an easy read, with good infographics. An A+ if you want to know more about how the Automated Clearinghouse system works :)

It is dangerous to go alone!
Here, take this link to FEDACH Processing times:https://www.frbservices.org/assets/financial-services/ach/091517-same-day-schedule.pdf
most of us seem to fall with the 2:15am future-dated batches. in this case, the final database batch operation runs and transmits between 2:15am and 6am and is ready for deposit at 8:30am Eastern Time.
its hard to read, but the first column is earliest ACH batch trasmit – the second column is close time on ACH transmit – the third column is the latest time anything in those batches may be made available, this is only the TIME OF DAY transmit and receive happens on any given BUSINESS DAY.
Disparities in memo-post / pre-note, and actual deposit happen because some batches are bigger than others, some banks are smaller than others, some have faster computers, some are using real-live humans, et cetera.
Also, when *most* of us were kids mom & dad had to wait for a check. In the mail. To take to a bank. A *real* bank. The miracle of instant gratification that we have in 2018 is *way* different from the realities of actually moving billions of dollars into millions of accounts in a matter of weeks. Be thankful we live in an era where robots do most of the heavy lifting, and all we have to do is sit on our hands until the giant machine has churned out the cash it owes us. Keep it in perspective, and don’t forget to breathe…
ps: fingers crossed for morning…

Last year I can remember telling my wife “money hit the bank, let’s go to wal-mart 😄” late night early morning. It won’t be a next day wait deal. Should start seeing deposits right after midnight.
