Who is still waiting for 2019 taxes thread

This thread is for anyone waiting for 2019 tax refund still in 2021.

Me I have been waiting since January.
In August got audited. I was sent to the Fresno examination department at the IRS in Fresno.

They asked me to fax or mail some supporting documents for me and my kids. No biggie had them ready because a few years ago had to do this before. (Every year just incase I gather all these documents to send in)

Anyway I sent them in via fax. In October I got a letter that they received it. I would also know by a date in December. The date came and passed. S9 I called the main IRS number with extension 652. I was told they received them then lost my documents. Idk how name and social and page numbered. I was told to fax again so I did and all pages went through. I also FedEx them my documents and Certified USPS mail with return recipe. I was told this could take another 2 to 3 months.

That’s if they dont lose every packet of documentation I sent via 3 different ways.

But my 9k tax return went down to 130 until they see my proof. I’m about to call this year a lost. Hey at least I dont owe taxes.

I think now I will do mail returns from now on and send in documentation to support my claim to credits with my mail returns. Just so they have no reason to send me letters asking for stuff because they already have it for that tax year.

That is insane. Maybe they can just ask the kids w whom they reside. I know, parents can coax them. But, There has to be a better way.

Hey Dan – I have same issue. 23 years of filing with same 4 kids but something wonked for 2018 and IRS decided my 2 remaining dependents, I dunno, disappeared? I just got a bill for $14.77 from the Treasury Dept! Am owed about a $7K refund. I have decided I will take up this battle again AFTER this year’s taxes are filed/received. I had NO problem with last year’s filing…I got my refund in 8 days – 2 dependents magically “reappeared” in their system, I guess.

Been waiting since April. Happens every year for us since 2017. Always get the run around of we need more time give us sixty days. Then it takes over a year
