This tax season is so terrible. I filed 1/29. No direct deposit date, just a letter in the mail that i need to prove my income. Didn’t use the word audit but said it could take 6-8 weeks to process. Really? To look at two lousy pieces of paper, compare it to a return takes 6 weeks? This has got to be the absolute worst year I have ever had with them.

P.S. If you are going to use a prepaid card, go with the bluebird amex, its backed by wells fargo so it has fdic and early depositing with less fees than the others. you can also write checks and for all intents and purposes it functions like a checking without having to run your credit and keeps the IRS paws off your normal checking accts

Same boat. Local preparer, but using Netspend. I guess they still have until 11:59 pm, but I’m not too confident. Hopefully, we will all have a great Friday!

Definitely the IRS. These generic banks from these prepaid cards don’t know any more than we do. I’m using the emerald card with h&r. I’m still poor as poor can be. Irs really fudged up making 2/22 the ddd for SO many people. I know some ppl with NetSpend and the same ddd who has gotten theirs, same with the TT card or real banks.. and some who haven’t. Like me. The problem is the IRS hasn’t even sent ours out yet. Too many to keep up with. I can’t for the life of me understand why they gave so many people the same date. I filed on 1/25, got accepted the next day. Why in the hell do I have the same exact ddd as people who filed in February? I would prefer another date that will come ON TIME then some made up date that I plan half my damn life around.
