There’s been a lot of talk about some of us with a lack of WMR bars, messages like “still processing vs just “processing,” PATH Act delays, etc etc. So just to add to the noise, I thought I’d let y’all know that when I check WMR for my joint return (with my ssn) I get the “still processing” message with my correct refund amount listed. However, when I check the same joint return with my spouse’s ssn I get the regular processing message with no refund amount listed at all.
Neither of our transcripts show any movement or even that any return has been filed.
I filed our joint return and it was accepted on 1/31 via TT and have since been completely in the dark about any updates or potential DDDs. I did not claim either EITC nor ACTC and have not been affected by the PATH Act.
Thinking back to last year, I’m pretty sure I received my DD prior to any indication from any IRS tools (WMR, Transcripts, etc). So I’m not sure how this info affects the prevailing theories about the mystery that is the IRS this year, but I thought I’d contribute too.
