Will I get my refund back???

I’ve been reading about some people getting their offset refunds returned to them. My tax return was offset and applied to my student loans on 3/12. The website is stating that if the payments were applied on or after 3/13, they would be refunded and sent in the mail. I’ve seen conflicting dates in a couple different places..as early as 3/5. Has anyone that had their payments applied to their past debt prior to 3/13 gotten confirmation that their refund is being returned?

Yes. You’ll get a refund. The doe is sending refunds if processed on or after 3/5. They are starting now, 4/13, mailing out paper checks -no direct deposits. I got an email from them Friday 4/10 stating it’ll be 30-60 days from now. Call them at 1-800-621-3115 to be sure your address on file is up to date and to confirm refund:)

Ours posted to my husband’s student loans as well on 3/12. He recieved an email a few days ago stating we would get it back, some have stated it went to spam box you might want to check there if they have your correct email. I also had him call a couple of weeks ago and they said we are getting them back.

Spoke to 2 different people at DOE. Mine was processed on 3/6. Was told by both representatives that I was getting a refund and that they are being mailed beginning 3/13 which is today. It’s coming.
