wait another 45 days. I finally called a Tax Advocate. I filed before a W2 came in for $50.00, it was a paid training nurse agency job and I never took the job. So I had to amend my return but report financial hardship so I wouldn’t have to wait the 16 weeks. Finally in JUNE, I received my tax return. It will say STILL PROCESSING if it’s after the 21 days.

I’m with Josh. U have to watch that filing early stuff. I never file before the 10th of February every year. I figure I’ll still get my refund at the same time and it helps avoid a long wait plus the worry of them trying to scrutinize my return. They also worry about tax fraud and identity theft and those 2 things normally happen on early filed returns

I filed on 2/5 with EIC and CTC. I stayed on one bar all the way up to this morning I had no bars and no T152. it still had my deposit amount though. Well it is almost 10pm CST and I just checked because I saw that it updates from 9-12. I now have 2 bars with a DD of 2/22/19. I’m not sure if I’m a weekly or daily sorry. Mark, that’s incorrect. Your return starts being processed AS SOON AS THE IRS RECEIVES IT, provided they received it when the tax season is open. I filed 1/31 last year, accepted 30min later, and received my refund 2/22, exactly 21 days later. Considering I was on PATH it seems like my 21 days didn’t start on 2/15, doesn’t it?

The PATH Act only affects when the IRS sends out actual refunds, which is exactly what they state on the website. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Actually that is not entirely correct. PATH Act returns 21 days start the 28th of January. The day the IRS “officially” opened. The actual refunds can not be dispersed before the 15th of February. It is a hold on the refund not the return itself. Also, most early filers are accepted before opening day BUT the 21 days does not start until the 28th of January. Also, it is not “first come, first serve”. There are people whom filed after I did that have DDD. I more than likely was resequenced. It happens EVERY YEAR. Yes, the IRS is way behind, it was on the national news earlier this week and it’s common knowledge. Yes, dailies update during the week, any day. Weeklies update on Friday night. Most of what everyone is seeing, isn’t anything more than a generic message but it is possible that some may receive a letter. I think most, if not all of us that have lost bars and have no codes, are just fine. Looking through most the threads today, a lot of weeklies are still sitting at “refund has been received and is being processed.” My transcripts updated yesterday about 9pm EST. I had an address change and could final access my transcripts last night because my return was processed. I have EIC, never received the PATH message and I was accepted 1/24. My WMR changed slightly overnight. I’m pretty confident I will have a refund DD by the end of the week but I may very well be wrong. I just hope everyone sees positive moves by the end of the week… most preferably a DDD or 846 on your transcripts.

OK guys let’s clear some things up,if you got the path message then your 21days do not start till Feb.15, expect refund end if feb. First of march.if you got no path it started when you filed but they are backlogged and are in holding, first come first served. Updates to wmr if your status changed during the week your a daily if only changed on Saturday your a weekly. OK,if you got no error codes then its coming espically you got topic 152.they can update nightly 12am to 3 am.unless you got a error, your good to go.

My refund was received and accepted on 1/29. My status bar on WMR disappeared after 2 weeks. I paid money towards my education so I’m receiving education credit for that. I checked WMR this morning and it says to be deposited on 2/21/19.

Hi everyone. My return was accepted 1/29. I lost my bars and tax refund amount around 2/12. I had the 152 code. I do not file any credits. I could get my transcripts this whole time but I had to do a security refresh online first. Once that was done, I could get my transcripts but they were empty. They updated yesterday with all of my tax info and with a refund date of 2/21. WMR updated today with the same refund date.

If you have a similar situation, go to your transcripts first. They will update a day before WMR.

And for those worried about immediate audits, don’t. Audits do not start until the end of the year and they are usually for the year before, not the current year. Most reviews are for missing paperwork, significant changes in circumstances from previous years, math errors, or identity theft issues. Reviews and audits are different. Reviews are just to get your math and paperwork to align with what the IRS has on file for you already.

