      I see people talking about doing ID Verify without having that code…is that a good thing to do? I have no bars but do have Topic 152 even tho that is the generic DD code. I was told to try ID Verify online and it would not let me do anything. So IF people do not have that code 9001 Why are we rushing to ID verify.

          @kit0kat2009 I did try to do it online and it would not let me. I saw that if it does not let you that means you did not have to verify. Did you try online too? or just called?

            I think it’s mostly people who have been sitting getting close to the 21 day mark.. The odds of this being your issue the closer it gets are good… the system went crazy and stopped far more returns this year.

            I called and found out.. I assumed this was the case, because of last year..
            But I got flagged, my sister and her boyfriend were flagged… I filed before them.. They have already gotten letters and solved the issues, the fastest I’ve seen.. They even have their refunds early..

            I haven’t received my letter and it could take up to 4 weeks.. Just to get the letter!

            I don’t know if it could really hurt to do the ID Verify.. I’d assume if you aren’t pulled for it, it wouldn’t hold up your return..Who knows..

            I did find out the ones who get flagged are pulled.. Then sent to another system. They verify and are processed.. Sent back to the original system.. Which is the back of the line or whatever that is.. Considering the order seems random..

            So if that was the case I don’t know how it could take longer or if it would affect refund dates.. While for people who are absolutely sure this is the reason.. Well it’s faster to go ahead and do it.. Unless you want to wait longer for a letter..

            With all that being said.. If you call the ID Verify line, you can ask about issues.. Hint to an agent, may have told you to call them..
