What is considered a "Qualifying Hardship"?

And does my hardship qualify?

-Unemployed with benefits running out in a few weeks which means absolutely NO INCOME until my job opens back up in May(refund would be EXACTLY enough to get me by til then).

-College student behind on monthly payments and at risk of being kicked out due to balance.

-Car payment

-Lastly, and most importantly, I’m on medication that I CANNOT stop cold turkey! For any reason! And on top of everything else on my hardship list it wouldn’t be a good idea for me to stop ::cough:: crazy meds ::cough::

So do you think I would qualify? Or will I have to wait it out. I’m so scared because I’ve NEVER been in this situation. I’ve never not been able to pay my bills and I’m praying that I get some type of relief. It’s been a month today since I filed and I was expecting my return last week at the latest. When I called they said it would be 6-8 more weeks then another 9! I’m currently on hold with the Tax Advocate line.

Sounds like you have a lot going on. I’m sorry to read all that. I truly hope things get better. Actually I know they will. Everything changes. That’s one thing that’s a constant. I’m sure you will get your refund much faster. I was told 9 weeks and it took about 1 week.