Maybe I can help a few people with this post. I filed on 2/11/19 so last Monday and was accepted by the irs that night. I checked Tuesday morning and had 1 bar. Oh I do get the eic and child credit. My bars disappeared on Thurs morning so I ordered my transcripts online and was able to look on my account transcript and see my refund amount represented by a negative sign in front of my expected amount as well as the codes 150, 766, and 768 as well as 1 more code but not the 846 code which represents the refund being issued. Yesterday was the same thing. This morning I checked wmr and bars were still gone as well as the path act message which was there before. Then I looked at my transcripts again and I have the code 846 on there for the refund issuance. I just wanted to share with people that and to say that it is not bad to lose bars. Check and see if you can order your transcripts and find the 846 code on it or if your codes are different from the ones I have posted here. Good luck. My code 846 states my refund will be direct deposited into my account on 2/22/19

Hey everyone… so I filed 1/23, accepted 1/24 with Turbo Tax. I claimed EIC but not ACTC. I never received the PATH message, as I have in years past. I had 1 bar and TT 152 on WMR. I’m a weekly and on 2/9 I lost my bar and had the “Your return is processing” message with TT 152. I have tried several times today to order my transcripts but it kept saying my info did not match their records. I had an address change, so I knew once it accepted my new address, then I was more than likely processed. I tried at 7pm eastern time and no luck. I just tried again and it went through. I was able to order my transcripts. So I am hoping for an update to WMR overnight tonight. In years past, my WMR updated the day after my transcripts could be ordered. It’s movement, so I hope everyone else sees movement also. Also, keep trying periodically to order your transcripts. I will post an update tomorrow about my WMR!

I lost my bars and had the still processing message as of 2-12-19 and had no information in my transcripts, but i could access them after doing the security refresh. Today I was able to get my transcripts and they have my full info in them now with a date of 2-21 for refund.

Update: I spoke with IRS and actually got a rep that was really nice and willing to give information . He was looking into things and even updated my address for me. As of yesterday he said my return is processing normally. It looks ok. It hasn’t posted yet so that’s why there is no transcript available yet but he did say there was an error but they corrected it themselves. He said sometimes there are errors they can correct and when you get pulled for review is when they couldn’t correct them. So he verified it was corrected and I totally forget what he called it but said as of yesterday it entered the process where its beginning to post. So sharing this so hopefully everyone else who also lost bars maybe this is the case with yours also. Seems to me losing bars doesn’t really mean anything. It can mean your being pulled but it could also mean diddly squat. Good luck to all!

Definitely no audit. The irs audits towards the end of the year and it’s usually from past filing seasons. The information you are getting from Facebook is wrong. Everything is on an enormous delay because of the shut down and new tax laws.

Filed and accepted on 1/25 bars disappeared on 2/12 no amount to the left only my ss# and the date ending december 31st. message saying refund still being processed a refund date will be provided when available. Tried to get a transcript entered all the info correct it asked for a cell # I met the requirements on that but got a message stating they could not use my cell number gotta wait 5-10 days for an activation code to come in the mail. I did claim the atc and eitc so maybe that is what is making a difference. I was hoping to see at least some type of update today. How do you find out what the cyle date is everyone is talking about or if you are a weekly or daily update? I see these 2 things being talked about alot.

Keisha I haven’t yet, I just checked if the Santa Barbara bank took their fees from filing with Turbo T and they didn’t, some people even say this can be sign of under review, I don’t know anymore to tell you the true, path will be lift tonight to so I’m hopping to see some update tomorrow, 1 w2 from my husband and 2 kids why is so hard to process something so simple? I’ll try the transcript too, it will be my first time.

Don’t rely on TT date. My Turbo Tax says my refund is coming on 02/05 lol and still nothing. They just give you the date that is 21 days out.

I don’t believe the myth about the path message either, I think is just generic message to keep people busy…remember everyone is a different history, I just hope for all of to have some very good news tomorrow… let make this waiting game over! Good night!

I think that path message is just a generic message for people who applied for those credits. Its an acknowledgment that you applied, doesnt mean we are all getting it without some of us having to verify and wait. Myself included. I don’t think it’s a good sign or a bad sign. I also don’t think that in the next couple of days all of those returns are getting DDD. The IRS does what it wants. They can switch it up at any time. I’m hoping like everyone else I get a DDD, but I’m not digging through past returns and looking for any patterns and putting my hopes on that. I wish us all luck but don’t Drive yourself crazy. These people do what they want.

