I looked back over my transcripts for the last 3 years all of them had a processing date in March and I received my refund about a week before the processing date except for last year. Last year my processing date was 2/18 and I received my refund 2/27, this year my processing date is 2/17. I don’t know if the lateness of the refund was because of the government shutdown or not, all other years I goy it on the 22nd or 23rd. Hopefully it goes back to that this year and we’ll be seeing it late next week.

From my experience and understanding, the processing date is the date they have “up to” to complete your return process. You generally have a good idea where they are at with your return based on your transcripts.

For example, I can view all of my transcripts, have the same cycle code and processing date as well as all codes relevant to my specific return (150, 806, 768) just waiting in code 846 which is the refund code. I’ve noticed that once you can view all your info and you’re just waiting on a ddd on your transcripts you’re good to go. Im a pather as well so I think we just wait until Friday or Saturday for an update.
