Filed 1/26 accepted within 10 mins
HRB with fees taken out
Last year I think the PATH ban was lifted 2/16 or something. Does anyone know when that’ll happen this year? -

If you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), you can expect to get your refund by February 28 if:
You file your return online
You choose to get your refund by direct deposit
We found no issues with your return
However, some taxpayers may see their refunds a few days earlier. Check Where’s My Refund for your personalized refund date. Where’s My Refund should show an updated status by February 18 for most early EITC/ACTC filers -

I guess everyone sees different things. I’ve seen path is supposed to end at midnight tonight and refund dates as soon as the 18th. My transcript will update Friday or Saturday morning and I am hoping to see a DDD for early next week. The processing date is already sooner than last year and I received mine on the 24th last year. Been a PATHer for years now.

@KBJW
No, refunds should be received by the 28th, not starting the 28th.

Feb. 15th is not the law, show me where it states, specifically a date. It says mid-Feb. Mid-Feb does not mean the 15th. The IRS will never give a date due to possible delays. This year it’s the 18th, but keep in mind, the 18th is a Saturday and the following Monday is a Holiday.

I don’t know where the 18th came from. It’s always been the 15th. It’s in the law.

IRS website says 2/15 this year. Last year I received my refund 2/16 which was the same day my transcript updated. My refund date was 2/22 on transcript, but I use a Bluebird card and they release funds same day received.

I dont even listen to that anymore considering last year I filed 2/1 and received 2/8 fastest turn around ever with CTC no EIC
CTC is not a credit that gets held by PATH. The ADDITIONAL Child Tax Credit (ACTC) and EIC are the only two.
This link further discusses the different credits and where to find them in your return.

This year, PATH is scheduled to end on 2/18. First refunds anticipated 2/28.
Last year, the freeze was *supposed* to lift 2/15 but dragged on out until 2/19, instead. The earliest PATH refunds were not supposed to hit until March 1st or 4th–but I got mine on 2/24.
I suppose 2/23 is the earliest PATH refund date possible, for 2023

I read yesterday that it will be lifted on 2/15 this year. Hope things go smoothly this year!!