Well just noticed a friend of mine just had an update this morning, DD was schedueled and is claiming both credits,

It had only the path message after first bar gone.

In my case it changed only to still being process, amount gone too.

Lets see waht happen tomorrow.

I filed on 1/28 thru Turbotax for the first time this year.
Claimed the EIC and additional child tax credit.
My return was accepted the same day i filed and then i got the message PATH along with Topic 152 last week. its been the same for about 4 days now.
Except i noticed my refund amount has disappeared and i dont have the still processing message anymore.
On the turbo tax website its saying the 18th which is my 21 days. Im wondering if this is accurate.
Just praying for the best and that they update everyones tomorrow.

Filed and accepted on 1/28 through turbo tax.
On Tuesday all my bars disappeared and my refund amount disappeared as well. It also shows the 152 info although i have no dependents and i dont have eitc either.

I was concerned so I called the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 number. After multiple attempts I finally got through to a live agent. I firmly believe in the phrase kill them with kindness so i was as nice and respectful as possible.

After explaining the situation the agent did a complete turn around from being equally nice to actually saying “that’s not our f*cking problem. Call back after 21 days” and disconnecting the line.

My bars disappeared on 2/10. Just called IRS and she said because I have a dependent, although not a child, it is being classified as the child credit and those refunds are not being issued yet. Last year it was considered an exemption and this year isbis considered the credit. She said just keep checking the website since they will start going through those returns on 2/15.

Just for my curiosity, I called the IRS and a really nice lady advised me that she sees no issues with my return, and as long as I don’t have an error message… it is “normal” to have your bars disappear from time to time.

A rant:

This is the first year I have ever in the history of me, got to claim EIC and that is only because I only worked half the year this year. I was so excited. Then the let downs started. First I only got back about half what I was expecting. Second the whole filing situation has gave me an ulcer. I mean could the IRS be any more uninformative? If they want me to verify my identity all they have to do is just ask, I mean send the letter, shoot an email, what is up with all the shady crap? I do taxes for everyone in my family and a few friends and its all messed up this year. Between the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and this PATH business its a nightmare from start to finish, and don’t even think about wasting time calling the actual IRS for help, a very nice person will tell you in a very nice way that they don’t have any more information than you do. I mean What the Actual Heck??!! I really wanted to say “Well super nice lady, if you don’t have any information and I don’t have any information, who exactly has the information that I need?”

I filed 1/24 with Turbo Tax and got accepted 1/25. It’s been a week since my WMR bar disappeared and my social and my refund amount too. I did claim my son on my taxes. Yep – I just checked my pending deposits now on my banks app, and I see my husband’s paycheck that’s going in tmrrw and then the federal refund that says it will be deposited on feb 18… I know the fed refund wasn’t there 2 hrs ago

(Note: i don’t have the path: ACTC or eic)

Return accepted on the 28th. Bars have been gone for at least 2 days that I am aware of. All info still shows on left hand side. No TT #. I was able to view my transcripts today and no info is showing on them. No codes, no $ amount, nothing. Just got off the phone with the IRS after a 35 minute hold. Explained what the WMR was saying and bars gone and now refund amount gone. She said that its not me personally and I should not be worried it is because they are so far behind because of the government shut down. She didn’t even ask for my SS#, name nothing so she didn’t research my return at all. She also said that the system will show her the exact same thing that I see and she is still trying to get an answer as to why this is happening to so many people.

On 2/9 my bars disappeared completely, all I had was the “Your return is still being processed, a refund date will be provided when available”.. I still had my refund amount on the side, however I had no Tax Topic, No codes, Nothing..

(I am a weekly update and I have been every year, hence the update last Saturday)

But TODAY I logged in, it still has the same message, HOWEVER my refund amount has disappeared and my Tax Topic 152 has returned..

I don’t know what this means, but I know from previous years that TT 152 is a good thing.. Hoping to get an update on Saturday but we shall see..

