      I have to ID verify. Is there any way I can do it over phone before I get my letter?

          The number is in the letter. It’s not on the IRS website. It’s for good reason. Don;t call the number to ask if you have to ID verify. Wait for your letter. Don;t add to wait times unnecessarily. Though if you poke around google and this here forum, you can find it.

            @Bigbuttmom You need the letter because there is a control number assigned to you, and you need that number to verify. It’s your 14 digit control number they will ask for it when you call or you would need it to verify online.