Same here. I filed early on 1/24/19, I was actually accepted the same day. I was able to check my status with WMR on 1/25/19. I have had 1 bar with the TT 152, but since yesterday, 2/12/19 my bars disappeared with a message stating my refund is still processing and a refund date will be posted when available…. My info is still visible on the left hand side, but this never happened to me so I am nervous! Last year I was stuck on the PATH message for a week or 2 with the 1 bar but this time my bars completely disappeared and I never made it to the PATH message… I called the IRS and of course he told me not to worry as I am not seeing any ref codes or anything, nor have I received a letter. He also stated it is a glitch in their system as many people are experiencing this and they are dealing with lots of phone calls about this concern…. This is super frustrating. He also told me that with EITC and the Child Tax credit that nothing will start moving till after the 15th. I just don’t know how true that is!! I’m hoping we all get an update this Saturday, since that seems to be the big update day.. and not to the PATH message either! Straight to a freaking DDD please!! LOL

One thing I noticed, was that the IRS accepted on 1/28… But when I was on HRBlocks website on Monday, i looked at the history of my taxes, and it said my 2018 taxes were filed February 9… Then Tuesday, yesterday, the bars disappeared with that message, and now on the HRBlock site, when I look at the history, just says “you have successfully filed your taxes for 2018”

Maybe just a coincidence? Not sure.

My friend and I experienced the same situation that many of you have mentioned here previously. Both of us filed, both of our bars disappeared, but the next week she got a DDD and I got an additional review notice in the mail while the WMR website said still processing. I guess it just depends. This year, her bars are gone but so is my other friends. I honestly believe that the bars disappear while your taxes are being processed and either you get an approval and a date or an audit. Prayerfully it’s not the latter of the two.

You have to login into your turbo tax account if you file your taxes with them, you will have on the main screen your amount of refund and under that blue line marking your progress only with the program, for my research it reach the fullness when is past 21 days after your return is accepted but nothing else, my is like that because I file on the 20th of February but WMR doesn’t follow that, I have to count for the day actually IRS open 28th of Jan so I’m good till 18 so hopefully will update before that…

Natasha I did a research about turbo tax blue line and you are right, have nothing to be with WMR, my was accepted too on 1/22 disappeared on 02/10 and my 152 message is gone too, hopping to have some news after the 15th, I guess for people claim EIC and child tax the processing will start that as the PATH message say, still hope for everything go smooth and fast after that day, fingers cross.

My Turbo Tax displayed all bars as full but WMR still does not have bars and displays the still processing msg with tax topic 152. I did some research and according to Turbo Tax, the bars may show as full but that is based on their own system going off of their estimated refund date and has nothing to actually do with the IRS update.

@charless Glenn I filed on 01/10 and was accepted 01/17 and am pretty sure that means I was in the early test batch (but who knows) but when my bars (was at one bar) disappeared and the message “your return is still being processed a refund date will be provided when available” came up I also lost my 152 tax topic but had no other codes or etc. on WMR. My refund amount and etc are still on the left. (I’m not in path or etc). Just letting you know I don’t see tax topic 152 even though I was in the test batch. you will see a ddd on wmr after on the morn of the 13th or 14th. they wont even release to you the ddd till then, unless you were in the test batch. you will see message 152 till then, which essentially means youve been processed and are fine and ok. just waiting to get past a certain date. any other message with a # is a issue with return

Hi Jessica, to tell you the true I don’t know how to do the transcript thing but I may try that, it just got me nerves the change of the sudden and our taxes was ver straight forward, 2 kids only 1 w2 so I hope I can see an update this weekend and we good news too and I’ll let you guys know.

If your bars disappeared Saturday you might be a weekly and probably won’t see another WMR update until this Saturday.

My bars disappeared this morning on WMR, along with the “your refund is still processing” message. I don’t know if me getting married in 2018 is causing problems. My social matches my married name though so I didn’t think it would. My w2s have my married name as well. I tried to get my transcripts online through the IRS website, but it said I needed to complete the 15 min verification process – email code, credit card number, cell phone number, etc. but because my last filed tax return has my maiden name, and my cell phone has my married name, it’s saying that I don’t own my mobile phone. I ended up getting locked out of my IRS account for 24 hours. Extremely annoyed right now. Can only hope we get our refund soon.

I filed 1/22/2019 got accepted 1/23/2019 bars immeditaly disappeard the next day refund amount and all was gone. no credits no nothing I filed with my w2 and is my first time filing. That transcript thing is hard to due since i dont have a credit card. i filed with turbo tax. I filed on 1/21 and was received on 1/25. I’m a PATHER. up until today I had one bar and the message ” we have received your tax return and it is being processed” along with tt 152. This morning I checked and my bars disappeared and I now have the message ” your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available” along with tt 152. This has happened to me almost every year…The first time I had to go through the whole verification process or whatever because it was my first time filing. After that first year, when I would get that message, usually I would have a DDD.

I currently have no bars as well and this message I pasted below with no tax topic 152 (my info and amount are still on the left side). I had one bar and tax topic 152 before this weekend so I’m not sure if it’s just updating or what. (I have No path). I also was able to order both transcripts a week or so ago. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen this happen with my taxes and hope more info is provided soon on WMR or from the IRS.

happens all the time. Nothing none of us can do but vent lol…and wait. The codes usually aren’t anything to worry about. IRS essentially can do what it wants since no one really governs THEM. Sit back and wait. God Bless.

Is the processing date on the transcripts the same as the issued refund date? If so, then mines says 2/18. I filed on 1/28, got accepted the same day. Bars disappear on 2/1 and has said the PATH message ever since.

A refund date will be provided when available.” I was able to order TT online today but for some reason wont let me make an account so i can actually view them online. My status bars also disappeared on the 5th. I just got off the phone with the it’s and was told there was no issue with my return and my ddd date is 2/13/19.
The post below saying they aren’t processing returns yet is BS. It is hard to reach a person at the irs however if you google it as I did and follow the steps correctly you will speak with a rep and they will give you the info you need. Just be nice to them! Being rude will get you nowhere

I had this happen to me a couple of years ago. Apparently the IRS randomly pulls a small percentage of tax payers returns and verifies for identify theft. Once my bars disappeared about 4-5 weeks later I got a letter from the IRS where I had to call and speak with an agent. They verified a few things from my prior years tax return as well as asked personal ID questions to me. It was about 2 days after that when I checked wmr and got my DDD.

However, around two days ago (Feb. 5), the bars disappeared and I received the message: “Your return is still being processed” and the amount of refund was gone.

I woke up this morning, checked around 6 a.m. and it was the same thing. Went back to bed; woke up around 9 a.m and figured I’d check again for the heck of it, and my bars are back! With a DD date of 2/11.

So, if you get the message, don’t worry. I’ve never had this happen before on any tax year and I don’t receive EITC or ACTC (I do get the regular child tax credit, though).

My guess is these delays could be caused by the gov’t shutdown. That’s just a guess, but hang in there.

Having the same issue. Got accepted on 1/22 and had 1 bar until yesterday 02/05. My refund amount is no longer on th left side . No bars and message saying it’s still being processed and a date will be provided when available and then TR 152. Only thing different this year is my last name changed but i did that months ago. Called the IRS and was basically told that it should be fine not to call unless WMR prompted me to or gave me an error. Also said if I didn’t get my refund or an update by Feb 18th then I could call. It has nothing to do with Marketplace insurance, that’s just ridiculous.

If you had marketplace insurance for even a day or applied but never actually got it or one of your dependents got it and you didn’t provide that on your return, TT 152 and missing bars can mean you’ll get a letter in 30 days and your return will be eventually re-processed about 6 weeks after, refund 3 weeks after that. As long as you filed an accurate return, it’s probably nothing. The sucky part of filing before 1/31 is you’re likely to overlook something that didn’t show up until the first week of February.

I had bar saying RETURN RECIEVED, THEN NOTHING WITH TOPIC 152.
I called a tax info line and they said that means they are being processed and finished as soon as all information is verified. Then once its verified the status will change. The process time depends on the irs agent and case load.
So if passes 21 days and no info on WMR, then you can call IRS.

Yes mine did the same thing. My return was accepted on 1/14/19 and I had a bar but I went back and checked it said no information is available about your refund. Then is has TT 152. I have any questions then I should use reference number 9001? I didn’t file EIC or ACTC.
